I'm trying to get caught up- so sorry if these comments seem out of place. hehe

I absolutely love your pictures- they are so clear and beautiful.

I also seen snow white.. except my snow white looked different. hehe

It's funny how the kids like the little things or the pools. Its like "we are in disney world" and you love the pools. hehe But I've heard that a lot. I think its because its downtime when the kids can relax and have a good time.

Great updates!

I think it's hilarious that the lifeguard is bundled up in a sweat suit, but the kids are splashing around having a blast in the pool! :rotfl2:

Denise

I was in long sleeves while they were swimming! It took a LOT of convincing for me to let them in that water... :rotfl:

Hi, Jen! :goodvibes

Even now when we ask Stasia what she wants to do when we go to WDW again she says go to the pool... go figure!

After hitting the pool and relaxing at POR for a bit, we decided to head back to the magic Kingdom again.

We kept saying we'd hop on the monorail at some point, but with no ADR's to speak of and so much to do in the parks, we never ONCE did! So my kids (and husband) have still not ridden one. Bad Mom/wife. (Never fear; we have so many ADR's in November they'll be positively SICK of the monorail before we leave.)

This time we headed to Adventureland which we still hadn't thoroughly explored.

Tatiana enjoyed meeting Rafiki.

And then I was surprised completely by Jose wanting a picture too!

Then it was on to one of my other favorite rides...

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3615/3352991564_1ba1632262_b.jpg

Again, I am so used to the DL version of the exterior, i nearly walked right by this. Will I ever stop looking for New Orlean's Square? ;)

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3597/3352166637_488a0a3368_b.jpg

Kyle and Jose went on first, and made a valiant attempt to video tape the ride. (A for effort, honey.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1xnxQbt6Ls

Tatiana and I went on next but... well let's just say that photographing dark rides with a DSLR and no flash isn't easy! I'll see if I can do better in November. :thumbsup2

My husband gets goofy in the dark. And sings in Spanglish. :rotfl:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc9pxkvPIaU

We actually wandered across the way to El Pirata Y el Perico, but all they were serving was burgers... They were 'meh' but it was food which we were all needing at that point.

(Told you I was thinking of you, LL!) ;)

I insisted on taking the Jungle Cruise at night. It's a perenial favorite, as long as you get a good driver!

I could stand in line and read these signs forever. :lmao:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3598/3352285883_70f79ee1a6_b.jpg

Unfortunately (or fortunately!) there was no line at all and we walked right on to a boat. Very few photos without a line to stand in!

Coming up next... New frontiers and wishes!

I WISH Kyle would miss this in November, but he's really looking forward to having a house free of estrogen instead. I guess I can't blame him, having three little sisters can't always be a slice of heaven. He'd go if I asked him to, but I gave him the option of staying home with his Papa, so I have to respect it and not beg him to come. Though I do love his company... maybe one of these years we'll do a mother-son trip. Now THAT would be fun!

The girls and I hung out while Kyle and Jose gave BTMRR a spin...

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3429/3353109860_0a50e60f52_b.jpg

And as they came out to meet us and we decided what our next move would be, we began to notice this!

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3438/3353141400_2fd4f6af5b_b.jpg

Wishes!

We weren't in a great spot and the castle was mostly obscured by trees, but I got a bajillion shots of fireworks nonetheless. It was also at this point in time that we were reminded that my husband has a terrible dislike of fireworks, and loud sounds in general. (Courtesy of his time spent in the US Army I'm afraid.) Anastasia seemed to be affected by the sounds as well, and by affected I mean cried and covered her ears. The two of them walked away from the sound of the cracking and popping till it was all over.

I won't bore you with the tons of pics here (after all they all start to look familiar after a while), but I will share a few of them!

Day four begins!

This was the one rainy day we encountered in our entire ten day trek through Disney World. We woke up to rain and went to bed rain. But that's not all that happened.

On the bus Lexi started acting... restless. I took her from Jose's lap, held her on mine and tried soothing her, just as she threw up on my shirt. And it was at that moment that I remembered our youngest child has serious motion sickness.

