No one has ever posted about renting from that company.
In fact, your post is the first time I have ever heard of them.

I would not trust these people for several reasons. I don't know where you heard of them but I find several major shortcomings.
1. The domain name was first registered December 17, 2008 and was changed/updated January 27, 2009. Obviously they have not been in business too long.
2. The registration name ad address for administrative and technical contacts for the domain name is in Stamford, CT, with no address shown.
3. They show two addresses in the area. One is a fairly new high-rise office tower in downtown Orlando; I think this is a "convenience" office.
4. The other address, in Kissimmee, is just around the corner from a location where a person spammed our board about rental scooters a few months ago; I suspect this may be the same people under a new name.

Not sure what is up but some computer rental site that does not have info and is glitched wants me to rent their scooters. I pass. Randy's and others are local based and have dedicated employees with a sound track record. I can go to several sites and they have a ton of info on the company. I would want a dedicated staff on site and not someone out to make some bucks by renting scooters without the service.

If you google applescooter.com reviews you will see they are legit and a lot of people give them praise at allears.net JM2C
I had personal experience with them on our last trip in Dec. 2009. They were great and it was easy to do business with them. I did it online for the reservation and I made one phone call to them; because, I had never rented from an off site scooter company. I was a diehard renting from Disney all the time. I chose them because they were cheaper. I got the smallest, portable scooter they rent and a friend got the next model up. She wanted more leg room and needed a bigger model; but it was still portable, too. The friend's scooter was practically new. Neither one of us had any problems. I rented for two weeks and the friend did it for a week.
I actually got the scooter a day earlier for no charge; because, the scooter was already at my Disney resort. The rep called me to tell me it would be there a day early.
We left the scooter at the resort when done at the luggage area and again it was very simple with returning it.
I have posted here about this rental company; I'm in favor of their scooters because they are so reasonably priced. A travel agent overheard a conversation I was having about it with my friend near the food court at the POP and came to talk about it with us because she heard the price being mentioned in our conversation. She saw the scooters and she was impressed with the price for what you get.
My postings are ususally in other posters' threads when they ask about renting scooters and such.
I'm not a guru when it comes to making a website and such myself and maybe this company has shortcomings on creating websites on the internet, but what does that have to do with using a scooter? And just because a company is newer doesn't make them automatically bad.
I will rent from them again.
I do feel it would be good to hear about any bad experiences from any of the scooter rental companies. Since we didn't have any issues with repair and such I can't say how they would react if a problem occurred.

We use K & M Rentals for scooters and wheelchairs. They are less expensive than others (including Apple) and are very reliable.

I just checked both companies and Apple is still the cheapest. There's a $25/week difference on comparable scooters. Also, Apple gives you better rates for shorter rental periods than most places.
I have nothing against K and M. We all choose who we want to rent from.

I used Apple Scooters this summer. I had no issues or problems. They were really nice when I called them to place the rental. The chair was even there earlier than our requested time. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

We just used them for our December trip to rent a scooter for my Mom. The chair was there waiting for us when we got to the hotel. The instructions for disassembling it weren't left, but they were able to talk me through the steps over the phone and everything was fine. It was so easy just picking it up at the hotel and then dropping it off there. My mom loved having the scooter since it gave her more freedom than our last trip when we pushed her in a manual wheelchair. My Aunt and Uncle went just about a week before we did and rented one from Disney each day and couldn't believe the rate we got for the week. I would use them again if we take my Mom.

We used Apple Scooters in December 2010 and found them to be very helpful. Never had any issues with Hubby's scooter. They were very accomodating when we called one evening to get another scooter for me the following day for our Epcot day. My feet and legs were terribly swollen after a couple days at the parks and thought they could use a rest at Epcot.
I would highly recommend them and will definately use them again in the future.

We are frequent visitors to WDW, and have dealt with apple scooter since 2009, usually 2 to 3 times per year. They are an absolute pleasure to deal with. I did have a problem last year while at Epcot. I called Alex at apple scooter. He delivered a new scooter in less than 30 minutes inside the park. Thats what I call service.

