Our two week land and sea adventure! W/ LOTS OF PICS!!!(UPDATED 6/17 pg.16 post 227)

For anybody who didn't read my pre trippie I'll give a short little introduction to dh and myself and a little about how this trip came to be. Unbeknownst to me dh had planned a week in disney for december all the way back in june. Well december came around and we couldn't get off work so the trip had to be canceled. We were devastated. When we found out there was going to be time off at the end of january/first part of feb dh told me that we were going to be taking a two week vacation to make up for having to cancel in december. About this time the 4/3 deal came out and we booked our trip! Seven days in disney world and then a seven day disney cruise. (if you want the whole story see my siggy for the pre trippie link.) Now a bit about us.

We got married July 19th 2008 in Ohio. We live in Va currently and travel for work. We have lived in WI, northern va and now kind of the middle of Va. We'll be moving again probably sometime this summer, but we're not sure where to. We have a kitty we adopted and I named her after one of Cinderella's mice because that is my fave disney princess. Her name is Perla and she is about 9 months old. We also have a 2 year old wiener dog named Zoey that lives with my parents because she is bff's with their choc lab Charlie and we can't bare to separate them. They get depressed when they have to spend any time apart from each other. Hopefully some day we'll be able to break up the pair as I want my puppy back!

Me: I'm 25 years old and I went to disney once as a child with my parents and sister, but it was amazing and we had a wonderful time! At this time there was no AK. Only the other three parks. So when dh and I went for the first time in dec of 06' I had a blast exploring AK. As I said Cinderella is my favorite, but I have many characters that I love! Don't we all? This is the third trip dh and I have taken together, but our first trip to the world as mr. and mrs.

Dh: He is 27 and he had been to disney a few times as a kid and had actually been to AK one of those times. I don't really think he has a favorite character, but he always stands in line for meet and greets with me. He'd rather take pictures of me meeting them than actually be in the picture, but if there is a photopass person he'll get in the pic. He got me started on pin trading during our 06' trip and I think he is actually the bigger trader now. It has come to be a huge thing in our household and when we go down to disney. Many of pins have come from ebay or disney shopping. He loves to suprise me and is very good at it! He proposed to me at CRT dec 16th 2006.

Now on with our trippie! We live in Lynchburg, Va and the richmond airport was the closest to us so we decided to make the two and a half hour drive the day before our flight and stay in a hotel near the airport so that we wouldn't have to worry about traffic or anything friday morning. Also they offered a park and ride deal, which was better than us paying for parking at the airport for two weeks. We got a shuttle to the airport on friday morning. It was about five minutes away so we were really close and didn't have to rush or worry about being late or anything like that. Up next: Our travel day and how I sent up red flags with security.

Our flight was suppose to be out of Richmond international airport at noon, but it got delayed by about 30-40 minutes. (They told us this when we were checking our bags.) Normally this wouldn’t be a biggie, but we had a connecting flight in Atlanta that we needed to catch. They have flights out of Atlanta to Orlando about every hour the lady told us, but we wanted to be on the flight we had because we just wanted to get there!

My tickets were in my maiden name (because we had vouchers that were in my maiden name), which apparently set off red flags as far as security is concerned so I had to go through special security, but the lady was very nice and friendly and made the process a breeze. I actually got through faster than DH. We had a bagel for breakfast and waited at our gate.

The flight was uneventful and we got to Atlanta with very little time to spare and our gate was all the way across the airport. If anyone knows the Atlanta airport then you know it is by no means small. So we were practically running to make our connecting flight. We got there when they were making the last call for boarding and got on the plane just in the nick of time.

We had first class on both flights(dh supirsed me with this…all along he had been telling me we were going to be sitting in coach unless we could upgrade at the last minute, which I didn’t really care. I just know he is more comfortable in first class because there is more room.) We flew delta, which we never had before, but since they are merging with northwest that’s the flight we got booked on. (he actually booked them on northwests site, but they put us on the delta planes.) Which is fine by me b/c on our second flight they had the tvs in front of everyones seats to watch, which I thought was really cool because I had never been on a plane that had little tvs for everybody to watch.

This flight to was uneventful and in no time we were at Orlando international riding the wanna be monorail to the other side of the terminal to check in with magical express. There was no line for magical express check in or for our bus. We got on the bus and sat for a while since we were the only two on it. Eventually we had a full bus and were on our way. First stop was Pop Century. Nobody was going to CSR so we got to skip straight to AKL!!!!

We got our $200 gift card when we checked in as part of the 4/3 deal they’re running right now. Hurray for free souvie money! We went to our room and dropped our stuff off and chilled a bit. I called my parents(separately b/c my mom was home, but my dad was at work.) and talked to them a bit and then we decided we were going to get some dinner at DTD.

When we got there we stopped at the design a tee shop first. It was super crowded!!! I know the shop is pretty new so I kind of figured that it would be crazy busy. We stood in line forever waiting to give the cashier our tickets and to pay. Like I said though this was later at night when people were probably on their way out and stopping to pick up their shirts or doing it on their way out.

We each made a shirt that said our first trip as mr and mrs and then I made a longsleeve tee that says why yes I’m a princess. Then at the bottom where you can add your own font I put and I married my prince.

Afterwards we ate dinner at earl of sandwich. This place is so delicious! If you haven’t ate here you should! I had the Italian with no tomatoes and dh had the hawaiian bbq. Afterwards we went to look at the pin store and talked to what dh calls the “crazy people” outside. Now if you are a big trader that trades out there…it is not meant to offend…those people are just most times very hardcore and passionate about their collection and we have met a few that were even a little crazy. Hence the name.

We did trade with a few of them. They were all very nice! The one girl my age had a pin that I wanted, but she didn’t want to give it up. I understand though because there are pins I have that I wouldn’t trade for anything! We went in the Winnie the pooh store and in world of Disney and then were on our way out to catch the bus and go back to AKL since we had a early morning at MK. When we got back to the resort magical express had delivered our bags. I love them…they make the process of traveling so much easier!

We had the savannah view at AKL with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds because that is all they had, but it actually gave us a little more floor space than having two queens would and also gave us a place to sit our suitcases instead of having to pull them out of the closet every single day to get clothes and what not. I actually even used the drawers and put some things in there so I'd have to access my suitcase less.

YAY you started :) I'm glad to see your TR now!! Sorry your flight was delayed but that you got to Orlando safely. MCO is probably one of my most favorite airports in the country--I just love the hotel in the middle..it's soooo cool. And the wannabe monorail ride is fun too :)

Yep I'm going to update in a bit here...probably after I watch lost...we are all packed now. Yay! Going back to ohio tomorrow to visit friends and family b/c we still have some time before we have to work again. MCO is really nice especially since they finally have it refurbed. We stayed in that hotel on the way home...more about that at the end. :thumbsup2

Day One: Magic Kingdom (Monday Jan. 24th)
Adr: Crystal Palace~ 9:15

Weather: High 73/ Low 51. Light breeze and mostly sunny.

Magic Kingdom opened at nine today and we just missed rope drop by seven minutes. We walked down main street usa being greeted by all the cm’s with the mickey hands waving to us. One lady was even holding a stitch plush making him wave. So cute! We bought a autograph book and set off for Crystal Palace. Our adr was for 9:15. We checked in and took a few pics while we waited. It was taking a little longer than usual, which I thought was kind of odd and just about the time I was thinking this the doors open and here comes a sea of literally 250 yellow shirts flowing out at us. Two minutes later our buzzer went off. The guy told us it was 250 brazilians that were all part of a tour group. The place was pretty much empty when we walked in since they were occupying most of it. Also there were two ladies from the group that stayed behind with a manager and they were sitting at table by us counting out all the money and what not. It was an insane amount of cash.

We had a lovely breakfast with pooh and friends and our server was very nice and kept the glasses full. I don’t recall his name, but he was very nice! Tigger was trying to get rid of his napkin so he tied it to the poll next to us. It was kind of funny that he could do that with those paws and all. Matt made a comment that he smelled something and that it wasn’t him. All of a sudden the little boy next to us got down and walked by me and I smelled it too! I’m guessing he left his father a present in his pants. For some reason dh and I couldn’t stop laughing. It was smelling up the place, but luckily we were leaving.

Our first ride was the same as it was last trip (not sure why…think it just happened that way.) We rode IASW and it was a walk on. Then we got fp for Peter Pan and went to ride Winnie the pooh. We decided to by pass snow white at this point in time…we like it, but thought our time was better spent on Winnie the pooh, which I love and peter pan, which we both love! Pooh was about 15-20 minutes and after we got off that we went back to use our fp’s for peter pan.

After we got off Peter Pan we were asked to do a survey. Once we were done with Fanatsy Land and got a tip from a cm about the fairy Godmother (he saw my autograph book and said are you getting lots of autographs today? I said yes we are and then he let me know the fairy Godmother would be hanging out on the side of the castle today.) So we went to check the side of the castle…we even hung out a little on a bench, but no fairy God mother! :sad1:

After the disappointment of not finding the fairy godmother I needed to be cheered up so we went to the pin trading store in Liberty Square. The cms here were very friendly and chatty and we found some good pins on their lanyards. This was by far the best place we pin traded all day. After some wonderful pin trading we headed to POTC. First, we had to stop and see Mr. Smee and Captain hook because we had never met them before. Unfortunately, they had no photo pass guy with them, but the lovely cm offered to take a pic of us with them so it worked out nice.

don't mind my three layers of clothes...they were all messed up too...i made sure to try and fix this in other pictures through out the trip.

The wait for POTC said it was 20 minutes, but it wasn’t we went through the line quickly. This was the same way with Winnie the pooh. I say we waited ten minutes or so. We got stuck on pirates. It was right before the area where everything is on fire. We got stuck by the pirate trying to give the cat rum. So for about 15-20 minutes we got to listen to the pirate try to give the kitty rum. The boats actually started to go backwards a bit so we ended up hitting the boat behind us.

When we got off finally we got fast passes for whatever ride we wanted to use them on. We did the photo pass pics right outside POTC. Dh just ordered the cd yesterday so once it gets here I’ll be sure to post all the pics! The photopass guy we had for the pics was named Rafel and he was awesome! Very into his job and very nice as well! He took our picture later in front of the castle and remembered us and gave us both high fives. He told us he saw the pics from earlier and they turned out awesome. Although I’m sure he didn’t really see them besides on the back of his camera if he even did look there.

Also I just wanted to say that we are driving back to ohio tomorrow to visit friends and family so depending on what time we get to ohio there might or might not be an update tomorrow. I had not seen on the winnie the pooh ride before where toad handed the deed to owl, but I just happened to look over and see it at the right time on this trip. Kind of cool. I had never been on mr. toads wild ride...only heard about it. Dh is reading over my shoulder and was like oh you saw it? Oppsie...guess I should of pointed it out! Next time! Thank you! Dh took a lot of them, but I took some too...we had over 2000 pics from the whole vacation and thats not with photopass added in. Thanks for following along and thanks! I didn't get to post one tonight because we went to visit our friends baby they just adopted when we got into town. I got to hold her. So cute! I'll make up for it tomorrow though...i'll post a couple updates with some pics. I heart CP too! Every time on the first day we MUST have breakfast there! :thumbsup2

After saving dh from captain hook (you’ll see in the pics.) we headed over to the jungle cruise and used our fast passes since we didn’t really think we needed them for anything else and we didn’t want to wait in the long line. I didn’t care for our skipper, but dh liked him. His mic kept cutting on and off so I couldn’t hear him and his jokes weren’t delivered very well. My favorite part was when he told everybody to get down and the whole boat got down including dh and I. I think there were a lot of first timers on there. From the Jungle Cruise we headed to HM.

The cm told a man that the wait was about 35-40 minutes from that point, but once again we only waited about 10-15 minutes and the line moved very quickly. We were quickly finding that the end of January was a nice time to come as far as wait times are concerned. Also the crowds weren’t to horrible either. Aside from all the brazilin tour groups.

Once we got in the room at HM there was a girl about my age that quoted every single word and I don’t mind the people that all quote your ghost host because the whole room did that, but this girl quoted every single word loudly and also started cackling from the room all the way to the buggies and then through out the whole ride. I understand that she loves the ride, but it was rather annoying and took away from the attraction. Besides her cackle sounded more like the wicked witch from the wizard of oz than a ghost (not that I’ve heard any ghosts cackle, but you get the point.) so she was way off. Once we were done with our visit to HM we decided to head over to Tomorrowland. Stopping to take a few photo pass pics along the way.

We decided it was time to relax since we had been standing in lines all morning. We grabbed a drink and got on the TTA and took a little trip around tomorrowland. I wasn’t feeling well when we got off so we took a bathroom break and then chilled on the bench and people watched. We decided we were pretty hungry so we stopped in at Comic Rays and I wanted to get a cheeseburger or pulled pork, but I got the grilled chicken because I knew it would be nicer to my stomach since it was pretty upset. (I have a sensitive stomach.)

We headed back into tomorrowland after lunch to help buzz defeat zurg on buzz lightyear space ranger spin. Of course dh beat me (he always does!) And then what would a trip to tomorrowland be without a spin on the Carousel of Progress? I know this thing is so old and a after thought to a lot of people, but for some reason I love it! We did it three times or so last trip, but only managed to get on once this trip.

I forgot to mention that we saw the step sisters and step mother from Cinderella by the castle after lunch, but they were leaving so we didn’t get to do the meet and greet with them. I was sad as they tend to be very funny to talk with. Dh reminded me that it was only the first day and that hopefully we would come across them again! We did a first on this trip that we’ve never done before. After we had our pic taken by the rose garden we actually walked around the rose garden and took some pics ourselves. We also got to see the wishing well. I kept seeing it on peoples trip reports so I wanted to see it for myself and I finally got to! I love that it has the Cinderella characters on the bottom of it. So cute!

Since we were near the castle we decided to stalk the other side of it to see if we could spot the fairy god mother, but once again no dice! I was getting really sad b/c she is hard to find and I had never met her so I was really looking forward to it! By this time it was starting to get later in the evening so we grabbed a spot on main street u.s.a. for the spectromagic parade. We sat up front right by the hub, but actually on main street.

It was a great spot for pictures. When we sat down there weren’t a lot of people around us, but then we saw a girl from a brazilin tour group holding the meeting flag and before we knew it we were surrounded by about 30-40 people. They were mostly behind us, but they didn’t speak english so we got to hear spanish the whole time and I don’t speak spanish so I was a bit annoyed just b/c if they at least spoke snglish then I could be nosey and know what they were saying.