Why it never occurred to me that she could get sick on the bus I don't know, but you won't see any pictures of rope drops or general park beauty after we got off the bus today, as the first thing I did was RACE to Mouse Gear to track down some new clothes. So looking at the positive side of things, Lexi and I got some new Disney clothes we might not otherwise have. :thumbsup2

After our quick change in the bathroom, we headed into the Character Spot to escape the rain.

Mickey even tried playing peek-a-boo with Lexi to make her comfortable. So sweet.

The rain had let up a bit after our visit with Mickey and friends so we headed over toward some of the rides to kill time till World Showcase opened. Stasia was so enamored by where we were, at one point she shouted out, "Look, it's the giant disco ball! I can't believe we're actually here!"

What does it say about me that my 3 year old identified the sphere as a giant disco ball? :rotfl:

Test Track... zero wait!

Well, except for me and the girls. We waited outside while the rain rain rain came down down down. ;)

Then we moseyed over to Mission Space where I let the big kids go with Jose again while the little ones hung out front with me.

The girls' outfits are cute. Isn't it sweet that little ones can entertain themselves with something so simple as raindrops puddled up on a bench?

Where did you get your D40? I looked at Wolf Camera today, and they were $500, but I thought you didn't pay that much. I really want one, but I may have to settle for something for much less. I would take Drew's, but he has to have it for school.

MeMom,

After looking at the pictures Sarilas took, I too decided I needed a better camera. I have found them to be in the $450 too $700 range (depends on if they offer additional lenses). I have been looking on Ebay and on Craigslist and there are plenty to choose from (new and used).

Hope that helps,

Wow...5 days off the boards...you miss quite a bit...

I love the fireworks- in fact I discovered that if you toggle up and down quicky-it looks like they are moving...:lmao:...um yeah...it's the little things you have to take pleasure in......Awesome photos once again...

Poor Lexi...:confused3...I hope she felt better later in the day...

you have a very good sense of humor...

So I've been puked on, rained on and Beverleyed all before eleven am. Sigh.

It's very important when you're a mom...;)

Looks like Kyle really did get his character grove on...:woohoo:

Wow - where was everybody?!! Zero wait time for Test Track - and no one outside Mission Space :confused3 Perfect time to visit Epcot!

Loved the looks on everyone's faces after drinking the Beverly drink - even yours ;) And especially loved the Character photos - your son looks so cool with Donald :thumbsup2 Beautiful family!!

I'm tellin' you, the week we went was a perfect time to be at Disney! Zero lines and only one day of rain for ten solid days. Perfection!

You're a good sport for drinking the Beverly for them! :thumbsup2

Denise

I know, right? My protests were falling on deaf ears. I mean look at Jose's face... he has no sympathy for me. :rotfl:

That Club Cool picture is just classic!!!:rotfl2: It's always fun to watch the reaction of first timers to Beverly! Glad the rain let up so you could visit the WS without getting soaked.:)

Oh no, we do get soaked! That'll be coming up next. In fact this is the only day that we had to break out the ponchos. There's a great pic of us at the entrance as we're leaving where we all look... well, soaked!

Gotta love the Beverly pics!!! :lmao:

You know I couldn't WAIT to spring that one on them!

Jose bought it for me in January at the Wolf Camera that used to be in Rivergate mall; they closed a bunch of locations, and that one was closest to us, dang it. I calculated what shipping would be from other places and it came so close in price that I just had him go there for it. With the second lens it actually ended up being really close to $800... it was DEFINITELY a splurge, but I heart it so so much. Is Drew in photography school?! I'm having to self-teach everything, but it's pretty dang fun.

I love the beverly pics!:rotfl2:

A must do, no?! ;)

For sure; you can buy just the body for a really decent price and rent a lens to try out before you buy one. That's a great way to figure out what you'll need before you shell out the cash for it!

Finally it was time for World Showcase to open, so we could get down to business. WS is what we couldn't WAIT to see at Epcot!

On our way there though we noticed this

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2584/3667712685_68abeac99a_b.jpg

It was still brand spanking new at the time so we couldn't wait to give it a whirl.

We decided to power through Mexico in order to get Tatiana's Kimmunicator, when all the sudden things came to a screeching halt.

As we left Mexico we took the time to look further into the Norway pavilion.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3376/3667738565_aed80788e5_b.jpg

I love Norway! It's the closest thing WDW has to a Russian pavilion, and with my family having Viking roots, well it's just too much fun for words for me.

