Christmas waitlist

Hi everyone,
I am not an owner :(


I have had some great experiences renting. :p

Christmas week is the ONLY time I can travel on weekdays. This makes it tough for me to get a good deal renting DVC points.

My husband and I LOVE vacationing at The Boardwalk. For us, there is nowhere better! :D

We are on a waitlist for a studio for 4 or 5 nights (I can't remember!) during Christmas week. I realize that I am not so good at waiting! It makes me :crazy: !!!

I have made reservations elsewhere, which can be canceled just a few days before the vacation. I don't want to make a deal with any other timeshare owners (Vistana etc..) because I would want to cancel if The Boardwalk comes through, and that wouldn't be right. :confused:

There really isn't much anyone can help me with. Maybe just a few opinions, do you think I should keep waiting or give up and finalize some reservations elsewhere? I could get a much better deal through an owner than through a resort, IF I can resign myself to staying off-site. :(

This is rather long and I apologize. I am rather compulsive about planning, I wish I would just get over it! :eek:

Any opinions about what I should do?

It's too soon to give up on the waitlist, especially since it sounds as though you got on the waitlist before the 7 month window opened. It's JMHO, but I think that this year, there will be some BWV owners who are going to try to switch their ressies to the BCV. That will open up space at the BWV.

It's very hard to be patient, but if staying at the BWV is what you really want to do, I'd advise patience, patience & more patience. :) :) Good luck!

I am going to try to let things be for a while, which probably means I should stay away from these discussion boards! Now I see a reservation for rent, a studio at the new Beach Club villas. I emailed about it but I think they are asking too much for it. I don't think I would be as happy there anyway.
I'll keep waiting and hoping!