I put my head on my knees and took a little cat nap. I think dh accidentally bumped me and that’s why I woke up otherwise I would of slept a bit longer. I was pretty tired from our long wonderful first day and it wasn’t quite over yet! Spectromagic was awesome and we got some great pics!

Then we went to the middle of mainstreet u.s.a. to view wishes…it wasn’t to crowded around us and afterwards we went to cosmic rays because I was hungry again. I had a burger, which I would come to regret later. To get there we walked past the plaza restaurant and through the area where the noodle station is, which was closed and I think is closed everytime we visit wdw. Has anybody ever seen this place open?

On the way out we walked through the shops. I got a pair of gloves because it was pretty chilly. Also I started to hear the goodnight kiss and I pulled dh out of the store…I was like it’s the goodnight kiss! He was looking at me like I was insane, but I had seen it on some other tr’s and I wanted to see it even though it wasn’t a big deal. We went back to the resort and my stomach was super mad at me for eating that burger. We looked outside at the animals (there weren’t many) and then we got ready for bed since we wanted to get to Epcot early the next day!

Thank you, thank you! We love to take pictures!!! We have so many from our trips to disney. Photopass always helps out too! Its such a wonderful service to offer. Otherwise we wouldn't get pictures of the two of us together. Yes, ptr's and tr's rock! They help me get from one trip to the next. Although I'm not going to lie after two weeks of disney I was ready to come home. It wasn't so much disney that was getting to me. It was the fact that we'd just been away from home for a while and I was ready to be done vacationing. And I knew I was done vacationing on the way home and all worn out when I didn't cry on magical express going back to the airport. But alas I am jumping ahead of myself. Still lots to tell and lots of pictures to share! Dh might be cooking up some videos too! So thats something to look forward to! :thumbsup2

Day Two: Epcot (Tuesday Jan. 25th.)
Adr: Garden Grill 5:50

Weather: High 76/Low 56 (Sunny with a light breeze)

This morning we got up early and were doing well and I was about to put on a little make up before we ran out the door when dh got a call on his cell phone and I knew something was wrong. He gave me the phone and it was my sister. She was sobbing and told me that our great grandpa had passed. He had been really sick for quite some time and I knew that this might happen while we were on vacation, but I had come to terms with it because he was so sick and he just wanted to pass away. He had a good long life…I believe he was 93 years old. There was a small service, but no showing because his remains were being cremated so my mom assured me I didn’t miss much and need not feel bad for missing it.

I didn’t end up putting any make up on b/c I was just going to wear some eye shadow and mascara and since I had been crying I was worried I might cry some more so I passed on the make up this day. After I collected myself we were on our way. We got to Epcot around 10:30 and saw the photopass photographer when we walked through the entrance so we stopped to get a few pictures before we were on our way to grab a locker and head for Soarin’ to get fast passes. The line was 75 minutes long. No thanks! Although it was much shorter than it had been the past two trips when we came both times in December.

I wasn’t hungry because I was so sad, but dh insisted that I eat something so we had lunch at seasons. I had chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots with carrot cake for dessert. I don’t remember what dh had. It might have been the same thing. Afterwards we decided to go under the sea with nemo and friends and rode the clam shells. It said there was a ten minute wait, but most of that was walking through the queue to get to the clams.

Afterwards we walked around the aquarium. We checked out the manatees. They were eating and swimming around. I felt so bad for the one because he was missing part of his tail. It had gotten taken off by a boat. Poor thing!

Then we watched the dolphins. They were also eating and being playful. Then we just watched the fish swim around. We saw some sharks and then we saw something I’ve never seen in the living seas at Epcot. We saw not one, but two sea turtles! I loved them…they were so stinkin’ cute! Then it was time for a visit with crush. I have to say turtle talk with crush was exceptionally good on this day. The cm who was doing it was really funny and the little kids actually asked a lot of good questions. After a refreshing dip under the seas we decided it was time for some character interaction.

We headed to the character spot. Last time we were here we waited for a good hour if not more. This time it was about 15 minutes and the time passed quickly because they have installed tvs that play old cartoons. Such a great idea! Two thumbs up to you Disney for putting up those tvs! The characters seemed a little rushed on this day. Usually we have great interaction at the character spot, but it just seemed off on this day. Maybe it was just me or maybe I was just imagining things, but that’s how I felt.

My wife wasn't feeling well today, so I went and bought steaks for us. Besides, I'm not one that likes going out on V-Day---it's just too busy and you have to wait forever. Plus we do things for each other all year. I did get her a single red rose ;)

I'm not sure how many pics we had just from the land portion, but between the two weeks without photo pass it was 2,000 pics and that was before dh went through and got rid of duplicates and all that kind of stuff. I think he said after he cut down we have 1800 I want to say? I'll ask for sure and let ya know...he is at the home office right now. And we just got our photo pass cd the other day and I believe that had 180. Not an all time high for us, but still pretty good and def worth it! :thumbsup2 It came rather quickly so many yours will too! I loved the movie! Matt said it was predicable because it was a chick flick, but I loved it! :thumbsup2 I'm sorry your dh had to leave town...I can def relate to that since Matt and I lived apart for months at a time before we were married. I don't wish that on anybody! I think we're stronger for it though. :thumbsup2 Thanks for following along and I can't wait to start reading your trippie!

Okay, when we last left off we were visiting the Character Spot (i'll post the photopass pics sometime today from that.)

By this time dh was itching to do some pin trading so we headed across the way and what do ya know? There were some people out front with their collections waiting to wheel and deal some trades. The one guy was the same guy from the night before. I don’t think we ended up trading with him…he was being kind of difficult. And they wanted to trade non limited edition pins for our limited edition pins…thanks, but no thanks. Not a good deal and you aren’t going to screw us over. We know quite a bit about pin trading and I’m glad when it comes to trading with these people.

The other lady, I didn’t really care for trading with her because she was to uptight about it…she wasn’t willing to let hardly anything go when we knew she had plenty of duplicates. We managed to get a fairy godmother and boo (from monsters inc.) and also a Tokyo Christmas pooh pin from her. She got the better end of the deal, but dh said he didn’t mind because they were pins I wanted and that’s all that mattered to him.

She said boo was hard to find so she wanted something good for it, but the funny thing is I found the same boo pin about five other times in the parks through out the week so it was a bit of a lie on her end. Also the pins that dh got from her (the five legged goat and I forget what else), but later when we came back there those pins were. She had acted like she didn’t have duplicates, but really she did. If you have duplicates why be so hard to trade with…if you only have one or two then I understand, but she had those in her own collection at home plus all the duplicates with her. They had a few suitcases full and the husband said they have seven thousand that is their own personal collection at home.

If we ever get that high…God help us! Lol. I know it could happen, but I think we are a long ways off. The whole pin trading with this lady kind of aggravated me and I was already sad about my great grandpa so we went to sit down and look at the pins we had got and have a nice cool drink in the shade as the sun was super warm on this day. After checking out our goodies and people watching it was time to head over to use our fast passes for Soarin’. We had to sit in the second row, which we’ve never had to do before.

It wasn’t horrible, but I would much rather sit in the front row. I’m not a huge fan of flying and I know that this ride isn’t exactly like flying, but I always freak out before we get on and I always love it. Someday I hope to get over this. Its so silly..its not like anything is going to happen, but I just can’t help myself. My favorite thing about this ride is the smells! So amazing!

When we got off the ride and were walking down the hallway and out there was this little boy kind of messing around and walking along the wall. Well he tripped and almost fell and I know this is mean, but I couldn’t stop laughing. I know that is super mean, but I was sad and then when he tripped it was the laugh I needed. Had he fallen I wouldn’t of been laughing, but he was fine and it serves him right for screwing around.

Living with the land had a two minute wait so we decided to ride that. I love living with the land and dh took pictures this time. I don’t think we have before for whatever reason.

Afterwards we headed to Mouse Gears to look around and pin trade. I found the second cat pin I needed for the set of five. And afterwards dh decided he was going to trade with the same “crazy pin lady” again for the other 2 cats we needed. We had found the completer and two others. We had dinner at Garden Grill so we decided to check in early because we needed to get back to the resort because we had a delivery at 7:30 coming to our room. We checked in at 5:30 and were seated about five minutes later.

If you haven’t ate at Garden Grill you should try it at least once! The restaurant rotates so you can see the different scenes of living with the land and also it’s a character meal. The food is delicious and its family style so they’ll keep bringing you as much as you want! Save room for dessert though…delicious!!!!

Chip was so cute! He was playing with this little boy at the table behind us and he actually got down on the floor and was letting the little boy crawl all over him! It was adorable. If I could of taken pictures without looking like a weirdo I would have. Lol.

After dinner we had to high tail it back to AKL because we were having a delivery. I forget who we went through (if anyone wants to know I can ask dh.), but you tell them what you need and they go shopping for you then they arrange a time to deliver it to you. I had forgotten my deodorant and normally this wouldn’t be a problem for most people because they could just buy some in the gift shop, but I’m allergic to most deodorant so I use a hypoallergenic kind. So we got that, distilled water for dh’s c pap machine (he has sleep apnea) and Excedrin migraine since I forgot to bring mine and didn’t want to be caught without something should a migraine pop up. The lady was right on time at seven thirty and dh met her in the lobby to pay her. Once he got back to the room we headed back down to the bus stop to go back to Epcot and catch illuminations.

Up next: illuminations and some more pictures...I'd finish this day now, but I have to go babysit for our friends new baby!

We found a spot around 8:30ish right by rose and crown and it was surprisingly really good for it being a half hour before Illuminations. The only time I have ever seen the show has been in December and it was slightly different, but not by much. Still very enjoyable and I loved it as always!

Once the area emptied out we sat on the bench and waited for everyone to work their way out of the park. After about 15-20 minutes we decided to venture out. To our surprise we found a pretty empty Epcot and it was pretty awesome!

When we got back to AKL we went in the gift shop to pick up our shirts we had made at DTD, but they weren’t there. There had been an issue with the one shirt size/color for me and we called them, but we don’t think they ever got the message so the gift shop took care of the issue for us and we had our shirts by the next day. We did some pin trading in the gift shop and then headed to the mara to get our free mugs that came with the deluxe dinning plan. We also used our snack credits and got some cheese cake, grapes, zebra domes and doritos. We filled our mugs and headed back to the room to pick up a bit and relax. We went to bed around 11:30. I was excited for the following day because we were going to meet a fellow diser and her husband!

Day Three: DHS(Monday Jan. 26th.)
Adr: 3:55 Brown Derby

Weather: High 77/Low 56 very sunny with very little breeze.

I was super excited to get to the studios on this morning because we wanted to get fast passes for TSM! Unfortantely the excitement didn’t outweigh my need to sleep so I woke up a little later than anticipated, which got us to the studios around 11. The bus took a bit to come, but I was impatient so that probably played a roll in making it seem that way. Our bus was packed! I got a text from disneymom1980 on the way over saying that DHS was packed!

Immediately I wasn’t looking forward to trying to maneuver through all those people. Our past two days in the parks had been so pleasant and I wanted to continue the theme. I thought well what is crowded to them? Because we came at Christmas time so maybe the crowds aren’t bad compared to that. No, they seemed worse actually! For whatever reason DHS was PACKED on this day! We all thought it was because Fantasmic was only being shown twice this week and tonight was one of those times so we thought that might be part of the reason.

We headed for TSM not expecting there to be fast passes and of course there weren’t! So we headed around the corner to wait for Studio Catering Company to open and pin traded while we waited. Found a couple good pins that we needed for some sets we were working on! Once Studio Catering Company opened dh went up to order our food. I had the pulled pork and he had a chili dog. I forget what he had for dessert, but I had the marbled cheesecake…yum yum!

After lunch we went to check and see what the wait time for TSM was because we were totally bumming since we didn’t get a fast pass. The posted wait time was 50 minutes, but they weren’t even lined up outside the entrance…everyone was inside and it looked like they were moving quickly so we hoped in line. I love the queue for this ride! So awesome! Did anyone have the over sized old maid cards when they were younger? I did and I totally recognized the card without even seeing the back. I said to dh that’s a old maid card…he said no its crazy 8’s and I said no its old maid and I looked at the back and I was right! Yay me!

We only waited about 15 minutes. I loved the mr. potato head…he was pretty entertaining! We loved the ride! I yelled out a few choice words the first time it started to whip us around because I wasn’t expecting it. I was like oppsie there is probably a kid behind us knowing my luck. Dh beat me…of course! I was beating him at one point for a very short time, but he came out on top in the end! Are there any girls out there that actually win? Let me know! It wasn’t for a lack of trying because my arm hurt from trying to hit things to fast. Hehe.

Disneymom1980 and I had been texting back and fourth all morning and she said they were going to try to get into the American Idol experience at 1:00. So after we got off TSM I told dh that we should head over there to try and meet up with them. So I text her to let her know we were heading that way and then they found us! It was so exciting to finally have our first dis meeting!! I gave her the pins that I had for her daughter, Anna and we chatted it up a bit.

The American Idol experience was pretty neat. It was really hot in there though from all the stage lights. I was glad that we got to do this while we were there because they were just testing it out…it wasn’t really opened yet. Disneymom1980 and I both voted for the same girl. This girl was really good. Dh voted for the guy that sang la bamba. I looked at him and asked who he voted for and he smiled and I said, you would! I knew immediately he voted for that guy. It was pretty entertaining to say the least. Afterwards we parted ways. We would be seeing them again at dinner. Their adr was like five minutes before ours.

Dh and I headed towards Beauty and the Beast. We have been to Disney twice and both times managed to totally skip it. This time around I told dh that we weren’t going to miss it!!! I love the Beauty and the Beast stage show! Dh told me to use our flip to record the be our guest song…well about half way through the viewing screen goes blank…I was thinking whats wrong with this thing did it just freeze? It comes back on and tells me it has a low battery in the middle of the song…of course! I was aggravated. This happened to us with a camera on our last trip. And of course the batteries we bought so we wouldn’t have to pay a arm and leg for disney batteries were back at the resort! I didn’t let that ruin the show for me though. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit!

Sorry to my readers that I didn't post today...I was busy shopping for our friends baby today! I was spending dh's hard earned money and plenty of it! :rotfl: Her baby shower is in about a week and we are all so excited for it! I've never been to a shower where the baby was already born! Afterwards we did a photo pass picture in front of TOT. The guy told us to kiss and kept saying to hold it. He went on telling us to hold it for a good couple of minutes. I started to laugh so hard I couldn’t kiss dh anymore or even pretend to kiss him. The photo pass guy thanked us for playing along.