This past trip, I ran into issues with my personal scooter batteries petering out on me. I had know idea that they were bad before travel or I would have replaced them before leaving. Anyways I called Apple and explained to them my issue and asked if they had any batteries that they could sell me. The man on the other end of the phone ( I can't remeber his name) said "I think so, but I'll have our manager call you in the morning, and if we do we can come and change them out around 9 am". He called me back the next morning and said he didn't have any after checking with his manager. All the batteries that they had were all used and a new shipment wasn't to come in for a couple more days. Even though he personally couldn't get me the batteries he did give me the name of a local medical supply company which carries the batteries I needed. I really appreciated the help that he tried to give me. I think a lot of other companies wouldn't even have tried to help me, especially since I was not even a customer of theirs. This company is concerned not only with those who they already have as customers, but those who maybe customers at sometime. I would definetly call them if I needed to rent a scooter in the future. I was very impresed with their service.
:thumbsup2
I had a terrific experience with this company. I was uncertain on if I would need the scooter due to a knee issue. When I called the company they informed me that I could cancel anytime without penalty. They even added a bungee cord to hold my crutch for me while on the scooter.
One day at Epcot the battery started to die out on me. I called the office number and left a message as it was 7:00 at night. Someone called me back within 15 min and said they would bring me a new battery! THey did and it worked fine after that! I even pushed the battery (forgot the charge it one night) two days and it lasted both 12 hour days while at the parks!
The scooter was a life saver! I highly rec this company!!

If you look at when this thread started, it was 2009. This thread is nearly 2 years old. When the first question was posted, we really had never heard of Apple Scooter before. We did not start getting a lot of reviews of this company until early 2010. It was after we had several good reviews that we added it to the FAQs.

I rented from Apple for our trip this past Sept. this is the 3rd company in as many trips that we have used.... and this was the 1st time I had no issues with the scooter and power! I plan on renting from them again this Sept.....
I had ordered the scooter for the morning after our arrival, but when we arrived at the resort it was already there waiting for me!
the only complaint that I had was a minor one.. the scooter I received had a standard seat while I was expecting the captains chair that they picture on the site.

I decided to buy a scooter,as I avoid family outings. Do not want to be an anchor.I bought my new scooter from Alex at Apple Scooter. I could not have asked for a better transaction. Comes with one free rental when you are in Orlando. Which works out great for me as I live in WA. state, and don't want the hassle of dealing with the airlines transporting my new scooter. Anyway I don't want to sound like a salesman, but I do highly recomend them. Next WDW adventure begins 3/31/2011 !!!

I got the four wheel version.....in retrospect and next time, I will get the 3 wheeler. Especially getting on/off the busses. The 3 wheeler is much easier. I had bus drivers get mad at me cause they said I should wasn't turning the wheel enough....A couple times I just got up and let them do it. They did no better job then I had done.
Also, remember...TURTLE IS YER FRIEND!

Hi Jewel.
I will be renting a four wheeler in May - but I do not intend to take them on the busses. I'm sticking with a day at each park. This way I won't have to deal with the stress of taking them on and off a bus. Was there any other "problems" with the four wheeler?

Taking the scooter on the buses is the only thing holding me back about renting one, I know to fully enjoy my trip I need to rent one since I have limited time walking without having to stop and sit to take a break due to breathing difficulties due to my asthma. Glad to hear you had a positive experience

I was very nervous about that also especially with all the negative comments on this board. However I did not have any negative experiences. The bus drivers are marvelous and very helpful. The other people on the buses were friendly and very courteou. We were a party of 7 but only my DH came on with me, my DD and her family waited in line but we were always on the same bus. A couple of times there was another scooter or whelchair also. All in all I was 100% happy with my decision to rent from Apple and for the whole week. Also got to drive around and see the whole resort. This is the way to go to really enjoy if you have mobility issues.

Add me to the list of people who think Apple was awesome. The scooter was waiting for me when I got to my hotel (off property) and I ended up taking it back to the Apple store when I was done because it was on our way to I-4 but they would have picked it up from the hotel no problem.
I did the smaller 4 wheel model and had no problem at all getting on and off the bus. I had to do buses twice, once going from MGM to AK and once from MGM to TTC. Both times were easy in and easy out with very nice cm's helping me out.

Has anyone rented the 4 wheel scooter from Apple and place it in the trunk of a rental car? I'm trying to figure out if it's as easy as they say it is on their website. I am taking my mom with us for her first trip in April and I usually rent a car because I've learned my lesson with my kids. We stay at the parks till closing and then they end up falling asleep on the bus and the bus stop is usually much farther than the parking lot to get them to wake up and walk back to the room. I'm just hoping the scooter won't be too difficult to break down for transport. Also, we are staying at the Boardwalk Villas and will be walking/scooting to Epcot. Will a single charge last the length of the boardwalk and all day at the park?
Thank you in advance!

DH did say he would load it if I did not think I can. I think a lot of my apprehension about loading it has come from some of the posts of guests complaining about people on scooters. I am glad to hear the bus drivers are so helpful. I am sure the 1st time will be the worst, and after that I hope it will be a piece of cake since I do want to go to MK

I have, The go go's that Apple Scooter rents disassemble & assemble..... quick & easy. Breaks down into 5 pieces, and will fit in the trunk of a compact car. I rent this scooter often as I do not allways stay in Disney Resorts. If you go to the Pride mobility web site they have a video showing how to assemble, disassemble the go go. Also I'm sure Alex would be more than glad to run through it with You. Hope You have a great time Patty.

I'm at Disney now with my wife and I rented a scooter from Apple this trip. We also have a compact rental car. I started the trip putting the base of the unit in the back seat of the car but finally figured out how to take more of the pieces apart so it will fit in the trunk.
It won't be easy for someone to load the base of the unit in the trunk of a compact car alone, but it's doable with someone helping.
Also, I've yet to see my power meter go below the first light of full power so I think you could go a long, long way with no need to charge.
we used them last August. They were great. I put the wrong day in my reservation and we had a meet with them so we could learn how to take the scotter apart. I forgot we changed our ressie to the next day. Alex was great he just changed our ressie to the next day. The scotter worked great we will be using them again this year. Michelle

I rented from them last Sept (and will again this Sept) and they didn't charge until delivery.... you can even reserve it without giving your card info right away.... they ask that you supply within either a week-10 days beforehand
I called on Tuesday to book for my trip in August. We got a great deal for our reservation. We are reserving from the 20-29 and because of the times of drop off and pick up it worked out to 10 days cost under $170.00. Alex told me they had a special going on right now and the price would be good in August if I booked now. I did not have to leave a cc#, he sent me a conformation and said I have to provide the CC info 3 day prior to arrival. This will be our second time and I highly recommend them. Alex is always helpful anytime I have called him. Michelle

Beat Apples price on the same scooters and great service.
Also have onsite (Disney/Universal) service people.
sitting here on U.S. 1 in Titusville on an Allstar scooter right now waiting for the final liftoff of Endeavour, weather is good so pray it's goes up in less than 4 hours.
If you have not had the chance to see a shuttle launch live, make plans for the final in June. It is unreal!

We were there 3 weeks ago and rented my friend's scooter from Apple. Great customer service, the scooter ran so well, no issues at all. Each night we charged it in the room and it was ready to go the next morning. It's size is wonderful, my friend had the 3 wheeled one, no problems getting on buses, a little more challenging getting it into our rental car (fullsize).
I just wanted to give my feedback, as I has requested it when we were making the decision as to which company. :thumbsup2

i rented from them last september and reserved my scooter for this coming trip. they are wonderful!! i highly recommend them. they are reasonably priced and the customer service was great. the scooter was comfortable and the battery lasted a long time. if you rent from them you will not be disappointed.
:thumbsup2
I rented the large 4 wheel scooter last year from apple and was very happy with the service we received. We rented it for a week and when we called Alex and asked how much it would cost to keep it one additional day, he said no charge.
My only complaint is that manuvoring on the bus being that I had the large 4 wheel captains chair model was not so easy. I will be reserving a 3 wheel model this time, but I an unsure whether I should get the smaller model or the larger one...the main reason I got the larger one last time was it has a longer use. I'm afraid if I get the smaller one the battery won't last the whole day if we are out from morning to night. Has anyone used apples smaller 3 wheel model and had any issues of the battery not lasting a full day of heavy use?

