So I just can't take it anymore...I must begin my "pre trip report". We leave in exactly ...:::::::drumroll please:::::::::::
http://www.********************/timers/tickers/uxv6gj8lmqh0ydq7.png (http://www.********************/timers/)
Trip Dates 3/1-3/7
This is our third trip in the past three years. The difference this year...it's JUST the 3 of us. Well us and thousands of others and a few dozen Dis Diva's!
The Cast: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/DISNEYLAND/th_IMG_6930.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/DISNEYLAND/?action=view¤t=IMG_6930.jpg)
Me, The mommywithdreams aka as Janelle. I LOVED Disneyland as a kid...but three years ago when I took my then 3 year old son to Disneyland for the first time I had a whole new appreciation for Disneyland. It was a trip I never knew we'd get...and here we are doing it again for the third time.
Chris, my DBF over 2 1/2 years. He loves Disneyland as much as I do. BUT did dissapoint me when he said "Maybe we should do something different this year". WAS HE CRAZY? He lost that one obviously ..but he sends me random text messages during the day talking about pirates and mickey ice cream bars. He must be excited too
Ayden, my 5 year old son and my best friend. He LOVES Minnie Mouse, Buzz and anything Cars related. Before our first trip all he talked about was "hugging Minnie"...He was pretty apprehensive of the characters the first year. I had to be in every picture. Last year...hew as Mr. Independant and LOVED all of them. He was more adventurous with his rides last year too...and is hoping to do Indiana Jones this year too. :)
So this is the first year we're not having to arrive at the airport before the sun comes up which will be nice. Our flight leaves Sacramento around 10am. We are staying at the Park Vue Inn since the DIS girls took over HOJO's. :rotfl: That's ok...as much as I LOVE HOJO's. I'm kinda excited to try something new and be soooooooo close to the parks. We're planning on going to DL on Sunday and catching the Pixar Parade on Sunday also at CA. Last year we missed the opening of Pixar Parade by 2 weeks. Ayden will be so excited to see McQueen and Mater. He's never seen them before at DL.
We're keeping a pretty open schedule this year. Not doing a character breakfast, nor are we eating at the Blue Bayou. I'm hoping to try some new things this year. Although....I might not be able to resist the Flying Dutchman...it was so yummy last year. The one PS ressie we have is for Carnation Cafe on Friday at 3ish.....we'll probably be finishing up when the Dis Diva's come take over the restaurant so I'm excited to say hello and meet some of them.
Until next time....

Where oh where should we get our tickets through? I like that Disney has the whole E-ticket feature. Last year we went through Getaway today so we had the extra Magic Morning ....but if I remember right they charged us an additional $20 for a service fee. Anyone use the E-Ticket feature through Disneyland.com?

Hi!
We used the e-ticket option from disneyland.com in 2007.
We're from Australia so that was the easiest way for us to pre-purchase tickets.
We got a barcoded print out that we took straight to the entry gates, and once they swiped the barcode they exchaged them for proper tickets.
No waiting in the ticket booth queue and it was so easy!
Can't wait to hear more - have fun!!

Thanks Maryr. I think that's what we'll be doing.
So we're in the teens!!! 19 days left and we're off to Disneyland! Last night we made PS reservations for WCT. It will be our first time eating there and I'm pretty excited.
I have my stash of LGMH's and I'm just not sure what to do with them yet. I'm a little nervous to meet the other DIS'ers....but I have no idea why.
Ayden is so excited for our trip. I'm really anxious to see if he goes through on his desire to ride Indiana Jones. I think he's just barely going to make the height requirement. I think if we get through the queue quick he just might be ok. The longer he stands around looking at skulls and such the more apt he is to change his mind. But then again...my son is the one you'll see standing in line for the matterhorn or thunder mountain...whining that he doesn't want to go. I'm the mom that looks like the mean mom making him go because I want to go. The truth of it is...he's been on both of them sooo many times I've lost count and loves it every time and doesn't want to get off the ride when it's over. ha ha

Too bad about HoJo's, but you'll love being sooooooooooo close to the entrance.
So nice that you can make your way to the airport at a decent time. That always makes a big difference for me. I'll wave bye bye to you as you fly overhead on your way to the happiest place on earth. :yay:

I think you're right about being so close...HOJO's wasn't bad at all....but knowing we'll be just that much closer makes it that much more exciting

Sooooooo now I'm even more excited!!!! I just bought a new Sony Camcorder for our upcoming trip. Ok so it's not JUST for the trip..but what great timing eh? :cool1: I had been researching them a lot lately....I was afraid of spending the cash but honestly I will certainly get my moneys worth. I am a picture taking nutcase! As you will see when we get back from Disneyland.
I wish I could figure out how to post the links to my past two trip reports....anyone know how?

