Does anyone know how i can use a cell phone from England and get a sim from America would that be cheaper or is it better to use my cell phone and sim from England

I'm not quite sure how you would go about it. Maybe contact your cell provider, but one option might be to purchase a pay as you use cell phone here in the states. I believe you can purchase prepaid minutes then as you need more add the minutes with your credit card.

You'd better call your provider.

1st, your cell phone neeeds to have the bads that are used in USA. If you cell phone is a quad band, it's ok. And your provider has to activate the roaming, ask them for instruccions.

2nd, if you want to use your cell phone with a sim from a USA provider, you need to unlock your phone, you have to ask your provider the subsidy code of you phone.

Is it cheaper or not? You'll need to compare prices.

I'm using my own phone with a sim from my argentine provider and it works great. The service is great, the price... I don't want to think about that!!!! ;)