I am planning on reserveing a scooter for our Oct trip but what is holding me back is which one to get. It will be my first time ever using one so I really thing the smaller 3 wheel model would be best for manuerability but I am worried about the lesser battery power too. Another thing that worries me is I read where someone had a problem with the smaller model 'lurching" and the poster said it was because of their weight they thought. I weight 235 so I wonder if that is a problem I might also encounter if I rent the smaller 3 wheel model.

I have the exact model that Apple is renting in their 3 wheel smaller scooter. I weigh close to 225 and have never had any issues with my scooter not lasting all day and into the night. As long as you don't keep it turned way up on the speed, and remember to turn it off when ever you are sitting still for a length of time. You should have no problems lasting throughout the day.

Thanks....then maybe I will reserve the smaller one. It will be easter to 'park' on the buses

The Apple scooter that my friend rented last month was the 3 wheel model. She weighs about 200 lbs, and never experienced lurching problems. Trust me, we were gone for the entire day, and never worried about the battery power.
Hope this input helps.

I believe I am the poster you refered to... I had 2 different scooters from 2 different companys that lurched, but no problem with the heavy duty model... however, I weigh around 280 (which is much closer to the 300 limit than 235).... you should have no problems with the basic model.

Thank you both so very much for taking the time to reply, I can rent the smaller 3 wheel model now with complete confidence. DISers are the BEST!:thumbsup2

I've already PMed this to Sue for inclusion in the FAQ, but thought I would post it here as well.
I just talked to Apple Scooter and they do rent 2 other scooters besides what is shown on the web page. The Pride Victory 9 and the Pride Maxima, in both 3 and 4 wheel.
So there are 2 other options. The inclusion of the Maxima is great, because it is for pooh sized guests (Up to 500lb, that's a lot of honey!).

I would not trust these people for several reasons.
I had some issues with them that I posted on another thread. Fully charged batteries dying in early evening, non-functioning/dangerous chargers, poor customer service, etc.

:)As stated in my earlier post I used them last Oct. and then my DH used them in March and no problems here. In fact, I have to reserve one for him to use in Oct. and will be using Apple again.

Just got back from two weeks at WDW. Had another great experience renting a gogo traveller 3 wheel scooter from Alex at Apple scooter. At parks for over 12 hours at a time on most days, no problems at all with batteries having enough charge. I talked with Alex, and he told me they put new batteries in all their scooters every 4 to 5 months. Also as allways my scooter was waiting for me at my hotel when I arrived. Thanks again Apple Scooter for the great customer service.
I was one of the very first users of Apple Scooters and I was also one that highly recommended them and I still do.
Due to a post on this board I called and spoke to the owner personally from Apple. I felt obliged to discuss this other post with him; because, I was one to profess my likes of them.
Anyway, he told me some interesting stuff. There has been a poster who works for another scooter company trying to say bad things about them on websites like this one. I was astonished by this remark, but I could see this happening to all the scooter companies.
Anyway, he also mentioned just like they can have mechanical issues with scooters that the rental users can also mistreat scooters and cause their own problems. He shared one story where he knew the renter had to be running through rain puddles and driving the scooter in a downpour and then complained that the scooter wasn't working afterwards. You can't water log a scooter and expect it to keep running.
Personally, we have used Apple Scooters a lot and I will continue to use them for future trips. As long as a scooter is mechanical there can be problems with all of them and each rental company will have good and bad stories to tell.

I had never given any thought to the things mentioned in your post but makes total sense. I have read enough good posts about Apple and decided to rent from them myself in October.

I have been to Apple's store. They are actually in the Crossroads Shopping Center right across SR535 from Hotel Plaza Blvd. I did not meet Alex, but they had a large supply of ECVs on hand.

