The Details
May 5th 2009 - 8 Days at the POFQ!
Who's Going?? Let me first explain...While watching Winnie the Pooh the other night my DS turns to me and said "I am Tigger and you must be Rabbit because you get mad like Rabbit does". (which also cracks DH up) This then prompted the conversation of who DH was (Owl) and my other DS (Piglet). DS (Tigger) is 4 and has a hard time listening and I guess I get mad a lot because of this! So that is how I came to our cast list.
The Cast:
Rabbit (Me) Did you know that Rabbit - besides being known for being pushy and decisive is also known for being organized and taking charge of group events! - My DS was right... this is me (but I am a girl) I am 34 years young.. a wife to my very best friend in the world, and a mother of two beautiful and loving boys!! I work part time in Boston and spend all my free time with my family and planning for our Disney trip!!!!
Owl (DH) Known for speaking eloquently and everyone thinks he's the wisest. Well my DH is a writer and he is also that person who knows everything about nothing! He is definitely Owl!
Tigger (DS) is 4 years old. He is bouncy, very active and fun loving! He is Tigger:-) This will be his 3rd time going to Disney.
Piglet (DS) is 18 months old. My baby! I don't know if he will like being "Piglet" when he is older, but for now he is my baby and he is our Piglet! This will be his 2nd time going to Disney.

I just had to share...My DH is working late tonight and when I got home, on my pillow he left for me a CD he had made. He even made a CD cover - the front is Minnie giving Mickey a big kiss and on the back it says "A Disney Valentine - Wishes do come true." How sweet is that?!

Great start! We went in May last year and it was such a great time to go. Nice weather and the crowds weren't too bad.
Your kids are adorable!

I'm in!!
Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace are two of my favs; we didn't get to do them last time, so they're top of my list now! DH has never done either, so I'm excited to get him in to more character meals!
We really want to try T-Rex, but I don't think it's going to fit our schedule. We'll probably just walk around the store part and see what it's like. You'll have to let me know if the food is too good to pass up, though!
We're doing O'Hana for breakfast for the first time. I'm so excited as I absolutely adore Stitch. I keep teasing DH that I may make a shirt asking Stitch to marry me. :lovestruc
POFQ is one of my fav resorts (out of any level.) We stayed here for our honeymoon; it's so pretty and relaxing! GREAT choice!
Your family is adorable, by the way!

Thank you!! We havent done them either. Last year we did Hollywood and Vine (which was really good!) and Garden Grill (so-so). We will be at Crystal palace for DH birthday and our neighbors are going to Disney at the same time (not planned) and they will be joining us. I am very excited to get the 8:05 AM at Crystal Palace with 8 people!!
I will let you know about T Rex- the pictures look great- and I read today that they have a "build a dino" from Build a Bear Workshops- my DS will LOVE this!!
Stich is one of our favorites too-we always race in the morning to be first to get his wake up call.
I am so glad you liked POFQ- we have only stayed at POR and POP and I was worried because there were no rooms at POR for us so we decided to try POFQ out.

I am not afraid to admit that I love Build-A-Bear, and am planning on checking out the Build-A-Dino shop. :rotfl:
You're going to LOVE POFQ!! Don't worry, at all. Make sure you go to the food court and get some beignets (when you're facing the food court, they're sold at the stand furthest to the left) and milk for breakfast. They are fried (not greasy, though) and powded sugar goodness. We had an order of these almost every day on our honeymoon, and I crave them now!
We're staying at POP, and we've never stayed there! I think we've switched our normal habits!

If we didnt have the kids we would probably be back at POP but we spend so much time at the hotel and we love going to DTD so it's easier. Thanks for the tip on the beignets.. that sounds like a yummy breakfast:-) I am going to post some pictures of our first family trip when we stayed at POP. Be on the look-out:-):goodvibes

Ok, so I wanted to share with you all my very favorite photo from our first family trip. (I tried to find some from our hotel...but I guess we spent very little time there, because I have none)
Can you imagine I let my 9 month old crawl on Main St!? (All for a good photo)

A Rumblee in my Tumblee Part 3: Disney Nights
We started planning for this trip when we got home from our September 2007 trip. Our plan is to go back every two years, but if we get a bounceback.... maybe we will have to come back EACH year! We had such an amazing trip that we were all crying at the end of it and really didnt want to leave. People talk about feeling the "Magic" of Disney and we really did!! It has stayed with us and one thing we have done to keep this "Magic" alive is "DISNEY NIGHTS". Hope you enjoy our nights, maybe you can use some of these ideas in your home and have a Disney night of your own and keep your "Magic" alive!!!:lovestruc Each night we try to incorporate food from the movie, watch the movie all together and do a craft/activity.
TOY STORY NIGHT: (This was our first night and wasnt really planned)
Ordered Pizza From "Pizza Planet"
Watched the Movie and played with the Toy Story action Figures
We also played Tic-Tac-Toe with Army guys
LADY AND THE TRAMP NIGHT:
DS and I picked flowers from our garden and set the table fancy- wine glasses and candles. We put nice music on during dinner too.
We had Spaghetti and Meatballs and Garlic Bread- Red Wine and (Welch's Grape Juice for the little ones)
We watched the movie and then played Dog Trivia after.
LILO AND STITCH NIGHT:
For this night we really got into the decorations and created a luau in our kitchen. We had Chicken Skewers with Pineapples and Cherries and Mango Chutney. It was yummy. My DS and I made our first ever Pineapple upside down cake and it was delish!
BUGS LIFE NIGHT:
I made a meatloaf with "ant holes" and gummy worms on it. We had Pudding pie with crushed Oreo (Dirt) and Gummy Worms.
DH took DS out for "Bug Collecting" - they caught a little beetle. We named him Ringo and let him free the next day.
SLEEPING BEAUTY NIGHT:
We got into our PJ's and put a blanket down on the floor and had "Brinner"
Pancakes, Sausages, Eggs, Coffee (Hot Chocolate for DS) This was lots of fun!
NIGHTMARE BEFORE XMAS NIGHT:
We did this around Halloween. We made Boogers on a stick (Pretzles in some green cheese dip) and we made Octopus dogs (hot dogs with slits and when boiled they look like an octopus) We toasted pumpkin seeds and we carved our pumpkins!
Ok that is all for now. I have to put the kids to bed. I have lots more Disney Nights to share. I hope you enjoy these!!
Coming up: Disney Nights Continued....

Hi! :wave2: Just poppin in here from DisneyTiger's TR!
I have to second the recommendation of the beignets. They are good stuff. Not QUITE as good as the ones you'll get in New Orleans, but close enough. Just don't inhale while eating them! :rotfl:

I just stayed at POFQ in December. I really liked it. There were these two guys that were at the front door. If they are there, talk with them for a bit. They are nice and all dressed up for Mardi Gras. :rotfl:
I like your PTR...sounds like it's going to be a great trip! And you are quite brave for taking two little ones!

I followed where's piglet here from disney tigers trip report. I also loooooove the picture of your ds crawling on main street. We are going to Disney World one week from Friday. Our baby is going to turn 20 months old on our trip. I will let you know how she liked t-rex to give you a heads up on how the restaurant was since you will be taking a baby her age there too. Try the beignets. I know how to make them just like the french quarter. I bought the box mix they use in New Orleans. Where's Piglet is right don't inhale when taking a bite. We were eating them in New Orleans one day and the wind blew really strong just as my aunt had one up to her mouth and she got a face full of powdered sugar. It was pretty funny.

 I am so confused... I have a rental reserved for around 200 for the week. (which is pretty cheap) OR I could use Magical Express. (Which I have been wanting to try) I just keep imagining my 18 month old screaming and tired at the end of the day screaming on the bus or waiting in line for the bus... Anyone out there who have gone with little ones who can give me your opinion?!

We are fixing to leave this week for our third trip. We used magical express and never rented a car. Our second trip we had a seven month old with us and she was fine on the disney buses and on the plane. She will turn 20 months old on our trip this week. We leave Friday. Check out my pre trip report so you can read about how she did on the trip when we get home. The link is in my signature.

