Remember DVC FAM's story about the wild turkey following the ducks? A year later DVC FAM returned to OKW and saw a turkduck - part turkey, part duck. Well, we just came back from OKW and we saw two turkducks.
These birds have the shape and beak of a duck with the feathers and tail of a trukey and the red turkey marking all around their necks.
What are these birds - are they really turkducks?

but never a turkduck. Seriously though,I don't think mother nature allows that kind of breeding.Maybe it could happen, but with all the different kinds of birds that intermingle naturally you'd think there would be tons of wierd breeds.

Those are Muscovy ducks (not related to turkeys at all! :D ) and OKW does have several which inhabit the area.

They are a large duck with red, white and black coloration.

Enjoy! :)

"Muscovies" (sp?) are actually quite plentiful "round these parts," and, are actually considered a bit of a nuisance. (IMHO) They can be quite messy...