Oh that's awesome about the camcorder!! I loved having ours for our honeymoon trip (of course I never got to touch it because the Hubby stole it the whole time :rotfl: ). I'm sure you will have so much fun watching all the videos later on though.
Ok, I'm not sure if there is a better way but the way I added the links to my TRs was to go to my TR and then I copied the web address and then pasted it into my siggy. I am relatively new on the boards so I'm sure somebody else will tell you a more correct (or at least) easier way to do it. Hope that helps. I would love to read your previous TRs especially if you have tons of pics...I love me some pictures!!!

So my nerves are all on edge now. Another plane crash last night killing everyone on board. I am not a big fan of flying but I'm even a worse fan of driving. :scared1: We fly to DL every time we go....I couldn't imagine spending an entire day in the car when I could have been at the park in less than 2 hours. Anyway....just get me there ok and get me home safely.

How exciting to already have the next trip planned & during the holidays....I'm so jealous!!
We'll be coming in to town on your last day...so have all those rides warmed up for us (and the weather.....)
I loved your bubble idea....we did a paper chain (a really long one) in 2005 for our son (then 3). We told him we were going in February & our trip was not until the end of June. Needless to say the chain ran down our hallway & back in thru the dining room when we started. But.... it really helped him understand when we were going.
If your son is a huge Cars fan, he'll love the Pixar Play Parade. We got to see it last March & my son (now 7) was absolutely coming unglued when he saw Lightning & Matar and the Incredibles. Its fun to listen to him on our video of the parade....
Have a magical trip!! :flower3:

Thanks DizneeLuver
I'm glad to see I still have a reader, but then again I haven't really posted much lately. About the Pixar Parade....I am soooooooooooo for my son to see it. We missed it last year by just a few weeks. We never even got to see them in the parks. :(I haven't told him about it yet...just going to be a pleasant surprise. We planned on doing the Pixar Parade on Sunday when we get there. I figured the rush to get out of CA would be worse during the week since the park closes at 6 and the parade is at 5:15. This is the first trip that we don't have a real schedule....and I'm actually liking it. Besides the parade...the only other thing we have is PS at Carnation Cafe and WCT. Everything else we're just going to play by ear.
So here's some details about our Holiday trip. Some may think I'm crazy but.....I'm not thinking about "me" in all this.
We have asked my ex husband to try to join us. Now a little I left him in January of 2006 after I found out he was cheating on me. From 2006 till now he has barely worked. Let's just say he's been unemployed longer during that time than he's actually held down a job. He's been unemployed for the last 10 months now. Supposably looking but I won't hold my breath. Anyway.....he does do a few karaoke jobs a week so he has some income from that but as for any form a child support I get nada. Anyway.......I want Ayden to be able to experience Disneyland with his dad too. As well as I want his dad to have that same experience with Ayden. We are not paying a dime for his way....I just put some figures on paper and told him he'd have 9 months to save some money. He could book a room at HOJO's for two nights...etc etc...anyway my figures came up to a little less than 600 and that's if he chooses to fly and rates are close to what we got this time, although I did round up. Anyway.....9 months to save??? That's not bad and if he wants to go bad enough he should be able to find a way. Ok ok so maybe I am thinking of me too.........Chris and I are already thinking about a day of just the two of us in the park to do whatever we want and eat at someplace like Napa Rose. :cloud9: I've never been there but I really want to try it. Anyway....not your typical family vacation....but the bottom line is I am thinking of my son first and I know how much I enjoy the time with him there, I'm sure his dad would as well. If not...then we go and still have the amazing time we always have. Oh and this would DEFINITELY be a surprise for Ayden...he has no clue and I plan to keep it that way.
TEN DAYS TILL DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I applaud you for looking past the "ex" thing & inviting him to spend the holidays with his son at Disneyland!!! Hopefully he comes up with his part (financially) & follows thru on the plans. I think your son would really love to spend time with his dad at the parks. I wish you all the best of luck in the planning of that trip!!!
Now back to this trip...... are you like totally excited now??? Just days away!!! :cool1: Have a super magical trip & I'll look forward to reading all about it!!!! (then you'll have to read mine ;) )

Oh I didn't say I forgave him LOL. Well I guess I kinda did...I forgave him but I never forgot. This may sound crazy but I'm so thankful everything happened the way it did. It lead me to my DBF Chris. We have been together 2 1/2 years. He's the role model I always wanted my son to have. He stepped up when Ayden's dad stepped down. I love him so much...AND the best thing about it..HE LOVES DISNEYLAND TOO!!!! :)

So six more days and we'll be at DL. Why am I feeling sad already? Sad that it's just that much closer to being over. I have a feeling this week at work is just going to drag by, today did at least. Saturday I have volunteered to work the crab feed at my sons school. I committed to that before I committed to Disneyland so there was no backing out. I have to be there at 10 am to set up, home around 2 then back at 4. That leaves poor Chris to do most of the laundry and packing. :laundy: I feel bad but he seems to be ok with it. I'm also going to miss Ayden's last day at Football camp. :sad1: I guess it's a good trade.....I miss football but I get 6 days with him in Disneyland.
I keep checking the weather and see rain for a day maybe two. I'm hoping that changes....no two weather sites say the same thing so I'm hoping the one with no rain wins!