After our mini photo shoot we headed over to a cart to pin trade with the cm there and we bought our first mystery set of the trip. The two pins in the mystery pack were fastpasses for jungle cruise and soarin. They are cute! I believe there are four in the set and we have the whole set now too! (we ended up finding the others that we needed on cm’s lanyards throughout the trip.)

We got a drink and were heading up the street when we ran into some street performers so we stopped to watch. They were so funny! The one guy kept spraying the audience with the “acid” and making the boss upset. Then he ran around the whole audience spraying them with the “neutral” solution so everyone would be okay. Then he was yelling…”I saved the people…yay!” It was very entertaining! When they were running around spraying with the water we got a little wet and I wiped my wet arm on dh’s shirt to dry it off.

I was glad we actually got to see a whole skit for once. Usually we just happen upon them and they are almost done. We came right when they started though this time. After some street skit fun we decided to head over to the animation studio to meet sorcerer mickey. We didn’t see him last year since they were redoing his former home and he is my favorite so I was super excited to see him again! Donald was in the little area next to mickey…if your looking at mickey it was to the left. Donald was upset because Mickey had a long line and Donald had nobody at all. He kept doing what he could to tease Mickey and they were joking back and fourth. It was pretty funny. One of those you had to be there to see it kind of things. We met donald after Mickey so he wouldn’t feel so lonely. He did end up getting a little line after a bit so I think he was much happier! After our visitation we headed for Brown Derby four our dinner adr.

Disneymom1980 and her dh sat diagonally across from us so when we spotted them I text her and when she looked up we waved to them.:wave2: It would have been nice to sit by them, but it wasn’t the end of the world and we were texting a bit back and forth during dinner.

When they were done she came to see us and tell us they had issues with the people who sat by them, but I’ll let her talk about that in her trippie if she chooses to. Don’t want to steel her thunder. :goodvibes I have to say this dinner at Brown Derby redeemed Brown Derby in my eyes.

The past two trips we ate here the service was just okay. Nothing spectacular and the food was just okay. This time the food was really good (at least I thought so) and our server was awesome! He kept our drinks filled (the past two times we’ve come here they’d fill it once then disappear and never fill them again.) Our server was Mosses and he was awesome!

After dinner on the way to change my clothes (I had on shorts and wanted to change into jeans since we were going to fantasmic. I didn’t want to be cold.) we stopped to trade pins with a manager. He had the pin I needed to complete my blue set of pins. Our hostess, Ethel at Brown Derby had the 4th on her lanyard that I traded her for. So I was pretty stoked to have completed a whole set on only the third day of our trip! I told the manager that my set was complete now and he looked at my lanyard and was like oh yea, you got the whole set, good for you! Then asked us where we were headed now and we told him to Fantasmic.

He told us there was a second showing tonight, but we told him that we had to go to the first because that was the one we were assigned with our dinner package. Thats what I love about the fantasmic package…you get priority seating at Fantasmic instead of having to stand in a huge long line forever! Disneymom1980 text me and asked if we wanted them to save us seats and we said yes since I had to go change first. It was nice of them to ask! So we got there and were chatting it up for a while until the show started. We were all having a good time!

After Fantasmic we tried to find a photopass person to take a group picture, but we couldn’t so we asked a cm. He blocked the flash on both our cameras the first time so we had to ask him to retake them. Usually cm’s are really good with cameras as I’m sure they get asked to take a lot of photos, but this guy must have been new or had very little experience with cameras.

After we had our picture taken we decided to head over to MK for emh! We took a bus to the contemporary. Since this is where they were staying we got to take a peak at their room. It was awesome! I so want to stay there! Especially being right there next to MK and having the monorail so easily accessible. We took the monorail to MK and once we got there we got a photopass picture taken on mainstreet u.s.a. Then we rode buzz together and decided to part ways because there was something they wanted to ride and we were going to ride tta.

Dh and I took a rest room break, got a water and got on tta.

Afterwards we did peter pan, which was about 15-20 minutes. We didn’t think it was going to be that long, but a lot of people were coming back to use their fast passes so all those people were getting on instead of the stand by line moving like it would have been had there not been all the fast pass riders.

After visiting never land we decided to do HM to see if we could redeem our experience since the odds of the cackling lady being there again were non existent. I’m happy to say that our HM experience was awesome! I liked going at night. It made it seem a little more creepy and also there was no annoying lady cackling.

It was a little after 11 by the time we got off HM and emh was only till 11 so we headed out of the park and made our way to the bus stop. I forgot to mention this, but there was a lady at the dvc booth during emh that we wanted to trade with. She had a board too that had some really good pins on it and one that we actually needed. She told us it was the leave a good pin board. So we gave her two of our limited edition pins. They were characters that we didn’t like so we didn’t mind giving up the limited edition pins and the cm was excited to have them because they were Jessica from roger rabbit. When we got back to the room turn down service had taken my blanket and wrapped up my bear. ( I always have to have a extra blanket and my bear to hug...dh made him for me at build a bear when my dad was diagnosed with cancer to cheer me up so hes a special bear.:) So I bring both from home. ) I thought it was really cute that they wrapped him up in my blanket. :goodvibes

Okay ladies and gents...I apologize...I have just been a babysitting machine this week and the little ones take priority over the trip report since we are visiting ohio and don't get to see them often. :love: On with the trippie!

Weather: High 80/ Low 58 Light breeze, partly sunny and cloudy

First thing on the agenda today was to get fast passes for TSM!!! We had the bug and wanted to ride again as many times as we possibly could! We woke up and got ready and headed to the bus stop for DHS. The bus took a while to come…it seems like this was a theme with the dhs bus. I’ve heard this about AKL before, but I think I’ve said this before…I believe dhs is the furthest away from AKL.

We got to DHS around 11, but it was much less crowded than the day before. We got a locker and headed for the fast passes for tsm. We were in luck although the return time was for 4:15-5:15. Still it was better than nothing at all and we were willing to take them! The stand by line said the wait was 50 minutes and the cm told someone else it was accurate, but it wasn’t! We waited only about 15-20 minutes again.

Afterwards we decided to head across the way to meet woody and buzz. A lady and her child got out of line and she was upset and saying this is ridiculous and this is so disorganized and just going on and on. I was like we’re all standing in line and its moving rather quickly how is it disorganized? Some people have no patience at all. I don’t understand why you’d pull your poor little child out of that line..they were getting pretty close to the front too.

We actually waited in woody and buzz’s line longer than we stood in line for tsm, which I thought was kind of funny. After our meet and greet we headed back to the studio catering company and got lunch. Then we headed for the animation studio for our first drawing lesson. We were a bit early so we sat down to wait. There were a couple cm’s standing there talking about housing and how long they had worked for Disney and also where all they had worked in dhs so that was pretty interesting. The one cm was off because she usually works backlot and backlot was being refurbed so she was just hanging out at dhs and had been going through the drawing class a good portion of the morning drawing different characters. We drew goofy. Dh never took pics for me to share with ya’ll, but believe me when I tell you mine sucked and dh’s was pretty decent.

He had drawing classes before though in college and I had no experience what so ever. I also have no artistc ability while he has a degree in graphic design and commercial art so he has a little bit of experience. We were going to go through again, but they were going to be drawing Chip and I didn’t really want to draw him so we decided to pass. I was hoping for Winnie the pooh or mickey, but no such luck. We browsed the shops on the way out of dhs and pin traded. We also did a photo pass balloon picture, which I’ll post along with all the photopass pics. It turned out pretty well, I think and it’s a different shot that we don’t yet have from photopass. After our photopass picture it was time to leave and head to MK. We took the bus to the ticket and transportation center and then took the monorail over to the magic kingdom.

Of course they were happy to oblige! :thumbsup2 You should do the drawing class...I have no artistic talent either, but you could still tell it was goofy...they walk you through each step. When we got there the parade was a bit late and there was a bunch of space open on the curb in the hub at the front of mk so we decided to sit down and wait for the parade to come since we hadn’t caught it yet and were planning to anyways. It worked out perfectly! I went and got batteries for our flip since we forgot to grab them at the resort from our room.

Afterwards we watched the daper dans on main street usa. We hadn’t watched them or taken any pictures of them before so I was pretty excited. I love to see and do different things and get pictures of stuff that we don’t yet have pictures of. Especially for scrapbooking purposes. They sang about me in their song as I was standing there recording them with our flip and dh was taking pictures. They said they fell in love with a girl on the street in pink and then said something about my big feet. I told dh…they made fun of me! He said well at first they said they were in love with you so that balances it out.

We had to head toward the castle for dinner. We saw the step sisters and step mother again, but again their line was closed so I was sad again. We checked in at CRT and got our picture taken with Cinderella and then headed upstairs. To my surprise we were seated at the two person table by the window and I was super excited since that is where dh proposed! I was sad at the same time though because I knew we wouldn’t be seeing a proposal since we were sitting at the proposal table. It was nice to sit there though and it brought back a flood of amazing memories!

I was trying to take a picture of the menu because I thought it was so cute on the back and our waiter told us, you know it would be easier just to take it with you. Dh said we can do that? He said, no I just told you that you could take it, but really I’m not going to let you. I liked that he was joking with us. It was a good time. He got us a good one that wasn’t wrinkled and didn’t have anything on it. So that was super sweet of him!

The fairy God mother was awesome and she even posed for dh to take a picture of her while she was talking by our table during her little show. Dinner was good and our waiter was so sweet! He even offered to take our picture for us. I forget his name, but he was wonderful! I should pay better attention to that stuff, but sometimes I forget to write it down because I get consumed with other details.

After dinner we stopped by guest relations to look at their pin book because the cm outside told us there was a pin book inside. Thanks for the heads up! We didn’t know! We chatted with the two cm’s inside while we looked through the book. We found three pins so dh traded two and I traded one. After our trade we left and took the pink monorail back to the transportation and ticket center. We asked to sit up front and actually got to so that was exciting since we never got to sit up front before! The conductor didn’t speak much english though because he barely said two words to us. He was from brazil and I think he was still learning the language. So dh and I just talked to each other and he took some pictures.

We caught the bus back to dhs to use our fast passes for tsm. We also got a few photo pass pics and pin traded on the way out of the park. When we got to AKL we went in the gift shop to see if we could find pins we wanted to trade for. We found the letter A we had been looking for and also the baby ariel for disneymom1980’s little girl because she was trying to collect the baby princess set for her while she was in the park and that was the only one she needed. So we traded for that for them. We also got our shirts finally from the tee shirt place in dtd. They turned out really great! I would highly recommend going there and getting a tee done at the beginning of your trip!

Since we had come back to the resort early to relax we decided tonight would be an excellent night to do laundry. We packed quite a few clothes, but we couldn’t pack enough for two whole weeks that we’d be gone since there is limited room for luggage on the cruise so that’s why we had to do the laundry. Usually when we do just a week in Disney we don’t do laundry, but since it was a two week vacation there was no way around it. We sorted laundry and headed down to the laundry room, which was thankfully right around the corner from our room. We put in two loads of laundry and then we went to the mara to fill our mugs.

About 5-10 minutes after we got back to the laundry room it was time to put the stuff in the dryer. Well the stuff that could be put in the dryer. I can’t dry my stuff b/c it will shrink so I had to go back to the room and hang it up to dry. Then dh and I sat in the laundry room waiting for our stuff to dry. It took about 20 minutes and we folded our stuff and headed back to the room. In case anyone is wondering its two bucks for a washer and two bucks for a dryer. A dollar for tide (we brought our own from home) and also a dollar for bounce sheets, but you only get two in a box so its not worth it. We didn’t use bounce sheets, but the lady in there told me so we wouldn’t buy them. I talked to my mom for a while after we did our laundry and we ordered room service since we ate at four and we were pretty hungry by now. That’s the problem with early adr’s. We were going to do dtd or another park, but we were tired and worn out and it was only the middle of our week so we took it easy and went to bed semi early.

Today was our AK day so I was hoping that it wouldn’t be to warm since when its warm in florida…it can be about 10-15 degrees warmer at AK! Luckily I think it stayed pretty nice on this day as I recall. Also looking back at the pictures I was mostly wearing a longsleeve tee so that’s a good indicator too!

We got to AK around 10:30. It was a nice short bus ride from AKL and we stopped for a few photo pass pictures before getting a locker. Our first stop was Festival of the Lion King! The line was pretty short and we didn’t have to wait long to be let in. Also it was very shady and cool so standing in line wasn’t so annoying because we weren’t being baked to death like you normally are standing in this line.

We were looking for a figment pins on this day to complete our figment emotion sets. There were two different sets and we were pretty close on both sets. We went to Its tough to be a bug and also had a short line for that. It said 15 minutes, but I don’t think we waited that long. After we were done with its tough to be a bug we headed for the tusker house for our lunch adr.

We had never ate here so I had no idea what it was going to be, if I was going to like the food..etc etc. I’m a pretty picky eater, but dh on the other hand is the exact opposite. To my surprise it was a buffet, which I totally wasn’t expecting, but was rather excited to find out! Breakfast at the Tusker house is a character breakfast, but lunch and dinner are just regular. This place is pretty big so I’d be interested to see how breakfast and characters work out. I’d think that they wouldn’t have a lot of time to get around and all that, but who knows. Its Disney and they are good about all that kind of stuff! The baklava here was to die for! I ate like three or four pieces! Sooo delicious!!! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Hehe.

After lunch we got to met king louie and baloo and we were super lucky because we were their last family of the day! Also we were lucky because if we had not got in line we wouldn’t of ran into the cm that had the second to last figment pin that we needed! It was angry that we found so we were super excited!

After all that excitement we stopped to get a few photopass pictures taken and the lady did the baby simba picture with us. Then she told us, but we already knew. Sorry to spoil it for her because she was super excited to tell us, but we had done it before! I was glad she did the baby simba picture though because we hadn’t done it yet on this trip and I hate to ask!

When you eat at tusker house you can opt to get the priority seating for nemo, which I didn’t know, but dh told me. I think you have to be staying on Disney property though because they asked to see our key to the world card to see which resort we were staying at.

So from our photopass pictures we headed to get in line for nemo. Luckily they were already heading inside so we didn’t have to stand in line long! Also we found another pin we were looking for on the way to getting in line. It was a snowflake pin…not sure who it was, but I remember being excited to find it because it was part of the set we were collecting.