We used Apple during our trip in May; we did have trouble - twice, but I will say the service was quick and very courteous. Mechanical problems can happen with any scooter, but I was very pleased with the response we got from Apple. They came right to us - once at the front of the park and once to DTD.

I injured a foot the day before a trip to WDW and tried a rental wheelchair....for about 30 minutes in the MK. I called Apple from my cellphone on Main Street. In less than 5 minutes, we had a deal. They had the scooter waiting when we returned to the Polynesian.
The scooter was their basic 3 wheel model. I charged it each night, I weigh about 160 and it often carried me and a 75 lb kid. The battery indicator never moved off of full.
The scooter turned what would have been a miserable vacation into a great one! I would definitely recommend Apple. The valet at the Polynesian also had nice things to say about Apple.

DFH and I rented 2 ECV's from them 9/28-10/7... we had problems with both scooters:
mine kept beeping and lurching after 2 days of running smoothly- we called apple they said someone would be out to replace it. Someone called us back to tell us no more large scooters were available. if it was still happening the next day to call back. The next day it started doing the same thing... we called again and after my DFH spoke with the gentleman, someone agreed to meet us at the front of Epcot in 40 minutes. they swapped out the scooters, and I never had another problem.
DFH's started acting up the day after mine was replaced. At the end of the night it would go from full to dead in a matter of minutes while mine still had full charge. 3 nights in a row he had to push his scooter off and on buses and back to the campsite because it simply died. the 3rd night he called apple for a replacement, and he had to argue with the gentleman to come out and replace the scooter the following morning. The gentleman on the phone said it was the battery, just kept saying to plug it in. IMHO, there is no reason his should have been doing that when we have the same model scooter, charge it the same, went the same distances, and weigh the same.
Our scooters both charged for 7+hours each night and we went less than 25 miles a day.
We rented from Apple because they were $100 less than Walker, but I don't think the savings was worth the aggravation.

Honestly that could have happened with any companys ECVs... I had that lurch problem with 2 other companies.... and my very first time using one, had to push it halfway to the exit at AK cause it died on me.... neither was apple. Sounds like you had a bad battery, which could happen as much as these scooters get used.

I do have to admit that I did have one issue with Apple... They accidentally charged my card twice for my rental. I called spoke with someone, and they fixed it immediately!
On a side note to that... while I was on the phone with them, they apologized and I said it was just the way our vacation was going... that we were still in Florida even though our trip was supposed to have been over days prior. My DM was admitted to the hospital the day before we were supposed to leave. Upon hearing this, the gentleman on the phone was offering anything he could to help out... asked if I still needed the scooter, and when I told him no that was only for the parks... he offered a case of root beer!!! or anything else he could do to help out... I turned him down, but it was nice of him to offer!

Sorry to hear that happened to you. We have rented from Apple twice and the first time I had a small scooter that lurched and I called and it was replaced the next day. My DH rented one last year and had no problem at all with his, in fact, they upgraded him to a larger model (no charge) and he loved it.
We are going back at the end of next week and again rented one from Apple I will post after we come home what his experience was.

I spoke with Alex and he was very helpful in explaining 3 wheels vs. 4. I went with 3 since I am now in a walking boot (broke ankle) and will be getting in and out of the scooter frequently with my 3 girls. :) Also very accomodating re: drop off and pick up times.
The rate for the week was fantastic- lower than the web price and much lower than the company my resort suggested.
I hope all goes smoothly :wizard::wizard: once we get it- I will update after the trip!

I'll be traveling in 11 days  with DM. We're also renting an EVC from Apple and I called yesterday and spoke with Alex. I'm waiting on an email to confirm our reservation but he was very friendly and helpful for a first time EVC rent. Due to DM's weight he offered to put in a bigger battery at no extra cost to make sure the scooter kept going for an entire day. He said they do that for all of their pooh sized clients. He seems really nice and super helpful. I'll update as well in a few weeks when we get back.