So there is something I'm dreading about this trip.....the flight. :scared:
We fly every year and every year I get anxious about the flight. Granted it's only a little over an hour for us, but I still get very nervous. Panic attack like. It's not fun. Of course I play it cool for my son, he's excited to fly again. Me....I know of the accidents, and lately there have just been one too many. :(
5 days to go and I'm already worrying myself like crazy over this. It's just a control thing......once that plane accelerates..I have no control. :rolleyes1

Hi!
I'm new to this discussion board, and live in Fair Oaks as well! It is nice to see other Disney fans live around here - sometimes I think I'm the only adult in the neighborhood who would drop everything to spend a few days in Fantasyland!
I'll be going to DL sometime this spring with a friend (first trip with no children), and again in September for a homeschooling conference.
I hope you have a fantastic trip, and look forward to reading your trip report!

So this morning I woke up an hour before my alarm goes off. Guess I was too excited to sleep. I heard my son Ayden stirring in his room. I heard his door squeak open. Then he quietly walks down the hall. I pretend to still be asleep, I mean it's still dark outside!!!!!!!! DBF Chris moves and then I hear the rush of pitter pattering little feet running back down the hall. LOL Just made me laugh. So I guess he was too tired to sleep too.
So my dad picks us up in a little over an hour for the airport. I hope you all have a great week and I'll be back saturday with TONS OF PICTURES!!!!!

Honey....I'm home!!!!!!!!
We made it back last night and had an amazing time!!! I came back with hundreds of pictures so sit back and enjoy a photographic trip report. Overall the trip was perfect....except a day of rain but that wasn't bad. I got to meet some Diva's, experience some true DL magic and...the best news of all, we became AP holders!!!!!!!!!!
So Sunday March 1st when we were to leave it was POURING down rain here. I am not big on flying as it is so I was dreading the flight in the rain. Needless to say it was a pretty bumpy flight in the beginning. Even Ayden, my son looked at me and said "that didn't happen last time"..he meant the bumps with the turbulence. One very cool treat...he got to sit in the pilots seat!!!!

Anyway, we made it safe and sound and were very anxious to get to our Hotel. We got our luggage, walked out to the curb and within 1 minute Disneyland Express drove up. The drive......scary. I really thought the driver was dosing at the wheel. :scared1: Guess it was just our first knuckle clenching ride for the trip! Once we arrived at Park Vue Inn, we checked in but unfortunately our room wasn't ready yet. Not a big deal, they held our luggage. My DBF Chris was got a taxi to Garden Grove Costco to get our AP's with the $50 gift card while Ayden and I got lunch at Denny's. We didn't know this until afterwards but you get a 10% discount if you show your room key at Denny's. Just a hint! Chris was back pretty quick and the cab ride with tip was close to $40. We were VERY eager to get into the park. We were expecting HUGE lines at the ticket booth since it was Saturday afternoon but really only waited in line for less than 3 minutes. The bank took a little longer, but maybe only 10 minutes tops. But can you see the excitement...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0560.jpg
The first character to greet us was ............... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0437.jpg
We went right over to CA since we wanted to catch the Pixar Parade....Ayden LOVES McQueen and Mater and I didn't tell him they were going to drive right past him in the parade...he LOVED it. Here's some pics of us waiting for the parade. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0446.jpg

We went back to check into our Hotel. We were in room 206, right by the breakfast room. We had a room with a bunkbed...Ayden loved that too. I was pretty happy with the room, I mean you certainly can't beat the location. The room was clean, beds were comfy, and the breakfast was perfect! Much more than your regular continental breakfast. Waffles, 3 types of cereal, toast, fresh fruit, apple juice, orange juice, oatmeal, donuts, crossiants, yogurts. It got old after a few days but honestly saved us LOTS of money and time so it was very worth it for us!

Since Matterhorn was scheduled to be closed during the week, we made sure to ride it on Sunday night. As I've said before in my posts, DS loves the ride, but of course is a drama queen in line whining about not wanting to ride it. Needless to say he's probably been on it at least 7 times in his life! Anyway, he didn't let me down this time either. Oh the look of fear after we got on! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0466.jpg
But once again, after we were done he begged to do it again, so this time he was all smiles. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0469.jpg

So day one we wanted to close the park since it was open until midnight but we just didn't make it. We made it to a little past 10 but I wanted to make sure we didn't get so run down that we regretted it the rest of the week. We ate dinner at Rancho Del Zocalo, one of my favorite places. DBF and I split the enchilada platter and I got Ayden a chicken nugget meal from Stagedoor.
Day TWO:
We woke up at 7, got showered and had breakfast at the hotel. Again, VERY nice breakfast compared to others. There was someone in there keeping things well stocked so we never worried that they'd run out like we did at Desert Inn two years ago.
Here are some pics of us waiting at the gate and the rope drop.

