Need more buffet meals....help!!!

I have two boys ages 6 & 8.

We are on the dining plan and they will get plenty of PB&J and nuggets at the counter service meals so I don't want them to have to eat that at all the sitdown TS meals. At least with a buffet they will have more options.

We have 7 TS meals and so far have ADR's for:

Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
Bomas
Whispering Canyon(not buffet but may have a few more options)

Any others I am missing? :confused3

Tusker House

Those are the other 2 I would recommend.

We didn't like 1900 PF that much!

We also like biergartren and tusker house. you could also try cape may clam bake and trails end (we have never eaten at trails end but i have seen postitve reviews.)

Also has a buffet dinner with Cinderella, Prince charming, the stepsister and step mother

Like O'hana's for the family style bbq dinner too nice view of MK fireworks..

Ohanas and Liberty Tree is good food (they took away characters though) YUMMY food!
Also, not character but GOOD food for kids is Kona Cafe, check menu cause now that I think of it, my ds is not a child.....

I really like Ohana's dinner too. They have a variety of food, and they get you started right away with the yummy bread. Also there are coconut races for the kids later on in the meal.

I didn't see a restuarant pic for Epcot. So maybe Garden Grill would be a good choice. It's not a buffet, but an all-you -care to eat family style meal. The food is healthy, and from what I hear, tasty too. It's a character meal with Farmer Mickey, Chip and Dale, and Pluto I think. You can check out the menu on the allears website.

my kids 8 and 3 LOVED Ohana's dinner. It is an all you can eat dinner that includes a delious variety, and there are plenty of activites for the childern. Liberty Tree is also a great choice of an all you can eat dinner with an at home feel. Also Whispering Canyons does offer an all you can eat option called the skillet. Hope ya'll have a great trip!

O'hanas I guess would be called I think a family style they bring all different types of skewers of meats and things to your table to choose from and there are lots of activities for the kids.
You may want to do the math on doing may buffets it may be cheaper to do this OOP instead of getting the DDP.

It is in Tusker House in AK - I just booked this as an ADR yesterday - we couldn't get in for our trip last August so book it early.

We also loved 1900 Park Fayre dinner and are doing this again - we are also going back to Cape May for dinner - also been there before but not for a few years but still has decent reviews on these boards.

I would love to try Biergarten but I have a DD who is vegetarian and don't think there would be enough options for her.

I have kids similar ages and try my hardest to find non-burger or nugget places as often as possible - so that's not their only meal during the whole trip. We really like Tony's in MK. It is not a buffet, but our kids LOVE pasta and they offer spaghetti and meatballs (or a multi grain pasta dish too). It's something that I KNOW they'll eat and it isn't fried.

If your kids are like mine - you might want to try it. :)

For everyone who has recommended Donald's Safari Breakfast - I see the breakfast buffet doesn't offer a pancake or waffle option...and my dd won't eat eggs. I know that Ohana doesn't show waffles on their menu but they are available - is that the same at Donald's??

I agree this was not worth going to and we had heard that before we went but we like trying everything at least once anyway and will probably not go there again.

Not buffet but don't forget Pop's food court as they have many options to choose from that don't have to be pb&j or nuggets.

Check out the dining menus at www.allearsnet.com to get restaurant ideas as well. There are many restaurants that offer a wide menu even if they're not buffet. My kids like Planet Hollywood for that very reason.

I don't know that I would agree with many...but there are some other options to choose from - two of which are a pizza pita and mac n cheese (which are likely also going to be heavily used at CS meals). Other than that as far as Kids' meal options - there is a pasta and meatball, broccoli stir fry, and some sort of lo-mein thing.

Not bad - but not a ton of options like a buffet would offer - where the kids can choose from the adult OR kids options.

Can't your kids also eat off the adult plate at the family style restaurants-Garden Grill, Liberty Tree Tavern,etc.? (Not sure if those places are good, just another suggestion).

In feeding our hollow legged teenagers, we are veterans of the buffet theory of dining at WDW. We enjoyed:
Crystal Palace--breakfast-great food, service and characters (my/Mom personal fav buffet due to the to-die-for puffed french toast on the kids table)
Chef Mickey's--good food, excellent service, great character interaction
1900 Park Faire--breakfast & dinner-food was just OK, service very good, the Step Mother and Step Sisters were freakin hilarious! My DD enjoyed them so much.
Akershus not a buffet but all you can eat-food not so great, service very good, characters great (only princesses)
Ohana not a buffet, but again, all you can eat. Breakfast and supper. Food just OK, service for breakfast not so great, supper was very good. Food--breakfast just Ok, supper was good but not one of the top places we ate for quality of food.
Whispering Canyon Cafe supper. We got the all you can eat skillet. The worst meal of the trip. We were seated in the anteroom that juts out into the lobby so we missed all the fun, waiter was slow and never brought refills when we asked. We didn't even get dessert, which was included, because we wanted to get out of there so fast.

I think you are smart to maximize with buffets. It worked really well for us.

Most ts rest. have a few things on their menus and usually one of them is a special item (i.e. steak at Le Cellier, Teppan meals or chinese type cuisine at Teppan Edo.)
I would check the kids menus at allears.net and pick a non buffet meal or two to have a potentially quieter, more relaxing meal. Just my $.02 cents worth, but I think all buffets would get old.

I have looked at so many menus that they're all running together but I do remember some places NOT have the usual kid fare. LeCellier was definitely one as mentioned but I know there were others. Go check out www.allears.net for menus. I just can't imagine doing buffets for every meal. I think we're doing 3. :)

Whispering Canyon Cafe must be hit or miss because I hear ppl that love and ppl who don't! And I am one who loved it! We all had the skillet and thought it was great! Our waitress was also great! We didn't have room for dessert so she was kind enough to pack it in take out containers to go for us!

It's a buffet and there is more than seafood there from what I remember from our 2005 trip theere was a big selection becase DS at that point was very fussy and there was something for everyone!
