Here's pictures of the Trail's End Buffet, but only the breakfast. The price keeps going up and the items available coming down, a true sign of the economy. But, I still love that hot coffee, Mickey waffles and sticky buns. If you are dieting, STAY AWAY.
Lunch looked pretty good as I checked it out one day passing by, but the $$$$ is a wee too high for me. Dinner is suppose to be fairly good. I have heard the chicken is quite good as is the beef stew.
Hope you enjoy the tour...Turning on SmelloVision.

This is your first station which has a large, oops, bit of fruit. The pineapple is indeed gone. Grapes and watermelon are your choices. Small plates are to your right. Larger ones to your left by the egg station. This is also where the butter along with toppings are. Butter is the item with the Mickey ears sticking up.

http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo96/ppp8815/DSC_0072.jpg

Muffin heaven is in the next station...blueberry, chocolate chip, banana and I believe corn bread.

http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo96/ppp8815/DSC_0076.jpg

Next is your breakfast mainstays, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and sausage. And there's your large plates to the right.

http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo96/ppp8815/DSC_0075-1.jpg

Biscuits and gravy, (a southern tradition), MICKEY WAFFLES, usually French Toast is next, but it wasn't out yet, syrup, red stuff *, and hot apples.
*HELP, I can't remember what the red stuff is :confused3

http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo96/ppp8815/DSC_0074-1.jpg

This one is for all the Mickey Waffle lovers, They are quite good.

http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo96/ppp8815/DSC_0073-1.jpg

My favorite..........hot Sticky Buns:thumbsup2

There is also pizza cheese quiche thingy, make your own toast, cold cereal and a few other items.
All you can drink coffee and juice is served at the table upon request.

http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo96/ppp8815/DSC_0162-1.jpg

This area is for takeout bakery goodies. Again, this was early in the AM and more items are available a little later.

Hope you liked the tour.

Excellent photo tour - thanks! (love them Mickey waffles... mmmmm)

I can attest to the chicken - good stuff! We did dinner one night and everything was good. The chicken and super thick clam chowder were my faves. Ribs were ok, but we have a really good BBQ place nearby that is rib-tastic, so hard to compare. Carved meats were good, and while the mac and cheese isn't quite like Mom's <LOL> eating a heaping spoonful does make you feel like a kid again. ;)

So what is the price now for breakfast. Two falls ago we stayed a week at halloween and at there about 4 times for breakfast and a couple of dinners. Enjoyed the takeout chicken more than anything.

There used to be a couple different kinds of eggs - one plain scrambled, one with cheese. Also corned beef hash, which was there last October but doesn't appear to be there in these pictures. Among the pastries, there used to be a variety of fresh doughnuts/danish/bearclaws, which disappeared a long time ago. In the fruit section, there used to be pineapple, mixed fruit salad and a large bowl of apples. Also yogurt. There was also a separate station for toast with 2 or 3 different kinds of bread. These are just a few of the things I remember used to be present.

The station to make your own toast is still there. Didn't get that shot as I saw the waitress bring my coffee to the table and the folks waiting for their toast popped in another couple of slices, soooooo.. no pic.
The hash and other eggs are no longer available.:sad2:

was the oatmeal still there? With so much missing, what is the price (I'm sure it didn't go down). Breakfast may be at camper this trip (or Golden Corral) Need to make the most of what little cash we have to go on the trip and meals is one place we can cut. Sad though, we always looked forward to breakfast at TE and then taking a leisurely walk around FW before going to parks.

Up until this last summer, DH & I took our bikes over to FtW every Friday & started the day with breakfast at T.E. With our DDE card (now TIW) - it came out to $8.99/person. Sometime last summer - the price was raised to (IIRC) $11.99 with the discount, and the selection was cut way back. We stop at Perkins on the way over, now.

The last time we had breakfast at T.E. was when we stayed at FtW in December - and our server was terrible to say the least. What sealed the "I'm not going back to T.E." deal was when an 18% gratuity was tacked on to our bill - which is automatically included on a table service restaurant when using DDE or TIW. Table service??? Our server brought us one beverage each - never came back to refill - and our empty dishes were never cleared. There were about 10-11 guests in the restaurant at the time - so being busy was not an excuse.

We did not renew our TIW this year. We just eat main meals at restaurants outside of Disney property instead.