We were in the midst of several sets while on this Disney trip…there were just so many cute sets out when we got there. The alphabet was the main one that was really popular and the whole thing was cm only pins so it was kind of hard to find them. Anyways sorry for getting off on a tangent.

Nemo was really good, but I was a little bit sad because the lady that did dory last time was AMAZING, but the lady we had this time was just okay. No offense to her, but the other lady that did it last time we were there had just the right energy for the part. This lady wasn’t bad by any means, but I just enjoyed the other lady more. We took some video with our flip as well. I might post some if dh gets it up.

After nemo we decided to head to camp Minnie mickey to see some characters since there was a lion king show about to start and we were hoping the lines would be short. This turned out to be a GREAT idea! The lines were very short and some had no one in them at all!

I had to go to the restroom first and while I was in there a guest was trying to trade with me…I didn’t have any traders on my lanyard…at that point I had everything on there just for show and dh had all my traders. The cm was trying to explain to her that I was a guest and I didn’t have to trade my pins. Also she went and got her daugheter and I’m sitting there thinking I just came in here to pee and now this lady is out there trying to track down her daughter to look at my pins because I did have some good ones on there. She finally came back and the girl was about my age or maybe a little older and she was like mom I’m not taking her pins she isn’t a cm.

So basically the mom wasted both my time and her time. If I wasn’t so busy laughing inside I would have been more annoyed. Lol. I had a sparkly fairy that kept getting a lot of attention. Shes the blue fairy I believe from pinocchio. Everyone seemed to like her and asked me where she came from or would try to trade for her. Funny thing is…I was going to give her to disneymom1980’s little girl, but then I became very attached to her once I was in disney and decided against it, but I still had other pins for disneymom’s little girl so it wasn’t a biggie.

You should see our collection...it has grown quite a bit since december 06' when we started collecting! There are a few pics of our cork boards on my pre trippie that you can check out if you haven't already. Some of our traders dh bought on clearance on disneyshopping, which is actually where the blue fairy came from that I mentioned in my last post. She was a mystery set I believe and I discovered I had another one of her once I got home so I am going to send one to disneymom1980's little girl after all b/c I have to send them that baby ariel too! Dh and I went through all our pins from our last trip that we had on hand and picked out some that we decided we didn't want and he also bought a lot of 50 or so on ebay and different random lots of 10 or so throughout the year so thats how we ended up with our traders. We just trade ones we don't really care for or if we aren't in love with it we'll trade it. Its can be hard to decide, but when it comes down to wanting a pin and having one that you might want to trade and you really want that pin and this is your last trader...then you trade it. :rotfl: And if I get one and decide I don't like it then I just trade it with someone else even if I thought I loved it at the time. I do that all the time. Hehe. So yea...oh and I don't believe we currently have any duplicates because those get traded too. All the "crazy pin people" that you'll see outside the pin shop in dtd or at epcot they have duplicates out the wazoo, but we don't hold on to duplicates because we aren't at disney enough to do what they do. Maybe someday. We won't be crazy though. And some of them aren't. :thumbsup2 Thanks for following along! :woohoo:

Minnie was excited b/c not only was she on my shirt, but it said I was a princess and I married my prince too! She loved it! She told us she wanted a ring from mickey and that one my size would do quite nicely. Work it minnie...you deserve it girlfriend! :rotfl2: I'd try for bigger than mine if I was her...I'm sure she could pull it off!

thank you...he still isn't feeling the best, but after going to the er once and being tested for everything under the sun they found nothing wrong with him. He got into his gi (he has crohns disease) and they squeezed him in for a upper and lower scope and saw a few ulcers at the bottom of his esophagus, but they were almost gone and the dr said it looked like they were part of a bug that was passing through his system. So thats all the answer we got was that he had a bug passing through. He was so nautious that he could hardly eat or drink anything for about 3 weeks. He lost a bunch of weight too. Hes still running low grade fevers...hopefully it'll pass SOON!! If the fevers don't go away soon I'm going to see if I can talk him into finding another dr here in Va since that was all in ohio. Thank you...those akl balcony shots were some of my fave of the trip! :thumbsup2

I jumped ahead and put up my character photopass pics before I wrote out the meet and greet. Oh well! Anyways so we met Mickey and when we were going to see Minnie she went on a break, but we were first in line to see her when she came back out and there was no one behind us. When she came out a cast member asked her if she had been kissing Mickey while she was back there and Minnie hid her face like she was embarrassed and shook her head yes. It was so cute! Of course they were kind of back in the little wooded area so if there were little kids around they wouldn’t of heard, but I have good hearing and I didn’t have anything else to pay attention to since it was Minnie we were waiting for.

Of course after she read my princess shirt she wanted to see my ring and of course she was telling her handler she wanted one. We made sure to let her know we’d tell Mickey. Matts shirt says first time as mr and mrs in case you can’t read it. Both our shirts we had made at dtd at the design a tee shop. I had the mr and mrs shirt too, but didn’t want to be twins with him. Lol. Donald read our shirts too and he was pretty excited about it. His handler had us kiss him, which I thought made for a cute picture! I love to have pictures that are different from year to year. Not just the same photopass thing every single year. Gotta spice it up a bit folks! I get bored easily. Lol.

There was hardly any wait time for any of the characters because FOTLK was going on and the parade was going on as well. After our meet and greet we decided it was time to pin trade and shop around a bit. I bought a pink mickey journal that was on sale! Woot for sales! We did a little pin trading as well before leaving for the day. We stopped at the locker to get our stuff and to take a picture of the truck with Minnie, mickey and friends on it. We then headed for AKL for a snack and relaxation. What better place for a snack and relaxtion than our balcony?!

Around seven or so we headed to DTD and ate at Earl of Sandwhich…I know that we had ate here earlier in the trip, but its so freakin’ delicious that I couldn’t resist at least one more time!!! Of course, what is a trip to DTD without dh having to stop by and see the crazy pin trading people!

The lady we had traded with at Epcot traded with us again and a little old lady who was starting to lose her marbles…I felt so bad for her, but we didn’t jip her on the pins. We gave her very good pins! I know other people probably try to since she isn’t all there, but dh and I would never do something like that. The last lady we traded with actually called some of the other pin traders there crazy and she said she was the most normal one there. Lol. She gave us eight of the letters we needed and we gave her two ap pins in return. Ap is artist proof in case not everybody knows that. I know I didn’t until dh told me! She gave us her number in case she got any duplicate letters during the week and we made plans to meet on Friday because we had two pins she really wanted that she was willing to give us letters for even if she didn’t find duplicates so we were pretty excited! We really wanted that whole darn alphabet!

The little old lady that I mentioned gave us a Cinderella pin I really wanted and mickey holding a teddy bear. They are so cute! I’m a huge cindy fan! She told me the same thing about one of her pins four times. This particular night we completed our animal set that is on a black backround, the people that is the same backround(they are silver figures on black), one of the figment sets, and one set of fast passes.

I bought a set of mickey through the years while I was waiting for dh to deal with the one lady from epcot because I didn’t like her at all and I couldn’t stand to watch her try to work deals with dh. Luckily in my mickey through the years package I bought it was two that I didn’t have yet so I was stoked!! I think I’ve already mentioned that the mickey through the years set was a mystery box set and that there were ten in the set and I wasn’t leaving Disney until I had all ten!

We bought a box on the way out for the night as well, but they were two I already had, but that isn’t a bad thing because they became traders. We decided to forego shopping to beat the crowds at the end of the night and got back to AKL around 10:30. I went to the mara to get soda for us and I also got some apples with carmel. Yum! When I got back we sorted through our mass of pins and got ready for bed. We were going to try for rope drop at Mk the next morning!

Thank you! The first year we went it felt like everytime we saw characters we were on our way to our adr's or to see a parade or something. When we got home after the trip I told dh that I was sad because we didn't get to meet as many characters as I wanted. So he promised me next time we went back we could see unlimited characters and ever since then we've done a pretty good job at being able to hit them up. We might have to come back sometimes like with the fairy God mother and the step sisters, but we still made it happen! :banana: They are the best thing...well I like the desserts too. Hehe. I heart minnie...she is the biggest sweetheart! :love:

So our great plan to make rope drop was flawed by the fact that there was emh on this morning and we failed to realize that so by the time we got to the park at fifteen till nine we were way late because the park opened a hour early for emh and thats when they did the show and all. We tried really hard though and I give us a A for effort because had it not been emh we would have been able to see it since we got there fifteen minutes before hand! I was rather annoyed though because we got up early for nothing, but since we were there we decided to make the best of it and it ended up being a rather good time!

We got to meet Mary Poppins, whom I love! She said chin up and something about reading about Ohio in her books and it was very cold there and her umbrella would freeze. Yea, well Mary we don’t have that problem since we are traveling for work and living in Va. Lol. I left that part out though. Its so much easier so say we’re from ohio and leave it at that.

We tried to look around for somebody to take our pic together, but no one was really around for some odd reason so we had to do it separately. Maybe next time! This was another first for us though. We had never taken our pic with goofy on main street.


We did photo pass pics on main street and pin traded up main street. Although there were emh hours the park was still opening at 9 for the rest of the masses so all the cm’s were standing on main street waving and that’s how we got a bunch of good pins. Dh and I went in a few stores too since he was trying to cheer me up.

I know it might seem silly, but this is one of my fave things about MK...when you go in the gift shops in the morning right when the park opens and all these guys are perfectly stacked up. They are so stinkin' adorable! Dh caught minnie and I having a tender moment...I was holding her hand hehe

I ended up finding this really soft plush mickey and a steam boat willie. I was in heaven because I had been looking for a plush I wanted since I collect them and as soon as I found them I told dh these were the two I wanted on this trip and I wasn’t going to change my mind! He was like well can we get them on the way out? I said yea, that’s fine, but we are getting them today because they are so stinkin’ cute! Come to find out I’m glad I got them this day on the way out because I looked a few days later and they were no where to be seen so I was glad I snagged up my new furry friends when I had the chance! Steam boat was a limited edition…I have number five hundred and something out of 2400 and he was made for the 80th anniversary I guess. He is just so stinkin’ cute! I freakin’ love me some steamboat willie! He’ll make a appearance in pictures later on in the report!

As we were walking toward the castle I remembered that I still wanted to try to see the step sisters and step mother from Cinderella so we made our way back there to see if they were out! There was a handler and she confirmed that yes indeed they should be out anytime now. So we just stood there and waited. I was so freakin’ excited that I was beginning to forget that I was upset about missing rope drop!

After what seemed like forever the step sisters and step mother came walking toward the meeting area and they were carrying on. It was rather funny. When they got to their spot they were going on about the weeds and how mother nature had it in for them because the wind was blowing and the leaves were falling on them. I don’t remember all what they said, but if anyone has met them then you know what I’m talking about. They are a riot!

On this day I was wearing the mr. and mrs shirt so they asked me what my last name was and I told them. They told me how a man named Charlie Butts on main street wanted to marry Drezilla, but she didn’t like his name because it was dreadful and that he would probably have to change his last name since she wouldn’t take his. They told me I was lucky to have a good last name.

They asked if Matt was my prince and I told them yes and they asked if he had rich brothers, but he told them he was the rich brother so they told me if I didn’t think he was handsome I should still hang on to him. Lol. After our fun shaniganians with the step sisters and step mother we decided to see if we could find the fairy God mother since I REALLY wanted to meet her!

So we basically sat and stalked her spot for about ten minutes before she appeared. Matt saw her come out the door right next to where we were sitting and he gave me a look and I was like what are you looking at me like that for? He gestured over to where she was and I jumped up out of my seat! I hadn’t even seen her walk out of the door because I was to busy people watching in the other direction. So I told her that I had been waiting for her and she apologized. There was no need and I made sure she knew that. I just wanted her to know how excited I was to finally meet her!

After our excitement wore off (and by ours I mean mine haha) we decided that we were starving so we each got a waffle and sat down to eat. It was awesome! I think mine had strawberries on it. I didn’t make a note so I don’t’ remember anymore.We had some visitors while we ate. These guys were all over the place. I felt so bad for them even though they can be very annoying.

We pin traded on the way out of MK and bought my soft mickey, steam boat willie and a blanket. We had soft mickey set home since he was a bit bigger than steam boat willie and the blanket as well, but dh let me keep steam boat willie to take on the cruise with us.

We stopped to watch these guys...I don't know about ya'll, but that song gets stuck in my head for like the next week!

With that we said goodbye to the MK for the day and headed for the monorail to get to our adr's at Coral Reef!!

I have never ate lunch at Coral Reef(only dinner), but I thought it was awesome! Although I must say I was a little sad that we didn’t get seated right next to the tank like we have in the past. Its always good to change things up though and we weren’t as crowded as we normally are when we sit next to the tank. So that was a plus! I don’t remember what we had and we don’t have any pictures so that is a bummer. We always mean well and say we’re going to take pictures of our food, but we always forget. Sorry about that! I vow when we go on our next Disney trip that we’ll def make more of a effort to take pictures of our food.

After lunch we decided to make our way around the world. We also decided that since we always start in Mexico that we’d start in Canada this time.

We also explored each country more than we usually do because I’ve seen so many things on other tr’s that I haven’t seen myself because we never actually explore the countries and just go in the stores instead.

When we visited the UK we stopped in the toy store because friends of ours adopted a baby girl while we were in disney and asked us if we’d get them a Winnie the pooh because they were going to do her nursery in Winnie the pooh so we got one for her. We are an awesome aunt and uncle if I do say so myself! (confused? lol we say they are our adopted brother and sister b/c they are such good friends of the fam. So we're aunt ashley and uncle matt.)

Then we met pooh, tigger and eyore. My faves! I heart Winnie the pooh and his friends!!! It started to rain a bit so I was pretty bummed because I wanted to meet Mary Poppins so we hung out in the area for a little while and sure enough the rain stopped and here came Mary Poppins walking out of some “secret door” lol and Alice in wonderland skipping behind her. She was rather bubbly. I know they have to be, but it takes a special kind of person to be able to fill that role just right! Kudos to that alice!

Mary poppins was wearing blue contacts, but they made her eyes look weird up close. It was a little freaky. Lol. She asked me if dh and I had a tea party on the ceiling for our wedding? I told her no, but we thought about it and said said it was the thought that counts and maybe we would for our first anniversary! Mary, you let me know how to have a tea party on the ceiling and I’ll be more than willing to do it! Lol. Try anything once right? :rotfl:

Alice was talking to the flowers, which allowed dh to get some good pictures. Alice asked us what kind of trouble we had gotten in to today? In which I replied to her all sorts and she said so you’ve fallen down a rabbit hole and all! Yep, sure we did Alice! Lol. She was awesome though! Very bubbly and into her character.