Hi there, I just got on the DIS for the first time in a few days and saw your PM. I am so sorry that I am just now getting back to you but it looks like you've gotten the hang of posting links!:thumbsup2
Ok, first things first. That picture of your baby boy on Main Street, I can't even put into words how much I love it. I love taking pictures especially candids, and I for some reason I love pictures of my kids from behind (good things since that's about all I get from them!) Anyway, this picture is amazing. What a wonderful and cute idea! Did this just come to you or was it something you planned on doing? I am going to WDW in May with my 3.5 year old daughter (mother/daughter trip) and I am making a reservation at Crystal Palace for before the park opens specifically so I can get a pic of her running up the castle ramp with no one else around. Really, this pic is great. You should submit it to some contests. I bet you would win!
Ok, enough gushing about your pic... The other thing I wanted to mention was the bus vs rental. When we went this past September, my daughter turned 3 on the trip and my son was 18 months. Neither of them were fans of the buses. Actually, towards the end, we were doing everything in our power to avoid them (ie: cab, monorail, walking - we stayed at BCV so thankfully walking was an option for us). But on the positive side, EVERYONE on the bus is in the same situation as you - trying to hold it together with tired, cranky kids. If your kids are fussy, no one will even think twice about it. That was what helped us get through their meltdowns. People really understood and passed no judgement. Now, it did bring my husband and I to our breaking points a few times:scared1:
I'm so glad to have found your report and can't wait to read more. DD and I are going a few weeks after you so I will be starting a PTR soon. Just as soon as I finish my TR from our last trip!

So I want to paint my toes "minnie colors" for the trip. I was thinking Red with White polka dots but watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with my DS today I realized Minnie is Pink and White on this show. So, what do you think... do I go with Red and White or Pink and White? Yes I am very obsessed with this trip and have all my plans in place so what else am I to plan.... my toe nail polish I guess!princess:

But on the positive side, EVERYONE on the bus is in the same situation as you - trying to hold it together with tired, cranky kids. If your kids are fussy, no one will even think twice about it. That was what helped us get through their meltdowns. People really understood and passed no judgement. Now, it did bring my husband and I to our breaking points a few times:scared1:
I'm so glad to have found your report and can't wait to read more. DD and I are going a few weeks after you so I will be starting a PTR soon. Just as soon as I finish my TR from our last trip!
Oh HI DisneyTiger!!! It's so weird when I read your trip report, I just felt like we were old friends by the end of it so I am so glad to see you found my story!
The picture of my DS (he was 9 months!) and my DH set the whole picture up- I was freaking out a bit about him crawling down main street- barefoot and all! But I have to say, it was my favorite picture from the whole trip.
I cant wait to read your new PTR and follow your new story!!

I was just in the middle of typing and my computer kicked me out so I hope this isn't a duplicate...
Your boys are absolutely precious. I think we are a lot alike. You reminde me of myself before our last big trip. It's all I could think about. Just now, I was laying in bed trying to get some rest because I have pneumonia (don't know if you read that yet on my TR). All I can think about when I close my eyes is our upcoming trip! So here I am, on the DIS when I should be resting:rolleyes1
I forgot to mention before that I absolutely LOVE the movie and dinner Disney nights that you had. I am so going to have to copy off of you. If that's ok:wink:
Can't wait to read more. Love the pics!

I thought I should put here in my PTR that I have gone back to Weight Watchers.... AGAIN! This time with a great goal: To loose 20 pounds before we go to Disney. Lately I just dont want to be in pictures with my kids. I want to have some memories to look back on and not be like "ugh- get these pictures away from me!!!" So there you have it.... I have 10 weeks and if I loose 2 pounds a week then I will reach my goal. This is probably my 15th time or so going back to WW - which makes me a little negative about it actually working this time BUT it is right here in black and white so there you have it!
If anyone else out there is on WW - I love to hear from you:-)

I'm not doing weight watchers but I am trying to lose weight. I am on Jenny Craig and have lost about 40lbs over the last 10 months or so. I could be doing a lot better. My goal is to lose another 20lbs before my trip in May too. I totally get that uh feeling about being in pictures. I don't have a lot of me in Disney for the same reason. Thank you!! I was like this on the last trip and my DH thought I was crazy- but at the end of the trip he told me how thankful he was for all my hard work (planning) and I know we all had one of the best vacations of our lives!!
I can't believe you have a pneumonia! That is awful. I know how hard it is being sick and having to take care of the little ones. Hopefully someone is around to help you out. Everyone seems to be sick. We need some warm sunshine around here so we can open up the windows and get all the germs out of our house. (This will not happen for some time for us.... living in New England in February. It is going to snow/sleet this week and already something is brewing for next week too)
Feel better:-)

I think him and I will be spending lots of time in the little Playgrounds...poohs and dino land are the only ones i know of.. if anyone else knows of any....I would appreciate it!
Here is my big boy. Today he turned 5. I cant believe it. It seems like it was just yesterday he was born!! So sad- how fast they grow.:sad2:

So today is my second full day on WW. So far so good. It was my sons birthday today and we got McDonalds (his choice) and I opted for 4 piece nuggets and small FF - and I didnt have any of the cake. Do you know a piece of cake is 15 points on WW? That is CRAZY - I could have like 7 beers instead (I didnt... but I could!)
Yesterday we got some good news and I got a bonus. Now, I work in the Financial Industry so I wasnt expecting much but it will PAY for our entire trip. I can't tell you how HAPPY I am:cool1:
I have been feeling so guilty about going on the trip because there are SO many other things I should be paying. Now I truly can go and just enjoy!
This brings us to how we decided today that we should UPGRADE to DXDP!!! My first thought was YAHOO and then I thought man I really am going to gain back everything I lost before this trip :scared1:
After talking to my mom tonight and telling her we upgraded, I realized that going DXDP was probably going to be better for me. I mean it's got to be better than the fast food at the counter service right? (shh! don't tell me any different) Hee!! I am very excited about it and my DH and DS is really excited too. Of course I called 407-WDW DINE right away!!!

Great choice for Chef Mickey on the first night; that's always a tradition of ours! I'm going to be honest though, I hate San Angel Inn; have you eaten here before? We've given it three chances, and the food was horrible every time. It was also the slowest service we have ever received at WDW - all 3 times. I'm just not a fan; I like the CS outside better.

Congrats on the bonus! That's such a relief! It really makes a vacation so much more enjoyable when you are not worrying about money the whole time!
We celebrated my DD's 3rd birthday at dinner and I ordered her a special "glass slipper" dessert. Now, I realize that this may not be the perfect dessert for your DH but I'm sure they have something for a guy. I ordered it from GF but there are other places around WDW. If you call dining, they should be able to help you. Just a thought:)
Also, I feel the need to stand up for San Angel. I also have heard many mixed reviews about the place but we went this past September and I had one of the best steaks that I've ever eaten. It was topped with fried plantains and other yumminess. I love the atmosphere too. Just my 2 cents:thumbsup2
I've also heard that Tuto is very good. I want to check that out next time.

We LOVE Disney Nights too! I have Fridays off and lately we spend the whole day decorating the house. We even have been starting to invite people over - like the little girls who live next door came over a couple weeks ago for Winne the Pooh night. We had a blast. Oooh- i have to start planning for tomorrow's Disney night!
Maybe we will cross paths in Disney- it looks like we will be there around the same time and even going to some of the same places.
I am too excited for the deluxe dining. I think its going to be really nice with the kids to be able to go sit inside and be waited on rather than have DH up at the counter trying to bring two trays back to a table that I and two kids "hopefully" find!!

