A little off topic, but can all of you out there tell me this.... Are there a lot of clowns at the Boardwalk:confused: ?? DH is freaked out by clowns and is refusing to even consider it becasue of that possiblity - Do tell!! popcorn:: Inquiring minds want to know!! popcorn:: Dh is mortified to see me posting this.... :laughing:

WOW, Great Pics!! Are those fireworks from EPCOT or MK? I didn't realize you could see fireworks from the Boardwalk!!

The fireworks are from "Illuminations". World Showcase is right behind Boardwalk and it is easy to see the higher fireworks. The view from some of the 4th and 5th floor rooms is really good.

Thanks Bob...sorry I get a quicker fix than you. ;) I may be there in September too - so maybe we'll bump into eachother (probably both so busy looking in the viewfinders that we don't notice where we're going). I haven't booked September yet, as I'm trying to coordinate with my annual cruise sometime around Sep-Nov. Once I know when the cruise is, I'll figure out when I can squeeze in Dis again. I'll be there again for sure in December, but I'm booked at Saratoga.

OfTheSeas photos are from the Inn side, and my (zackiedawg) photos are from the Villas side. The lobby and boardwalk ones are obviously from both, since they share that common space!

Had to settle for SSR after our DCL December 2009! Even though it's OK staying at other resorts for the experience. BWI IKC is where our heart is!

Does anyone have or know of a place where I can see pictures of the 2 Bedroom Villas at the Boardwalk? My family and I are going in March and we have stayed at the Boardwalk in the one bedroom villas but there are more people coming this time so I wanted to compare the differences. Thanks so much! :santa:

We are going to be staying in a 2-bedroom villa in November/December 2010 and I haven't been able to find a pic other than the one on Allearsnet.com. It's essentially a one-bedroom with a door connecting to a studio, I believe (correct me someone if I'm wrong). I just changed my ressie this morning to BW Garden Suite (2 rooms) I am SUPER excited and scared that this will make me NEED that room again in Dec

I think my 2 girls (6&7) will adore the little cottage :cloud9: ... it is dd 7's bday while we are there.

we just returned last week from a stay in a 2-bedroom BW view. OMG - I am never staying in a "regular" hotel room again!! I took way more pictures of the Boardwalk itself than the room, mostly because the light was so different in the morning from the evening, and on one day, we had those big, ominous clouds that always look cool!

Our first morning, we woke up to an absolutely downpour. I was afraid we'd be stuck in the room all day. But within an hour, this is what the BW looked like

Very nice pics, Lizzie! Looks like we were there at overlapping times - I was in a 1-bdrm villa at the quiet pool from 1/28-2/1. I didn't take too many Boardwalk pics this time myself...too busy shooting the parks and other places to fill in what I don't have! Nice to see fresh eyes shooting Boardwalk - and I've never gone over to the Inn side as you did - I think I should now based on your shots over there.

We are going to be staying in a 2-bedroom villa in November/December 2010 and I haven't been able to find a pic other than the one on Allearsnet.com. It's essentially a one-bedroom with a door connecting to a studio, I believe (correct me someone if I'm wrong). I just booked a trip for BWV in August and I'm so excited!!

I'll never forget when my parents and I went to the BoardWalk for a "preview" if you will; it was in the mid-90's before BWV officially opened and they let DVC members have a walk-through. They had cookies and I overindulged; I had never been so sick at WDW before. :rotfl:

Oh well, it didn't prevent me from wanting to stay there.:rolleyes:

Thanks, RobinHoodGirl for your pics! I am getting so excited for our trip now that I've seen all the boardwalk view pics.

I have a question for everyone - does anyone know what type of rooms are on the third floor right above Thimble & Threads? We had room 3041 last Dec 2008 and our balconies were so small and when we looked to our left over at these rooms, their balconies were huge! I borrowed a pic someone posted on here that gives an idea of what I'm talking about (hope that was okay, OP!)

There can never be too many of the BW. :goodvibes I stayed there for my 30th b-day during Christmas 2008. I saved up for that trip - expecting it to be a once in a lifetime trip. I was content with staying at POFQ until the day I stepped foot inside the BWI for my first time. I fell in love. I went back to Disney Jan 2010 for the marathon. It wasn't the same. I'm running the 2011 Disney marathon and it will be the BWI for me. I absolutely love that resort.

I love the BWV's but not too crazy about the clown pool - it scares me :scared1: :rotfl2: My oldest son has a fear of clowns and I know he won't go near this pool on our next visit but being the ornery mom that I am, I'm tempted to trick him when we arrive and tell him we didn't get Boardwalk view (which we reserved) and had to put him & his gf overlooking the pool. I know....bad mommy!! I won't do it but sure am tempted ;)

Does anybody have pics of boardwalk views from the new renovated rooms? We have a 2-bedroom reserved plus 2 studios and I've seen some on here before but can't find them.

Unfortunately, they also really make me wish we would've done the BW view, but had we done that, we wouldn't have had enough points to stay 10 days (as it is, we already had to do the last 3 at OKW!). BUT - We'll be staying at BWI for the first time in two weeks and for sure we'll be posting some pics. Not sure if they will sway your decision....

