Not as big as the Contemporary rooms, but nice sized. Two queen beds. Maybe a day bed. Basically just a room with a bathroom (sink outside the tub/toilet room). Not much different from a DVC studio, only no kitchenette, and no sleeper sofa.

Did you like it?
your opinion counts since you HATE the studios

We stayed in Sugarloaf several years back on the buy 4 get three more free. It was nice, but really not much more than a studio, except since it was concierge, we got concierge snacks all day long. Everyonce in a while, we like to try the non-DVC resorts. We've stayed at CR in a wing room, GF Sugarloaf concierge, AKL concierge and regular AKL savanna, Polynesian Lagoon view, CBR, CSR, POFQ as well as our DVC stays. They all were nice, but we prefer a DVC one bedroom every time.

Thank you
I LIKE YOU!
I know most people dont care about room size because they feel they spend most of the time in the park and just sleep in the room
BUT
I like a nice room with a tub to come home and relax in before bed!!

I think it depends. We once booked concierge on points and they upgraded us to a honeymoon suite. Loved it. It was very spacious, but it still didn't have the kitchenette. We didn't need it though with the concierge.
Now I would never use my points or squish myself into a regular hotel room if my kids were staying with us, but when it is just DH and I we can suffer for a few days and deal with concierge at the GF.:)

I stayed at the GF for my honeymoon. The rooms and hotel are magnificent. Our room was a typical hotel room, even a bit smaller because we were on the top floor facing the lake.
Is it economical to pay points for GF rather than cash, particularly when considering the hotel + ticket packages?

Never. The number of points required for the GF is very high.

Me too. I am more concerned with where I am going to relax than where I am going to play. Having a nice room "makes" my trip perfect!

The room turned out nice in (Oct)
It was the size of a studio in OKW maybe a little bigger
There was Kool Aid on the rug that never got cleaned up even though we called twice about it
and it is a BIG PLUS Staying on the monorail route!

Grand Floridian is not a DVC resort, it's a regular hotel. They do have some 1 bedroom suites but they are not like DVC resorts with kitchens.

One used to be able to book the suites with points but no more.