The crowd looks much worse than it was. We had very little wait time for anything until the weekend.
We went straight to Fantasyland and did everything there in about 45 minutes.

We went on BTMRR more times than I can even count. Ayden was again nervous about this ride, even though he loved it last year. After the first time though that's all he asked to ride. He would have done that all day if we let him. He just absolutely LOVED the ride!. We got some great pics and video from the ride. A few days later we were walked off the ride at the last hill. More on that later...i got some fun pics from that as well. In the meantime...here are some of us from the ride.

We came back to the room to find a wine/fruit gift basket. Unfortunately we never opened the wine. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0509.jpg

Do you happen to remember what time the breakfast at your hotel opened each morning?
Also, since you had APs, were you able to do the early MM, or just go at the regular park openings?

On the dates we were there it opened at 7. With our AP's we didn't get MM's. That was the only drawback. Honestly though....we didn't really miss it, the park was so dead in the morning anyway. It was hard though standing behind the gate seeing the MM people inside already. I was so surprised to see those people standing in front of the big Mickey head taking pictures and talking for almost their whole hour of MM. Folks...GO RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that is very cool. Your DS is lucky. I didn't get to do that when I was little! :lmao:
Geez, Cruella looks positively evil in that picture. :scared1:

Not sure if you knew this or not but the World Of Disney store sells a bunch of those posters. I would love to do my office in them but they are certainly not cheap. Would be a fun collection to have.

For lunch on day two we had the breadbowls. I had the clam chowder, Chris had something "steak"?? Anyway he said his was super spicy. Mine was really good but within a few minutes of eating it I got horrible indegestion. TMI I know but I had so much pain everytime I'd belch....which I felt like I was doing non stop.........this lasted THREE days!!! It was miserable. I didn't have much of an appetite after that which was really upsetting to me since I LOVE to eat at DL. It was so bad one morning that it woke me up and I was calling an advice nurse....at the time I wasn't sure it was 100% indegestion or not. Anyway....it finally went away. Whewww!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0504-1.jpg
We walked over to CA for the first time. We were really excited to ride Toy Story. We all loved it. I was really nervous that the quick spinning was going to make me sick but it wasn't bad at all. It was so much fun and the queue seemed to move constantly so it wasn't that bad of a wait.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0515.jpg
I didn't tell Ayden about McQueen and Mater being there....can you believe we've never seen them out before? Anyway I wish I had gotten a picture of his face when he first saw them. They were like the size of lemons! He LOVES CARS!!!!!!!!!

I am not a huge fan of CA....I just dont' like the layout. Everything is a huge hike ...I like how DL has shortcuts to every land. The construction is flat out ugly....but knowing it will bring bigger and better things I'm welcome with the change. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0513.jpg
For dinner that night we had Pizza Port. We split the Chicken Fusilli and a caesar salad. LOVE them both. I munched more on the salad since I was feelin crappy still.

Since the park closed at 8 that night we beat the crowds and left a little earlier and went to the Rainforest Cafe for dessert only. We LOVE the bananna Foster...mmm mmmmm. Ayden got his own mini sundae and ate some of our banannas.

We walked into the lego store and Ayden was in heaven. He is really into legos right now, especially lego "guys". They had a little table set up where you could build your own guy for 1.99. I let him make a few. An employee even gave him one to keep for free :) I bought him a set to make a spaceship that came with a darth vader guy and 3 storm troopers. He was one happy little boy after that little trip to the lego store.

It was so quiet when we were walking back to the hotel. I took advantage of that time to take a few rare pics of the main gate of DL. A CM saw me trying to take a picture of the Mickey head, she came over and offered to take my camera to get some closer. I was very thankful for that, but she had the flash on so they came out really dark. Here are a few we took.

Oh my goodness I almost forgot....Ayden rode Indy for the first time ever today! He asked if he could ride it weeks before we even left. I said a-ok as long as he was tall enough. It REALLY surprised me that he wanted to try it. We got a FP so we didn't have to stand in a line that I thought might make him change his mind...skulls and such. We got to sit in the front row. He was silent the whole time and stiff as a board. I'm that mom that keeps a hold tight on her kid on the rides. :confused3 Anyway....afterwards he said it wasn't good. I asked him if he wanted to ride it again...he said Ummm maybe tomorrow. Well let's just say that was his answer the rest of the week...he did it once and once only. I was proud that he tried it. I don't like all the jerking that ride does. Once was enough for Chris and I too. The ride is so great...but I don't need my back thrown out to get the jeep effect. They could tone it down a bit and it would still be a great ride.
Next ...day three!!! Jedi Training, lunch at Wine Country Trattoria, more CA, and toontown! Busy day! :woohoo:

So morning of day 3 was the same as day 2. Up and showered and off to breakfast at the hotel. It really surprised me when we were FIRST in line at the gates. It was a MM so most people were getting in lines at the MM gates....guess we just knew better. That meant we were also right at the rope for opening! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0563.jpg
We figured this would be a good day to get Autopia out of the way. I absolutely DESPISE that line. Love the ride, my son loves it...but that line is rediculous. Even if it says 30 minute wait..you can almost guarantee it's at least 50. So at rope drop we headed straight there.............but so did a lot of the MM people too. They hadn't opened the line yet so it stretched all the way back to Nemo I thought to myself well it can't be that bad.. .once they open the line up it will move really quick........wrong!! We got stuck in the tunnel with the cartoons for probably 20 minutes. So many people were leaving from the line. We stood in line for 45 minutes before we finally got on the ride. Next time.....we go straight there NOT on a MM. Chris got some fun pics though from that. Oh and I forgot to mention I was taking pics on my cell phone most of the trip and uploading them to my facebook........guess that was taking my friends on a trip to Disney with us
Oh and kept Callie (Dangermouse) entertained until she arrived on the Diva trip :)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0564.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0567.jpg
We rushed over to Jedi Training to see if we could get a good seat for the first show. We got lucky....we got great seats. Glad I had packed Ayden Star Wars shirt in the backpack for just in case. We took the advice and made him a sign. We just had it folded in the backpack until it was time for the instructor to start choosing. I printed out in bold black letters "The Force Is Strong With This One" with an arrow pointing down at Ayden. He was jumping up and down and was picked with the instructor commenting on his nice homemade sign! I was soooooooooooo excited that he got picked. He was pretty excited too. The day before we watched a piece of the show and darth maul got right up in this face. I thought it was over at that point.....he was a pretty scary dude up close so I'm surprised Ayden wanted to do it after that experience. He luckily got to fight Darth Vader up on the stage. Here are some pics from that. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0569.jpg

That day we had our PS for Wine Country Trattoria. It was our first time there. We sat outside...it was really nice. I had the caprese sandwich, Chris had the chicken panini. Ayden had the grilled cheese. I was pretty impressed when Chris asked for no peppers and they asked if it was due to an allergy or just preference. They really are accomodating at Disney :goodvibes I wasn't all that happy with my sandwich. Chris and I shared and I really liked his much better than mine. Mine just didnt' seem to have much flavor to it. The bread was ok ....kinda hard but not too bad. The service was wonderful! We were too full for dessert so we skipped that :(

Let's try this again.............
After lunch at WCT, DBF did the single rider line for Screamin...he was done within just minutes it seemed like. I rode Screamin the very first trip and LOVED it...but I haven't done it our past two trips due to some health issues I have now. It just makes me nervous is all. We all had to do TS again. We LOVE that ride, it's so much fun. Chris rode the Mailboomer for the first time...I thought he was crazy but he's just a daredevil and will ride anything!
We walked back over to DL and got some pics in front of the California letters. Figured we better do that before they take them out. We ran into Woody and Jessie, totally funny characters to watch. Jessie tried using my sons pen as a slingshot towards Woody. Very cute :lovestruc
We figured now is the time to get some character pics since it felt like the first few days we barely saw any. AND the photopass photographers seemed few and far between this time as well. I think that could be a cut Disney has made
Also got a peek at a CM making tigger tails and took some snack porn pics for you all to drool over.

Ok so on with the report....I think I had my days confused so now we're onto the next day.
We decided to do the rope drop at CA for a change. It started sprinkling on us the night before so we did get Ayden a poncho. We already had some but they were in the hotel. Anyway...while in line at CA...it started coming down pretty good, not bad, but enough that we put on our ponchos. Guess I didn't get pictures of our fashionable attire. Rope drop was nothing like DL. There were really maybe 20 people there with us. We went straight to Toy Story Mania and rode it two times in a row within minutes. It was great! I so love that ride! We walked around the boardwalk and DBF did Mailboomer :scared1: That ride just looks sickening! DBF took Ayden on the jumpin jellyfish too. We made our way over to see Turtle Talk with Crush, seemed a lot shorter than it was last year. This was our first time doing the Animation Academy and it was really a lot of fun. I was so excited when I found out we were going to learn how to draw GOOOOOFY!!!! I was really impressed with Ayden's. I thought he did a great job! So another tip I got from the DIS board....we were able to keep the CM's original drawing too. He signed it and handed it over to Ayden!
here is mine

Now I'm remembering more about the night before so forgive me for jumping back. We decided to eat light because we had PS for Blue Bayou at 6:30 for dessert. We had bengal barbecue for the first time ever. It was "ok". Honestly...I was kinda disapointed. I love the smell everytime we walk by and always just forget about it when it's time to eat. Chris and I both got the bacon wrapped asparagus and I got Ayden the Chicken one. The chicken was SO much better than the bacon one. I like my bacon CRISPy and this just reminded me of raw limp bacon wrapped around the asparagus stocks...which had NO flavor at all. I was just not impressed. We got the Tiger tails and they were ok...nothing great that's for sure. We waited an extra 20 minutes to sit waterside for dessert. Not bad considering we checked in 15 minutes early anyway. No problem with getting the dessert only. The waiter did ask again so no drinks coffee?? he still brought the bread though :) The flying dutchman was wonderful...as it always is.
This was taken with my cell phone...