My message above was for you! I am still learning - for instance I LOVE how you have your trip underlined and how it takes you to that post. How do i do that!?
It's pretty simple, but let me see if I can explain it!! First, click on the post # up in the right hand corner of the post. It will bring up that post in a new window. Copy the url (ex: http://www.disboards.com/blah, blah, blah...) Close the window and go to your first post and type a title for that post. Highlight the title and click on the little globe icon with the chain link in the toolbar. A little window will pop up, delete the http:// that is in the line then this is where you'll paste your url that you copied. Hit OK and you should be good to go.
Hope these directions are clear and understandable!!!:rotfl:
Rumblee in my Tumblee PTR: Coming up: Jo Bro's and Camp Rock Disney Night
So tonight me and DH are going to a Celtics game. (Yay me... a night out!!!)So Disney night is going to be tomorrow. On Saturday DH is taking DS1 to the new Jonas Brothers movie in 3D! Then when they get home, we are having a Camp Rock Disney Night!!
Here is the Food Plan:
Burgers/Fries
Chips/Pickels
Smores for dessert
We will watch the movie and then for activity "Final Jam" I think we will take turns rockin the mike (Sing it... Play Statiopn 2) This is a pretty funny scene!..All of us including our dog in this small little playroom singing at the top of our lungs Camp Rock songs. (Its fun thouh) I am pretty excited for a chance to BBQ. We havent since September or something.... its been covered in snow and it has finally melted.
My DS1 wants to also set the tent up in the living room and sleep in sleeping bags and make a fire in our fireplace!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Just back from the Celtics! We Won!!! Dh works for Welch's and we had AWESOME seats... club level...private bar...private waitress... it was really cool. free seats but we still spent lots of $$!!
You did inspire me so much so that I went to Home Depot and made that calendar all within 2 hours!!
I must say again- this book is AWESOME! DS and I spend so many days looking at this and dreaming... what will we like ... what rides will we go on... also it has a "scare factor" which is awesome because my DS is afraid of a lot of stuff! It's also so cool because it has the autograph part and also the passport part for Epcot... It has stickers for each ride for you to put in your book when you go on the rides.... its just GREAT!

Day 2 (Wednesday, May 6th) DH Birthday! 8:05AM Reservation at Crystal PalaceI will be at Crystal Palace for an 8:05am ADR on May 6th for my birthday!!!
I'll be at Disney with just my DS(8yrs). My DH isn't a Disney lover.:sad2: Once a year is more than enough for him but not me. We take a family trip and then I take the kids one at a time. I'll be leaving my 2 girls (6 & 9) at home with him. The family trips are really nice but these one on one trips are very special too. We'll be at AKL for the first time. I usually stay value on the one on one trips but am taking advantage of the buy 4 get 7 deal.
Funny that you are going to CP with friends. A coworker of mine will be at Disney the same time as me and he is joining us for breakfast.
http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/nickie0214/xmas247.jpg
Here is a pretty recent picture of my youngest, he will be 20 months in Disney. I have to tell you he is a WILD little man! I dont know what I am going to do with him in Disney. I think him and I will be spending lots of time in the little Playgrounds...poohs and dino land are the only ones i know of.. if anyone else knows of any....I would appreciate it!
Here is my big boy. Today he turned 5. I cant believe it. It seems like it was just yesterday he was born!! So sad- how fast they grow.:sad2:
http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/nickie0214/xmas016.jpgYour boys are adorable! My youngest was 20 months on her 2nd trip. That was a very magical trip with her. She was a late talker so she only had a handful of words at the time but got 2 more there-moon-the moon was full when we were there and WOW-she LOVED the Epcot fountains.
Playgrounds-there is a small one near Splash mountain, two in Toontown-a playground and a wet play area, Epcot tends to have something for the flower fest. I've never been to the one at DHS.
LOVE your countdown and Disney nights.
Do you think that book would be good for an 8 year old? All of my kids love disney but I think it will be my DS who will be my fanatic. He loves Walt Disney and while he likes the thrill rides like Space Mnt & Everest he loves all the classic stuff too like Carousel of Progress and TTA (he will be crushed when he finds out that will be down when we go).
I think you'll be happy with POFQ. It is nice and compact, quiet and has a great pool for younger kids.
Thanks for saying this. I have an ADR there for lunch on May 5th. DS is SO excited to eat there for Cinco de Mayo. My DS was a bit miffed that I was at WDW with my oldest for groundhog day (we've NEVER done anything to celebrate at home) so I reminded him that we'd be at WDW for Cinco de Mayo (we've never celebrated this at home either). I figure I can get a snack elsewhere if its that bad.

Hi! Thanks for reading my PTR...this is my first one and I have no clue how to do this (but I am learning!)
So special that you are taking a trip with just your son. I cant believe you will be at CP at the SAME TIME as us! Make sure you stop by and say hi if you notice my kids or me from my pictures or from my green Mickey Heads that say "DIS" on them that will be on my bag- stroller and pocket book....these same green Mickey Heads that my husband is making fun of me BIG TIME for!!!!!
I really LOVE that book. I think you would really like it. My son is a little young for it but he LOVES it. The only thing is that you kind of have to bring it to the parks and that may be a pain but I think the kids will like having it there.

Thank you!! My little guy wasn't so cute yesterday! We were stuck in the house because it snowed A LOT and he has started showing some signs of "a terrible two". My older son who just turned 5 never went through the terrible two's. I thought maybe people made this up - hee hee. NOW I KNOW!!!
My husband thought I should clarify - he loves my count down poster but he is making fun of me for putting the "DIS" Mickey heads on our stroller and bags. He just likes teasing me!!!

Ok- so I thought I would post some stuff that I got for the boys for the trip. I have seen many people who make their own clothes and they are ADORABLE but I am just not that talented.
This luggage set we got monogramed for our older son and he LOVES it. It came with a bag and a small backpack (that was really too small so our youngest gets that - he loves it too)

These shorts I thought were so cute- I got them for my two sons and my husband. I also got navy blue polo shirts to match. My kids love to match and especially will love matching Daddy but my DH may not be too happy with me! ;) .... but they will look so cute. :-)

I made the mistake on the last trip giving my son a "Disney Kit" on the plane and now he assumes he is getting another one. (So of course I cant let the little guy down! and now his younger brother is old enough that he will notice if he doesnt get one!) I need some ideas on what to get them. So far i am thinking:
Disney Camera (Disposable)
Disney Coloring book/Crayons
Disney Dollars
Anyone else have any ideas on what to add to this?

I love all the clothes!!!!! I am one those silly ones who got sucked into the disboutique thread. I made several outfits for my trip with my DD last May then more for all 3 in August then more for my other DD in Jan. Now I've got like 2 or 3 button down shirts, 3 applique T-shirts, and PJ's on the list to make for my DS.:rotfl: I better get sewing!!!!
I LOVE those lobster shorts!!! Where did you find those?
Have you seen these threads on the family boards for printing out activities?
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=429399
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=226819
I have printed out those and put them in a looseleaf binder or report cover.
Another thing that I have found the kids like is I save disney coloring pages to my computer and then I print them on 4x6 or 5x8 blank index cards. The 4x6 ones fit into a coupon sorter but the details tend to get very small. The 5x8 ones fit into a zip lock bag. I have found these to be really great for dining. My kids spend several minutes (ie quiet for adults to eat....) just sorting through the cards before they even start coloring.
How about Disney playing cards?
Stickers are always a huge hit with my crew.
Pipe cleaners can be lots of fun on the plane.
Small beanie baby sized stuffed toy from the Disney Store.
Honestly flying Jet Blue my kids are pretty good with the TV's too.
I have had more than enough of this winter weather here in Boston!!!! I'm ready for spring. Daydreaming about a nice warm Disney vacation!!!!!

Thanks so much for all the great ideas/info- I am going to check out those threads.
The shorts are from the GAP- on sale for $14.00!
I paid a little more for our JetBlue flights but I figure it will make flying a little better with the kids- I also got the baby his own seat! This way he will be "Strapped" in his car seat. He is really active and there is NO WAY he would sit in my lap for 3 hours.
I work in Boston and will be leaving in a few minutes. I am going to FREEZE!!

we get our disney dollars at the Disney Store at our mall. We gave my son a wallet with Mickey on it for his last Airplane "Disney Kit" and he still has it and he is so excited. He got some disney dollars for his birthday so his wallet is filling up. This way he can spend his own money and feel like a big boy on the trip! - We are so bad... we let him pick out one gift every day of our trips - i will have to post a picture of all his toys from our last trip!

Thanks! Did you get those at a store? South Bay? I bought my DS some nice quick dry pull on shorts at the Stoughton Target a week ago.
You've reminded me that my DD(9) has a pair of boy's Land End embroidered shorts that don't fit her anymore. They have palm trees on them. I have palm tree fabric to make my DS a shirt for our Narcoosees dinner. I'll have to see if they would go together OK.
Did you manage to stay warm for the commute home? My office is high on a hill and it was so COLD walking to my car. I'm so done with this winter stuff!

Here's an example of the cards in 4x6 size but I think they work better in 5x8 as the 4x6 can be hard for little ones to color.

