View Full Version : Pin code rate is exactly the same as regular rate? What's the point?

I got a pin code today for value rooms at $82 during August 09 - October 1, but that's the regular rate for those rooms at that time. Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the point? I'm thinking that maybe they're hoping the people that get these won't know the difference. I got a little excited when I saw my e-mail, but now I feel punk'd by Disney Destinations, lol.

I have gotten emails from Disney advertising a deal, only to find out it was their general public deal and didn't actually contain a pin code.

Are you sure there is a code? If there is, I would call to find out what the discount is since you are right, you certainly don't need a special code to get Value season rates.

Me thinks you hit the nail on the head. Back before the DIS I probably would have jumped on that not knowing...then again I used to book everything online so I might have caught it...but lots of people like the direct phone call versus booking online and they wouldn't have a clue.

Was it a pin code or just a marketing piece for their regular rates? I've gotten those before too.

It doesn't include dining? Those are the dates everyone is getting for free dining. Being you are here on the codes and rates page you probably know that.

It doesn't include dining (or any other extras). The tops says, "Select Disney
Value Resorts $82* per night, plus tax in a standard room for stays most nights 8/9/09-10/1/09."

& the bottom states, "Call 407-W-DISNEY or your Travel Agent and book today. Be ready with your PIN: ##### ##### #####."

Well, I can't complain about never getting pin codes anymore, lol.

I would call to see if the rate includes the Dining, because those are the exact dates for the Free Dining Pins that have been released.

If it were me, I would call back and check why they are advertising standard rates as something special, it may be that the CRO person just did not realize what was special about your pin code (or it could just be and IT error since they are very common at WDW). I generally kick something as “strange” as this up to a supervisor level.

I do not think FD pins start until the 15th.

I thought the free dining began on 8/16 because the 4+3 ends on 8/15?