Weird that some of my pictures aren't coming up.....I can see them all. I've had that happen in the past though and suddenly they appear. Seems to happen on TR a lot for some reason.

For lunch on day two we had the breadbowls. I had the clam chowder, Chris had something "steak"?? Anyway he said his was super spicy. Mine was really good but within a few minutes of eating it I got horrible indegestion. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/Nelliez/Disneyland%202009/IMG_0504-1.jpg
For dinner that night we had Pizza Port. We split the Chicken Fusilli and a caesar salad. LOVE them both. I munched more on the salad since I was feelin crappy still.

Busy day! :woohoo:
OKay, I was on the Diva trip, and had the baked potato soup and sort of had the same experience. Made me feel really sick. Think it was just the rich cream.
My 6 year old rode Indy for the first time this year too. He loved it though and we rode it many times. You have to stay loose and go with the flow or else you do end up in pain. It is hard to do.
We loved the chicken Fusilla and ceasar at Pizza Port. We ate there twice, and also shared the meal. I do love the asparagus at Bengal BBQ as well as the spicy beef one. The chicken is okay. The Asparagus can be bad if it is not cooked enough. Also, I think it absolutely needs the limes squeezed on them.

Janelle,
I'm loving your trip report and pictures!!!! Good job! :) Can't wait to read the rest of it.
Last time we went in 2006, my DS (7 at the time) was finally tall enough to ride Indy. His eyes were HUGE and he was real quiet during the ride. When we got off, he gave his dad a slug in the arm and said "Why did you make me go on that!!!". The feeling didn't last long though.......it ended up being one of his favs on that trip! Maybe when Ayden is a bit older, he'll appreciate it more too.
I'm leaving in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't even started packing. I've put a few things aside to remember to take but not started setting out the clothes. Oh, I did vacuum the van out today......I wanted a nice clean start for our trip!
Keep your posts coming........I love reading them!

Yes it did make you feel ooky, didn't it?
Sounds like you guys had a good time! How is Ayden? I remember you having some wonderings about him during your last trip report time...he looks a whole lot more relaxed, that's for sure. How old is he? Only 5? Or 6? He's so tall! (obviously, since he's getting on Indy now) Eamon says he's now eating to "get big for Indy", and he's only 3 inches away...I don't think he'd like the ride at all, but he thinks he will... crazy boys. :)

Ayden is doing pretty good, thanks for asking. We did go through a really rough time last year. After a lot consults with is Dr, teachers etc....his Dr did diagnose him as having Opposition Defiancy Disorder (O.D.D.) It has been EXTREMELY challenging...BUT I will say this, I'm thankful to have a "name" to it because I feel like I have the tools now to deal with it. Before I felt like I was just standing there with this duh look on my face thinking what the heck is wrong with my child? We still have our challenges....but we have made far strides that's for sure. He has had an amazing year academically at school so that's gotta make a momma proud! He turned 5 on Halloween and yes he's VERY tall. His dad is 6'6" so he has big shoes to fill I guess. He just made the cut off for Indy..thank goodness. He sure would have been disapointed if he didn't get to ride it, that one time :lmao:
Has E been on Star Tours? That's another one Ayden did once and refuses to do again. Chris took him on that...I knew it would make me sick

Ayden seems to really like his trip so far. He's so cute in the pics in ToonTown!!! I love watching the kids play with all the knobs, buttons, etc there.
Hooray for the Indy thing!!! Did he like it? My 7 yr old freaked out in the queing area, but hubby made him ride it anyways. He loved it!!

The Fairy Godmother was a bit "snippy"....we were in line waiting our turn for pictures when one of those moms that "pretends to not see the line" comes right up in front of us pushing her son to the Fairy Godmother. I stepped back and said to DH, gosh I guess there wasn't a line afterall. The Fairy Godmother spoke up saying oh she was in line earlier it's quite alright now isn't it? I mean it just really surprised me that she came back with such a snippy comment. Oh well...... she needed another dosing of pixie dust! pixiedust:
Another fun DIS tip I learned about was asking to ride with the captain on the Mark Twain. We were the first ones in line for the boat and the guy loading us said to just head upstairs as it's first come first serve. What a nice treat.....I wish we had gotten pictures of the little room up there where we were told Walt spent a lot of time. The black and white pictures on the wall were pretty neat too. Ayden was a little shy....the captain asked him if he wanted to sound the whistle....Ayden just shook his head no. He asked Chris and he was very happy to do so. Chris said that pretty much just made his trip. It was a beautiful view. In all my times to DL as a kid, I don't remember riding the Mark Twain. We kinda felt like we were in a world all our own. We could hear the music but that's all............it was really fun. It was a nice ride that allowed me to just take it all in from a different view.