I work Monday -Thursday and have Friday off with my boys. Today DH is home too because we have to take the dog to the Vet and DS has his dentist appointment at the same time. I am hoping today to be able to leave my oldest son with his daddy so that I can go over to the Disney Store and pick up some stuff for their "Airplane Disney Kits". I will have to post some pictures of what I get later.
I also want to go over to Old Navy and get some stuff for me- I was looking online this morning and they have these really cute shorts (like my boys lobster ones - but no lobsters... just the stripes- and a cute shirt with little ruffles on the shoulders. Hmmm.... I may just have to go do some more Disney Shopping for me!
I am so happy its not snowing!! Its actually going to get to 50 this weekend. On Saturday we turn the clocks ahead an hour. I wonder what that means for my boys who wake up at 6am every day. Are they going to be getting up at 5:scared1: ??? That will not be good.
Well I am off for a fun day with the boys. Tonight I have a Girls Night Out! We are going to Border Cafe for some Margaritas and apps! YUM:thumbsup2 - For those of you that remember I was trying WW - yeah it's not going so well...

Well I am off for a fun day with the boys. Tonight I have a Girls Night Out! We are going to Border Cafe for some Margaritas and apps! YUM:thumbsup2 - For those of you that remember I was trying WW - yeah it's not going so well...
Sounds like you have a nice day ahead of you. I hope you find some good buys! Mom's night out sounds really good to me. Have a good time. Just remember how many points a large margarita is:rolleyes1 Maybe you should have straght tequilla instead:laughing:

Well I am back from the Disney Store and Grocery Store...of course no Old Navy for me. (Mom's come last I guess!) By the time we were done with the Disney Store Nightmare (more later on this) The kids were spent and I still had to go to the Grocery Store so we skipped Old Navy:scared: and went to the Grocery Store and then went home. Now both kids are napping:cloud9: and I have a few minutes to sit down and relax and what better place to do that!? Right here on the DIS!!!
Well as soon as we got to the mall I realized I forgot my stroller:scared1: I was thinking "I can just hold their hands, we should be fine" YEAH RIGHT... Two kids - under the age of 5 - in THE DISNEY STORE! There was no way I was getting either of them to hold my hand. They were crazy in there, running all over the place and mostly so happy and dancing. There is this HUGE screen and the Jonas Brothers were on- so both my boys singing away and dancing as if it was their livingroom. It was cute but the sales lady was pretty annoyed with us. I heard her say on the phone to someone "sorry I can't hear you there are kids in here screaming" :sad2:
So I was able to sneak in a few purchases for the boys airplane kits. I will post the pictures of the stuff this weekend hopefully. They had these reusable Mickey and Wall-E bags for $2.50 (canvas tote bags) and they were so cute and I thought they would be the perfect thing to put each of the boys airplane goodies in, so I bought one for each of them. - The lady had a hard time grasping that I wanted a bag to put them in. She was like- "just put your stuff in these- that is the PURPOSE" and I was like, "listen lady- these are surprises for my kids- just put them in a bag for me!!" She was pretty happy when we left!! Sorry for the long vent - Phew! Feel much better now:)
New subject... STROLLER DEBATE!
Here are my choices and I have to say if I can find one I am leaning towards my first choice!
Note- I really dont want to rent at Disney because we have a rental car. So it would stink to have to carry two sleeping kids and all our stuff through those parking lots. Also keep in mind we need a stroller for the airport. We have two car seats- 4 carry on bags - 2 little kids (hee!) and I cant even imagine lugging all that w/o a stroller to put it all on.
1st choice) 2 Umbrella Strollers that recline that I can connect/disconnect
This would be great I think because we only need the double stroller at night when my 5 year old will want to sleep/rest. But will he be comfortable or is he too big? and will my 19 month old sleep in this if it only reclines a little or not at all?? Also- will they be protected from the sun at all???
2) Side by side double stroller
I will have to purchase new unless I can find at a second hand store (which i am looking for) BUT is this going to be too big and most of the time I really only need a stroller for the baby. My 5 year old will probably sit in it at the parade or for a rest but also probably wouldnt miss it if it wasnt there. He really needs it just for night.- I plan on spending some time in Epcot with DH while the two boys are snug in the strollers- sleeping! :cloud9: Am I dreaming?
3) just my single stroller that reclines from home
Maybe I would just rent the double stroller for the Epcot night and the one late night planned at MK.
HELP!!!!

Bummer you didn't get to go to ON, moms always come last :sad2: ! Maybe oldnavy.com!! They have free shiping right now!!
I wouldn't feel bad about the Disney Store. If you're working at the Disney store, you've got to expect screaming, excited kids! I can't wait to see what you got for the boys. I'm going to the Disney store on Sunday. I would go sooner, but the closest one is 45 min away and I have to go that was for a baby shower on Sunday anyway. I'm actually looking forward to the Disney store more than the shower!!
As far as the strollers, I think if you have 2 reclining strollers already that are comfortable for you to push long distances, then go with those. You can always buy the stroller connectors to make it a double. Your 19 month old will sleep in the stroller even if it's not fully reclined. Last year, Emily was 22mo and slept fine in our Maclaren which doesn't recline all the way. Even at 2 1/2 she'll sleep in it when we are out. I think even at 5, your big guy is going to want some time in the stroller. Heck, I wish I had a stroller to climb into sometimes at Disney!!:rotfl:

Ok, this is hysterical because I went through some similar stroller drama with our trip. Reminder from my PTR http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1891886&page=2
I was very happy with the stroller that I purchased. It's a Jeep double and the seats do recline. I think I paid around $80 for it which is quite less than what I would have paid to rent one there. And I use the thing every day! My situation is a bit different though because you have an older child. If you don't think he's going to be in it that much then just bring your single and rent the double at night like you said. But then you will have to carry sleeping kids to the car. This would be miserable I'm sure. I love the Jeep because it folds up just as small as a regular umbrella stroller. The only drawback is that there is not much shade. I ended up taking the canopies off that it came with because they were such a pain. I don't recall having issues with the sun though so it worked ok.
So funny, you're having your very own stroller saga:rotfl: Sorry, not laughing at you. I vote for bringing your own double!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a fun night tonight!!!!
The clerk a the Disney Store sounds like a crank! Hope you make it to Old Navy. I may have to go check them out online if they have free shipping. I am on the search for shorts and it isn't easy. I just want basic kahki shorts that aren't too long or too short and don't have a lot of extra stuff on them like cargo pockets or something. Oh and I want them to fit well and be under $50 (actually I want them under $30) but I haven't had very good luck. I ordered some from J Jill as they didn't have my size in the store. I'm hoping that fit well and I'm going to try to forget how much I paid for them.
Strollers....I have had this problem on lots of trip. Our first family trip my oldest was 3 1/2, my son turned 3 and baby was 11 months. We've been on 5 more trips since. On our last trip they were 9, 7 and 5. We were finally down to just one stroller on that trip.
This would be my advice: Take the stroller you have now for your 2 year old and buy a MacLaren Volo for the 5 year old. The Volo doesn't recline but it will be fine for a 5 year old. It is so light, has a carry strap, has a shade and is easy to push. I bought mine from here:
http://www.babye-store.com/
The 2007 version comes with a rain cover-the newer ones you have to buy an accessory pack to get that.
I have gone through so many strollers trying to find the perfect one. I had a travel system with my first one. Got a Graco Duo Glider with my 2nd. Had a MacLaren Rally Twin for Disney but my youngest HATED that thing-she hated sitting that close to a sibling and it was a big stroller to drag around. I have to say the best stroller I ever had was a Peg Perego Pliko P3-it has a running board on the back for an older child but my 5 year didn't need that big of a stroller any more. The Volo was perfect for my 5 year old. I bought it for a solo trip with her last May and then we used it again for our summer family trip. I would have paid as much in rental fees on the one trip with her as I did for this stroller and I was really glad to have it for the walk to the bus stops. The Volo would work great for your 5 year old and I bet you'd find yourself using it for mall trips with the 2 year old too when you got home. Plus when your boys are older and you just need one stroller the Volo would be perfect.
When I was WDW in January I notice they changed the rental strollers. They are the same basic hard plastic things but they are so much smaller now. I couldn't believe how small they were given how expensive they are now.
Good luck with the stoller decision. It is one I have gone through many times.

