First I wanted to say thanks to everyone here. At first we had no dining plan, then choose to do the DDP. However, after reading all of these great reports, I just upgraded to the DxDDP.

I just got off the phone with reservations and besides Le Cellier, was able to get everything on our first wish list. Is there anything big that I am missing out on?

We are two adults (32 and 40). My DBF is not a Disney freak like I am, he doesn't even know who the majority of the characters are (GASP), so Character Dining is not too important.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

We have....
Monday
O'Hana (8:25 Dinner)
Watch 10 pm Wishes from the Beach

Tuesday
Coral Reef (1:30 Lunch)
Spoodles (9:05 Dinner)
Jellyrolls for the Dueling Piano Show

Wednesday
Boma (9:15 Breakfast)
Tusker House (1:05 Lunch)
La Nouba
Wolfgang Puck Cafe (9:00 Dinner)

Thursday
Liberty Tree Tavern (1:00 Lunch)
Spirit of Aloha (8:00 Dinner)

Friday
Biergarten (1:10 Lunch)
Watch Illuminations from Japan
Teppan Edo (8:45 Dinner)

Saturday
Narcoosee's (8:20 Dinner)

Sunday
Jiko (8:45 Dinner)

I can totally relate. My DBF and I ( 39 and 44) did the deluxe dining plan last year. He has no idea who the characters are forbid me to book any of the character meals. My suggestions are to do an early lunch or breakfast and a 2 credit dinner. Remember you are getting 3 credits a day plus 2 snacks. Looking at your ADR's it seems as if you may have some meals left over. I would just double check that. Some of our favorite meals were Artist Point, Jiko and California Grill. Although I've been trying to make it to Narcoosee's every trip and always end up cancelling that one. Whatever you do have a great time and enjoy the great food.

Great choices, where in the Poconos we live between Conyngham and Berwick
We love Spoodles, Coral Reef , Tepen Edo and BOMA for breakfast, O'HAna very lively and lots and lots of meat and shrimp, we do have to try Narcoosee's and some of the other place you mention.
To bad you couldn't get Le Cellier we have been there 4 times in the last 3 years and what we usually do is take Le Cellier for dinner whenever we can get it and work all other ADR's around it.
Spirit of Aloha been there once not bad (our brick is right at the entrance from the beach there) but we have been to the Hop Dee Doo 3 times and would go there again and again.
Another place we like is Rose and Crown we try to get an ADR for about 7:40 and around dessert time you can see Illuminations if at a patio seat if not they will take you outside to a patio to view Illuminations, England is the best viewing spot we think anyway.
Another good TS breakfast is the Crystal Palace (see DW in the picture with Piglet) they have made to order omlets and puffy French toast went there in September for the first time and we may like it possibly a little better then BOMA but BOMA breakfast is till great, try there special jungle juice.
Keep an eye on Aligiant Air out of Allentown direct flights, go on line and you can check out the prices, only problem for some is that they land in Sanford/Orlando airport and don't have the Disney Magical Bus, we rent a car so for us that isn't a problem.

I would do a character meal, you are at Disney and its a trip for the two of you. I highly recommend Chef Mickey' perhaps for breakfast on your Narcoossee's day. He definitely knows Mickey, Goofy, and Donald Duck.

Okay, so today's mission is to schedule another breakfast. I'm off to look at the menus for Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's.

beroh; we live about 20 minutes from Wilkes-Barre. Further up the mountain though. Thanks for the info about Allegiant. I looked into that but, skipped it because of the whole Sanford thing (Unfortunately we aren't renting a car). Lucked out though becasue we are flying out of Philadelphia and round trip was 159.00.

p.s. I just saw your tag line. Port Orleans Riverside is where we're staying too!

Riverside is great, they have pretty good breakfast there, you can get a made to order Omlet for a CS or a hot stickey bun for a SC. We are pretty much doing POP these days this way we can try to get to Disney at least once a year, went 2 times in 08 took my son for his college graduation along with DD, didn't do the trip with them for a while till then. We usually go the last week in Sept. the schools are out 2 days that week for the Bloomsburg fair DW is a Sub teacher, we get the free DDP and stay at POP rent a car to get there from Sanford Orlando airport and drive to all the parks and resorts. We always go over to Riverside for a few breakfasts during our week stays, some day we have to stay there again, that is a great resort to just walk around, it's big and the river that runs to Downtown Disney runs right thru it, you can take a boat from there to DTD and back. We just booked a flight yesterday Alegiant to Orlando $29 dollars each way or after you add everytning in $45 but still real good,May my brother-in -law lives there so we are just going to visit and hit the beach. Maybe Disney and free DDP in Sept. if work picks up again.

Hi neighbors.

Just wanted to say that $29 fare out of Allentown is awesome. DBF is not a huge disney fan but because of the cheap airfare we get to go again...woo hoo. Have fun ! Hope we all get great weather but I guess anything is better than the snow we've been having!!!!

Friday
Biergarten (1:10 Lunch)
Watch Illuminations from Japan
Teppan Edo (8:45 Dinner)

You'll want to see what time Illuminations are on the Friday night. You won't be able to see them from Teppan Edo (which is one of my favorite restaurants - YUMMY!!).

Yep Aligiant is great lots in March, April and May at $29 and a direct flight no layovers, when booking on line you just have to go thru slow an make sure you click off all the extra add-in they try to get you for :sad2: , they added a luggage charge you should have seen all the carry-ons on the last flight because of that. We like to rent the car cause we sort of like to drive every where now the magic of being packed on a bus with a 100 others has worn off. We can drive to a different resort, have breakfast and head to the park with no wait time, and we have the AAA paring pass that gets you a pretty good spot to park except for the Magic Kingdom. I also like that the Allentown airport is small and so is Sanford/Orlando airport, get off the plane, get the bags and rental car and off you go, but is is an hour away from Disney but you save time because it is less hectic.

Yeah, if we would have know better, we could've saved ourselves the convenience fee for booking online. They don't charge you that if you go to the airport and book, which we live about 10 min from. Oh well, we know for next time. But we were very careful about unchecking the all the other extra fees. Sorry to get off topic.

Teppan edo is located more inside of the building. Tokyo dining is near the windows, where you could probably see the fireworks from

Thanks for all the help.

We already have tickets for this plane trip but, will definitely look into allegient air for the next one. Have to admit, part of the joy of flying from Philadelphia is getting hoagies on the way home to share with everyone. Gotta love those hoagies.

Based on everyone's recommendations, I am calling tomorrow to try and add Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's for breakfasts. Would also like to add Sci-Fi but, my DBF is a large guy; not sure if he would fit in one of the cars. Lastly is the San Angel Inn for a lunch. I know it's Mexican but, some of the descriptions sound close enough to Puerto Rican.

Finally, thanks for the heads up about seating in Teppan Edo. Illuminations is at 8:00 that night and our reservation isn't til 8:45 so, I think we're going to try and find a spot to watch outside before going into dinner.

OOps, one more thing. Does anyone know if the transportation board is the best place to figure out the logistics of getting to each restaurant?