Guess I'm almost to the end since I'm at Thursday of my pictures. We went straight to Pixie Hollow at rope drop...still a 45 minute wait since I believe it was a MM and there was already a line formed. One of those things that we did once and probably wouldn't do it again. The line is cute...lots of little Pixie Fairies to see etc etc. We first saw Silvermist...she was friendly and did chat with Ayden about how boys pose for pictures. Tinkerbell....cute I guess, but really into herself. Not at all what I expected. The picture of me with her is horrible I couldn't even post it. It makes me look like an ogre next to her.
It was 45 minutes we could never get back LOL

I understand what you are going through. Our youngest DS6 is in the process of being diagnosed too (with something different though), and for me it will be a huge help to put a name with it and get him the help and accomodations he needs. It has been very challenging.
Love the pictures, and your son is so cute! My son was tall enough to go on alot of rides before most other kids his age too, and when he finally let sisters talk him into trying them, he loved them!

Wow, great tip about the Mark Twain river boat.:thumbsup2 That does look like an amazing, unique experience for your family. Did you have a strategy to be the first on the boat?
Also, Pixie Hollow pictures turned out too cute. My girls can't wait for this. Is Pixie Hollow open during MM or do people in the park from MM just line up early?

We asked about being in the Wheelhouse as well & were asked to come back for the next trip & we'd be allowed to do so (they already had guests that trip). I had a ball up there, blowing the horn & ringing the bell.....just like a kid!!!
We lucked out on the Pixie Hollow thing, we got there & it said 30 minutes, but we were in & out in about 20mins. Cute, but not a ton of interaction. I did like that they only sent one family at a time. Your Tinkerbell looks like a little girl...... ours looked a bit older than that.

We didn't really have a strategy. We were walking by when we saw the boat coming around the corner so we headed right over to get in line. When we went the crowds were very low so it wasn't much of an effort to head right up the stairs to ask.
Pixie Hollow isn't open during MM, that's just when the line started. It was cute...but not something I'd want to wait 45 minutes for again.

One of my favorite places to eat at in DL is Cafe Orleans. I guess I just love sitting in the heart of New Orleans Square people watching. We have always lucked out and have gotten excellent service. This time was no different...at least for the first half. Towards the end we felt forgotten about. Took her forever to come clear our plates. We wanted to order biegnets and it took forever for us to just order them. DBF had the Monte Cristo. Although I love them.....I can never finish one and I'm just as satisfied with a few heavenly bites...which he always lets me have anyway. :) I had soup and salad...I LOVE their French Onion soup and the salad is soooo yummmmy! My son had the Mack & Cheese. Here are a few pics of lunch....

So speaking of Big Thunder...guess what we rode right after lunch. The ride started out like all the others...but coming around the last turn right before going up the last hill inside the mountain the train came to a stop. A little unsettling at first but at least we weren't on the "runaway train part". After a minute or two they came on over the loud speaker saying a cast member would be by to help us out. We took that time to take some pictures of things you're usually going by too quick to get pictures of. As we were getting off the "mom" in me asked "so this will be safe to ride later right". The CM chuckled and said "yes, the train is perfectly safe". He also said this is what happens when a guest doesn't follow the rules. It causes the train to be shut down for an hour before they can open it again. So my guess is ...Some idiot either stood up, leaned out...or did something "dumb" which caused everyone to lose out. Anyway...better safe than sorry, go Disney! :thumbsup2 I took some shots on the way out....until they told us not to take any flash photography.

OMG Months??????????? Say it isn't so?????? I actually feel a little bit better today but the cough is just so painful. Everytime take a deeper breath in I cough. My ribs and chest ache every time. It's like down deep in my throat...so nothing cough drops could fix. :(

I feel soooo bad for you!! My only advice is to have a pillow with you & to hug it when coughing.....or just hug yourself..... I separated ribs from the coughing & you think coughing hurts now???? :scared1: painful!!
Just don't overdo...all I can say is rest rest rest!
Yes it takes months to get over..... you start getting better after about a month, but your body is so worn down & sore, that it takes another couple months to really be feeling like your old self.
Praying you don't get any worse & you start making a turn around quick!!!

