Me and there are 4 people that aren't necessarily coming for DISCon but may join us - I have to verify this as it gets closer. I also have organized a table for dinner that I think is pretty full but there are some people that aren't sure if they are going home that day or not.

Thankyou, John, Have a great Memorial Day DIS mini-meet this week-end.
I haven't bought my MVMCP ticket yet either. I read another thread where a DISer was able to place Priorty Seating when tey bought their ticket. I know that they are saling a package with Liberty Tree Tavern, but I wonder if you can make a group Priorty Seating for Crystal Palace when you buy your MVMCP ticket?

Ray, no you can't make a priority seating with a restaurant other the LTT when you order your MVMCP tickets. But come October 10th, I'll be making a PS for twelve at the CP. Don't have my PDA with me to list the names, but y'all know who you are.
I wonder if that's enough acronyms for one post..... :rolleyes:

If Personal Data Assistant = PDA, then Palm Pilot = ??
I keep telling my son James that my Palm Pilot is a PDA. He refuses to refer to it that way. He prefers a slightly shorter abbreviation. So you can imagine my son telling everyone that his dad has a lime green "PDA" and that he is always writing notes on it and can even take pictures with it.
We have descended to a whole new level of "PDA" humor at our home. And believe it or not, my DW Sue encourages him by her laughter. So the list of "PDA" jokes has become a running gag around our home.
I would suggest that we drop this particular topic until we see each other in person lest we raise the ire of the moderators.
Chris, John and I will both be in Chicago in July. You can hear all about it then! ;) :D :D
And, when you add someone with an "odd" sense of humor (Bill), thing's really get out of control!!!! ROTFL I'm still LOL!!!!! :D :D

I was thinking the same thing, Chris! :D We'll have a great crowd on the 8th! I think we need to try a huge group ride somewhere. We did that on Pirates last year. What fun! :D :D :D
disneycub
06-04-2002, 03:45 PM
We also did it for Splash Mountain, didn't we? Wasn't that the time when ... um .... someone .... high-centered the boat?
Oh, that was the Thrill Ride tour. That's right.... :D
We we all singing "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me" at the top of our lungs on Pirates, weren't we?

06-04-2002, 03:45 PM
How about a group picture? I know that we drove them absolutely crazy last year when we our group tried to squeeze into one photo.
Yeah, but the group photos are my favorite pictures from DIS-CON!!! :D :D :D I love the picture from MVMCP, the character breakfast and you just gotta love the Splash Mountain picture!!!!! :D :D:p :p
I just read on All Ears that the CP will be closed until 12/15! So it looks like we may be doing Chef Mickey's that night. Or do we want to try for somewhere inside the park, like Tony's or the castle?? :(
disneycub
06-05-2002, 09:54 AM
I'd suggest Chef Mickey's, mostly because I think they'd be able to accommodate several large tables, which is what we'll need. Plus the castle dinner is pretty pricey (not that everything else isn't) :rolleyes: Also, we could take the monorail over to the MK or walk (for those so inclined).

Another vote for Chef Mickey's.
Pixie Power!
06-05-2002, 11:27 AM
Ive never been to Chef Mickey's can someone tell me more about it :D
Thanks
Emma
Emma, it's a character meal with Chef Goofy, Chef Mickey, (I think)Chip and Dale, and who else? Does Max show up here? It's a very neat place for a rowdy group to go to eat. They play this one song where everyone swings their napkin in the air to the music. Also, it's a buffet style meal with lots of choices and a really extensive ice cream bar. I think it will be lots of fun for all of us to eat there-we'll have the best time!! :D :D
disneycub
06-05-2002, 11:57 AM
Ice Cream Bar????? Yum! Guess you can tell I've never eaten at Chef Mickey's either. :rolleyes:

Another hand up for Chef Mickey's also. I've eaten at Chef Mickey's for breakfast but not for lunch or dinner so I'd love to try dinner there. The breakfast was alot of fun!!! Plus they do have an area that is by the windows that will hold larger group of people so maybe we'd be lucky and get seated there :) :) :) :)
Chris, I was thinking the same thing. That section by the window would be perfect for all of us. I wonder what it would take to reserve a section for a big group? Mmmm.......I may just have to make a phone call or two. :D

Hmmmmmm.....let me know Barb!!!!! Hmmmmm....I can see the Orlando news stations now....
50 or so DISConers Take Over CHEF MICKEY'S - film at 5!!!!! ROFLMBO
Here's the story from the Orlando Sentinal....
Mickey Learns How to "Food Fight"
A group of DIS Conventioners make their mark on Mickey...Chef Mickey's that is. A very popular restaurant for vacationers at Walt Disney World's resort, Chef Mickey's pleases the palate as well as entertains the guests. During the ever popular character meal, guests are invited to swing their napkins in the air with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and other characters.
However, this ever so large group decided to have a bit of fun on Mickey. As the music was starting, out of their bags and backpacks came their character (no pun intended) color lime green colored napkins that replaced the hunter green ones used at the restaurants. Some were even filled with pieces of food to replicate the use of the buffet table. A few in particular decided to go seek out Mickey and show him how to REALLY use a napkin and told him NOT to warn Pluto....it would be a snack for the oversized dog later!!!! Also seen were several of the guests from the group getting on top of their chairs so that the food particles would travel farther. At some point, one of the guests thought they heard a child yell "food fight" and thus began the ever exciting and bit tantilizing food fight at Chef Mickey's!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D
Please note - this is not real and has never been attempted at Walt Disney World. The above story is false and WILL NOT happen :D
ROTFL, Chris! That is too funny! :D :D :D I love it! :D
Another bonus at Chef MIckey's is the group photo they take just before you get seated!!!!:eek: ;)
December99
06-05-2002, 03:22 PM

Out of curiosity, How much is Chef Mickeys?
Towncrier
06-06-2002, 02:28 PM
Chef Mickey's - Contemporary Resort - Relocated during 1996 to the Contemporary , Chef Mickey's now serves breakfast and dinner with Chef Mickey, Chip, Dale and Chef Goofy . The breakfast buffet offers the usual items - eggs, breads, meats, fresh fruit, etc. At dinner there is a salad bar, peel and eat shrimp, soups, hot entrees, breads, carved meats, vegetables, desserts and an ice cream bar with a great variety of toppings. All characters visit guests tables except Goofy who seems to holds court in the waiting area. Breakfast $15.95-A and $8.95-C. Dinner $21.95-A/$9.95-C. Priority seating is recommended.

We're considering eating at the Liberty Tree Tavern beforehand. Thanks and we look forward to seeing some familiar faces.
December99

I just got off the phone with Chef Mickey's and this will be easy. We can make the reservation at least 60 days in advance (sooner if needed). They can hold up to 373 people (so no maximum on one PS). They require a credit card just to hold the ressie (no problem) and they can only do one seating - 5:00pm!!!!
If you ask me...this is almost too perfect! We can add or take off the original ressie up to 48 hours before the dinner.
So...I am still thinking that Chef Mickey's is the place to go!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just an FYI - I am in the process of calling and finding out information about making a PS at Chef Mickey's for Dec. 8 and how we go about doing it for such a large group. We currently have approximately 40 people right now on the list above (I've added a few to the count that I know are unsures). I will post about anything that we need to do.
I first called Disney Dining, they gave me the number for Group Dining who I just called and they in turn gave me the number directly to Chef Mickey's and told me they can give me all the information as some restaurants have their own policies. So I will be calling Chef Mickey's in a bit to gather as much "group dining" info as I can....I'll post as I get info!!!!
Absolutely not, December99. Speaking for myself, I like information. And I really, really appreciate that you are taking the tim to do all this research. It's going to be so cool for all of us to be together. And since it looks like Crystal Palace may be closed, we need more options.
Anyway, we can't make Priority Seatings until 60 days before December 8, 2002 or about October 8, 2002.
I get the feeling that the Crystal Palace may be mostly torn down and completely rebuilt even bigger and fancier. Maybe that is why the rehab is taking six months.
Anyway, I'm still keeping Crystal Palace in the back of my mind, just in case it reopens early.
And with the information that you gave it's good to know that you can cancel and change things up to 48 hours.
I think that it's important to plan, because we won't be the only ones calling for ps that day.
I hope that no one thinks that you are stepping on toes. I sure don't think that of you. I think that you'll find some pretty nice folks here. If someone is so petty and high schoolish to pick on you......weeeellllll...you just let me know and I'll....I'll...I'll do somthin...lol
Thanks Ray...I just didn't want to be stepping in and "taking" over on this.
I can call tomorrow and make the ressie, with group ressies you can call up until 60 days out. They want the ressie made by 60 days out so we can't wait until October to make it. I think what I'll do is go ahead and call and make the ressie tomorrow and hold it. If we decide to cancel it, then we decide to cancel it. At least we will have a place held for us and I would think that by 60 days out, we will have a more accurate count also, not that we would need one.
This IS gonna be fun!!!!! Not that it wasn't but just imagining 50 or DISers flying their napkins in the air...there's just something about it that makes me all fuzzy!!!! :D :D :D :D
Chris, what a sweetie you are. You are not "taking over" at all. This is great news!! Thanks for doing this. You're heading for "commando" status at an alarming rate! LOL :D
Not all of us can make the phone calls or arrangements, so by you doing this, it really helps out the group. We love that! :D :D
I think this will a rip-roaring fun time, for sure!! It will be a great way to start off the evening! :D :D
Way to go, Chris! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Ray, you don't fool me, you're too nice to "do something". You're just a big teddy bear in red white and blue. :D :D :D
Chris: You go, girl! How many are you gonna make the ressie for? I had twelve or thirteen that were part of my table.
Thanks for taking this on. I'd say you've gone commando. :rolleyes:
And Ray: EXACTLY what Barb said. You don't fool me either. ;)
Chris, please add me to your Chef Mickey's list. :) Thanks. :) I'm part of Steve's table, so don't add me extra if you're just going to add Steve's table. :)
Ray-ROTFLMBO!!!!!:p :p :p :p :p I got a Big Dog's email selling stuff for Father's Day and I just about fell on the floor laughing! :D :D That's our Ray, a teddy bear in....well, you know! ;) LOL
Chris, I think we already had about 4 or 5 tables in progress. Most tables were for 10, give or take. So I think you're estimate of 50 (to start) is pretty good.
Thanks, again, for taking the reigns on this one. :D :D :D
Okay...I'm going to call this afternoon and start the ressie at 50. I was going by the roll-call list that TC has on the first page. That has 36 people and I added 4 to that I think might be joining us but are waiting for the "official" word (mainly my roomies and a couple of other people :D :D ). I will post later today after I get the call made - this morning is just a pain in the butt and I know I won't get it done until later this afternoon.
Oh by the way...did you know that....
:o Oh Chris, that's how most people feel about themselves. :o But somehow the 'commando bug' bites even the most down-to-earth and relaxed type when they least expect it. So, unless you're in a coma, it's entirely possible that you've been bitten. ;) Thanks for taking this bull by the horns. :D I can't wait either. :)
Keep me on that list for Chef Mickey's! Our MVMCP tickets arrived in the mail the other day, AND our timeshare request came through with Monday checkout, so we won't have to worry about moving! That means we check in on Mon. 12/2 and check out on Mon 12/9. :D
We may have to stay off grounds, but it sure will help with our budget. I'm already spending more than double what we spent last year! :earseek: Besides, the timeshare we will be at is Marriott Cypress Harbor. We stayed there a couple of years ago & really liked it a lot!
Once I get my internet changeover done sometime this week, I'll have to set up one of those countdown clock thingies! I'm getting really excited now that I know we are really going, and we'll be able to stay for all of DIS-CON! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
I will be doing a ps for about 50 people to start and if we need to add more then that's fine. We can all work out table situations after I find out from them how many will be able to sit at a table and hopefully they can tell me where we will be sitting (or approximate anyway). I'm hoping they will give us that seating area that is in front of the windows that looks outside - that would be too cool!!!! I'm going to request that area anyway. So stay tuned and watch on August 10 for the post after I make the ressie (I probably won't be able to post until the afternoon due to I have Market Day that morning right after I make the call!!!!).
I havent got my ticket yet but will prob come late Dec or maybe the 5th and leaving Dec 9--early am (I wanted to go to mvmcp with other ppl--looks like lots going Dec 8). So far I have a ressie at ASmu. I really, really want AKL but the codes for the good rates are all sold out. If anyone has a room there and wants to share that would be great. I know its kinda far, but no farther that the AS. Im will prob be alone. My family is going to see the mouse this Friday!!! Staying for 7 days YC then 2 days RPR at US.
Although I feel bad about not bringing my 2 yr old to see Disney at Christmas time. Im very excited about meeting the ppl I have been chatting and posting with.
Jeff, last year 14 of us squished into a picture! LOL It was pretty difficult. :rolleyes: I think parties of 10 and less would be better. LOL
Also, the best time to take the picture is actually AT dinner. Once we broke from dinner last year, everyone went their seperate ways. :( No biggy. It's just the way it has to be in order to 'move'. LOL It's not easy to 'move' large groups. :rolleyes: ;) :p