Thanks for the info! It was a debate for us last time because I had an 8 week old and a 3 year old! Last time we ended up with the baby carrier and a single stroller. Now I look back and think I should have gotten a double stroller then and I think I would have got a lot of uses out of it!

I think my stroller debate has been answered. (Maybe!)
One of my good friends has a Maclaren double umbrella stroller and it reclines. She said her boys have pretty much outgrown it and she said it's ours to use for the trip! I am excited and think it will work great BUT I really dont like using people's things. I would be so upset if someone stole it or if my kids ruined it.

Ok, so here is a picture of the airplane kits I am making for the boys. I still want to pick up some little disposable camera's, disney dollars, and a few more things but here is an idea of what they will look like! I got them each a little tote bag ($2.50) from the Disney Store, and each a small plush animal, a T-shirt, a couple of tubby toys, coloring books, a Wall-E crayon/marker kit, some glow sticks for the night shows (Illuminations, Spectro, Wishes)
What do you think!?

Well the girls all bailed and I am home tonight with DH and the kids. We got pizza and DH and I are going to watch a movie once we get the kids to bed (they are up late tonight..usually they are asleep by 7:30pm) At least our drinks are free at home!! DH and the boys were all so happy I wasn't going out so that was really nice, although I would have liked a girls night out!:sad1:
The color kits are from Disney Store - they were 25% off (around $10.00) but they are great- everything from rulers, erasers, pencils, markers, color pencils- you name it! The one we got was Wall-E.
Where do you think I got the idea for the glow things!?? :thumbsup2

First I should say that we got our ideas for Disney Nights here on the DIS!
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1707141
We have been doing them every Friday or Saturday night since we decided to go to Disney! Tonight we did 101 Dalmations.
101 Dalmations
Food: We made hot dogs wrapped in philo dough (shaped into bones)
Dessert: We had Black & White cookies and milk!
Activity: We were at a birthday party today and had a late start to our Disney Night so tomorrow we promised the boys we would do the activity with them. We are going to take Daisy (our dog ... yes, she was named by my son after none other than Daisy Duck) for a nice long walk.
I also wanted to share that I looked on craigslist and found a double stroller for $30.00. Tomorrow we are going to take a drive after Soccer and pick it up. I think it will be better than borrowing my friends Maclaren. I would be so nervous about someone taking it or it getting ruined. One of my good friends is having twins- I figure after Disney, I can give it to her. I am sure she would get some use out of it.
Hope everyone has a good night. Me and my hubby are going to watch a movie tonight. "Sex Drive" and no its not that kind of movie... (hee!) I guess it's a comedy. I haven't heard of it but he said I will like it.:happytv:

Sounds like a fun night! I haven't seen Sex Drive yet, but I here is it hilarious in a "Super Bad" kind of way! That's my kind of movie!!
Love the Disney kits! I'm heading to the Disney Outlet tomorrow! Woo Hoo!! I hope I find some deals!
What kind of stroller did you find? $30 is a great deal on a double especially if you're only going to use it at Disney.

DH works most nights right now, so as soon as he has a normal schedule, we'll have to do just that! I love the biscuit/hot dogs shaped like bones. (We call those pigs-in-a-blanket. Is that what they are there? DH LOVES them!)

yes like pigs in a blanket- but these were full size hot dogs and I took a crescent roll and seperated the pieces and wrapped the hot dog and shaped the dough into a bone.

I've been meaning to get to the stores too, to pick up some tank tops for myself, but just like you there is never any time, or if there is time, it's never a good time:lmao:
I love your airplane bags. My friend was just telling me that she bought my dd that wall-e bag to put her gifts in for her bday this weekend. Those are cute. I'm going to be putting together little bags for my girls too for the plane.

I know I need some stuff for the trip but I am SO not into shopping lately. My little guy is 19 months old now and I havent lost ANY baby weight. I go up and down but its so frustrating. I remember with my first after he hit two, things became much easier. I actually had a little time for myself. Right now, it is hard!!
The airplane bags came out cute I think! I still have to fill them up with more stuff. I think I will put some snacks in them too. That way they will have some of their favorites for while they are at Disney. (Goldfish and fruit snacks)

Food: Stromboli
Activity: We will make Puppets of course!
If anyone has any other ideas we would love to hear them.

Do your kiddos like to perform? Maybe break everyone in to teams and have them come up with a puppet show using their body. So, have one person be controlling the "strings" (just moving the arms, legs, feet, head, etc. of the other person around with their hands), and the other person play the puppet. Could be cute and funny!

Nice Pre-trippie! We are going to be overlapping the times we are there, 9th-16th! We will have our DS who will be almost a year old then. A VERY active boy, I love him! I am so amazed you went with such a little one last time... gives me hope since we want another one soon!
I also have a spreadsheet.. but it looks so simple compared to yours! Less then two months now! YEAH!

Hi! Thanks - I am SO excited!!! My husband spent the night tonight looking at pictures (here on the DIS) with the boys. They were so excited for all the fun stuff we will be doing.
Where are you staying? What is your plan? I really think the best thing to do with a little one is to go early and leave around lunch and then spend the afternoon at your hotel/pool and then head back in for dinner. At least that is what we have done and it has worked out great!! Maybe we will have a Dis meet!! I was just telling DH it would be nice to actually see someone and say hi from the Dis boards!! (he just laughs and makes fun of me)
Oh and bringing the 8 week old was easy. The 3 1/2 year old was the tough one. (just the first day though and then he got into it)

Hello! I just found your PTR and as another mom of two boys, I just wanted to say HI! Enjoyed reading your PTR so far! Liked the story about Disney Store and no stroller, boy do I know that! Two sets of really little legs can go really really fast in opposite directions!
Looking forward to reading more.. popcorn:: Oh! And I ordered Pinocchio, too! Can't wait until it arrives... Love the Disney Nights idea! :thumbsup2

Lucky you! It looks like you are going in June and December!! I love having two boys. It's kind of nice being the only girl in the house. (we did get a girl dog though:) )
Thanks for stopping in and reading my report.

Well you guys, after months of planning and so much help from these boards and all my DIS friends, I think we have our FINAL PLAN! Then, I read these boards and get ALL confused. I didnt get a touring plan and it seems maybe I picked the wrong parks because they may be busy that day! Well, I thought I would write down our whole plan here and see what you all think. Exciting I know!! Are you on the edge of your seat??
POFQ - 8 days (Deluxe Dining) - Renting a car.
Day of Arrival Tuesday, May 5th, 2009
I am thinking how cool would it be for a LIMO to take us to the airport!? Right?? :cool2: The boys would love it!! But we will have to see how much more it would be. We arrive at the airport and fly out of Boston arriving at MCO "Mickey's Corporate Office" (I read this on another PTR and thought it was so funny) around 12:30. The double stroller I purchased off of craigslist is going to really come in handy here! We will get our rental car (Tip... we always track down one of those guys at the airport to help us with our MANY bags! The walk to the rental car place was pretty far and I remember thinking how nice it was that he took our bags and brought us right to the car!) We will be doing this again for sure!! After checking into the hotel and setting the room up (I need to unpack everything and set up our new "home") We have our first ADR at Chef Mickeys for dinner at 6:30pm. After dinner our plan is to hop on the monorail and go over to the POLY, grab a couple of yummy Polynesian drinks, sit on the beach and watch Wishes! - Nice ending to our first day don't ya think??
This brings us to DAY 2:, Wednesday, May 6th 2009 - This is DH's birthday!!
We will wake up nice and early this morning, drive to MK for an ADR at Crystal Palace at 8:05 AM!! - We are meeting our neighbors with their two little girls here for breakfast. I can't wait for this breakfast- Pooh is my very favorite. DH LOVES Eyore! Here is the plan for MK on this day. First ride... Dumbo! Then we want to go on any other rides in Fantasy Land (Peter pan, Small World etc.) After touring Fantasy Land, we have an ADR for lunch at The Plaza at 1:00. and we will then leave the parks and head back to POFQ and try for a nap or maybe some pool time. We will get ready for dinner and head over to the Grand Floridian for DH's birthday dinner - Our ADR is at 6:30 PM at Narcoosees. After dinner, I don't know if we will hang around and watch wishes again from the Grand Floridian or just head back to the room.
Day 3, Thursday, May 7th 2009 (Hollywood Studios)
We have an ADR for Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine at 8:05AM This is my least favorite park. Each time we have been here it has been so crowded and there really are not many good places to eat (IMO) and my kids are afraid of night show there. So the plan is our first ride will be Toy Story Mania and then we will go on a few other rides, have lunch at Pizza Planet and either stay for the parade and leave after or just go back to the hotel after lunch. After spending some time at the pool/hotel, we will hop on the boat and go to DTD. We have an ADR for dinner at 6:30 at Raglan Road. Then we will shop, shop and shop!!
Day 4, Friday, May 8th 2009 (EPCOT)
I am really excited for this day. We will wake up again for another 8:15AM ADR at the Princess Storybook breakfast in Epcot! after breakfast we will ride Test Track, and go on Nemo and see Crush! Lunch ADR at Tutto Italia at 12:30PM and then we will head back to POFQ. After Naps/Pool we plan to go back to Epcot and tour the countries and do Kim Possible! Our dinner ADR is at 6:00PM at Le Cellier. After dinner and touring the countries, (and trying out the many wonderful drinks in Epcot) we will hopefully grab a good spot and watch Illuminations!
Day 5, Saturday, May 9th 2009 (AK)
Ok... so baby is crying, and dog needs to go out and my 5 year old wants to play! I better run... I will post the rest later.