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE these two together, I think they may be my favorite characters to meet. They are both so chatty. She asked Ayden his name, asked where he was off to next. Ayden was so shy and just didn't know what to say, he's not used to characters talking lol

So after Toontown we rushed to catch The Hillbilly show for lunch. Ayden HATED it so much. He complained the whole time about it being too loud. I loved it, laughed and laughed and laughed. At one point there was a woman in the back just yelling for Billy...screeching I love you Billy! I told Chris Hmmmmm that could be a Disney Diva! Well as we were leaving the show we ran into some Diva's!!! I am so glad Callie recognized me. I had been looking for LMGH's all week! It wasn't until after I met these ladies that I started noticing them all over. It was sooooooooooo nice to meet you girls!

Drumroll please..............
here is our last and final day, then I will post the photopass pics!!!
The last day is always the hardest. Especially since we had to leave in the early afternoon to catch a 5:50 flight.
We were up super early since we wanted to beat the crowds as much as possible since it was a Saturday. We try to purposely plan our trips to avoid the weekends crowds. I was really surprised that the park seemed pretty empty the first two hours. We did BTMRR 5 times in a row first thing and just walked on each time. I was hoping to get it out of Ayden's system since that's all the kid wanted to ride every day all day. :rotfl:
The Matterhorn was open sunday but closed during the week and open again on Saturday. Here are some pictures while waiting in line.

So to finish things up...we were already checked out of the Park Vue and they stored our luggage. The Disney Express was 20 minutes late to pick us up...THEN had to take us to the Disneyland Hotel where we had to transfer to another bus. We were really starting to sweat bullets that we were going to be late to the airport. ESPECIALLY when we got on the freeway and the carpool lane was backed up...we should have just stayed in the regular lanes!
We made it in time and had a really good flight home. Take off was right at sunset and it was beautiful. By the time we were flying over San Francisco it was really dark and it was beautiful!!!! Ayden loved seeing all the lights.
I'll be back with our photopass pictures!!!

I got Anthony that same shirt Ayden is wearing!!!! Thought it was so cute!!!
Ayden & I would get along great!!! We both love BTMRR....I'm with him, I could ride it all day long!!
I'm guessing your favorite meal was from the Rancho del Zocalo? We looked forward to eating there last year & it was by far the worst meal we've ever had there....... we're seeing a pretty even split on liking it or hating it.....lol We've gotten pretty spoiled to a fabulous mexican restaurant here in town & Mike is a wonderful cook that makes some mexican dinners to die for!!
Sounds like a magical trip & you got some great pictures!!! Thanx for sharing them. Looking forward to the PhotoPass pics!!!!

I thought Rancho Del Zocalo was soooooo much better this year than it was last year. I think we got lucky. It was just so quick, easy, good on cost and it was pretty yummy. I know what you mean though....once you find a good Mexican restaurant, nothing else can even compare lol
Since I stayed home today from work I'm going to work on getting my photopass pictures up...then my TR will officially be done!

So my thoughts on Photpass this trip..........there certainly were not many photographers out. In fact I made a comment about there not being many and the photographer tried telling me where they all were located at. I know where they were at...but I also knew where they were NOT at as well. I'm happy with our pictures.....I was in charge of a photopass share group and we ended up with 3 cds and over 1000 pictures!

We had the same problem with finding the PhotoPass Photographers both times we were there in March/April!!! They used to be everywhere & this time we only got about 80 pics & that was over 6 days!! They weren't always at the "normal" spots either. We entered the park a couple times in the morning & no photo at the entry, we walked past the Partner's Statue a number of times & no photographer.....kind of a drag when we knew we'd be getting the CD.
I think the one of you kissing Goofy.......is ADORABLE!!!! :upsidedow

Just stumbled across your TR and think its SO GREAT! Love all the pictures and comments and reviews. We're mostly going on weekends with our APs this year, so when you mentioned that the park was pretty empty the first couple hours on the Saturday you were there, I was all SMILES! Woohoo! I see some hope for our Saturday.
That stinks about the photopass photographers. I feel like the last time we went to DLR (May 2007) we spent a lot of time trying to find them. But at that point, the system was relatively new, so maybe Disney was still trying to get the hang of the best way to do it. It stinks when you're dressed all cute and the sunlight is just right and then you have to "search" for someone! In WDW last time, June 2008, I felt like they were around every turn, though. Maybe it depends on the time of year?

Hi DisneySuiteFreak!!!! No it's NOTHING like the teacups at all. I can't do those either. I guess spin is the wrong word to use for TSM. I was really nervous I was going to miss out on riding it because I heard people saying that it would spin around. It's not a tight spin at all so it doesn't make you dizzy, at least it didn't for me and I get dizzy if I spin in a circle just once. You can see the ride start and see the type of spin I'm referring to. It doesn't get any worse than that during the ride. It's really a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed reading/looking at your trip report! What a fun sounding trip! Your son is adorable, and you got some really good interesting shots...I am debating between us staying at the Park Vue or BW Park Place Inn...we're booked at the BWPPI right now. Looking forward to your next TR! ;)
