My AP will expire coming march and just received a letter in the mail that if i "renew by your aniiversary date", there is a discounted price of $345.06. If i do renew now, does my new AP starts the date my current pass expires or does it start whenever I activate the new pass. Hate to renew it now if i'm not gonna be using it till my next trip.

Renewals begin when your current pass expires.

Renewals retain the same anniversary date as your old pass they just extend the expiration date 1 year. If it will be several months before your next trip you will need to figure out the difference between the renewal price & purchasing a new DVC discounted AP and then factor the lost time to see if it is worth renewing or waiting to purchase a new pass at a later date. It used to be a $20 difference but with the price increase last August on the AP's there was a larger difference between renewing & purchasing later. I don't remember howmuch id was but it was considerably more. Maybe someone else knows.

It starts the day after the old one expired. That is why we just always buy new AP's with the DVC discount cuz we get more bang for our buck that way. I always buy them ahead of time cuz I want to get them before the price increases, you get a voucher to turn in for new passes at Guest Services.

The new DVC member price on the letter is $392.99 for adults and $347.19. Wow, big jump.

Yes it is a big jump but if you aren't planning a trip for at least 3 or 4 months after your current pass expires it might be worth it to pay the difference when you actually do go instead. That way you will have a year from the beginning of that trip to make use of the new passes rather than just 8 or 9 months.

im heading to VB at the end of MAY and would like to at least drop by WDW for the star wars weekend. And my BLT is not till october- that's when i really need the AP. And i know i will be going again in 2010- so if i renew in Oct, i have till oct. 2010 to use it. oh well
Temptation, frustration....
It would be perfect if we can use that free admission birthday pass anytime....that would be perfect.

$369 does not include sales tax. $392.99 is the price including sales tax.
I don't think that the exchange vouchers have an expiration date.

anyone know how to renew the AP if we didn't get the renewal notice ? Can we do it online or by phone to MS ?
The reason i'm asking is, my wife received the renewal notice by mail and i didn't.
