Hi guys,
we are staying at PBH for 7 nights, 24th September to the 1st October, and this will be our first time onsite at Universal and our first time at a Lowes hotel.
Can anyone tell me if at this time of year we may be likely to get a room upgrade if we ask when we check in? I have a Lowes membership number but as I say we have never stayed at one of their hotels before.
We have booked a garden view room but i'm hoping we might be lucky and get upgraded to a bay view.
Also will the time year we are going (I hear it's not too busy in September) improve our chance of an upgrade? :confused3
Thanks! :)

Parts, if not most, of September is value time for the hotels.
If you have the blue Loews You First card, it states upgrading at check in is possible if the room is available.
Give it a shot.
You just might get lucky and get the free upgrade!

Thanks for the reply! :)
Can anyone tell me if they have asked for a free upgrade and if you succeeded or failed in your attempt?!

Thats great! hope that happens to us! what room did you get upgraded from? and did you book direct with universa/lowes?
Just make sure it is a Loews membership that you have and not a Lowes membership. They are two completely different companies.
Book directly with Loews for ease of reservation change.

Oops, thats my spelling! I always seem to put Lowes instead of Loews! :headache:
I booked through Netflights as it was a lot cheaper. Direct would have cost $1222.36 but we only paid about $535!
$535 for 7 nights at the Portofino? Are you sure. It sounds really, really unreaslistically cheap.
Out of curiousity, I checked your netflights.com and the RPR was £1308.00 for two people which is about $1800 US. I couldn't find PBH but it would be even more than that.
I checked the Loews hotel website for your dates at RPR and got $866 which is a lot cheaper than netflights.
Something sounds off with your Portofino quote.

Well im not sure of the conversion exactly as I paid in pounds sterling (£378).

You must be royalty or something because that is under $100/night which is totally unheard of.

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone actually stayed yet with this deal? Not sure how they can be booking something for half price. I'd call the hotel itself and double check.

Yes I will do, just waiting for my conformation in the post. They have taken the deal off the website now so I think it was a mis-price! They have taken the full amount from my account.
Oh and they are a reputable company so it's not a scam.

Damo these where on netflights , but apparently have been took of now, although they where supposed to be available to book up to 28th Feb.
I have my bookings direct with Loews and the free suite upgrade, but like you said ,sounds to good to be true.
I personally stayed with my original ressie, as netflights said in there T&Cs, if they get notification that the hotels are overbooked , you will be offered an alternative of the same Standard, but you need to pay the difference.:scared1:
While i hope everyone gets there reservation honoured :cheer2: , i would always rather book direct,

I originally booked on Monday but had to change something so it would have been since Tues. We went for the RPR as its my favourite although we haven't stayed at the Portofino yet. We got 7 nights at the RPR for £343 from 27th July.:thumbsup2

I take it that if they tell you the hotel is overbooked then you can choose to get your money refunded?

It just said you would be offered same standard hotel or resort, and you would have to pay the difference. Did not say about a refund. I take it they would let you know shortly before you go so you could sort out the alternative accomadation.
I hope they do honour them , for everyone who booked, because it would be a huge disappointment.
I know that Loews offer Floridan residents , good deals at weekends. The RPR has always been full for Fri and Sat nights when we stay every summer.
i booked the 7 day Supersaver offer direct with Loews with Platinum upgrade.
so i am happy with what i have.
If i did not have the upgrade , i might have been tempted with the offer,
It just sounds really scary. What I would do is phone the hotel directly and make sure they have your reservation confirmed and that it is paid in full. Since nobody has actually stayed there with this deal, I'd do everything I could in advance to make sure that it is honoured. It would be awful to get there and find out that things are not what they seem and you are forced to stay somewhere else.

Thanks for the advice damo, I will call them when I get my booking reference in the post. :thumbsup2

Stop worrying, I had an original booking with HRH and an upgrade to a deluxe queen room because I am a Rock royalty member at a rate of £112 a night.
I cancelled the booking, booked at a rate of £68 a night with Netflights.
I then rang my contact at the HRH and asked if I could still have my upgrade and they have agreed !
Netflights even emailed the HRH for me to smooth the booking over for me. The HRH have confirmation of my booking. I haven't had confirmation via email or post yet from Netflights , booked Wednesday with a deposit of £400, which has left my account. I was told that it normally takes 3 days for a confirmation email or invoice to be sent out.
Happy Days !