I was so mad because the beast came out right after we met belle, but I didn’t want to get back in line just to meet him and not to mention the line had gotten long in a very short time. No thanks! I met them together last time so its alright! After the small disappoitment we decided it was time to get the orange slush that everyone rants and raves about on the dis! We had never had one before so we decided to share it. I have to say it was pretty awesome!

By this point it had been raining off and on a little bit and the skies were only getting darker. It wasn’t looking good for us.

We headed into Japan and dh let me pick out two pearls to put on a charm that I also picked out. I was going to get a chain, but it was expensive and I already knew I had a chain laying around at home that I could use. Both of my pearls were 7mm and one had a greenish color while the other had a pinkish color. I didn’t really see it, but that’s what the girl said so I’ll go with it. While she had them in the salt she made a smiley face with her little stick so they were smiling at me. I should of taken pictures, but I wasn’t thinking about it so I don’t have that commited to the camera, but oh well. It was still cute.

We went outside and watched a little show. There was some lady telling a story. She was pretty funny. Then the skies opened up and we were forced to buy ponchos and run to the American adventure in the pouring down rain. Did I mention I was wearing shorts and flip flops and that the a/c was blasting in the American adventure? Not fun!

Has anyone ever seen the show in the American adventure? I thought it was boring! We only did it because we wanted to be out of the rain. It was freezing in there and I kept falling asleep because not only was I tired, but I was bored to death. And dh kept bumping me to wake me up. I was thinking to myself um…those aren’t real people up there and I’m not snoring so let me sleep. I wanted to just get up and leave. Lol. Sorry, but that isn’t something I’ll repeat even if it is pouring.

We also tried to see the candy lady in japan, but due to the humidity from the rain they canceled her show, which was a major bummer since we had never seen her before. There is always next time though! Our next country was Morocco.

It wasn’t raining when we arrived, but it started to when we got towards the back so we ducked inside what we thought was a shop, but it was the meet and greet spot for Aladdin and jasmine, but they weren’t out. Instead the genie came stumbling in through the gift shop door into the room. This was turning out to be a wonderful character day! :banana: We just happened upon him because it was raining and he was forced inside. People had been in line outside and they followed him so we had to get in line behind them, but we didn’t have to wait long. As I recall some rude family cut in front of us, but I didn’t really care since we were still going to meet him…I just hate when people are line cutters though and they knew they were cutting.

When it was time for us to say goodbye to genie after our meet and greet he didn’t have my autograph book. I’m thinking what did he do with it? He showed us that he didn’t have it at all and we looked around a bit and then I remembered that I felt my hood move during our picture. Sure enough I reached behind and he had slipped it into the hood of my sweatshirt. That sneaky pete! He was funny though and we had a good time with him. And we had never met him so that was cool too!

We did a rush through of the rest of the countries because even though it wasn’t raining hard core we were tired of being wet and wearing ponchos. My feet were getting cold from wearing flip flops and accidentally stepping in a few puddles. We bought some pins on our way to the lockers, retrieved our stuff and then got a few photopasses on the way out with our dorky ponchos on to record our first ever Disney rain in three trips. Not to bad right?

We headed back to AKL, repacked since we were leaving Saturday morning and there was really nothing better to do at this point since it was drizzling out a lot. We went to the mara for some dinner and I called my mom to talk to her for a little while. I had a horrible belly ache. I think it was all the Disney food. I have a very sensitive stomach so when I eat stuff that I don’t normally eat it comes back to bite me in the butt.

I felt all around crappy because I was still cold from the rain, I had a belly ache and it was super humid all day so I had been having really bad issues with my asthma and felt like somebody took away one of my lungs for a good part of the day. The upside was that while we were pin trading all day we found a few more letters that we needed for our alphabet, which put us at only needing four more! We went to bed early and were excited to get up the next morning and do some more pin hunting and park hoping since it was our last day in the park before our cruise on the magic!

Yes, indeed we did! It was a very wonderful character day and a wonderful character experience this time at the world in general!!! This was our last day in the parks and we had a full day ahead of us with two adrs!

We got to the bus stop and it was raining so I wasn’t to happy. I was praying that the rain would stop so we could enjoy our last day in the world! We took the bus to mk and then hoped on the monorail to GF. We were about ten minutes late because the mk bus took forever to get to akl. We ate dinner at 1900 Park Faire in 07' and it was okay, but the character interaction more than made up for it!

The breakfast was just standard breakfast food, but once again our character experience more than made up for it! I was also excited to find out that characters were different between dinner and breakfast. We got to meet mary poppins, alice in wonderland, tigger and the mad hatter. I loved the mad hatters big shoes!!! Also as I mentioned earlier alice was standing with her toes pointed out and her heels together here too.

When the two of them came to our table they asked where we were from and we replied Ohio. They said that’s the song that the dwarfs are always singing and they broke out in a little song so that was pretty funny. When it was picture time they posed beside me and said smile like a cheshire cat and say tea. I loved them! They were a blast!

Tigger got mad at me because I thought he wanted my autograph book, but he really wanted my hand so he could kiss it. So he put down my autograph book and took my hand and kissed it. Who knew that tigger was such a sweetheart? :love: This wasn’t the only stop tigger made by our table. Later on he came by and was looking at me tapping his foot because there was only a Danish on my plate along with some toast. This was my second plate of food so we had to let him know that I had another plate of food before he came along. Please, dh would not only let me eat toast and a danish. He knows I’d be starving in less than a hour. Lol. At the end of our meal he stopped by once again and asked us if it was good (he rubbed his belly and pointed at the food) and we told him it was very good and we were full. Thanks for caring tigger! We heart you!

I forgot to mention pooh was at breakfast too, but he snubbed us. He walked by and we thought maybe he’d come back, but he never did. What the heck man? Dosen’t he know we love him?! Tigger more than made up for it though at least! Also I have to apologize because dh is a picture snob and won't put anything up if its even slightly blurry and I guess the mary poppins pictures were a little blurry so he won't post them for me to post.

It was still raining when breakfast was over so we bought a few pins in one of the stores and decided that since it was raining and we had been trying to figure out a time to go to the dvc presentation all week that right now would be a good time to do so. It’d keep us out of the rain, get us a $100 gift card (a special offer only at akl while we were there or so the guy at the dvc station at akl said.) They had been calling our room all week trying to get us to come. Now they were getting their wish.

So we went to the dvc desk and talked to the guy and he got us a van over to SSR. We have looked into dvc back in December 06, but we were only engaged and didn’t really think it was a good fit for us at the time. We got to see the models for BLT and AKL. Both very awesome! We were in love with BLT!! :love: We asked our questions and told our nice lady that we would think about it and she told us to go to the presentation on the ship as well because sometimes they have better incentives for joining on the ship then they do when you visit the world. Not that the incentives are reason to join, but it didn’t hurt to take another listen especially since we were kind of thinking about it.

A nice man took us to dhs afterwards. It wasn’t raining anymore. Yay! I was so happy that we decided to check out the dvc stuff while we waited out the rain! Good way to waste a little time and stay dry!:thumbsup2 We shopped, pin traded, met lighting maqueen and tow mater and mike from monsters inc. Sully was going to be back in a little while, but we wanted to get going because we were going to shop our way out of the park and bid farewell to dhs for our last time this trip!

As we were walking through the different stores we heard the street characters outside talking so we ducked outside to see what was going on. I have never seen so many street characters out at one! They were out entertaining before the block party bash. I took one guys picture and he asked me, did you just take my picture? I said yes, I did and he informed me he wasn’t ready yet.

Then he proceeded to get ready and posed for me. He told me he needed to look his best and that he dosen’t pose for just anybody. It was hilarious!

He was also making fun of a lady on her cell phone. He had his own cell phone (a big huge one from the hay day.) he was saying look at me I’m on my cell phone I think I’m so important. You just had to be there, but it was great! The police officer posed for me too when he realized I was trying to take his picture.

We had such great character interaction in that aspect while we were in Disney! After a few laughs we continued shopping our way out of DHS as the block party bash was going on. As we bid a farewell to DHS we headed to the bus stop to take the bus to TTC and from there we caught the monorail to MK.

I'll post the rest of the update next time, but for now I'll post the rest of our photo pass pics since there aren't a lot left.

Yea...they weren't very smart...oh well...I didn't really care...I just did it for dh because he likes them, but I've never seen cars. Thanks! Me too! It was just so stinkin' cold! I had on a tank top, long sleeve tee, a hoodie and then I bought a mickey hoodie and put that on over the other hoodie and finally started to be warm plus I had mickey gloves. Its weird because the rest of the week we were in shorts and tee shirts. Oh well...can't complain if thats the case:thumbsup2 One more mini update before I start talking about the cruise, which was awesome! :banana:

We try...there was no sense in being upset about it...that would just of ruined the day instead we sucked it up and did what we could do while trying to stay the driest we could. :thumbsup2 Now had it been like that the whole trip I can't guarantee that we would of had such great attitudes. :goodvibes I'm going to do a little update later on tonight so stay tuned. Not to mention its slightly heavy. I bought dh a bagallini in black for Christmas and that was my subtle hint at him that he'd be carrying the camera in disney. :thumbsup2:rotfl: He carried it on the last trip too though so I give him props for that. :thumbsup2 I know what you mean about being clumsy though I dropped our lens cap in the river at my parents camp ground this summer. It wasn't my fault though because the darn thing popped right off my camera when I bent over to pick up my little wiener dog. :rotfl2: My dad tried to rescue it, but the currant was moving to fast and that sucker was gone. I felt terrible...we now have one that is actually strapped to the camera so if it falls off it dosen't go anywhere...courtesy of best buy:thumbsup2 No trips planned...we have been kicking ideas around though. We'll see what happens. I really want to go gosh darnit! :thumbsup2

Once we arrived at Mk we pin traded down main street u.s.a. one last time and caught a group of four cm’s with pins all at once. It was awesome! We had a pin trading hay day with them!!! We also checked the pin trading book at guest relations where I found one of my ten mickey over the years pins. Yay! The cm asked us what we were looking for and we told her we only needed a few more of the letters from the alphabet. She told us she was going to look in the back and see if there were any, but she didn’t have any back there. She apologized, but it wasn’t her fault and we weren’t upset. It was nice that she even offered to look in the first place!

We took a few pictures of the band on main street since we had never seen them before and then we headed back to toon town to visit mickey and minnies house.

Unfortantely the cheerleaders had invaded on this day and they were EVERYWHERE! Including minnies house so it was a zoo in there. Poor Minnie, she was probably overwhelmed with all those people in her house.

We went in the shop that’s in toon town and bought some very cute onsies for our friends new baby! Little miss Kaelee.

Matt got me a mickey and Minnie. I think I mentioned I collect these guys. I have the pretty big sized ones then the huggable size and then I got these guys. I call them extra medium. I don’t think I have a picture of them because they got sent directly home from Disney since there was no room to carry them with us to the ship.

Here is a pic of my little collection before the trip...I have the size between the little guys in front and the big guys in back now! :banana: They are so stinkin' cute sitting in my spare bedroom all lined up. Haha Okay on with the report now!

I hate leaving MK on the last day. Its so stinkin’ sad! We got on the monorail and headed for the contemporary resort. We had dinner reservations for California Grill. Its weird because you have to check in at a desk on one floor and then when your buzzer goes off you take it over to the elevators and someone lets you in the elevator to the top floor where the restaurant is.

We had to wait about ten minutes because we were a little bit late and the line to check in was a little long. We had never been to California Grill before so I was pretty excited/scared (scared I wouldn’t like the food because I’m a picky eater.) I didn’t know what to expect and I hadn’t really heard much about it either.

Well I had no reason to be worried or scared at all. It was awesome and the food was delicious! We were in a little room to the back and we had a view of the epcot ball,which was pretty cool until it got a little to dark for us to see it. Still very awesome though! We wanted a view of the castle, but of course everybody wants a view of the castle so that’s hard to fulfill that request. We were happy with our seats though and had a wonderful time!

We got done with dessert when they were giving the ten minute warning for wishes. There is a observation deck that you can go out on to view wishes. And they pipe in the music in the resturaunt and on the deck! Very awesome! We headed out to the observation deck and I would of of been content to stand near the door (I am not huge on the height thing.) Dh just kept walking and walking until we were at the very end of the observation deck and I was rather annoyed because not only was it windy and chilly, but I am afraid of heights so I am freaking out and hes making us walk to the very freaking end!

Well once wishes started none of that mattered because I only have one word. AMAZING!!! I’m so glad we were at the very end with nobody in front of us…..even if it was freaking me out. We had to wait five minutes, but it was totally worth the wait! I hope we do this again on our next trip!!! After it was over everyone shuffled back inside and we were warm again for a short time. Until we went outside to catch a bus to downtown Disney. It took FOREVER!!! (I'll post pics in the next post of the fireworks I think I'm close to the 25 per post limit.)

This was our last night at downtown disney and dh was ready for some pin trading with the crazy people! He wanted to get the last three or four letters of the alphabet and he wasn’t leaving without them. Dh ended up getting the letters he needed, fast passes and a ticket set he wanted. I also completed my mickey over the years set. Dh told me to buy four boxes of the mickey over the years and as I was opening them I got one I needed in each of the first three boxes so the fourth box wasn’t necessary, but like dh said if we hadn’t bought it then we wouldn’t of gotten the pin we needed because we had no way of knowing which of the boxes had the ones we needed. I was so excited! I had gotten all ten of my mystery set!!!

One of the crazy people had a door set of pins that dh really wanted. They are different characters in front of their stage doors. They are really cute pins, but I don’t think that the deal dh did was really a good deal, but he was happy so who am I to judge? He went in the pin trading store with that person and they pointed out something they would like in exchange for the set of doors so dh bought that and then they completed their trade. That was the one and only time we bought something for any of those pin traders the whole trip. So that’s a good thing I guess. It means we were good at working deals with them without having to spend money.

There was a guy about my age that was really cool to trade with. From him I got two minnies. One was dressed as belle and the other was dressed as Cinderella. They are two of my faves I have now! I got another princess pin that I don’t remember what it is and then a carriage that has Minnie and mickey in it. We had a few spare duplicate letters and those were what we traded for a few of those pins. I don’t remember what else we traded, but the guy was very easy to trade with and I appreciated that he wasn’t a pain in the butt. We went to the world of Disney and got a few things and then came back to the resort to pack up for the cruise in the morning!!!