Jose took Kyle and Tanya on Maelstrom, so the girls and I ducked into a store to get out of the drizzling rain.

Sidenote: My husband's freelance business is called Maelstrom Arts, so he got a big ol kick out of seeing this ride!

At this point I spotted a Photopass Photog and thought it would be great to grab a quick shot across the lake.

Quick.

It was NOT quick. We found the only Photopass Nazi in the parks! She was brutal. Stasia wouldn't look at the camera and she kept telling us things like "You're her parents, hold her still!" I mean we were STUNNED. It got to the point where I couldn't stop laughing at her... I mean she couldn't possibly be for real.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2652/3874284143_3b2b714cf4_b.jpg

Oh but she was.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2585/3875060512_e034af2806_b.jpg

See that smile on Jose's face? That's gritted teeth. He was irked to the max at this woman, and she kept us there for an eternity. It was bizarre. Poor Stasia, I had no idea she was so upset till the whole thing was over and she ran off from Jose to me!

Note to self: Be more direct with Photopass photogs.

We decided to grab a bite to eat, and thought we'd give the Japanese QS a go. (Quick service dining plan was still new after all and we got to learn a lot of yummy spots to eat, and some that were only 'meh'.)

Iced Green Tea

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2443/3667797055_3034ffe7a3_b.jpg

It was all yummy, and Tatiana was way impressed that she liked the curry. The Ginger Cake was just meh, and Jose says he didn't care for the Green Tea but the main courses were all thumbs up for a QS place. On the downside the restaurant is teeny and as its the only QS in Japan it fills up fast, and gets LOUD. We bailed as fast as we could. (Maybe that's their design!)

Poor Stasia and the Photopass Nazi!!! I can't believe that woman wouldn't just snap pictures and call it good -- she can't be that dedicated to her art, can she???

Dude I am SOOOOOOOOO non confrontational. In hind sight I always feel more angry than I do at the time. Yeah, Stasia is really really REALLY shy around strangers most of the time so the photog didn't help matters at all. In fact we keep speaking to Stasia about this hypothetical trip to WDW (that she doesn't know is a REAL trip) and she insists she not be made to take ANY photos at all! I'm working on making her take that request back... ;)

By the time we finished eating at Yakitori the rain had officially started. We ducked into Mitsukoshi Department Store to attempt to dry off and browse around.

This was our favorite store in all of Epcot!

I let Tatiana help me pick a pearl

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3380/3667797569_74a119c1d8_b.jpg

A really pretty 7mm! And I let Kyle pick the setting for a ring so they would each have a hand in my keepsake.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3628/3676147508_693a78d25e_b.jpg

I also bought some maneki neko cats... I already have a few of them in my house. They face the doors to beckon good fortune to the home. :thumbsup2

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2427/3675335581_f27824ae39_b.jpg

Jose ducked out to the little goody stand to get some of these

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3325/3667797423_f4dc6fee35_b.jpg

Crispy fried crab claws. Both Jose and Kyle LOVE this kind of stuff, and they ate quite a few of these just standing in the breezeway near the store entrance.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3360/3668605164_f99a081020_b.jpg

We were spending way too much time just wandering around looking at stuff. Talk about getting antsy! The rain would NOT let up. It was a good old fashioned downpour with no sign of ending anytime soon, so we took some time to check out the tin toys.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3623/3668639074_2745e0af30_b.jpg

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2465/3668639200_a6266ee193_b.jpg

Then we just couldn't stand it any longer and we made a mad dash through the rain to get back to the buses and to our resort where we were all desperate to dry off and relax!

The rain let up a teensy bit by the time we reached the entrance, and though we were soaking wet and exhausted we HAD to stop for a picture.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3516/3874273207_294f2a716a_b.jpg

Jose looks shocked, Stasia is making the international "keep away" sign with her chopsticks and Lexi was out like a light.

It was HYSTERICAL how wet we all were.

When we got back to POR we discovered this:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2568/3667578457_3673d0b471_b.jpg

They'd set up the kids' animals as though they were watching TV. So cute.

Lexi had woken up from her little snooze and was loving all over a balloon our hotel room neighbors had left for us. Aren't good neighbors the bestest?