We have rented ECV's from Apple scooter for many trips to WDW. We usually go 2 to 4 times each year, staying on property. We usually rent at least 2 scooters and have at times rented a total of 5 scooters when we have had older family with physical disabilities staying with us.
Our most recent trip 9/29/11 to 10/4/11, staying at OKW, we reserved 5 scooters.
We have always been very happy with Apple. Their scooters are always in like new condition and we've never had any use issues or problems. They always are delivered on time (in fact this last trip, I was called while still at my home airport to tell me the scooters were delivered to OKW). Delivery is free as is insurance. Alex and staff are always courtious, very customer oriented and give very good rates below many of the other rental companies. I have rented from just about all of them in the past. We have requested a canopy by phone and it was delivered within a half hour. We have also once, called and ordered another scooter after we arrived, and it was delivered within a half hour. It is nice that their warehouse and showroom is located in the Crossroads center at the end of hotel blvd near DTD.
Alex and crew at Apple Scooter have always come thru for our group and I would highly recommend anyone giving them a try on your next WDW vacation.......VIC

We have rented ECV's from Apple scooter for many trips to WDW and other Orlando area parks. We usually go about once a month for the day. Sometimes we stay over night. We usually rent 1-2 scooters each time. Delivery is free as is insurance. Alex and staff are always courtious, very customer oriented and give very good rates. The number is 321-SCOOTER.
We have always been very happy with Apple. The scooters are in great condition and we have not had any issues or problems. They always are delivered on time. In fact last month I called the day of the rental to change the resort from the GF to PR, because the monorail was not going t be running when MNSSHP was over. There was not problem. In fact, last weekend I called last minute (about 1.5 hours ahead) and Alex was able to help me out. I was really surprised since I called so late and would have understood if he had not been able to get me a scooter.
Alex and crew at Apple Scooter have always come thru for us and I would highly recommend anyone giving them a try on your next WDW or Orlando park visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a local resident who needed a scooter rental for a relative coming in to town. I researched all the competition and decided to book with Apple.
I live near the airport and not disney and I was happy that I could pick a hotel from their website to which the scooter would be delivered.
The website indicated that the rate was all inclusive. And I immediately got a confirmation from booking on the web.
Today we called and spoke with Alex about changing the payment method on the scooter. When we received a confirmation email supporting the change- the rate increased by $20. The confirmation did not tell us that nor did Alex tell us that when we called to make our change. I just noticed it on the new confirmation. Upon calling and talking with Alex- he admitted that he himself manually increased the rate by adding a $20 delivery fee. He said that the aiport was far and that he was charging that to offset his "personnel" costs to deliver the scooter.
But, the problem is that their website gives 5 different airport hotels to choose from. When you go thru the booking process to have the scooter delivered - you are able to choose both on airport and off airport hotel's. We asked Alex to direct us on the website where it spells out the $20 fee to deliver to the airport and he admitted that it does not say that.
In fact - he could not provide us anything in writing to support where this fee come's in. Everthing actually supports the opposite - as it says the rate is inclusive and no hidden fee's. When I pointed that out to Alex- rather than apologize for their error on their own website - his answer was to say that this is the fee. He did not seem that broken up to lose our business until I told him that I would make sure that people considering his business who are not local - will know that his standard business practice is to manually adjust confirmed rate's without notice.
I had no choice but to cancelthe booking. Alex told me that he was a manager after I asked to talk to one. Unfortunately If this is how they do business- then I must go with a more reputable business that may be a bit more money- but has more honest, reputable business practice.
In the end it was not about the $20 additional. It was about a manual price adjustment done by this Alex- without evening explaining it to the customer.
If this is their standard business practice- renting from them seems like it could be a headache.

What I find interesting about this post is the users name and that the only two posts ever done are exactly the same and is a supposed negative report. To me this is either the work of a competitor or a troll.
I do not believe this claim at all. I think this is from someone trying to cause trouble. :sad2:

I use Apple every time I come down. I have been using them for the past 5 trips due to knee injury, but I have not had any problem. They are very helpful and I get the go-go elite scooter and it is very easy to manuver on the bus and around the crowds. Very easy to park it on the bus. I would highly recommend Apple. 2 weeks planned for December and I can't wait.