Saturday January 31st
Weather: High 60/Low 41 sunny and windy

Today we got up at six a.m to get ready and finish packing our bags because everything that needed to be in those bags (really all we had were our pjs and toiletries to put in them) needed to be in them and they needed to be packed and sitting by the door waiting for bell services to pick them up because they started pick up at eight we were told.

Promptly at eight there was a knock at the door. We needed like two more minutes just to zip things up ( we had been moving pretty slow lol) and put the tags on. So they told us they had a few more pick ups and that they’d be back in five minutes and that we needed to be ready by then! No problem…we were ready when they came back.

We ordered breakfast after our bags were picked up and took our time eating since we were in no rush now. It was 9:24 and design a tee opened at 9:30 so we took the bus to dtd to pick up our tees we made for the cruise. (I forgot to mention this in my last update. The last night we were at dtd we made shirts for the cruise and they were way to busy and couldn’t get ours printed so we had to go back this morning and get it.) We went in there and it was so much less crowded than it was the night before. I highly recommend going there in the morning!

Dh didn’t have a hoodie and it was pretty darn chilly on this morning so we went to WOD to get him a hoodie. Once we had a hoodie and the nice cm cut the tag off for him we headed back towards the buses, but not without stopping by (you guessed it the crazy pin people) and yes they were already out in all their glory this morning! We talked to a few of them and checked out their pins as well, but unfortunately we didn’t think to bring our pins with us because dh was dead set on just getting those tee shirts and getting back to the resort. I think he was regretting it pretty badly, but alas all good things must come to a end and it was time to head back to the resort. We saw some good pins, but nothing worth going in the pin store and buying for them.

We did one last look around the room to make sure we hadn’t forgot anything and went to wait in the lobby for the bus to take us to the port. They had all the ship people wait in the little area to the left of the dvc desk. We waited for about a hour because we didn’t have to be down there until 12:15 and it was only 11ish or a little after. Uggg I hate waiting! I’m the most impatient person when it comes to waiting for something…especially if its me or the bus to take you to the gosh darn port! I called both my mom and dad. My phone ended up going dead on the bus because I forgot to charge it the night before. Yea, I’m bad about that at times. Lol.

I went out on the viewing deck and looked at the animals and took a few pics and soon enough it was time to go out to our bus!

Remember I’m impatient?:rotfl2: A hour and twenty minutes to get to port Canaveral from AKL. I was sad to say goodbye to Disney world, but I was excited to say hello to the Disney magic, which was going to be our home for the next seven days! (We cruised the wonder for our disneymoon in july.)

The ride there was uneventful except for this little boy that informed the little girl in front of him that you can get free ice cream on the big red boat whenever you want and also that you can meet your favorite characters. The parents kind of talked amongst themselves and chuckled that the little boy thought the ice cream was free (really mommy and daddy paid for that ice cream lol) Still he was cute and entertained us. Not sure where he got big red boat from? Maybe because the stacks are red?

We got to the port and went through security without any issue and we checked in and they gave us lanyards since it was our second time crusing we are now members of the castaway club, which is what the lanyards were for. After we checked in, which was super fast and easy we had to get our picture taken for security measures (I guess they just started this, but its somehow connected to your key to the world card so when they swipe it they know its really you.) The cm taking the pictures asked me if I had an engineer mickey? ( I was carrying steam boat willie in my arm…told you he’d make another appearance in the report!) I informed the cm that it was steam boat willie and he proceeded to show me the steam boat willie pin he had on his name tag. Very cool!:thumbsup2 Lol.

We got our embarkation picture taken, sanitized our hands (if you haven’t been on a Disney cruise then you won’t know this so I’ll just say that you have to sanitize your hands ALL the freakin’ time it seems like! Lol probably like that on all cruise lines I’m guessing.)

We walked across the little gangway and into the lobby of the Disney magic and were announced and then headed for our stateroom since it was ready. (there is a cm that asks you your family name and they’ll announce you when you come onto the ship and there are several cms to stand there and clap for you and then give you directions to the lunch buffet and what not.

So they say Disney magic please welcome for the second time the insert your name here family.) Its cute. One family on our first cruise had sailed 14 times!! We already had one piece of luggage sitting at our door when we got to our stateroom. The other three took about 20-30 minutes if even that long. They are pretty speedy about it. I plugged in my phone and then we went to get food from plutos and brought it back to the room because it was pretty windy on deck so I didn’t want to sit up there (I hate wind with a passion lol) We ate and then we looked out and we were starting to leave port so we went out on our verandah and waved goodbye to everyone. (dh makes fun of me because I love to wave when we leave the port…there were a bunch of people further away from the port that were just sitting there waving to the ship as we left…I thought that was really cool!) There were several cms on the Disney port balacony waving with mickey hands. They were so darn cute!

We saw some pelicans, which was fun to watch them try to scoop stuff out of the water. After we passed all the land and exhausted our waving I decided that it was time for a small nap. After all we had been in the parks for seven days and now we were on the cruise and it was time to relax! I woke up around sixish and we headed to the 6:15 show.

Lol...thats cool that you found yourself in one of our pics...crazyness! Hey...I would of taken a couple pics too had I seen the wedding...I love weddings lol. I wouldn't of stood there the whole time and been a burden though..dh would never allow that! :rotfl: Nor would I allow myself since I am shy anyways. No we didn't go to karoke...again i'm shy lol.

Thank you and thanks for reading along. I hope to update this weekend! I had to work today. It wasn't a land and sea package by disney's standards. Because they only offer like the 3day cruise 4 day wdw or the other way around and we did seven days of each so in essence we created our own package hehe. I hope you get to go sometime soon...save those pennies! :thumbsup2

thanks...this past saturday marked 3 months of what i now call the "mystery illness" and we still know nothing. How frustrating! Okay everyone, sorry that I've been gone for so long, but I am here and I am going to finish this trippie and I am hoping and praying that we are going to plan another one VERY soon! Also I still have a surprise up my sleeve for this trippie that I have yet to reveal so lets get on with it shall we?! When we last left off we were heading to the show!

The show was called, “All Aboard, let the magic begin.” They had a stand up guy named Rob Pearson as well as a musical comedy guy named John charles. Both were hilarious! The shows are in the Walt Disney Theater each night of the cruise and they run at 6:15, which you go to if you have the later dinner seating like we did or the 8:15 show if you have the early dinner seating, which unfortunately we didn’t. Boo! Seriously, do you eat dinner at 8:15 because I know matt and I don’t when we are at our apartment. It ended up working out in the end as you’ll see because we had excellent dinning companions!


After the show we walked back to the room to get our dinning tickets, took our photo mats to guest services (if you drop them off at the beginning of the cruise they’ll have the characters sign them for you and return them to you on the last night of your cruise.) We also got a extension cord for dh’s c pap machine while we were at guest services. They charge you a 50 dollar deposit (I suppose to make sure they get it back.) and then you get the money refunded when you bring it back of course. Sorry, but we wouldn’t steal a extension cord that we could get for under ten bucks lol. Rest assured we gave it back at the end of the trip! We walked that back to the room and then walked around outside for a bit until dinner.

We sat with a very nice couple named Garth and Kimberly and they were from Callergery Alberta Canada (I have no idea if I spelled that right lol) They were very nice, which is good since we’d be eating with them the next seven nights.:thumbsup2 (there is rotational dinning on the ship. Which means the servers you have and also the people at your table follow you each night so by the end of the trip everybody knows each other very well!)

At dinner the boat was hitting some waves and it was making me feel pretty sick during the first course. I asked dh if after the first course could we step outside for some fresh air, but as it turns out I was okay once we started chatting and eating. I had soup (I don’t remember what kind) salmon with mashed potatoes and chocolate cake for dessert. Dh had scallop/avacado wrap, the filet and scallops and peanut butter pie for dessert. I also forgot to mention we dined at Animators Palet tonight and it was awesome! We love animators palet. The room starts out black and white and by the end its all lit up in color. So cool! (sadly we have no pictures of this...not sure why since we are picture fanatics?!) :confused3

After dinner we decided to go back to the room and our stateroom hostess had been there and did turn down service and left those AWESOME pillow mints! She had sat Colin (my bear) and mickey up against the pillows, made us a seal towel animal and put my sunglasses on him and sat rext next to him as well. She also made my green blanket look pretty.

That’s one thing that we LOVE about being on the cruise they do towel animals every night! Its so awesome! As opposed to Disney where you have to hope you’ll get one. No guess work on the cruise! We decided to watch tv and hang out since we were both so tired. We had both fallen asleep on the bus a little on the ride to port canveral. I had to wake dh up because he was starting to snore! Lol. We got to bed pretty early...I know we should partake in the evening activities, but we had just spent a week in the parks and were so tired! Not to mention I was feeling sick from the waves(silly me didn't think about getting any kind of patches or anything because we were both fine on the four day cruise...well this is a seven day cruise...hello...of course I'm bound to get sick we are further out at sea and it was a bit rougher. Really I'm pretty sensitive so don't let me scare you.:goodvibes) I'm going to include a picture of the personal navigator it tells you the drink of the day, when all aboard is (if you dock for the day), departure and that type of thing. It also tells about all the activities and hours for everything going on all day. Your stateroom host or hostess leaves it in your room each night when they do turndown service. Its very handy! Sorry if its kind of blurry dh scanned them in for me. :thumbsup2

And the operating hours of everything for that day so dh didn't scan that since its pretty much the same every day. and I only scanned the whole navigator for the first day so everyone could have an idea of what they looked like in case they hadn't cruised. Feburary 1st Day at Sea (superbowl Sunday)

I woke up before dh this morning around 8:30ish. I knew the night before that I was getting sick because my throat was super scratchy and I ended up having some tea so see if that would help, but of course it didn’t and I was thinking to myself well maybe I won’t get sick maybe I just have a scratchy throat. Nope! Boy was I wrong and couldn’t have been further from the truth! I woke up with horrible sinus pressure and the worst upset stomach from the gosh darn ship rocking back and fourth. I wanted to pretty much die at this point. No lie! I fell back asleep for about half a hour and matt went to get breakfast for us. I ate oatmeal and a banana and prayed that it all stayed down.:sick:

I tried to take a shower, but I felt to sick so I laid down instead. I went out on the verandah to get some fresh air and we saw another ship so that was pretty cool. I believe it was the same ship that set sail the same day as us! We also saw what matt told me was a container/cargo ship. I have no idea if that’s what it was, but far be it for me to call my loving husband a liar. :rotfl::love:

Speaking of loving husbands! Matt went down to the gift shop to get me dramamine and I was going to try and shower again, but once again felt to sick so I took the dramamine, laid down and slept all afternoon. Matt woke me up to ask if it was okay if he went to take pictures, walk around the ship and play bingo. Yes, of course! I didn’t want his day ruined because his lovely wife was laying in bed sleeping. Its not like I was awake and miserable. I was passed out without a care in the world thanks to the dramamine.

Yes, I love scrapbooking! I'm trying to finish our disney 07' trip by the end of june...it'll be a task there were something like over 1600 pics its hard to weed them out! Of course dh had to go and print all of them too. :scared1: I am super behind I haven't even done our 06' trip when he proposed, but I think after I finish the 07' trip I'm going to do this trip since its fresh in my mind for journaling purposes. Then I can back track to 06' b/c the engagment is still very fresh in my head...like it was yesterday. :love: Do you scrapbook at all? Yea, it seems to be a theme with me...go on vacation and get sick. My immune system just starts to break down b/c I get so darn tired. I see you live in lousiana...where exactly do you live if you don't mind my asking. You can even pm me and tell me. thank you! :goodvibes He actually went to the infectious disease doc today (for the second time) I guess her and his gi got a chance to talk and they are thinking that he might be possibly getting fevers from one of the medications he takes to control his crohns disease so we're going to chat with the gi and see if he wants dh to go off that for a few weeks to see if we get a change in symptoms. If not then we are thinking of maybe heading to the mayo clinic or cleveland clinic...some place like that so they can get to the bottom of what I call the "mystery illness." Around five I woke up, feeling some what better and took a shower and got ready. We walked around a little bit and then went to a restaurant called top siders, but it wasn’t a buffet, which we thought it was(only for breakfast and lunch) so we decided to leave and get room service instead. Because I didn’t feel good and wanted to be able to pick from a buffet instead of a menu and nothing looked good on the menu anyways.(i think i got chicken noodle soup...i don't remember though.)

So we ordered some room service, rested for about twenty minutes and then went to see Bolt 3-d. Now I have to say I really was against going to this. Not because I didn’t feel good b/c at this point I felt decent, but I thought it was going to suck. It was actually really cute! We were thinking about going to see a comedy act at ten thirty, but it was only ten and I was already beat from the short time we had spent outside the cabin. So we decided to walk around the ship a bit then went back to the room and caught the very end of the super bowl.

I fell asleep for a little while on the couch and then got ready for bed, and took more medicine. Our stateroom hostest saw us in the hall and asked if I was okay (how incredibly sweet was that?!) She said I thought you got sea sick today (because we had the privacy please sign on the door the whole day) We told her that I just didn’t like the waves, which was the truth because I never actually got sick. Thank goodness! On the tv there is a station that will give you the report from the bridge all day so on this night I started writing it down to share with everyone on my trip report. It just tells the conditions and that type of thing.

Rough seas 8-13 feet (yea I kind of figured they were rough since I felt so sick all day…thanks for the memo though!)

Yea, it was def no fun...guess its a good excuse to sleep though. Lol. Today we woke up around 9:45 and I finally got up and got ready. We had lunch at the top siders buffet, which was Italian themed on this day. After lunch we decided to take a walk around deck nine before heading to the dvc presentation. (We had gone to the dvc presentation at ssr while in Disney, but remember the lady told us to check out this presentation because at sea incentives are different and also we were still very much on the fence at this point. ) So we sat through the presentation and found out the incentives and also won a dvc blanket for answering a question correctly. Gotta love free stuff!


After filling our minds with more to digest we headed for the promenade lounge where they were having everyone make their own little scrapbook. It wasn’t a big ordeal, but it was fun since I like that type of thing and matt didn’t mind sitting with me while I tied mine together and such. I still have yet to throw some pictures in mine, but its pretty cute!

