It was a wonderful 8 days there. I loved the Carribean theme. I was in Trinidad North building 31. The room was very clean and always extra towels were on the shelf. Having a coffepot in the room was great.

I had no problems with the busses, only one morning was it so full I had to stand.

The food court was so-so. I like POR's better. Also, I didn't care for having to walk into the gift store to get to the food court. It was worse trying to manuever a tray of food thru there to go outside to eat.

Outside near the pool were alot of tables and umbrellas to eat at...that I enjoyed very much. But, watch out for the birds and ducks....they are very friendly and want to share your food. A mother duck with 5 ducklings make the rounds too.

Check-in at 2:30 pm on a Friday was a breeze, no waiting. The resort is so big they drive you & your luggage to your room. And they also pick you up to bring you back to customs house at the end of your stay. That was nice.

Any questions?

Welcome back. Did they charge you for the in room coffee? If so, how much? Is TN 31 non-smoking?
If you had to pick between POR and CBR, which do you prefer?

We were there May 18-23. We were in Mart. 23 room #2346. It was lovely and clean we had a great Mousekeeper who made us small animals at night and arrnaged the kids stuffed animals. Food court was adequate. We love the double cheeseburgers. Bus service was fast accept on Sunday when thee was 2 Magic Kingdom buses following each other and we missed both. DN couldn't find her shoe. Are fault not thiers.

EpcotBill,
I brought my own coffee and filters. They only have coffee packets, no filters, creamora or sugar. The packest were $1.79 I think.
TN 31 is a smoking building. POR has a better foodcourt and the boat to DTD. But, CBR has a better pool and court area. Plus, I loved the beaches....it seemed it was easier to relax and maybe talk to a few of the other vacationers.

All in all CBR has my vote for next year.

Hi Ted & Holly

The location was perfect, very close to Port Royale. I was on the far side of the building, by building 32, but that was fine with me. Next time I would like to be near the little courtyard they had there with the tables and chairs.

We saw the Illuminations from the beach...pretty cool.

I'm back today also from a 9 day stay. I'm just curious how all of the CBR fans would feel staying in Trinadad South? There is really no guarantee of having a building close to the food court. With little kids this might be a chance not worth taking. Any thoughts?

They do have the internal bus, but I personally prefer a short walk to the foodcourt.

We stayed at CBR a few weeks ago. We were in Jamaica 45 and had a wonderful time. But as much as I love this resort, I only love it if I'm near Old Port Royale. I would be miserable staying at Trinidad South. I passed by it on my bike wondering how folks could stand being so far from food court, boats, store, etc.

I think some of those people movers they're demonstating at Epcot should be shipped out to the folks at Trinidad South. :)

I love CBR. We have stayed there 4 times now at Jamaica, Aruba and Barbados. the distance to OPR didn't bother me as I enjoyed the walk. It forced me to slow down to enjoy what was around me.

We were stuck there on our first visit to CBR in 2000. I wonder how many people actually get placed there again. I faxed in a room request 4 days before we arrived. I asked for a room near Old Port Royal and near a bus Stop. I didn't feel comfortable asking for a certain Island or room number. The only things I did ask was for a non-smoking room and for it not to be in Trinadad South. It takes forever to get to Old Port Royal. I feel for you.

We were forced to stay in Trinidad South in April 2000. It was mostly our fault. It was before we found the DIS and we asked for "quiet area with view of Spaceship Earth" They granted us exactly what we asked for.... little did we know about Trinidad South!! We were in the VERY last building of TS!! It certainly was quiet. My feet just would not walk to OPR after a long day at the parks!!! We barely used our refullable mugs. We still very much enjoyed our stay at CBR, but learned our lesson for our trip this past April. MUCH BETTER!! I recommend TS ONLY if you like to walk and walk and walk and walk!!!!

Everything is complete. I don't have pictures but have you checked out SeaSprays site. She has great pictures. I didn't take me dig. camera. So I don't have any pictures until Friday. Still not sure how to add them.

I'm kind of tech challenged.;)

...any pics yet?? Also, what time did you check in? We will be arriving around noon (by car) and I don't want to get "stuck" in one of the villages that are far away from everything.....(The last time we drove to WDW, we arrived arrived around 2:45 and our request for bldg #14 at DxL wasn't met -first come, first serve- so we were put in bldg 36, which was REALLY out of the way!)