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3390/3668402922_491013dd73_b.jpg

We hung out at the hotel room, got the kids some dinner and ready for bed before letting our favorite babysitter (that would be KYLE) take over while Jose and I went back to Epcot for a while. (Seriously, having a teenager who actually likes his sisters is AWESOME.) Actually Tatiana's probably a better sitter than Kyle is... I'm blessed.

Then we went over to Test Track which I also missed out on earlier in the day!

We were in front of a small family and when we got into the car the little girl was freaking OUT. Her brother wasn't helping matters much and she was near tears. Then to top it all off our car STOPPED after the 'break test'. We stopped the entire ride while we waited for a technician to come and come check out the car; he lifted the 'hood', toodled around and had us ready to move again but by this time the girl was near hysterics and nobody could calm her. i turned around to look at her behind me and in my 'mommy voice' I told her how the car doesn't even go as fast as her own car does at home, and that it will only be going about as fast as she does when her mom drives on the freeway... I had her completely calmed down.

I'm the kid whisperer. :rotfl:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2434/3875069906_60a3fb35e5_b.jpg

See that cute little thing in the middle of the back seat? Bless her heart. And that poncho was whipping around so much I thought it was going to rip off of me! As it is I look like the smurf version of the Stay Puffed Marshmallow Woman.

By this time the weather was cooperating much more and there were only infrequent drizzles. Jose and I decided to hit up World Showcase again to see some of the spots we missed during the downpour earlier.

And of course, baklava!

Dinner was DELICIOUS, and the baklava was like comfort food to me. My mom used to make it all the time and I haven't had any since she passed away. What a great memory.

We finished walking through WS and headed back to the bus and POR where the kids were sound asleep. Overall a great day with tons of memories made. :cloud9:

Your WS pix are amazing! We live in the middle east and kinda thought the food at the Marakesh was meh. I think you got the CS though; I'm glad you liked it!!

Reading about the photopass lady, and seeing your poor little daughter's face, just sorta pissed me off. But, like you, I hold it in and am way too non-confrontational about it.

I need to PM you about your ring. I really want to get a ring in Sept. and was wondering about the prices of the ring settings.

I just answered your PM!

Now you have to remember that Jose and I have never had middle eastern food of any kind before so we're not a good judge of quality, but the taste was de-licious. I'd never even had lamb before that night.

The more I think about that photopass photog the more I hop we run into her again! :rolleyes1

I never anticipated having kids ten years apart but hey, it worked out great!

Looking back at the photopass pics has me rolling; I remember that feeling of being absolutely drenched far too well. :rotfl:

Your new ring that Kyle and Tatiana helped you with is so pretty!

Boo to the rain -- it so should not be allowed at Disney.

Your date night sounds lovely -- you are such a lucky duck to have two babysitters!

I :lovestruc Tangierine Cafe -- their food is so scrumptious!

I do love that ring. And it's my birthstone!

I'm just glad we only had one day of rain while we were there; I mean that's pretty darn good for a ten day trip!

We are definitely lucky, and it doesn't hurt that my kids all like each other so much. :thumbsup2

Date nights are something SO few and far between, you gotta grab 'em when you can. ;)

The KP mission was fun, but the Grand Marnier slush was De-licious!

I was really surprised at the set up they did; we weren't expecting that at all!

A really pretty 7mm! And I let Kyle pick the setting for a ring so they would each have a hand in my keepsake.

I also bought some maneki neko cats... I already have a few of them in my house. They face the doors to beckon good fortune to the home. :thumbsup2

Very nice ring! I know it will always be a very special memory of a great family time.

I got the gold kitty, since it said it will make all of your dreams come true. My kitty must be working in installments or something, because so far not all of my dreams have come true. ;)

Since you're the kid whisperer, could you meet me at Room 137 in the morning about 7:45...please?

Man... I am so very far behind. I have read through most of it though. I'm almost done. I have probably told you this 10 times- but I LOVE your pictures. What kind of Camera do you have? The pictures are just soo amazing- rich and colorful and so clear. They seriously look perfessional. They are all beautiful and thanks for the videos. My personal favorite is still when you guys are riding the bus entering WDW- and you show us the sign and I can hear the Disney recording in the background. :goodvibes Thats a great moment.