Boardwalk is one of our home resorts and we love it there! It just has such a great atmosphere, it's lovely to stroll over to the Yacht and Beach for ice cream and there are so many restaurants and things to do on your doorstep!

We tried Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani) for the first time last year and have to say that we wouldnt' return. In comparrison to the Boardwalk we found it too remote and dark. However, that is why DVC is so great, there really is something for everyone!!!! Enjoy!!!

I can't wait for our stay (11/28-12/3/10) - we have a 2-bedroom boardwalk view at BWV by renting points. My dilemma is we need another room (studio) and can't get the BWV or BC by renting points (we could waitlist but are afraid we would not get it and have to stay at SSR or OKW. I know - we're spoiled by the Boardwalk!). My DD & GS will need a room so I was thinking of using a PIN to save 40% & just have her stay at BWI, or BWV or Beachclub so she would be close to the rest of our family. She wants me to make the ressie and trusts my judgment. I was going to book BC because I thought my grandson would enjoy the pool more but after seeing the BWI room, it is so beautiful, I'm leaning towards BWI now. Plus if we all want to hang out at the pool together, she wouldn't be able to if she stay at BC. Any thoughts anyone?

I would book based on where you would enjoy the theme and ambiance that time of year. It could be cool, and you wouldn't even spend time at the pool. I would rather be close to my family. We had two rooms at SSR last may (2 bedroom and studio.) Whenever we were at the resort, we mostly spent time hanging out in the main area of the 2 bedroom. Thanks! You brought up a very good point in that it may not even be warm enough to go to the pool. Even though it was in the lower 80's when we were there in Dec 2008, the first couple days were only in the upper 50's. Plus keeping her closer to us by staying in the same resort will save the long walk over to BC esp at night. You've definitely helped in the decision making process!

This room is from the Boardwalk Inn side so the room and view won't be the same as the Boardwalk villa you have reserved. Do you know what view you requested? If it is a boardwalk view, the noise shouldn't be too bad if you request a high floor (definitely stay away from the rooms down by Jellyrolls if possible).

These are pictures from the Inn side, not the villas. We stayed in room #3213. It is a Boardwalk view right above the arcade next to the ESPN Club. The other side is the Villa side. The one with the blue "Crest O Wave" part and the shops. I think the villas have been redone recently, also.

Hey everyone. I just rented points and will be staying at the BWV Studio Room in March. We stayed here 3 years ago and had a Boardwalk View and loved it. We were not able to get a Boardwalk View this time as they did not have all the nights available during our stay, so we have a Pool/Garden View. Not familiar with the Garden View - will the Pool View be of the Clown Pool or one of the other pools?

Also, if you get a 1st Floor Room can you walk outside and be able to lock the door or not. Thought it might be nice to just walk out to the pool but want the door to be locked. But, then again the balconies and higher floors are nice too. Anyone have any suggestion? I know it will be the luck of the draw anyway when we get there but if we have a choice I want to make the best decision. Thanks.

We have had a garden/pool view twice. In 1997, our pool view overlooked the quiet pool and you could see the canal and ToT from the balcony. We loved these views - it was easy to walk down the stairs to the pool (don't forget your room key as we made the mistake of doing). We haven't stayed on a ground floor before - I always request a higher floor.

In Feb 2008 we had a view of the Greens which is gardenview above Wyland Gallery. It was awesome! We still could see the lake and watch people coming and going! If we wanted to go to the pool, we just had to take the stairs to the Luna Park pool (we didn't venture out to the pool that trip). A CM I spoke to said it could also mean a pool view, but aren't pool view rooms at BWI considered "standard" view rooms? Especially since the only pool on the Inn side is the quiet pool. Isn't the Luna Pool by the BWVs? I really don't want to end up with a pool view room since I am paying extra expecting to see the Boardwalk. ;)

I have BWI reservations for this Jan and again, I had them make a note that I want a boardwalk view. For the extra $$, it should be a boardwalk view - but you never know.

CLlady - love your BW pics! We had a similar view on the 3rd floor back in Feb 2008 above Wyland Gallery but the trees obstructed our view mostly of the lake.

I LOVE these pics of the Boardwalk! I have never stayed in an EPCOT area resort and it is nice to live that experience through everyone else's photos.

For those who stayed in the deluxe club rooms- are they they rooms with 6 balconies on one level and 6 balconies on another level. I am looking at the second picture that Clearskies posted. I guess that is the main building with the club level. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks !

We were in a deluxe club room. I quoted one of Clearskies's pictures to show you where we were. If you look at the picture, we were in the section above Seashore Sweets. We were the top row of balconies, the furthest one on the left (there's someone on the balcony.) Directly to the left of us (not the little section above Kouzzina, but the next big section) was the presidential suite (can't remember the name! grr!) We got a private tour while we were there :thumbsup2 Then the lounge is a little further down the hall and on the back side of the hallway.