I’d like to take a moment to point out the fact that I still was feeling sea sick on this day and my sinus’s were acting up horribly, but dh was trying to keep us busy so I wouldn’t be sitting still thinking about it in the room, which did seem to work for quite some time until my cold caught up to me (yep it was a full blown cold by day two) and sucked the life out of me.

We headed to bingo after I made my scrapbook, but since we were early there was a triva game going on so we sat and watched that, which I have to say was pretty entertaining! There are always a million things going on, which is why I love cruising! And if you don’t want to do any of those things you can go swimming or lay in the sun!

When it was time for bingo dh went up and got us the electronic boards since they fill in for you. Trust me…its so much easier! Esepcially for me since I don’t really like to pay super close attention to those little cards you have to poke. I have a hard time keeping up. Is it just me? Sometimes they go way to fast! The lady that sat behind us won twice! Lucky duck! If you haven’t played bingo on a Disney cruise…seriously you don’t know what your missing out on. The staff is hilarious and it’s a really great time! After bingo we headed back to the room to drop off the stuff we had collected throughout the morning/afternoon.

I decided that I was worn out and took a nap. I really wanted to get up and go to the golden mickeys at 6:15, but I think I slept till about six and by the time I got up and got ready there was no way we were going to make it down in time. It takes me forever to get up and get around, but they were playing them on a certain channel on the tv so we decided to watch the golden mickeys from the room. I know its not the same, but we saw the golden mickeys in july on our honeymoon cruise so I was fairly confident that I could live with only seeing them on tv.

After we were finished watching the Golden Mickeys it was time to get ready for formal night! I was super excited because if I have an excuse to dress up I love to do so! Not to mention we didn’t bring clothes for dress up night in july and I really regretted it! This time we were prepared and I was super excited! I even tried to coordinate dh’s tie to my dress. Cheesy I know, but I didn’t want to be totally mismatched!

We had dinner at Luminers on this night and were happy to be reunited with our tablemates (Kimberly and garth) and our servers ester and Dario! They said they missed us the night before and we let them know that I was having sea sickness issues. They weren’t having any issues at all because we came to find out that they live on a boat so they were used to being on the water. Lucky them! Dinner was really great and the chocolate dessert was delicious!

I don’t remember what we had to eat and I didn’t write it down. Sorry about that! Garth said he didn’t expect to see us at dinner because he saw(they had a room down the hall from us) that we had the privacy please sign on the door(we had it up because we were napping of course! But it became a running theme throughout the trip that they’d joke about our sign always being up. Lol)

We were going to get pictures taken in the lobby before dinner, but we ended up doing it afterwards so we wouldn’t feel rushed and the lines weren’t as long either after dinner.(either dh didn't scan these or we didn't buy them due to his glasses glare b/c I don't seem them on our flickr page)

After pictures we went to see the adult only cabaret show by John Charles. I mentioned he was in the show that was performed in the theater the first night of the cruise. Dh and I were having a wonderful time, but my stomach started to bother me (I have a super sensitive stomach) so after being there about 40 minutes we said goodbye to Kimberly and garth (we were sitting with them) and then headed back to the room. Dh said John charles waved to us as we were leaving, but I was just concentrating on my stomach hurting so I had my head down and was walking as quickly as I could b/c I wanted fresh air. I really wish that we could of stayed the whole time…he was very funny!

Once we got back to the room of course the ship was rocking pretty bad again and I didn’t have anymore dramaine and the gift shop was closed so dh called guest services to see if they could help us out. They said come down to the front desk and they’d give dh some packets of this pill called sea calm, which was basically the same thing as the Dramamine. So I took that and relaxed on the couch and watched tv for a little while until we were ready for bed. I just want to say though I wish dh would of known about the sea calm at the desk instead of paying like three bucks for dramaine in the gift shop because the sea calm was free. I know they just try to get ya where they can and it works, but had I known I would of just gone to guest services in the first place. :thumbsup2

Thank you! Well..it wasn't so much the waves that were bothering my stomach (well that was part of it), but my stomach is sensitive to some foods to and we eat pretty healthy while at home so to be eating foods I don't typically eat was really throwing it for a loop. Cruises are awesome you should try just a 3 or 4 day to see if you like it...thats what we did for our honeymoon and fell in love with cruising! Dh wants to go again very soon, but I want to try to go to charleston, s.c. if he feels better and we have time off. Thanks for reading! :thumbsup2

This morning we took our time getting ready because my head was so stuffy and congested I thought it was going to explode! How annoying! We’re on a Disney cruise in a beautiful port of call that I haven’t been to since we only went to Nassau on our honeymoon cruise and I feel like death! Seriously dh made fun of me because my nose was so stuffy that I was breathing through my mouth. At one point he asked me if I was catching flies? Um no and your def not helping the situation lol. :rotfl2:

We grabbed some lunch at topsiders, but it was an asian theme and I wasn’t very hungry so I just picked at my food. We took a few pictures since we were facing St. Croix and sitting on the deck already and then we decided to get off the ship and look around Fredericksted, which was the town we were in once you got up the walk way from the ship. On the other side of the island was Christansted.

Let me just tell ya…we never made it over there.(sorry karen I know you wanted to hear all about it:() Lol. I was saving all my energy for St. Thomas in two days! I knew there were a ton of jewelry stores in St. Thomas that were highly recommended! I know there were some in Christanstead too, but we didn’t want to take a taxi over there and have to walk around and expend my precious energy. (such a downer I am lol)

We mostly just walked around and took pictures. I was having a very hard time between having sea legs and having a cold. I was dizzy the whole time we were on land and felt like we were still floating (I expected this bc I had this issue when we cruised in july.) I just hate it b/c it makes feel yucky!

Our first stop was the drug store…I’ve never been so happy to see a drug store in my life!:banana: We bought some overly priced cold medicine and a bottle of water so I could get a little relief! Then we walked around. I’m wondering if Christanstead looks like Frederickstead because if it does then it looks semi run down and really old and historic. Some of the buildings were in bad shape. I realize their economy isn’t the best and that for quite some time they weren’t getting much tourism because ships stopped going there…something about drugs being smuggled. I forget who told me this, but rest assured it was a credible source.:thumbsup2 Even though the buildings look old and kind of run down I still think it was pretty. That’s just my opinion though and I like that kind of stuff. So it might not be everyones cup of tea!

We bought a few magnets…I know your thinking how incrediably cheesy, but seriously these weren’t just the cheesy magnets. They were brightly colored fish. In the shop where I bought these fish magnets the guy was telling me all about the hand crafted stuff he had in there. There was lots of cool stuff, but anything I looked at he had a story for. I appreciate it, but I start to get flustered and pressured when they do that to ya. Know what I mean? I’m not sure what the magnets were made of, but they were really pretty and I bought them for my mom because she loves fish, lighthouses…basically anything with a nautical theme and my dad compliments her nicely since he likes ships! We didn’t find him a ship, but its just as well b/c the few he does have take up most of the room they have for displaying.

What I loved about this little town was that everyone was super friendly and would say good afternoon to us as we were walking around. So sweet and friendly! There were a bunch of tents set up right by the gate you have to walk through when you walk from or to the ship. They had anything and everything you could think of. Tee shirts, home made jewelry, knock off purses, etc etc. I love looking at the jewelry people make…its so beautiful! I saw something I liked, but I was worried I wouldn’t wear it enough and it would collect dust so I passed. It was pretty though! Not to mention I was secretly hoping to find a necklace or ring in St. Thomas because when we went to Nassau I got a hearts on fire necklace. So pretty!

Once we were done walking around we decided to sit by the water in the shade and just hang out a little. We saw a gecko while we were sitting there…not really a fan, but he was kind of cute. We sat and watched the maintenance guys for the ship drive around the lifeboat for a little bit. Not that exciting, but we were trying to figure out exactly what they were doing. After we had enough people watching we decided to head back to the ship.

Since it was still rather early in the afternoon and there weren’t any activities we wanted to take part in we decided to put our suits on and head for the adult pool. We were in there about an hour and the water was the perfect temperature. When we got out we headed for the bar, but only had non alcoholic drinks. Lol. We aren’t huge drinkers…especially when I don’t feel good! I had some strawberry/vanilla smoothie thing (it was freakin’ delicious and numbed my sore throat so I was happy! Dh had the drink of the day, which I guess I lied…he did drink after all. Lol We sat on deck ten where it was pretty deserted and quiet and just looked at St. Croix (frederickstead) and sipped our drinks. A cm (are they still called cm’s on the ship? Lol) came by and saw our water camera sitting on the table and offered to take our picture. How sweet! Yea, still haven’t gotten those developed. Oppsie! Need to get on that so I can post them here!

On the way back to the room we stopped at plutos dog house to grab some food to take with us. I ate and took a nap. I wasn’t super hungry since the smoothie filled me up. After I woke up I took a shower and got ready for dinner. We were going to go to the show, which was Twice Charmed (we hadn’t seen this on the wonder b/c the shows can differ between ships.) I was a little bummed that we couldn’t make it, but I settled for watching it on tv of course! Very good! I liked it a lot!

After watching twice charmed on tv we went to bingo and I won a pirate skull filled with goodies, which I had no need for. Lol.(we actually ended up leaving it in our room the day we disembarked) I also won 100 dollars, go me! And I won the raffle prize, which was a DCL photo album so it was a pretty lucky night for me at bingo! Claire from England brought it back to me (loved her accent by the way!) and said that the pixie dust was with me today. Indeed it was! If anyone has cruised with Claire on their cruise staff she is truly a delight! Natalie was our bingo queen and jen was also on the bingo staff and sometimes Trevor would join in too. It was always a great time at bingo and I look forward to doing bingo again next cruise no matter who the bingo staff is! I was one number away from winning the last game, but someone else got it. Darnit! There is always next time!

After our excitement at bingo we headed for animators palate as it was almost time for dinner! We were walking through shutters to get to animators palate and I look behind me and there was pirate Minnie! (the door they go in and out of is right by shutters) I said hi to Minnie and she gave me a kiss. How sweet! We stopped to look at our pictures at the kisosk and chip came up behind us and was checking out my pirate skull that I had won. I think he was worried about who it might have been so dh told him not to worry it wasn’t anybody he knew and that we won it at bingo. Lol. He seemed happy with that and was able to move on. Some of our best character interaction was just bumping into them like that. Good times!

At dinner our table mates were a little intoxicated to say the least. Actually Kim was more so than her husband, but it was hilarious. Apparently they had rented a car in frederickstead and drove to christanstead where the Cruzan rum factory is and they went on the tour. They did some sampling and they also made mention of the fact that just walking anywhere near the factory could make you drunk off the smell alone.:rotfl2: I was rather amused and entertained through out dinner. Dh and I had a good laugh. She made mention of the fact that we had our privacy sign up more than them…wasn’t sure where she was going with that, but I had a feeling and quickly changed the subject. Lol. Didn’t need to hear to much info coming out.:rotfl:

I forgot to say that when we sat down at dinner there were bandanas sitting in front of us and our assistant waiter (whatever their technical term is) tied the bandanas on to our heads so we were all pirates, which is fun! We weren’t really dressed the part otherwise so at least we were a tiny bit festive. They were also offering kids cups with a glowing tinkerbell in either green or red. I got red since pink is my fave color and it’s a cousin of pink as I like to say.

So after dinner we’re on the elevator taking it to deck eight and this little girl was talking about tinkerbell and made some mention about mine (I had clipped it to my hoodie string) and she was like you have red and I was like yep because it’s a cousin of pink. Lol. So I showed it to her because she wanted to see it and then her mom shrieks OH MY GOD, can I see your wedding ring?! I thought she was going to grab my hand off lol. Like as soon as she saw it her hand flew up. So I showed it to her and she told me that she loved it. It caught me off guard. This wasn’t the only time I about had my left arm pulled off this trip. The next time is coming up later in the TR. So I told her about it (it’s a princess cut, but its turned on its side, which is called a compass setting.) she had asked otherwise I wouldn’t of bothered. So she asked to see it again and showed me hers (its was beautiful as well) and she acted like it wasn’t. She was like mine is so small,which it wasn’t as small as she made it sound. It was very pretty!

Her daughter was telling me she liked hook better (I guess they had hook glow in the dark things too…maybe I did have hook now that I think about it) b/c he was red and she liked red. Me too! :thumbsup2 She was super adorable! Her mom was very sweet too! We went to the pirate and princess party and saw the fireworks and then headed back to the room. We didn’t really care about anything else. I’m pretty sure we went to bed when we got back after watching tv for a while. I also didn’t write down a report from the bridge so I must of crashed pretty fast.

Its no Wishes, but its pretty darn awesome to have fireworks out in the middle of the ocean especially since disney is the only cruise line in the industry that does fireworks. :thumbsup2

Today we got up around 6:45 and looked outside only to be greeted with just about the most beautiful site I’ve ever seen! It was so beautiful! I was in awe…I swear if it was at all possible for me to live on the island of St. Thomas I’d jump at that chance! It was so pretty! There were little sail boats in the water everywhere and the ocean was so amazingly blue and I could see straight to the bottom…well maybe it wasn’t the bottom, but I could def see down into the water, which was awesome! There were little houses on the hillsides, which were so cute! I felt like it wasn’t real and that we were in some movie or something. It was just so awesome!

We got showers and headed off to breakfast. Neither of us felt the best, but we didn’t want to waste our vacation especially since we were at St. Thomas for the day! We got off the ship and both of us were swaying back and fourth…of course we had our sea legs when we needed our land legs.:rotfl2: It was like this for most of the day. I think that’s how the locals distinguish people. Lol. We looked in some shops, which were all mostly jewelry stores, but there were a few tee shirt shops too that we checked out. I saw a ring that would of matched the necklace I got in july while we were in the Bahamas, but I decided I’d wait on a purchase since we had just started our day on the island and I was sure I could find something else just as pretty at a better price! I am always worried that I am going to have purchase regrets. I was worried after I bought my wedding dress that I was going to have dress regret so I wouldn’t let myself watch davids bridal commercials or look in to many bridal magazines. Lol. Turns out there were no regrets, but I digress.

All the shops were starting to look the same after you go in a few, but its still fun to look. We went into a store that sold a lot of tanzanite. For anyone who dosen’t know (because I didn’t until I visited the Bahamas in july) tanzanite is a stone…blueish in color it can range anywhere from a very light blue all the way to a very dark blue or even some are purpleish in color. There aren’t many tanzanite mines so its not sold in the u.s. supposedly (I’m not sure if I believe this…I think they might tell you this to make you buy more of it on the islands.), but at any rate since there isn’t a huge surplus of it the value of it goes up every year that you own it thus making it a valuable piece of jewelry to own. Also the darker the stone is the more valuable it is said to be.