WE WILL ARRIVE @ MCO APPROXIMATELY 11:47AM GIVE OR TAKE A FEW MINUTES WILL CBR LET US CHECK IN BEFORE CHECK IN TIME? CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH BUILDING IS THE CLOSEST TO THE BEACH AND FOOD COURT? IS THERE A BELL HOP TO TAKE YOUR LUGGAGE TO YOUR ROOM FOR YOU OR DO YOU HAVE TO PULL IT YOURSELF JUST WONDERING BECAUSE I ALWAYS OVERPACK :) OOHH YES ONE MORE THING CAN SOMEONE PLEASEEEEE TELL ME IF THERE WERE GECKO'S RUNNING AROUND AND IF THEY GET IN YOUR ROOM  MY MOM IS GOING WITH US AND I WOULD LIKE TO WARN HER BEFORE HAND I WOULD HATE FOR HER TO HAVE TO SEE ONE UNEXPECTEDLY AND SCREAM THE HOUSE DOWN :p :bounce: :)

If your room is ready you can check-in. If not, they can hold your luggage while you go play.

When you check-in the bell service will take you and your luggage, via van, to your room. This whole process can take an hour or more, if they're busy.

We stayed on the first floor and didn't see or have any problems.

There is a map which will show you where the beaches and bus stops are. Don't expect to get bldg 25. We got the 5th and last bldg we requested...Trinadad North 32 - pretty good location.

Look here for CBR Directory of services....

Welcome back! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at CBR :)

To answer the question regarding Trinidad South: I personally would NOT stay there. It's just too far removed from the rest of the resort. There's an actual road that runs between TS and the rest of CBR. My DH is diabetic and insulin dependent, DS has asthma, other DS has a hip/walking problem. We had no problems at all when requested a close building to Old Port Royale, when I explained the need was for medical reasons.
If we didn't have medical needs, then I would stay at any of the other villages, EXCEPT Trinidad South! LOL

My wife and I took the land/sea package for our honeymoon last October. We stayed at the CBR and absolutely loved it! (Aruba) We hopped on the internal bus to get to Port Royale, ususally, but sometimes we walked. Walking around the premises really is lovely; truly feel like you are in paradise. The bus system was excellent;we only wish our room was somewhat closer to the bus stop. No big deal, however. The food court was utilized by us every morning, around 8 am, for breakfast. We thought prices were quite reasonable and food was good. Lots of different options.. I truly believe we would go back to CBR without blinking an eye!! We will be spending our 1st anniversary on the Disney Wonder this October for a 4-day cruise. Can't wait!!! :bounce:

Thanks guys!

Ivrysbaby – We had 3 CB’s. For me that was plenty for an 8 night stay. I like to sleep in. hehe

Most of the pictures are from around the parks. Characters were all over the place. You’ll be able to tell the ones I took inside the castle. I should have them posted in a day or 2. The pictures I have up are from the first 5 of 16 rolls I took. I also have more resort pics – just have not gotten to them yet.

If your little DS loves Buzz DO NOT miss the MGM motorcars parade. You can also meet them in person at Al’s Barn in MGM.

Here is a link to the Wonderland Tea Party…

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/teaparty.htm

Look at my map to determine bldg locations. I'd go with 25. 26 is a handicap building.

I have to add my two cents about staying in Trinidad South. My husband and I stayed there in April, in the absolutely furthest building from OPR. I would never, ever recommend anyone to stay in TS. We were so tired from walking every day that it was too much of a chore to get to OPR. And we're only 26-years-old, so we should be in prime conditioning for the walk!!!!!

As someone already mentioned, we barely got our money's worth from our refillable cups because it was just so much of a pain in the butt to get to OPR to refill. Sure, we could have taken the internal bus system, but the internal buses just didn't come often enough.

We were there the week after Easter and crowds were absolutely impossible (they closed AK at 10 am due to crowds the first day we were there). That, coupled with the distance of our room made for an overall unenjoyable week. I'm glad I've been to Disney before, or I would have been so totally turned off the trip in general that I would probably never return. We're convinced that we had such an amazing trip the last time we went (only saw one cloud, temp steady at 85 F) that we were due for a bit of bad luck.

We loved the theming, but would only go back to stay in Martinique, Trinidad North or Jamaica.

sandileigh,

That's the chance I'm talking about. You can never be sure where they're gonna put you, even if you fax room requests. TS and Mart. are 2 different experiences.

Another thing that happen to us, while staying in Trinadad North, we were always the 6th stop for pickups and somethings the bus was so packed after the 5th stop if would never come. Twice we had to wait 30 minutes for buses in the evening when people were returning for the nighttime shows. Even then it was standing room only.

FYI...

The bus stop order for pickup AND dropoff for 90% of our trips was

1.Jam
2.Aruba
3.Barb
4.Mart
5.Ole Port
6.TN
7.TS

So in TS you'd be last for pickup and last for drop off. :(

My advice to anyone who will listen about Trinidad South.... do what I did when they didn't even know my room requests when we checked in in April. I still don't know where they were going to put us, but I argued (sweetly) and CHOSE our room from those available.... We checked in before noon though. If you get there early enough and they say you're in TS, BEG AND PLEAD with them to change your room.... My neighbor tried it and it worked for her as well.

I'm not suggesting you all go out an harrass the nice CM's, but as a last resort.......

Holly
