Can anyone tell me what alternatives there are for formal night dining? When I go on vacation, I prefer to dress as casually as possible. Is the buffet open for those that do not want to go to the formal dinner? Does anyone have any other ideas?

Please don't miss Formal Night. It's nice to dress up and go to dinner with your family/spouse. You only need to be dressed up for max of 3 hrs. I wore a shorter black and flowered dress with pretty dress up shoes. No tuxes here. Very nice pictures op. Even hand them your camera for your own copies. Lumiere's is not to be missed. DS even had white shirt and clip on. Everyone looked so handsome and pretty. After dinner we went back to the room and put on our shorts, t & sneaks.

You can eat in Topsiders buffet in shorts/casual. At night , Topsiders is half buffet/sit down. We brought the kids here one night when we had made a late reservation for PALO. The buffet line was for the salads and appetizers and the rest of the dinner was ordered off a menu. The menu had really nice entrees on it.

You can also order room service for dinner or for basic food I think you can grab something by the pool. The pizzaria closes at 6 pm and re-opens at 10 pm and Pluto's dog house closes at 8 pm.

On the 3/23 Magic cruise there was a wide range of attire on formal night. If you find the menu appealing, don't feel you have to skip the meal because of a dress code.

If you're just talking about not dressing in Tux/Sequin Gown(not sure if you're guy/gal) - you can book Palos on formal night. We did that last year because we don't want to pack formal wear for 1 night of a 3 week trip! Totally understand. Palo's dress is no different than eating at Lumiere's(or Triton's) Otherwise, yes there are other options like Darwin stated. Have a great relaxing and casual vacation :smooth: !
