--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now if any of you followed my FIRST PTR I started it just a little over 9 months before the actual trip...it was dubbed 'my WDW pregnacy PTR' so this may be uncharted waters for me only starting this PTR less than 2 months away :rolleyes1
And I surely did not think the day I finished my first TR, I'd be starting a new PTR so soon. But :yay: I am.
So how did it all begin?
Just under 3 weeks ago, I was on the phone chatting w/ my Mom. My children had been home going on 6 days straight w/ missing 2 days of closed school due to sub zero temperatures, the weekend, MLK Jr holiday and a TI day of school. Needless to say in my household we were all a little :crazy2:  back to this phone call...the conversation turned to me talking about Disney which came about from chatting about a crop night I just went to w/ friends and the Disney pages I had done plus a upcoming trip in 010...which then turned to Mom asking me if I heard about the 4/3 deal?
of course I so wish we could bounce back, but it just is not in the cards....
Mom starts thinking outloud :scratchin
"I'm thinking of maybe looking into that and going back in April for Dad & my anniversary"
some more thinkin' :scratchin
"well when is the kids Spring Break agian?"
Right after your Birthday I reply....
and a little more thinking and me getting :hyper:
and then before I know she has invited my family to go w/ her and Dad the end of March and celebrate her Birthday. and the bonus:
she's practically paying for everything:cool1:
HOLY COW!!! boy do I  my MOM!!!!!!
I then very giddy-like call my DH at work and tell him, I'm literlly bouncing off the walls :hyper: he says
"um yeah I'd love to go" (like duh?)
based on a few financial situations for my parents and then he says:
"Are you sure you can plan a trip only 12 weeks away?" :rotfl:
I then sent some PM's to 2 of my special Disboard friends DisMomAmy and MRYPPNS to let them in on my awesome secret!
A few days later it was official and I booked the trip "Grandma's Birthday Gathering" the afternoon of Wednesday Jan 21st.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok then I think this a fun and exciting start to my :tigger: bounce-back Suprise!
Thanks for reading and come back soon to join in the planning FUN!

OK now I actually read your post... Thanks for the shout out!!
I think we had already discovered this many moons ago, but I had forgotten... my dad is a fairly recent retiree from the USPS - 35 years! Then he had his midlife crisis, remarried and moved far away and became a shaman.:rotfl: No I'm not kidding...
What constitutes a "Grand Gathering"? 8 people? We'll have 8 people for 3 of our days - do they do anything special for that? One of the CMs I spoke with when I made our ADRs asked me if I had a GG number - I just said no and blew it off. Should I have asked more questions?

GolfandEat are you my DFIL? JK a great BIG :welcome: to you!
I feel so honored you chose me as your first place to make a post:goodvibes
Thanks for saying 'hi' and I hope you enjoy this little PTR of mine!
lisalonglash good to see you over here, I hope we have lot's of fun together
MRYPPNS too bad we can't add sound bites huh? you crack me up girl. the plans will be coming soon....
DisMomAmy I'm sorry....but hey you are the only one to post twice (besides me) so far:rolleyes2 To anwser your question about Grand Gatherings. Yes if your party(ies) consisit of 8 or more people then you are a GG...we are technically because there is 8 people, but because Margaret is still under 3 we are technically only 7 people...but the CM who set up my ressie sorta I think :confused3 accidently made us one even though we're not...so yes we have a GG name "Grandma's Birthday Gathering" which my DMom totally get's a kick out of and we have a number. Benefits: you get priorty when they do the ressie room placements (oh and your ressies are linked under this one number), and I think for your ADRs plus there are other Dinning/Activity options you can participate in but I think they are $$$. Anyways w/ all that said, I'd call and ask if it would be helpful...LOL
mommytothreeboys thank you, that was sweet. :yay: to a fellow Scrapbooker. I'm currently working on my album from our last trip in June and as soon as it's complete (hopefully this month!) I'm going to post it on the Scrapbooking threads.