Thanks!! I saw on your report about Grays - The whole thing with Denny was horrible IMO. I will be pretty happy when she is off the show. Funny story about her... my friends husband is cousins with KH's husband. I guess they were not invited to the wedding- but they did see them last Thanksgiving... she was washing dishes with her!!

OK- so the kids are both down for their naps, and I have a second to myself to finish off my plan. Where was I....???
Day 5 - Saturday, May 9th 2009 - Animal Kingdom
Today we wake up bright and early again for another 8:05AM ADR at the Tuskerhouse. After breakfast we will go right to the Safari and then walk around Animal Kingdom- DH wants to go on Dinosaur and my 5 year old loves animals, so we will probably do the Jungle Trek and see all the animals. He also wants to check out the Dig Site. We have an ADR at 1:00 for lunch at Yak and Yetti and we will probably see some shows - I am really wondering... do I head back after lunch to the hotel for naps - or do we stay and watch the parade - because we have an ADR at 5:30PM at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Hmmm- what do you all think?? We loved this place last year and knew we wanted to try it again!! This will be a nice early night for us. Our plan is to go back to the hotel after dinner and go for a swim - play in the arcade and maybe try some of those Beignets and put the kids to bed early!! I am sure by now the kids will be having major MELTDOWNS from being so tired. This could be a night where we drag those chairs out onto the balcony and have a nice bottle of wine and talk all about the trip!:lovestruc
Day 6 - Sunday, May 10th 2009 - Magic Kingdom and Mothers Day!!
So today is Mothers Day- I really struggled with what to do. Part of me just wants to sleep in and stay at the hotel in the morning. The other part of me wants to be at MK for Rope Drop. Right now I have neither of those ideas planned. I have an ADR at 9am scheduled at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. I figure after Breakfast- we will walk over to the boardwalk and do some shopping and then head back to our hotel for pool/nap/lunch. I would like to get to the MK in the afternoon- hit ToonTown and do Buzz/Laugh Floor and see the parade (?) and then hop on the monorail and go over to the Poly- we have a Dinner ADR at 5:30PM at Ohana! Ohana=family - I couldnt ask for a better meal for Mothers Day dinner! (We LOVE this place!!) After Ohana we plan on going back to MK and thankfully we will have the double stroller, so if the kids get tired they can rest/sleep. This is an EMH and we plan on being here late! We will watch Wishes from Main Street and then go on some rides and just enjoy the park at night.
Day 7 - Monday, May 11th 2009 - Magic Kingdom
Well our last full day at Disney:sad1: I am going to be so sad. We have an ADR for Breakfast at Kona Cafe at 8:00AM After breakfast we will hop on the monorail and head to the Magic Kingdom. This is the big day for rides! We saved all the big ones thinking our 5 year old will be really into them now! - A mistake we learned from last trip was that he was so tired and afraid of everything on that first day and we were so sad thinking we just spent all this money and he hates it here! Well on the 2nd day he started warming up and by the end of the trip he loved everything!! On this day we will spend most of our time in Frontier/Adventure land. He wants to go on Splash Mountain and Big Thunder and DH is pretty excited to have someone ride these with him (I dont do these kind of rides- Peter Pan is more my speed) We have an ADR at 1:00 at Liberty Tavern for lunch and we will stay at the parks today finishing anything we may have missed. We will hopefully be going back to the hotel for a nap and then will get on the boat for our last night tradition. We will take the boat to DTD and shop. We have an ADR at 6:30PM at TRex (paying oop for this one- DS really wants to go here) and then we will take the boat back and I am sure by now I will be shedding some tears because I know we will have to leave tomorrow.:sad1:
Day 8 - Tuesday, May 12th 2009 - Home
Well today will be bittersweet- We have never been away from our dog for so long- so I am sure we will all want to go home and see Daisy!! But I am sure we will be pretty sad that we are leaving Disney. We have an ADR for Breakfast at Ohana at 9:30AM -I really dont know what we will do this day. We need to leave by 3 for our flight and return the car. So, maybe stay at the hotel and hit the pool - or take the boat to DTD again... not sure here!
So that about sums up all the planning we have done over the last year! I cant believe its almost here and it's all paid for. For 53 more days though, we will be reading all these posts on DIS getting even more excited for our trip.
Perfect timing- Kids are up again and the 5 year old wants to play on the computer and I need to change a smelly baby, I should run.
Thanks for reading!!!!

You picked some great ADR's -- are most of these restaurants new to you? How did you decide? We are going to a few of the same for the first time this June. I love your plan to go to the Poly and have drinks on the beach vs. going back to MK.. we are planning to do the same! :thumbsup2 I loved your bags, too... Snacks are definitely a must! Enjoy your Pinocchio night! ;) Italian food, Italian children's story "Disney" style! Nothing better! Can't wait to do it ourselves... :wave2:

Thanks for reading!
So it's Italian! We thought it was Italian (I know Stomboli is Italian) but Pinocchio Haus in MK threw us off. - We thought "Haus" was German!? We have gone to Boma, Ohana, Hollywood and Vine, the rest are ALL new. Our thing is that last time we went we did mostly CS and it was really stressful for us with the two little kids. DH would go up to the counter and try to juggle 2 trays back and I would try to wait and find a table to open up with two hungry kids - and then people would stand around your table when you were almost done ready to grab it!! So this time, we thought it would make it nicer (even though it takes time away from the parks) to sit down more at our meals. Well that and the fact that my husband was so upset that Apps were not included anymore in the basic dining plan!!
I am SO looking forward to sitting on that beach at the Poly having a nice cocktail and watching Wishes!!!:cloud9:

Oh, maybe we will run into you!! I will have my green Mickey heads (with My2disneyboys) on it... so if you see me, make sure to say hi!! He is such a closet DIS fan!!
We have watched Pinocchio about 3 or 4 times too - but tonight was the big Disney Night! We just tucked both boys into bed. DH and I are going to watch Role Models tonight:happytv: It looks pretty good!!

Role Models was with Seann William Scott, Paul Rudd, Christopher Mintz-Plasse. They were trying to avoid going to jail so had to do community service at this program like Big Brother - but they were not very good role models! It was alright. We saw Sex Drive last week- that was really funny.

hmm I dont think I know that one. Is it Scary? I am a big chicken. My DH is always trying to get me to watch scary movies and then he goes away on a business trip and I am up all night scared:scared1: oh wait- I think that is an old movie that was re made - is it Disney?
Do you have RedBox? I love it- dollar rentals that you pick up while you grocery shop - I just learned that I can drop them off at any red box location too. This week I picked up Rachel's getting married and Changeling. I hear that they both are a little depressing though!

Witch Mountain isn't out yet- comes out next Friday. I'm pretty sure it's disney. Looks more sci fi then scary to me. We do have redbox here but we use netflix right now. Although lately we hardly ever watch them. Too much stuff on tv.

Thank you!! They will do whatever you want- With Myles I loved his curls and they only took a tiny little bit off. (just so we could say his first haircut was at Disney) It was so cool- they give you the lock of hair in a little pouch with a Mickey Sticker, and he got Mickey ears that said "First Haircut" I am thinking of doing again with Owen (although I have already cut his hair -so it will not be his actual first haircut- just a first haircut at Disney!)

