Sorry for asking what maybe a silly question, I have researched the dining plan but can't seem to find the answer to this specific question!! The dining plan at WDW is new to us, we stay DVC and on our last trip the dining plan was not available to DVC stays. We are familiar with the dining plan at Disneyland Paris which we choose not to use as there the dining plan choices on the menu are a limited section from the main menu. Is this the case at WDW? What I mean is, is there a section of the menu where you choose your food from if using dining credits or can you choose food from the full menu? I like nice food (we tend to eat at signature restaurants) but am quite a fussy eater so would like the maximum choice from the menu possible.
Sorry, additional question!! I read that the dining plan has to be used for the length of your stay, but also that it is for 1 - 10 nights. Seen as we travel from the UK we stay between 12 and 14 nights in the DVC villas, so would we be able to get the DDP for the length of our stay (12 or 14 nights) or would it be a max of 10 nights?

I can answer one question! ;) There are no seperate 'dining plan' items on the menus. For the deluxe plan you can order 1 appetizer, 1 entree and 1 dessert from any of the items on the menu.
I don't know about a restriction on the amount of days/nights. We have never stayed for that long (although I would LOVE to! :lovestruc )
Hope that helps you a little! :goodvibes

No, there is no separate DDP menu, for the most part you may order any item from the menu.
There are a few (and very few) restaurant-specific exceptions. One of the things you will find is that California Grill counts sushi as an appetizer except for the two most expensive sushi dishes - these may not be ordered as a DXDDP appetizer but can be ordered as an entree. Wolfgang Puck Cafe also does not permit sushi to be ordered as an appetizer.
You must get the dining plan for the entire length of your stay. I don't know where you are seeing that it is limited to 10 nights, because that's not one I've heard before.

Thanks for the info, I was unsure about the length of stay v 10 night thing. I had read that the max magic your way base ticket was 10 nights, but in the UK we can get 14 and 21 night hopper passes. I think we will have to look into the deluxe dining plan a little more as it may save us money on our next trip.
Thanks again for the info.

That's the explanation then - the dining plan is not at all tied to your park tickets. It's tied to your resort stay. You can purchase any length of park ticket you want and still get DDP for the length of your resort stay.