My Planning Tools:
Ok some of these are new, re-used, updated and borrowed. As any avid WDW trip planner you need to have some tools to help keep you organized and prepared for your upcoming adventure.
Even though I’ve been to the World a previous 6 times, really only the last 2 (and now including this one has been mega-planned). I’m sure the times I went as a young adult we had a game plan for the parks and our days, but nothing in comparison to how I do it now. I think the reasons have to do w/ bringing children…there is a lot more to think about and now that I’m a bit of a ‘vet’ when it comes to planning/going (believe I know there are people out there who have gone double or triple the times as me) I have learned from past successes and failures of our trips.
So for any newbie’s out there please don’t get freaked by my OCD tendencies of trip planning and those who know please feel free to laugh at my insanities or gently tell me when something may need a little red-x-ing.
So what do I use:
The BIG trip Planning Binder we’ll call her PB for short.
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1573.jpg
(the plain white binder) Now I know what you are thinking, she looks a little plain…I am working on her cover but it needs a few technical fixes, that DH has to help w/. Below is a picture in progress:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1586.jpg
Inside PB are 8 sections, divided like so:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1575.jpg
Which includes air travel info, DME stuff, etc
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1588.jpg
Which includes are travel itinerary info from DTC and anything pertinent to our current resort choice-CSR
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1589.jpg
Which includes suggested packing lists for travel, touring, etc. Plus my personal packing lists including one general one and one for each family member
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1578.jpg
Which includes DDP info, restaurant menu’s ADR lists, food allergy info, etc
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1577.jpg
Which includes my touring plans and any info pertinent to the 4 main parks
Then I also have a section for anything in the World that is Extra (likes kid adventures, WP’s, etc); and another section for misc planning things, and finally I section for DisBoard items.
And then in the very front is my “To-Do LIST” for the trip (as some of you recall I love lists)
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1574.jpg
My trip planning Note-Book:
The little purple notebook is for pre-planning prep and notes. Inside it has 4 sections (Resorts & Travel info, Tickets & Dining, Vacation Itineraries, & Misc packing, Budget, etc)
Here are a couple pictures from inside it:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1584.jpg
CSR info
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1582.jpg
Clothes themes
My Disney Box:
Now I borrowed this idea from my friend MRYPPNS (Heidi) it is not nearly as fancy as hers but it fits its purpose. To HOLD small trip items that I use each trip or new things as bought for each new trip. It’s actually a diaper box covered w/ some WDW maps and then some MM head paint chips for each of our family’s trips (05, 08, & now 09)
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1565.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1559.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1563.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1562.jpg
Inside the box:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1569.jpg
Right now I have my WDW backsack, reusable MM bag, container for quarters & pennies for pressed pennies, a autograph pen, some mini notebooks, pencils and stickers for the kids, glow bracelets, snack container for Margaret, a set of Disney trivia cards, and 1 of my MouseScrapper id tags.
Odds and Ends:
WWW
I’m using UG Touring Plans for my Park touring plans (and Heidi)
Gaining other info from the UG site, the official WDW site, mousesavors and the Disboards of course
BOOKS
08 UG book
08 Passporter Open Pass (for disabilities)
And some other misc ones
I may go to the bookstore to just look over the 09 books as well. But not planning to purchase anything at this time
Tip book:
I also have a small notebook that I write in tips or tricks I learn from the Disboards
Michael's Special Guidebook:
I created a guidebook for my DS Michael who has Aspergers and ADHD on our last trip, and plan to make him another one for this trip.
see the link below to go the thread in the disABILITIES threads to see what I'm talking about:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1774902
I will also create a new Trip/Vacation Journal
And finally I’ll bring a pocket size notebook in the parks for note-taking to report for the TR upon our return.
Ok that is basically it. I will utilize and go into more detail of each thing as the planning continues.
Thanks for reading and please come back for more…

for the section covers: I google images of things I want, ie restaraunts, castle, rides, etc. I save the image in 'my pictures' then I insert a picture from file using Microsoft publiser, shrink to the size I want arrange, add a text box. You can also download Walt Disney font from online too... and then print, cut and stick on.
Hope that helps!:thumbsup2

Just a quick hello, had to do some other things besides Disney:upsidedow but today I planned out a master packing list and went through the 2T spring/summer clothes bin in my basement for clothes for Margaret...there will be no short wearing yet the end of March in Chi-town, but at Mickey's house oh yeah!:cool1: anyways pulled out shorts, t's, pj's, swimsuits, etc for the upcoming trip. and then dug thru 3 more bins trying to find a WDW Princess shirt that I bought for Mae at the time in 05 (she was then 2 1/2) she can still wear the larger matching one that was first bought for Aldine. I just knew this shirt was somewhere and Margaret and Mae just HAD to wear them...matchy-matchy you know.
I probably dug for like 20 minutes...where could it be:confused3 and finally in the bottom of a winter 4T bin it was found. Yay for a little pixiedust: Disney magic!
I'm all OCD when it comes to clothes and I will do a whole fun post all about the cool Clothing themes for this trip...DH just :rolleyes1 but it's all fun for me. Yes I do have a weeks worth of outfits already semi planned out for a trip still 7 weeks away...come on now no :rotfl: I haven't started packing yet;)

Ok sorry this is not the Touring Plans post yet. I had a doc appt this morning and it's just about noon here and need to do lunch, then heading over to the kids school to help celebrate with Mae's K class the 100th day of school DH is taking a 1/2 day too and helping the kids build a castle/fort out of 100 cereal boxes.
I will try and post tonight or tomorrow!
But the Disney trip thing I did today was I just got off the phone w/ DTC and made the final payments on our ressies and canceled a couple ADR's we won't need.
So I guess it's officially official I'm going to Disney very soon! OH and for those of you who do not know, my kids still don't know yet we are going. Have yet to spring the great suprise!
Have a great Day!

Alex loves the 100th day of school! They are still celebrating it in 2nd grade. With all the snow days, their 100th day of school falls on Friday - so they are having their 100th day celebration AND their Valentine's Day party on the same day!
The 100 cereal box castle sounds like fun!

I forgot my camera today, but I will be back in class on Friday to read w/ the kids and check out the twins v-day parties (Mae's is on Thursday) and I'll take a picture.
We got the castle to take home from when the twins were in K, and today the teacher asked Matt if we might have a spot for this one....;)

no not really, DH & I just really haven't had time to talk about it. We might tell them this weekend in conjuction w/ Valentines or push it off a little longer. But I'm gonna have to soon, as another piece of Disney mail came and Aldine was the one who got the mail.....

I'm feeling like we might have to cave in on the surprise a little early... Zachary was telling me about another little girl in his class who just got back from Disney. I think that is the 6th child out of 13 who has been already this year. He's feeling a little left out... if only he knew!

My Touring Plans:
So the 1st step in any WDW trip plan should be your touring plan. Which days are you going to MK, DHS, etc? Which days will you attempt to make ADR’s for Chef Mickey’s, World Showcase Dining, etc? Which days will you do extra stuff like mini golf, water parks, etc? Which days will you take a rest at your resort?
This may seem not very complicated, but believe it’s not…
If you run by the seat of your pants or have a full out Operational Plan like my good friend Kathy RN, you still need to have some ideas. Like what the park hours hours, EMH hours and days, when are the evening shows being run and times, and a great trade secret the ‘lowest crowd charts’.
That is where I began: the ‘LCC’
When I originally pm’d MRYPPNS w/ my news, she checked out the UG (unofficial guide’s touring plans) LCC for me and what an awesome friend she is, she copied it and set it up in an excel spreadsheet and emailed me the info. I was like :hyper: when I got that.
So based on that I went to work on some prelimery plans. My ‘The Parks Touring Plan’ or TPTP:
Here is a page form my planning notebook w/ some written out plans for Day 2) :
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1583.jpg
Here were some first thoughts:
Day 1) arrival-no park-no set plans-decide that day-options: eat, explore CSR, swim, go to Marketplace
Day 2) Mom’s b-day-1st full day in the parks-best park choices MK or DHS-or option C) Epcot **BTW DHS is my Mom’s fav park and there is no Spectro or F! tonight, and EMH morn @ Epcot
PLAN: M(orning)-rope drop park tour through lunch then leave
A(fternoon)-resort to rest/swim
E (vening)- go back to park, or go to MP, or go mini golf, or Mom/Dad
dinner out/us stay at CSR
Day 3) best park choices Epcot- Spectro tonight at MK, EMH morn @ DHS
PLAN: M-bfst in room or before park opening ADR at Norway, tour park
through lunch then leave
A- resort to rest/swim/explore or got to MP
E- stay at CSR, or go back to Epcot leave before Illuminations, or go
back to MK stay for Spectro, or night out for DH & I
Day 4) best park choices DHS-F! is going on today and EMH eve @ MK
PLAN: M- go to MP to shop, or rope drop park through lunch, or all day
DHS tour
A- go to DHS late stay for F!, or resort to rest/swim
E- go back to DHS for F!, or go to MP, or mini golf or stay at CSR
Day 5) best park choices MK-no Spectro, Wishes @ 9 pm only-no EMH’s- try to see MK horses at FWC and little museum this morning/or afternoon
PLAN: M- pre park opening ADR CP, or rope drop park thru lunch, or stay in at
CSR, or go to MP
A- resort to rest/swim, or arrive late to MK and stay for Wishes
E- go back to MK for wishes, or if MK already leave mid evening back
to CSR for night in
Day 6) best park choices AK or DHS-no EMH’s
PLAN: M-rope drop park thru lunch & leave or get to AK late a 11-6 tour
w/ parade included
A- resort to rest/swim or be at AK
E- go to MP, or mini golf, or stay at CSR, or night out for DH & I
Day 7) best park choices Epcot- no EMH’s
PLAN: M- rope drop park thru lunch, or go to MP
A- go to MP, or back to CSR rest/swim
E- go back to park leave before Illuminations, and/or night out for
DH & I, or mini golf
Day 8) best park choices AK or DHS-departure day-EMH morn MK
PLAN: M-park after checkout tbd
A- lunch in park, leave park no later than 3:30 pm, probably need to
catch DME back to airport by 4:10 pm (our flight out is 7:10 pm)
E- at airport, coming home
So here were some pre-decision critera:
*KIM we are using no PH tickets
*MK and Epcot are priority parks, need at least 2 reg non travel days for each
*Want to see Spectro
* Have never seen F! Mom really wants too
*need some early and late mornings
*don’t really want to tour MK on a Sat
*need time for shopping at MP
*don’t have an official “off” day so need to have lot’s of R & R at CSR scheduled in
* we have some priorty ADR’s for Epcot, MK, and DHS may determine days to tour or times
*need at least 2 1/2 days or 1 full day for DHS
I then pm’d MRYPPNS w/ these tentative touring plans and based on the above thoughts, her input, when I got the ADR’s and some more thinking this is what I came up w/. Yes I gave up some things for others, but over all I think it looks good!
Day 1) arrival day- “We’ve Bounced Back”
*ETA to CSR 3:30 pm
*No park
*lunch & dinner at CSR or MP
*activity options: explore CSR, swim, rest and/or go to MP if up to it
Day 2) Mom’s b-day “Make Mom’s (Grandma’s) Birthday Magical”
*MK rope drop
*special TS lunch in park
*longer touring day take full use of Mom’s b-day choice family FP
*try to leave park no later than 4pm
*surprise dinner for Mom & Dad (for her b-day & thanks) at TS @ CSR
*us eat at QS and decorate Mom’s room w/ b-day surprises
Day 3) “Soarin, Test Track, Morocco, & France…Oh My!”
*EPCOT
*pre-park opening breakfast ADR
*tour through early to mid afternoon
*rest night at CSR
*possible night out DH & I
Day 4) “Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, it’s off to DHS we go”
*All-day Touring
*as close to park opening as possible
*possible eat breakfast at Starring Rolls Café
*lunch ADR-Mom’s choice
*possible break back at CSR or stay in park for a break inside
*stay at park for F!
Day 5) “Another Magical day at MK”
*Marketplace shopping morning
*possible stop at FWC
*arrive late to MK and stay for Wishes
Day 6) “Put your Pith Helmet on, We’re going to Africa”
*AK
*either rope drop morning leave after lunch OR arrive later and stay thru 4pm
parade
*evening plans tbd mini golf or stay at CSR (base on weather), and possible
other night out option for DH & I
Day 7) “Passports ready for more Epcot Adventure”
*rope drop stay thru lunch and leave (8:45 am-1:00 pm)
*afternoon tbd either Marketplace or CSR rest
*evening go back to Epcot leave before Illuminations
Day 8) departure Day “It’s time to Leave, but first we’ll visit ….”
*check-out
* head to a park choice tbd not sure if I’ll decide before we go or wait till
we are down there.
Well there you have it! Hope you like it and comments always welcome.
as well I will do other posts on our specific touring plans w/in each park

I think your plans look great - but one warning...
I have heard that DHS is MOBBED on F! days - even in the mornings. Earlier in your planning you mentioned DHS could maybe be a two half-day park - I would either park hop ($$) or plan it has two half days - one morning on a non-F! day and one evening to see F! Also - are you doing the FDP? Another option is to see the second showing of F! if they offer it. (They have been adding in a second showing on some nights based on attendance.)
I've looked into this quite a bit because we really wanted to see it, but have ruled it out for mid-week and it is a maybe (but unlikely) for our last night - with the FDP. A couple people who have been there recently (January) have said they will skip F! next time if it is still down to 2-3 nights per week and avoid DHS on any F! days. Sorry...
One other possible little blip is that you have MK scheduled on a Monday - can be busy since many people want to start their vacation at MK and that's often a Monday.
Isn't it exciting to have a TP!! I love mine - I just like to look at it even if I'm not changing anything. (Now that I'm finally happy with it!)