So today we had our breakfast with Mickey and Minnie. It was great! The kids had a blast. At first Owen couldn't get enough of them- then he was a little scared - at the end he was crying because he didnt want them to leave, so I would say all in all it was a really good experience. Myles was great- he kept saying to Mickey "we are going to see you in Disney World in 7 weeks!!" and he kept saying to us "I can't wait to go- I wish we were going now!!". It was so cute. Here are some pictures of our day.

Thanks! Having Disney to look forward to this past year has been awesome. It has given us so many opportunities to do such fun things with the kids- another thing we have done, was for Christmas the boys got a Disney Cookbook and they cook with their dad once a week. (we try to at least- it doesnt happen every week) When it's all said in done in 8 weeks I think we are going to all have some withdrawls for sure:scared: and YES they were a little scary/funny looking - but they didnt even notice!!

I think your FINAL PLAN looks great. The only thing I would wonder that might not work well is your 8am Kona breakfast after a late night at MK.
I just convinced my DS not to do Mexico TS (too many bad reviews of that place) on Cinco de Mayo so now I need to decided if we should do another TS meal. I was paying OOP for CP so we could just use the points for that but I think adding another TS would be good too. I just called to pay off the trip today.
LOVE your Narcoosees outfit!
Looks like breakfast was fun!
Can I join you for dessert tonight?

Hi! It would be good not to have to pay OOP - are you by any chance going to DTD? If so T-Rex isnt on the Dining Plan- so that would be a good OOP place.
Thanks- I was wondering about Kona as well. I may try for it on Mothers Day. Because I do really want to go there!! I am excited for Narcoosees. I hope it all comes together like we are planning.

I can't believe we made more changes! Basically we changed Mothers day from Cape May (we did it before and I wanted the extra time at MK instead of the boardwalk) to 1900 Park Fare and we added a quick trip to MK on the day we leave and Whispering Canyon for lunch. - I figure that ticket was going to go to waste and we purchased the deluxe dining so I didnt want our last meal to be a CS!
POFQ - 8 days (Deluxe Dining) - Renting a car.
Day of Arrival Tuesday, May 5th, 2009
We arrive at the airport and fly out of Boston arriving at MCO "Mickey's Corporate Office" (I read this on another PTR and thought it was so funny) around 12:30. We will get our rental car and head to POFQ. We have our first ADR at Chef Mickeys for dinner at 6:35pm.
ADR at Crystal Palace at 8:05 AM!!
ADR for lunch at The Plaza at 1:00. and we will then leave the parks and head back to POFQ and try for a nap or maybe some pool time.
ADR for Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine at 8:05AM and lunch at Pizza Planet and go back to the hotel after lunch.
Lunch ADR at Tutto Italia at 12:30PM and then we will head back to POFQ. After Naps/Pool we plan to go back to Epcot and tour the countries and do Kim Possible! Our dinner ADR is at 5:10PM at Le Cellier. After dinner and touring the countries, (and trying out the many wonderful drinks in Epcot) we will hopefully grab a good spot and watch Illuminations!
Day 5, Saturday, May 9th 2009 (AK)
8:05AM ADR at the Tuskerhouse.
We have an ADR at 1:00 for lunch at Yak and Yetti and an ADR for dinner at 5:30PM at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
(UPDATED) Day 6 - Sunday, May 10th 2009 - Magic Kingdom and Mothers Day!! [/B][/COLOR]
ADR at 8:05am scheduled at 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian. Spend the morning at MK and then go back to hotel for naps/pool and lunch at the pool.
Dinner ADR at 5:30PM at Ohana! After Ohana we plan on going back to MK watch Wishes from Main Street and then go on some rides and just enjoy the park at night.
Day 7 - Monday, May 11th 2009 - Magic Kingdom
ADR for Breakfast at Kona Cafe at 8:00AM ADR at 1:00 at Liberty Tavern for lunch and we will stay at the parks today finishing anything we may have missed. We will hopefully be going back to the hotel for a nap and then will get on the boat for our last night tradition. We will take the boat to DTD and shop. We have an ADR for dinner at 6:30PM at TRex (paying oop for this one- DS really wants to go here) and then we will take the boat back and I am sure by now I will be shedding some tears because I know we will have to leave tomorrow.
(Updated)Day 8 - Tuesday, May 12th 2009 - Home
We have an ADR for Breakfast at Ohana at 9:30AM and we will go to MK after for a last walk around- maybe ride our favorite ride and take some pictures! We will take the boat to Whispering Canyon for an ADR for Lunch at 1:00 and then take the boat back to MK and get in the car and head to the airport.
Let me know what you think of the changes. Thanks for reading!!!!

I think DH really wants to do T-Rex, but I'm not sure what day we'll be there. I wonder if we'd be able to call in the morning for a evening ADR??

I think you probably could. If not, you could always go early, put your name in and walk around DTD. I hear on these boards that it's really easy to share a meal because the portions are so huge. (So for us paying out of pocket hopefully won't be too bad!) However, getting by the build a bear workshop (build a dino) on the way out, is probably going to cost us a little!!

thank you so much! My husband actually took the photo and had the idea. I had thought he was crazy but it did come out great!! We drove across country on our honeymoon and he had us hang our feet in the grand canyon and take a photo of our feet and I was saying "this is going to be a weird picture" and 9 years later it's the only photo displayed in a frame from our honeymoon and everyone LOVES it.
Looks like we both are going to Disney on the Same Day! I am interested to hear what your plans are:goodvibes

I was balling too!! Emily kept asking, "What wong momma?" I normally don't watch the show, but DH is out of town so I have total control of the remote!!:happytv: I felt so bad for the other brother. Hopefully, the brother and dad will inspire him and help him to become healthier. Maybe this will be his wake-up call! I used to watch that show but this year it conflicted with some other stuff we watch. I hope the brother (I saw the previews) is able to loose the weight too but it's going to be much harder for him since he didn't get to do the isolation boot camp. I mean when you have absolutely nothing else to do besides exercise you're going to do it.

It's Friday and you know what that means.... DISNEY NIGHT!
I just got back from the grocery store with the two boys (Every time I go, I say to myself...."why didn't I just wait for Wayne to get home and go alone?") They both like to sit in the HUGE cart that is also a car, (but has very little room for your food and is really hard to push around) and it puts them a little too close if you ask me! So, they each want to hold and eat EVERYTHING I put in the cart. By the time I get to checkout everything has been tested out! I also spend probably $30.00 more when they are with me because they "have" to have everything.
oh yeah, back to Disney Night! Tonight is DH's turn to pick a movie.
Movie: Invincible
Activity: When Daddy gets home (Usually around 3:30) we will take the boys outside and play a nice game of football!
Dinner: We got Italian sausages, hot dogs, stuff to make nacho's (beer for us grown-ups) and for dessert- they had to get these whoopi pies (they look like elmo!) - The dessert has nothing to do with football but they really wanted them and they were cute.

So I made a couple of changes to my plans. One of them is that I canceled Tutto Italia (which I am sure me and DH would have loved) but we have a "fancy" dinner that night, so I wanted to do something the boys will enjoy more. A few weeks ago I took the boys to the Aquarium and they LOVED it. Owen kept "ooohing and aghing" So GUESS the new place???
Coral Reef! I got a reservation at noon on May 8th!! I am pretty excited for it. It actually makes total sense because we have the Storybook Princess Meal at 8:05AM and then we plan the morning in Living Seas side of things and then to leave after lunch. We plan on going back around 4 for touring World Showcase and having dinner at LeCellier and Illuminations. My favorite!! - I don't know what it is about this show, but I always get such chills and always get a tear in my eye while I watch it. DH too (Don't tell anyone though! hee!) Here is a picture of Owen and Daddy enjoying Illuminations (Owen is 8 weeks old!)

http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/nickie0214/IMG_4100.jpg
Here is one of Daddy and Myles enjoying the show!
I also made a couple of reservations for the only two days I had CS plans. On DHS day- I made a reservation at 50's Prime Time and on Mothers Day- I made a reservation at the Plaza (we are already eating there but I think it is our kind of place and we are really looking forward to a big juicy cheeseburger and chocolate shake! (Having this twice isn't going to be a problem!) I think this way, we come out ahead on the Deluxe plan (I don't want to waste a meal credit on a slice of pizza when I could get a whole meal at LeCellier instead!
Let me know what you think of the changes!!

