Ahhh.....Lilacs!

I never know what I adore more....my lilacs, my viburnum carlisi or the roses in bloom in spring! All three bring joy to my heart!

The smell of lilacs just send me. I usually bury my head in their beauty and drink it all in. Luckily I don't have any allergies.....:p

Well, i have abohter way to enjoy them...love the smell. i have 4 and only one blooms....going to work on the others.:D

Sadly my lilacs did not complete their bloom this year - we had several nights of actual FREEZING conditions right as the bracs were getting ready to bloom. :( They just withered up and did not bloom because they froze. So I just have a shrub this year.

Amid try digging in bone meal to the bases of the lilac's.

I dug out an old bed this past week. It was 20 years old and was starting to look it. Planted all new perennials. Mostly blues, purples, pinks and whites. The highlight of the new bed is a blue lilac. I am very excited about seeing it bloom. Hope I don't have to wait too long.

We have 3 bushes... 2 are blooming and one has one bloom on it. It is the first time in a few years that any of them have bloomed...

They make me deathly ill from allergies. In first grade someone brought lilacs into the classroom and I ended up out of school frot a week with magenta eyeballs from the irritation. And this snotty girl had the nerve to berate me for "ruining the enjoyment of everyone" when my mother asked that they be removed from the classroom. How completely lacking in compassion for another human being :P
