I have friends that are taking a WDW vacation the end of next month. They'll be on the dining plan for the first time. When they go to Downtown Disney they made an ADR for Planet Hollywood. But I guess her DH is thinking of House of Blues. I don't think this is on the DDP, is it?

And if it's not and they decide to go and pay OOP, what type of restaurant is this? He really enjoys to go to places that play blues music. Is there a band here? Do they have blues music playing throughout the restaurant? Do tell.

House of Blues does not accept the dining plan.

HoB does have bands. However not in the restaurant.
They offer a Gospel Brunch on Sundays. We have not gone to this so cannot fill in any details on the brunch.

They do have bands at times. I think there are certain nights of the week that they have bands or groups playing. There is a stage in the restaurant.

OOP it can be expensive. We usually get steak and ribs with salad and beverage it can be around $70 for two people.

Just have your friends go to hob.com and select the Orlando location. They'll get to see performance schedule, menu, etc.

I'll be there this Friday night, for a jazz performance. There is no charge to enjoy the music. I will also order a light meal. I figure for $20 I'll be in good shape there.

There is also a dessert on the menu that is to die for and easily shared:
White Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding with Jack Daniels Whiskey Sauce, Whipped Cream and a Caramel Halo

House of Blues is a chain. It is set up with multiple stages and entertainment venues. There is usually a stage in the Dining room/bar area and those shows usually do not require a fee. The Gospel Brunch may be the exception to that rule. There is usually a concert "hall" where the ticketed events are held and even a few smaller rooms where other private functions or more intimate ticketed events are held. They are really cool places and worth checking out. Be sure to pay attention to the detail and art work. HoB actually uses real artists to come in and create those, a very cool endeavor.