Great changes! The boys will LOVE Coral Reef, we ate there last year and Emily loved watching the fishies! We were fortunate enough to be seated next to the aquarium, but all of seats have a great view.
We'll be at the Plaza on the 10th too, for lunch!! The Plaza is delish! I know what you mean about not wasting the DxDP credits on CS. I think we have 1 credit each to use on CS, but we did book 5 Signature or 2TS credit meals. Yummy!

I'm not sure why your post didn;'t show on my PTR. It was weird. I could see that you "posted" but when I looked at the thread it wasn't there.

Ooooh, coral reef! I'm sure your boys will LOVE that. That's going to be exciting. Are you telling them about it, or will it be a surprise when you walk in.
Your other ADRs look great too, good job. I wish I was going to be there on Mother's day. That was our original plan, but then we thought about it, and figured it would be mean that my stepson would not be able to see his mother on Mother's day.:confused3 So we changed plans to leave after.

So I just got off the phone with Disney Dining and spoke to a great CM. He said for me to drive to Poly/ park for free/ have my breakfast at Kona and then take the monorail to MK and then come back and get my car when I am done. I thought I would get towed or that this isnt ok to do. He said it was and I should do this.
What do you think???? I would certainly make my life MUCH easier....

Hi Nicole,
I finally made it over here. Your trip plans look great and you have a gorgeous family! I have thought about trying POFQ a few times so I can't wait to hear how you like it there. Your dining plans look excellent as well. I love the pooh character descriptions you used for all of you . So any luck with WW, thinking of joining myself. Having the worst time losing the rest of the Thomas' weight and he will be 5 LOL.

Hi! Thank you for the nice words. I will let you know for sure how we like it. Every time I call Disney Dining the CM always says it's their favorite resort. (so that is a good sign!)
I had such great results on WW like 8 years ago (before kids) but since I have really struggled and I have tried to re-join several times. Thanks for asking but personally for me I just can't keep motivated and end up loosing my money every time I join!!

If they say it's ok then I'd do it. It's an off time of year so I don't think they'll be too strict about it.

I looked on that Mom's panel website and they said NOT to do it. That would really stink if my rental was towed!
BTW!! I got an Alamo Mini Van for the week for $236.00 After taxes and all the other charges they love to tag on!! I am super excited.

If you have dining reservations, why couldn't you park there while you are having breakfast? If they let you in, they have a "gate" right, then it isn't like they are going to go searching the lot for cars they have not "given" the okay to... I am just trying to think how they would work that out.... the other thing is that you would have a parking "permit" for your resort, right? I doubt they would ever consider towing a dis resort guest from one resort that is in another resort parking lot... but that is my opinion... even in the UG they say to do this... especially at the boardwalk for Epcot/DHS... Dinner reservations for one of those restaurants gets you parking... I'd do it. :confused3

Good point- if I have my parking permit for POFQ at least they will know I am a Disney Guest. Maybe I would get the "you can't park here" but not tow me. I think I will do it each day except for my last day. If I ever got towed on my last day, and missed my flight that would STINK big time!

So I called my buddies over at 407 wdw dine... (yes it's on my speed dial and they know my voice now! ha-ha:rotfl2:) and changed my last meal from Whispering Canyon to Tony's. This way we dont need to leave the MK- give us some more time in the park and not be rushed. We ate at Tonys last year, it was our first meal and we had been up since 4am for a 6:30am flight- it had been raining all day- we were so tired - and really didnt enjoy it. Maybe this time it will be better.
I cant believe we are going to the MK 4 out of 7 days. I guess most are just up until lunch, then we have lunch and leave for naps/swimming at the hotel. Some of the nights we come back after dinner at the GF or Poly.
I am so excited to try all of these resort places to eat.
that's nice

Hey everyone! Tomorrow is Disney Night and we are doing Peter Pan!
We are either going to have Fish Sticks and Steak "plank" fries or French Bread Pizza boats.
We will have pirate booty while we watch the movie (my son LOVES this stuff)
Nonnie and Papa are coming over and wearing their PJ's and bringing a treasure cake for dessert!
For activity we are playing Follow the Leader and going on a treasure hunt. (i am going to draw a map with clues to the "treasure"
On another note- PLEASE tell me someone watches American Idol. My DVR shut off RIGHT before they announced if he was getting a second chance or if he is off the show!!! I hope someone can fill me in.

I have been having NIGHTMARES lately that one of my kids gets LOST at Disney!!! :scared1: I wake up in a panic and then can't go back to sleep because I am up thinking of ways to keep them safe. I kind of remember this happening last time we went too! I think I may have mentioned before here that I am a CRAZY, neurotic person (ha-ha) The baby will mostly be in the stroller (hopefully) and it's Myles that I am really afraid of getting lost. Ok! I am not alone. It's funny actually because part of my paranoia about this trip is my (just turned, little peanut) 5 year old has decide he wants to do Splash Mountain and Big Thunder- I have the worst thoughts about him flying out of the rides! When he was 3 1/2 (the last time we went) he couldn't even handle Philharmagic! So I think this trip will be quite different!!

yeah I got one for my 19 month old and Wayne REFUSES to let me bring it or ever use it. I say I dont care what anyone thinks as long as my kid is safe but he thinks Owen will never forgive us for it- we really feel different on it- and instead of fighting we are going to have to take turns dealing with a squirming, screaming 19 month old who just wants to run free!

Well if you ever need another one let me know! HA-HA I have a cute little Monkey backpack that will never be used!

I know!! I was watching that May Crowd Thread and it freaks me out. I went the week after xmas one year - it was REALLY crowded. Last time was in September/free dining and it was SO nice. No crowds! I thought May was going to be a little busier but NOT 8 or 9's!!
I guess, I will stick to the plan- I have an ADR each morning at 8:05 and then a lunch ADR around 12 or 1 and then we plan on leaving the park each day and going back to the hotel. I just hope the mornings are lower crowds like they say they always are!! My husbands Birthday is May 6th. He will get those 4 FP for each person in our group instead of the Gift Card if it is really busy- that will probably help a little!

Love the new PJ's! Peter Pan night looked like a blast! Congrats on the 5 lbs!
My Disney nightmares are usually about loosing my luggage or camera. I bought my kids silicone bracelets with our cell phone numbers on them. I have to say I did loose my youngest once for about 30 seconds. I had met about 10 other disers for dinner at MGM at Hollywood & Vine one night and my DD pulled out of my DH's hand as we left the restaurant-he thought she found me but she didn't. We all went to get our photo taken and DD wasn't there. I found her right away in front of the restaurant and there were already 2 CM's with her. She was on the ground crying. They didn't even notice her bracelet. It was scary 30 seconds but the good thing that came from this was she still remembers it and doesn't pull away from us any more and I have since explained that she doesn't have to talk to the CM's-she's really shy-she can just give them her bracelet and they will call us.

Yay for Garden Grocer!! We ordered from them last year and were very pleased! I don't know if I'm gonna order again this year though. I think with the DxDP, we only need water, but it would be nice to have snacks for Emily....OK, maybe I'll order again....I don't know!!:confused3

We are doing the DxDP too and I originally thought of Garden Grocer for waters and diapers and then added in the drinkable yogurts, milk, beer, a bottle of wine and some snacks for back at the hotel. I am very excited for it!!
I'm jealous of that weather too. They're talking about another snow storm here this weekend. YUCK!
SNOW!? No way!!
You have every right to be EXCITED about your Garden Grocer order. I would be too. That just means, IT'S ALMOST TIME TO GO!!!
My boss is in Florida right now, last night we all called her from work, and she said it was 85, and the top of her feet were burnt. Oh, I would do anything for sunburnt feet right now:yay:
So excited!!! I can't believe it's almost time for all of us:-)

I've been thinking about Garden Grocer too. Do you have to be there if they deliver beer though?
Wow, your trip is getting so close!!

Tonight we are going to do Playhouse Disney Night. I know we are going to have "Hot Dogs" and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Tigger and Pooh and Handy Manny BUT I can't think of anything for dessert or activity.
Any Ideas?!
