It was amazing!!!! AKL was fantastic and we were upgraded to a villa which was a really nice surprise. You could get lost in that resort looking at all the details, carvings, animals, etc etc. That place is one of a kind

We were there for the opening day of the American Idol Experience. That was incredible!!!!

We made use of the pool bar and hot tub, had a great dinner at Jiko. The entire trip was perfect! Short, but perfect. Best Valentines day ever!

Oh, and I did just fine in my shoes, thank you ;) :lmao:

Did ya'll have a savannah view room? How loud were the animalistic sounds? Did the animals seem annoyed about you and Scott making so many animal noises at all hours of the night?

;) I won't be sharing anything like that. No admission price required. We did have a savanna room....very sweet! We were on a high floor so we were never bothered by any sounds......but...i think we maybe terrified some zebras. :rotfl:

Cool! How's the construction there? We're staying there in March with a savanna room. Do you recall which savanna and trail you were on? I don't want to be anywhere near the construction. :headache:

If you want to be away from the construction of the new villas, stay on the Zebra trail which is Uzima Savanna. That would be your best bet!

Great pics! We've never eaten at Jiko but we will next month! We eat at Boma every trip we make to the World but this time I have also made an ADR on DH's birthday for Jiko. :woohoo: I can't wait!

Its an amazing place! I took so many pictures of it!


We went in a hot tub....it was hot. Very hot, actually......

then the "heated" pool was frigid. I wouldn't stick more than my pinky toe in there. I prefer my pool water like a warm bath.

The other "tub" was a kiddie pool :rotfl: That was cold too...unless it was full of 20 peeing kids :scared1:


As for drinks, the nice bar tender lady...Patty I believe....told us about this African liquor that is only at AKL that was like Bailey's only different. She made me a buttery nipple out of it.....yummmmm! Hmmm, I kind of want one now....:lovestruc
