Hoop Dee Do Musical Review or Mickey's Backyard Barbeque. We have 3 girls: 10, 6, and 1 (by the time our week at Fort Wilderness begins.
TIA!

It's a wonderful show, very interactive and great food. We go every trip and wouldn't miss it.
The BBQ is fun, too, we just enjoy the Hoop de Doo a little better.
We first took my daughter when she was 4 (and she was mesmerized!) and today, at 14, she still insists it's a must-do for us
You can't go wrong with either of them

I agree that Hoop Dee Doo is wonderful but we tried the Backyard BBQ this past trip and had a blast! One of the best meals we had!!

I've only done HDDR - never the BBQ - but I highly recommend the HDDR.
Why don't you do both? :)

I completely agree! We loved HDDR (our children were 11 and 7 at the time).

We're thinking about going now on our trip in August. Does anyone have a recommendation on the seating category to book?

You know, I've always had the balcony wings, and found them to be just fine...but if you want more intense participation, go for the floor.

We have sat in both, we like the floor better as we feel a more part of the "action" but if you like to "blend" then the balcony is for you!

Sounds like I need to ask DW, DD and DS what kind of experience they want. It's nice to know that there are good seats in each category.
It has been 20 years since I saw HDDR and I still have fun memories of it, but I don't recall it having different tiered pricing.

I don't remember when it started but now there are three tiers of pricing.
Category 1 seating will be on the first floor closest to the stage
Category 2 seating will be on the first floor behind the Category 1 section below the balcony, or the center of the balcony on the second level
Category 3 seating will be on the right or left hand side of the balcony on the second level
The prices range from $58.99 to $50.99

HDDR is a blast! We had cat 1 seating right up near the stairs going on stage - one of the performers knocked my DH's hat off on the way up. We all got a good laugh and felt part of the action! Well worth the money...

It never did before. This is a new development.

I think you and your family would enjoy either dinner shows. However, I personally feel that Hoop Dee Doo is much better. It really is a quality show and experience. Everyone can enjoy it, not just the little kids. The food is also very good. :)

Are there any bad seats with the tier pricing? I'd want my girls to be close to the action but I was just curious how the 2nd and 3rd tier seating was.

2nd tier is still pretty good, 3rd can be not real good seating. They are all decent, but some are upstairs and feel more removed from the action.

We always sit Category 1 if available - my daughter loves to be right in the middle of the action. And when you are lucky enough to score that prime middle table right next to the stage - buddy, you are in for some fun!
Our first time to HDDR we actually sat in the balcony the very furthest from the stage, and we still loved it. Because it is a live action show and they come out into the audience, it helps bring you into the action.
Whichever you choose, I am sure you will love it!
