Drama at my house over the weekend, and with work too, I had to nappy noodles after I got DS17 off to school http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e147/ddavis860/smiley/offtobed.gif
And I forgot I have to meet DS17 at BJ's this afternoon to see what they will charge for glasses. I'm sorry but the Dr office and lenscrafters are over $200. That's just crazy!! Same frames with lenses online are like $120. What a rip off!!

OH!!! I'm so glad to hear that!! There is a place online that I can get my reading script for like $8.00 plus shipping. I just need my pupliay distance, and I'm good to go. I'm getting that today, along with readers from BJ's while he is getting his done. And I'm checking out his contact script with them too... It really chaps my hiney that these other places charge so much!

BJ's says they can take 7-10 working days to get the glasses back from the lab, but we've always gotten them in 3-5 max. Our DD gets her contacts there too (now) - oodles cheaper than other places we've used, but I can't remember by how much - I think they cost us well under $200 for the year's supply (which actually usually lasts her at least 16 months) - $200 is what I budget for her anyway, and I WOULD know if it exceeded that!!!
On my list today is to file our (2) claims with the Fed Court in the class action suit a Chicago woman filed against LensCrafters for unlawful/deceptive pricing on kids' glasses between 1/1/05 and 7/20/08. I received the notice/paperwork in the mail the other day, and it looks like we'll get a big $30 back :rolleyes1 - after shelling out $200 smackeroos a pair there for my DS's glasses - before we stumbled upon BJs! (Edited to add - the slimy little rats! Now that I've read through stuff and filed, we're eligible for a $30 "voucher" for LensCrafters as the proposed settlement - like I'm EVER gonna buy stuff there again... NOT! If I ever see the vouchers - in the summer (!) I suppose I'll get glasses wipes or something.) I really thought we'd get a refund...
Good luck - some folks might have different experiences, but we've had nothing but good luck and great prices at BJs optical...

Good luck on the glasses Debbie!
Thanks for the hugs and good wishes gals. My biopsy came back clear!!! No cancer and no precancerous cells!!!!!! I will have to have surgery, but it's an outpatient thing so not too bad. I don't know when yet. I wish it could all just be taken care of and done with now. I don't like all this waiting around!

I called earlier to get ressies for CKC Valley Forge at the end of July...Sold out in my hotel of choice. Apparently CK didn't get as many rooms in the block this year. So, I had to get rooms in the Raddison, which is attached to the convention center too, but is a much longer walk. I'm guessing that CK thinks there will be fewer people due to the economy. :sad2:

AR, I'll be fine hostessing the swap. I'm tough!!!!!:rotfl: A couple of years ago, we were on vacation out in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and I had to have my appendix removed in the middle of the vacation. That sure wasn't planned!:rotfl: Anyway, 24 hours after my surgery, I was out of the hospital and back to being a tourist. I was slower and had to be careful, but I was out there. So, this will be much simpler and I should only be down for a day and then ready to go again!
Thanks everyone for :cheer2: I know I feel much better knowing there's nothing bad going on!!!!:goodvibes
