A couple of questions for the Grand Floridian experts. We have booked a lagoon view room for July and need some advice on room request. We have stayed at the Poly lagoon view and had a ground floor room right on the beach. It was great for the kids to just run outside and play in the sand. Do the GF ground floor rooms have walk out patios and are they next to the beach? Is the beach only on the south side of the resort, ie, Big Pine Key building only, or does the beach go completely around the resort. In other words is there a beach next to the lagoon view rooms in Boca Chica? What buildings are non-smoking? If ground floor is not an option, what is the best building for a Magic Kingdom view? Sorry so many questions, just want things to be perfect.

Sorry, only question I can reply to is the question about Boca Chica bldg.
That is where we stayed in December. It was right on the lagoon so there was about 8 feet of grass and then water. No beach. But this bldg has the MOST rooms with a view of the lagoon (and MK) out of all the bldgs. I believe the lagoon view rooms would all be odd numbers. Even faced the Main pool.
Big Pine Key is the closest to the beach and the new zero entry pool, but then you wouldn't have a good view of MK side of the lagoon, it would be the complete opposite side.
Here's the link for the map if this helps:

I would also recommend Boca Chica for the best view of MK. Big Pine Key has a nice view too, the lagoon and other monorail resorts. The GF beach if off to the side, near the pool, you wouldn't be able to access the beach from your room.