Here's the latest breakfast menu and price

BREAKFAST
7:30 - 11:30am

Price: $11.99 -- 10 and over ; $7.99 Child (3-9)

Continental Breakfast also available

All-You-Can-Eat Buffet includes:
coffee and hot tea

Fresh Fruit
Omelet of the Day
Scrambled Eggs
Sausage and Bacon
Corned Beef Hash
Mickey Waffles
Hot Cinnamon Spice Apples
Sausage Gravy with Biscuits
Grits
Oatmeal
Assorted Cereals
Fresh Baked Pastries

I did NOT see any hash, it must have been hiding.

Also, have my Tables Dining Experience of Wonderland in Disney or whatever they call it now and the 18% gratuity has been DROPPED.

The service is hit or miss. I've had several excellent servers and than one, bet it was your server, could not have cared less. Such a shame when so many folks are out of work. (Not that good service shouldn't be given ALL the time).

Yes, the oatmeal was still there, just to the right of the sticky buns. I was blinded by the buns....:rolleyes1.
Also, I was first one in that AM as I wanted to get pics and not disturb anyones breakfast, so some items weren't out yet, ie, French Toast, grits, etc.
And it's it a joy to eat breakfast and then just walk around the marina area. Ahhh, now that's relaxing. Here's a picture of a very friendly castmember who came over to talk to me.

We have concluded that unless we can be guaranteed either Darnell, or everyone's favorite - KEN - as servers, and unless Josephine or Paulette are doing the seating - that's it for us. We just get some coffee & sit on the porch. Like I said - we did breakfast just about every Friday at T.E. and the food, its quality, and the new servers have declined tremendously since 4th of July '08.

Hmmm, I must be missing something here. I thought TE was a buffet so the only thing I can see a server for is bringing the coffee/tea. Same with the hostesses, they just lead you to a table. So does TE also offer table service?

Cheers

Ummmm,,when I eat buffet,, I still want someone to keep my plates removes from the table when I'm finished, with the plates.
I still want my drink to be kept full.
Sometimes at the end of my meal I like a cuppa coffee.
Lots of times there are items that you may need that aren't already on the table, or aren't at the buffet.
And where is that bill at the end of the meal that we seem to have to wait forever to get so we can pay and be on our way ?

So if I have a need,,I don't wanna hav'ta play hide 'n seek with the server, just because it's a buffet, doesn't mean inadequate service should be allowed. pixiedust:

It is a buffet, but your server asks what beverages you would like and of course gets rid of the dirty dishes and brings the bill. The "poor" :sad1: servers might not ask what you wish to drink or just assume and never ask about refills, the table fills up with dirty dishes and the wait for your bill can be very long, which if you are hoping to catch the boat to MK seems like an eternity.
The "good" servers are right there with suggestions of not only coffee, but would you like juice as well, the table stays spotless, the bill is there before you even have to ask and to me more importantly, they strike up a conversation, have you been here before (in my case, Hi, how long are you here on this visit???), if you have little ones they ask them all kinds of things, they ask where you are from, how your trip is going, what you like best about WDW, the Fort, etc..... Just makes for a very pleasant experience and great way to start the day.

I think we had that bad server last trip too! Not the norm for sure, usually we have great service. We like to start our FWCG stay with dinner at the TE and finish our stay with breakfast at the TE, it has become our tradition.

When we were having our leaving breakfast in December I was standing at the buffet and the chef came out, I mentioned to him how great the stickey buns looked but that I did not like nuts. After I was back at the table eating my breakfast the chef came over to our table with a plate that had a stickey bun on it with no nuts! That's the Disney service I know and love.

Is the 18% tip really off the Table of Wonder card - I hope so! I didn't mind for most cases but there were times when I would not have tipped the 18% because the service was less than good. I like to be able to make that decision, not have it made for me.

EEEEK, the cost just went up to $13.99!!!
I wonder if they have been reading this forum and what a great deal it was at $8.99?
I have had 4 different servers in the past 5 months and they were all fine.
Josephine and Paulette are such sweeties, always pleasant. Josephine was doing take out orders last week and took very good care of me with suggestions and switching salad dressings and just being very helpful as always. :thumbsup2
Isn't one of the servers named Ed?? I thought it was Ed, always friendly and VERY good with little ones.

Has anyone ever taken two of those waffles and put Icecream between them and made a sandwhich? My mount is watering just thinking about it. I'm going to sneek some out and sell the at the campfire at night and make back my $13.99 every day.
