ok so if we arrive on Sunday afternoon, will our DDP count for that day? Do we just bank those breakfast, lunch and snack credit for that day and use them at a later time? Can you use it at Downtown Disney? B/c we will not have tickets for the park the day we arrive and the plan was to eat dinner in DTD. Also, we are staying at a family suite at the All Star Music, my inlaws really do not want the meal plan but i am really thinking its the better option, does everyone in the room have to be on the meal plan? I think i read that somewhere.
Thanks everyone!!:thumbsup2

For the regular dining plan, you get 1 cs, 1 ts and 1 snack credit for each night of your stay, good up to 24 hrs after you check out. Everyone in the room needs to be on the same package.
I am not sure what restaurants at DTD are on the dining plan: I know Earl of Sandwich is (excellent), Wolfgang Puck Express (counter service), Wolfgang Puck Cafe (table service).

to get an idea of menus and prices. Maybe once your inlaws see the prices, they will consider the dining plan more of a value/convenience! Also, some restaurants impose a holiday price increase. I think just eating at a few restaurants during your trip makes the dining plan a value, even tho tip is oop. There is also a quick service dining plan for just counter service meals and snacks. Happy planning!

The Disney's online pamphlets (in a pdf format) explain exactly what is including and how it all works. The links are awfuly long but I will post them anyways. If they don't work just google them and you will find the full pamphlet.
Here is the link for the Deluxe Dining Plan Pamphlet

And the link for the Dining Plan

Yes - Everyone in your room/reservation needs to be on the same dining plan.

The DPs are all or nothing, everyone on the reservation must have the DP or no one on the reservation can have it. If you want it and they don't consider getting separate rooms. If you have just 4 in your group it may cost about the same $ to get separate rooms.
If you click on Dining at the top of this page you can get to a page that tells you what restaurants are on the DP. You will be able to use places at Downtown Disney as well as any of the resort restaurants that are on the DP. You need a park ticket to eat any places inside the parks.
Your meal credits are based on per night, not per day. You can use those credits anytime during your stay, not just the 1, 1 and 1 each day. In theory you can use them all on one day if you wanted to. You'd just be sich then and hungry later. :rotfl2:
