We will be on the Magic June 8 and I was wondering if anyone had snorkeled at the site of the sunken airplane. If so, how do we get there from the ship and are there any other places to snorkel on your own?
Also, how is the shopping in Cozumel?
Thank you, karenann:wave:

I believe the sunken airplane is at the beach where EL CID Hotel is located (also called La Cieba Hotel). Have not been there but when my brother cruises they spend the day at this Hotel. They charge you $5.00 to use their facilities.
I also heard that Chankanab has great snorkeling. I have been to Xel Ha and that had great snorkeling.
Also a great beach is Mr. Sanchos. El Cid Hotel and Chankanab have rocks before you get into the water. Mr. Sanchos is all sand.

Thank you for your response. Do you know where Mr. Sanchos is from where we dock?

Mr. Sanchos is about a 15 min cab ride from the pier that we dock at. It cost us $15.00 each way for 3 adults and 2 kids. There is no admission for the beach and there is "hut" shopping right there as well. Great beach, live music, good food, water sports, plenty of chairs and a pool also. If it is beach you want then this is a great place. If it is snorkeling then I would recommend the others.

is definitely the place to go for wonderful snorkling, especially if you have kids with you. You can go "on your own" it is much cheaper that way than booking with the cruise line, they have several places to rent equipment, you can eat there, and even explore the park! It is very easy to get a cab to the park. We went snorking in the morning and then went and checked out the shopping in the afternoon, if I had it to do all over again, I would have just snorkeled. It is fun to dicker with the Mexicans, but the merchandise isn't all that nice. Cute but cheap! :o)
We went when we took a Carnival cruise a couple of years ago.
