I'm arriving with another couple the night before we have a 2br SSR reserved through my DVC membership. I wanted to stay at a value or mod that first night with my AP discount and need two rooms, but CM said no to the AP discount on the 2nd room. My DH, who also has an AP is arriving the next day, and the CM said we could reserve the 2nd room under his name, but he won't be there that first night...:confused3 Has anyone reserved more than 1 room with there's only one AP holder in the group, or booked under another AP holder who's not there at check in?

the key is in order to receive the AP discount 1 person Staying in the room must be an AP holder. Hence if your husband was there you would be listed under 1 room and your husband under the second, with the other couple split as a second guest under each room. So it would be like you w/ the other husband under 1 room reservation and your husband w/ the other wife in the second room.

Yes, only one room on an AP. Since your DH will not be there yet, you can't get that second room with his AP.

The other couple will have to pay rack rate, unless they have AAA and can get a room at that rate.

That must be a new policy. I booked 3 rooms with the AP discount in Dec 07. The CM just said that I had to check in all 3 rooms personally.

I recently booked 2 rooms with an AP discount too - and I'm only staying in one of them. The way it was done is b/c the other room is "guests of" me (the AP holder.)

But, I did come up against resistance when I first booked my reservation. I tried 2 other times before I found a CM who did it for me. When I had success with this I was "playing dumb" and not mentioning codes or AP discounts, etc.

Here is my advice - Call the res line and don't mention anything about your AP or AP discount. Just say that you'd like to add another room to your reservation, give them your conf # and take it from there.

Keep trying until you find a CM who will do it for you. Good luck!

But are you sure you won't have any problems at check in? I know in the past you could get up to 3 rooms with an AP, but they changed that a few months ago. I wouldn't be suprised if you are told your AP is only good for 1 room when you arrive at Disney.

It is a "fairly" new policy. Only one room per AP for the last year or so

Yes this does appear new (which is also the policy at Universal). We are a family of 6 AP holders, so never an issue for us.