With that being said we stopped into this store called Jewels and diamond jewelers. We were looking around and I checked out the tanzanite. Keep in mind I wasn’t expecting to get anything on this trip since dh had spoiled me on our july cruise. I see a white gold tanzanite ring that has a pretty darkish blue stone and dh saw it too and pointed it out. He asked me if I liked it…um hello? I’d like to introduce myself…I’m your wife and I love jewelry especially tanzanite! Lol. :love: So long story short after checking out a few rings I ended up with the ring. Its so pretty!

We also got a hoodie for me because it was raining, but of course it stopped shortly after that. Go figure! That’s okay I didn’t buy it solely because of the rain. After our purchase of the ring, which I was super excited about we looked in some more stores! We went in this store that sold black coral just to look around because they had some cool sculptures amongst other things and I had never seen black coral so I thought it was pretty awesome. Well we left pretty quickly because everywhere we went in the store a sales lady was following us and telling us about pieces and then she was trying to sell dh and I both matching rings. We don’t matching rings not to mention the black coral ones were uglier than can be! Not to mention expensive! No thanks lady! Someone else came in and they distracted her and we ran! Haha…not literally, but we did get the heck out of dodge.

That’s the annoying thing about going in these stores, sales people follow you around like a lost puppy. I understand they are trying to get sales, but I get annoyed and start to feel pressured and just leave. The lady that sold us the ring was very low key and polite, which is why she made the sale!

After the irritating black coral lady we went into Cardow, which I knew from hearing the shopping talk on the ship was a pretty good place to find good deals and really great jewelry so I was pretty excited even though I knew my chances were slim since I had already scored a ring! I once again started looking at tanzanite and found two necklaces. I was trying to be nice to dh and I told him I liked the necklace that had the smaller stone because honestly I really could of gone either way between the two and would of still been a happy camper. I left the decision up to him and he told the lady that we would take the necklace with the bigger stone. The lady was very nice and didn’t hassle us and was also very informative about the jewelry and trying to work deals with us and all that good stuff. She also hummed a lot, which I found very cute. You could tell she was really into her job and enjoying life and I like that!:thumbsup2

We looked in some more shops, got harassed by some tour bus guys (expect a lot of that when in ports of call), and we had lunch at Subway. Now I know your probably thinking your on St. Thomas why didn’t you eat some place local? Because we didn’t feel good and I knew my stomach would tolerate subway because that never bothers me. It was very humid on this day especially after the rain so I felt very yucky like I was going to pass out so dh ordered for us and I sat down. I swear if I would of stood in line I would of passed out. I felt that bad. I hate feeling so bad on vacation! Once I started to eat and get some sugar and food into my system I was okay. We chatted and enjoyed the a/c and just relaxed. I think my blood sugar was low, which sometimes happens to me. It’s the worst feeling ever!

While we were in subway there was a lady on her cell phone while trying to order and she wouldn’t get off. The girl asked her what kind of cheese she wanted? The lady said any kind. She said do you want it toasted? No answer so she asked again and the lady says yea sure. Then she says put everything on it like she couldn’t be bothered to get off the phone to let them know specifically what she wanted. How rude! :scared1: The people were talking about her after she left. I can’t believe the girl taking her order didn’t lose her cool. I would of!

After lunch we headed across the street to the bank to get some cash so dh could pay the taxi driver because we were going to head downtown or whatever they call the part of st. Thomas we went to. Lol. On the way in we got hassled by some more tour guys, dh had to practically beat them off which a stick lol. How many ways can you say no? Dh kept saying no thank you, we’re not interested. Etc etc.

We headed downtown on the taxi, which is all open air and looks more like a little bus, but there was a nice breeze and we enjoyed the ride aside from it being a little bumpy, but who cares at least we weren’t walking! It was $4/per person to go downtown in case anybody wanted to know. I didn’t think that was to bad and I think dh even tipped the guy as well. We took pictures and used our flip along the way.

We looked in a few stores once we were downtown. As we were walking down the street there are guys standing outside saying come in my store and I’ll show you the best diamonds on the island. No thanks. If there are several of you saying it then it can’t be true b/c all of you can’t have the best diamonds on the island. Am I right or am I right? Lol.

I forget what store we went into, but the sales girl followed us from case to case and kept asking what can I show you and we told her more than once we were only looking and I finally whispered to dh lets go! We went to the other side of the road and went into tiffany and co. I have a bracelet from there that dh bought me when he lived in Washington for work a few summers ago, but I had never been in a tiffanys so I was excited to look around. I didn’t find anything, but they had some pretty stuff.

In one store I did find another tanzanite ring that was white gold and had a little wave in the band…it was so pretty, but they were going out of business and wouldn’t come down in price. So we said we were going to look around and come back. We never did go back, but that was ridiculous that they wouldn’t come down on the price. I’m sure they could of at least a little bit and she wasn’t even willing to ask the boss, which made me think it was kind of suspicious. Maybe not, but I was skeptical. She asked dh if he was going to let me have the ring and telling him it looked beautiful on my finger. Basically guilting him. Sorry…that dosen’t work on him.

We went in a store that sold a little bit of everything…I wouldn’t even know what to call it, but they sold electronics and that kind of thing. Dh ended up buying a zoom lens for our camera and he looked it up online when we got back to the ship to see if he actually got a good deal and he did, which he figured he did, but you never can be certain. I was happy that dh bought the lens because I felt like he hadn’t got anything on the trip and he really loves to take pictures (as do I), but it was mainly for him since he takes most of our pics. He told me he didn’t mind because he just likes being on vacation and spending time with me and he likes to do the pin trading and that is his thing, but seriously…I got a ring and a necklace and he pin traded. How is that fair? Lol. He has lots of toys at home though so no worries on that front. In fact he is getting the new iphone in a few weeks when it comes out!

We went into diamonds international, which is a big name on the islands…we went there in the Bahamas too. Dh ended up asking about the Philip stein watches because he had heard about them from the shopping talk that was given on the ship and he wanted a watch and this one is known as the “feel good” watch, which to him meant that it had a bit of a geek factor to it and lets face it and I say this with the most love my dh is a geek. He is all about apple and his iphone and he loves technology in general.

So the lady takes us down to watches international and there is a big tour group in there and they were almost done being helped so we waited and then a girl helped dh out. He started looking at watches and of course I was bored so I started looking at them too. I was thinking to myself yay, he is going to buy himself something this is great because I want dh to be happy too and get presents as well. So he decided on his Philip stein watch and then he asks me if I want the one I’m trying on? I was thinking um…no! Lol. I had already gotten to much and I knew these watches weren’t the cheapest thing ever, but he knew I liked it and I finally said yes. He made me promise to wear it if he bought it for me because I have the tendency to forget to put my watch on before mine broke. So I promised him, but do you know that I wear mine more than him, which I tease him about all the time! Lol. Also a side note…about a month after we had our watches we visited home and stayed with his parents. I was getting ready and they have ceramic tiles on the floor in the bathroom and my watch droped when I was putting it on and I spider webbed the face. It had to be sent to Philip stein to be fixed and it was the only thing not covered under warranty. I still shoot myself in the foot about that. I felt so bad..I was crying and dh said it was okay, but its one of those things where you just feel so bad and you know he is at least a little upset even though he isnt’ telling you, but I am totally off the subject here.

All I can say is I bet that girl loved us and the commission she got. For anybody who hasn’t heard of a Philip stein watch the feel good technology are these two chips in the back of the watch that are suppose to emit good frequencies and block out the bad ones. They are also said to reduce the amount of migraines, which was a big selling point for me (they didn’t tell me this I read this.) I don’t know if its all in my head, but honestly I don’t care because my migraines have reduced so that’s a good thing! So after we had our new watches we took a taxi back toward the ships and went to buy some tee shirts for my sister, her fiancé and my parents. We took a few pictures, said goodbye to st. Thomas and got back on the ship.

The ship left St. Thomas at 4:30. After we got back on board we headed to the room to put our stuff away and then headed to play bingo. Dh won, but someone else won the same game he did so he had to share the prize, which was fine by him. He won $67 bucks and also a dvc pin, which we already had so we decided that it would just be a trader. They were raffling off pins and the last pin to be raffled off was a limited edition 750 panama canal pin from 2008 and dh really wanted it. Guess who won that pin?! He has the most wonderful luck! This man plays scratch off lottery tickets and wins like $250 bucks. Lol. His luck is awesome and he was so excited to win the big pin!

After bingo we headed back to the room to get a few things and then we headed to see princess Minnie and sorcerer mickey. Minnie was posing and spinning in her dress and being so cute! Dh took a few pics of her.

When we met mickey our camera wasn’t working for whatever reason…maybe they didn’t know how to work it or maybe it was having a hiccup? So we just let shutters take the picture with their camera and then afterwards our camera was fine. Go figure! Dh ended up popping out the battery and popping it back in and after that it was just fine.

Afterwards we went to guest services there was a problem with dh’s credit card. He had booked the trip with a card that had a expiration date change and got that card right before the trip. They had the old card on file, which is what the problem was. With a new expiration date charges weren’t going through. So we cleared that up and gave the new card and were on our way.

We headed up to deck nine for a little walk and got some food at plutos and sat down on deck to eat our food. After eating we headed back to the room to sort laundry and rest. We called dvc because they left a message with us about setting up a time to meet with them. Our hostess came to the door and knocked…she said she thought we went to the show and to take our time she would come back. She was so sweet and cute…she always sounded like she was singing when she talked. I loved her accent. :thumbsup2

After about twenty minutes we left for the second round of bingo (I forget why there were two this day, but there were.) We didn’t win, but we came close. At the earlier bingo they had told us a phrase to say to get a free game of bingo when we came back later in the day so we did that and got our free game! After bingo it was time to do some pin trading with the officers, staff and also a few cm’s at guest relations.

The girl at guest relations about pulled me over the counter when she saw my watch. She said, is that a Philip stein watch?! As she was pulling my arm over the desk lol. Sure you can have my arm I don’t need it for anything. Lol. She told me she wanted one so bad. A few people had commented about matts to. His is bigger so it gets more attention. Haha. After our fun with bingo and pin trading it was time for some not so fun stuff. Laundry time. Yuck! Laundry on vacation is my least favorite thing especially on the ship in the tiny laundry room.

We threw a load in and went back to the room for twenty minutes until it was time to go check it. Once the laundry was in the dryer we hung out in the room until we had to go get it and then we went to talk to someone about dvc at 9:45. We went to deck four midship and a girl walked us upstairs to deck ten midship where there was a dvc lounge and dh asked Brandon (our dvc guy we met with) a bunch of questions.

Dh asked me what I wanted to do and I told him he knew what I wanted and that it was up to him. I had been dropping little hints to him throughout the trip. Especially when we were in Disney world and would ride the monrail past BLT…I’d say we could own there and this would be our stop on the monorail. Hehe. I’m so mean sometimes, but if I didn’t tease him like that he would think something is wrong with me. Finally after my heart about pounded out of my chest dh says, okay we’ll do it! Woo who! I actually said out loud…yes, I finally broke him. Lol.

I was so excited! I wanted to jump up and down, :banana: but I figured Brandon would think I was crazy! He congratulated us and then ran our credit check and of course we were approved. He told us a few things we needed to know and gave us some member hats and a small dvc cooler bag and we made an apt for morning to sign the papers and we were on our way. We have a free cruise to take…that was our incentive for signing up while on board and Brandon talked to us about that and when we could take it and that type of thing. We still aren’t sure when we are doing that, but I can’t wait! Free cruise! Woo who! We bought 160 points at Bay Lake Towers! Sooo excited! We came back to the room, got our laundry and folded it then got ready for bed.

Thank you...we are super happy! Yes, the pin is awesome...I think I have a pin...i'll have to post it...its pretty darn awesome! He isn't feeling well at all...we got called out of town for some emergency work in fairfax, va where we lived/worked last summer and sunday we went to the mall for a few hrs...he was strugglin...so we left and went back to the hotel...he had a 102 fever for four hours. He has pretty much reached his breaking point...hes ready to go to the mayo clinic (we go july 6th) not soon enough! And after yesterdays mall trip I see lots of solo time in disney for me when we go in a few weekends b/c there is no way he is going to make it all day especially in the horrible heat. Thank you for asking...your very sweet! :goodvibes

I can't seem to even convince DH to go to a presentation. :sad2: And he loves Disney as much as I do.

I just want to let everyone know that I haven't abandoned this trippie...in fact I really want to finish it b/c I want to do a little pre trippie for our small trip in July and then do a little mini tr for that. I said all that to say this...friday afternoon we got a call that we needed to head to fairfax, va (where we lived and worked last summer) because there were four emergency digs (dh is an office manager for a pipeline company) so we had to be up here bright and early this morning.

We actually drove up on saturday since dh isn't feeling well so we wouldn't have to worry about getting here sunday or even monday morning. Yesterday dh and I headed to the mall for a little while and his fever hit 102 and stayed that way for four hours. We are going back to lynchburg sometime weds because I have a flight back to ohio on thursday morning bright and early(to visit the fam and to look at bridesmaids dresses with my sister for her wedding next june) and I"ll be back in Va the 30th just in time to turn around and head to the mayo clinic on july 3rd.

Dh's appt is july 6th and we are going to disney for the weekend the 10th-13th since the mayo isn't open and doing tests on the weekends. Our first trip home is going to be at Beach Club Villa's since BLT isn't open. We've never been to or even seen Beach club so we are super excited to stay some place new...the pictures I've seen look awesome! I hope to get another update up here by the end of the week, but I wanted to say bare with me since we got called away on this emergency work...it has made for a crazy few weeks for me and thank you for reading! :goodvibes

Hey! Thanks...well we never got to go to disney...he was having to high of fevers and there was just no way he was going to make it in the parks. Not to mention he had a procedure the friday we were suppose to leave and there was a 60 percent of chance all weekend that weekend in orlando so we said to heck with it...sadly. We still have no answers...we have been at the mayo clinic almost exactly a month and we both agree that this is all getting a little old. Weds they are doing surgery to take out some pea sized lymphnodes that are in his belly and they are going to do tests on those to see if anything turns up. If not then next week they are doing a pet scan and they haven't said what would go on beyond that b/c I think they are hoping to turn something up from this surgery. Thanks for thinking about us though! I will finish this one day when I'm not upset and sad about my husband being sick or busy running to doc appts. :goodvibes
