These questions are for all who used the teacher/nurse discount when booking their rooms. Did you like the room that you received? Did you have any problems? Is there a certain area of the hotel that these rooms are in or just assigned blindly? Thanks !

We used (DH and I) the nurses discount in April 2001 at the Swan. We paid for a standard. Got a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite overlooking the lagoon. We were very satisified with the service and hotel.

We were upgraded to the 7th floor with two beautiful balcony rooms. Didn't even ask. Had a great MGM/Boardwalk (sort of), and pools view.

We were there over spring break and had no trouble with the teacher discount. We were on the 18th floor. I would stay there again.

I was at the Swan, not the Dolphin. However, the room was just okay. I requested a King bed, balcony and EPCOT view and did not get any of them. It was overlooking a courtyard with a fountain. However, I believe it was because I didn't check in until midnight, due to a late flight. If you check in early enough, you'll probably get something better.

We stayed at the Dolphin (nurse rate) in March and had a beautiful Epcot view. They asked if we would prefer an Epcot view or a balcony because they didn't have a room with both. We didn't ask, they just offered. We chose the view, because the temperature was in the 40's so we knew we wouldn't be outside!

What's with the blurb at the side of the resorts board advertising teacher/nurse/govt. employee rates from $149? Have they really gone up $20? Last month I had 2 nights at the Swan @ $129 per night on a government employee discount.

Yep--they went up about 3 weeks ago.