Yay, another trip! Just finished reading your last one recently. Love the box and all the lists. Also appreciate you listing your touring plans, ADR's etc. We are going for the first time in May and I am working on touring plans-also using UG and ADR's Have fun telling the kids!

You used " Pith Helmet"!!!!!! For some strange reason I love the phrase "Pith Helmet"......I'm an odd bird, I know!
Scrappie-Do had horrible park schedules from Disney to work with. I feel for all of you with vacations this spring. Disney is not making tour planning easy right now. I have friends going in two weeks so I'll try to get the low down on the whole F!/DHS crowds from her to see if it's improved at all.

I hear you Amy on both points...and orginally my thought was to split DHS to the Friday in the morning and the Sunday at night w/ F!...but then that ran me into terrible options for MK. With my best days for that park would be the Friday and Monday. We really decided that PH was a no option this year, becuase of the $$ factor and since my Mom is basically paying for the trip I have to think of her and what she is giving us...for her b-day to boot. Plus the PH-ing was just too much for Michael all that running around and now w/ only having the buses as our park transpo I didn't want to deal w/ more bus travel then I really have too, especially since Margaret was not so keen about the buses in June, DH vetod the option of us renting a car....
anyways w/ that in mind and the other best park days...I knew we needed 2 basically full days of MK and MK rulled out DHS being 2 days. Plus I have the last day as a tbd park choice and DHS is a possibilty.
No we are not doing a dinning package for F! becuase of where my Mom really wanted to eat TS at the park...which I'll get into later. If not everyone can handle F! we'll split up. Plus the crowds can not be nearly as bad as a SWW day:scared:
MK Mondays or Saturdays....both can kinda be scary...but since our 1st touring day is MK-Friday and we'll be banking on skipping any major lines w/ Michael and my Mom's b-day FP the big stuff is all scheduled on Friday leaving the lesser attractions for the Monday and Wishes can be treated the same as F!. I was very :confused3  :headache: w/ the whole week but it can nver be truley perfect and I'm ready to go w/ it! Thanks for the heads up I will keep it in mind.:goodvibes

I know the PHs are extra $$, but when I suggested to Ed that we just go base ticket this trip, he doesn't want to give up the flexibility.
I think he's remembering our first few trips (Pre-DIS, Pre-TGM). There were a couple of times when we felt that the park we were in was getting too crowded, so we would go to a different park in the evening. But, we were doing the afternoon-nap-at-the-resort back then as well.
I like staying in one place if at all possible, but, like you say, sometimes you just can't seem to get all the pieces to fit. I'm trying not to get myself too crazy about it next time.
I also definitely hear you about Michael not being able to do the bouncing around. Because of the whole Fantasmic scheduling difficulties, we had gone to one park in the morning and then to the Studios for just dinner and F!
Oh boy, was that a mistake! Billy obsessed all week until we got back to the Studios. He is so rigid about wanting to do certain things at each park...he couldn't handle that we were just there for dinner and the nighttime show!
So yes, we avoided the morning Studio crowds, but at what price? It just confused the heck out of him!
So, even though Ed wants to get the PHs, I'm really not planning on utilizing them unless absolutely necessary.
Ah, what to do, what to do, right?? Planning is such sweet sorrow......

My Dining Choices:
This is the 2nd trip using some version of the Disney Dining Plan
In June of 08 we used the regular DDP which included 1 TS, 1 QS, and 1 snack per night of our stay which equalled out to be 70 meals and 35 snacks between the 5 of us (Margaret under 3 didn't count) on the plan. that's alot of food huh? At first I was wary since it is alot of $$ but then we we justified the kid cost of $9.99 a night and we could go to 4 Character Meals and the kid price is over that $9.99 we thought this acutally could be nice. After doing the fuzzy Disney Math and charting all the meals and just knowing hey it's all paid for one last thing to budget and worry about down there besides the TS tips we went for it.
I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was so nice to take advantage of the many great TS and Character meals that we would probably have never done w/ out the DDP. So we strongly felt we'd use it again on future trips! :thumbsup2
Now to this year:
In the quick prelimery planning of this trip, My Mom thought the QSDDP (which includes 2 QS and 2 Snacks per person per night of your trip plus a resort refillable mug) would be sufficent for this trip and then just add in a few extra TS meals and pay OOP for those. I at first was disappointed, thinking but I really liked all the character meals, etc....
but after talking it over w/ DH and realizing that the TS meals do take alot of time away from touring or whatever else you want to do, it may be nice to have more freedom in when we want or need to eat. And besides the QS places are not an average McD's mind you.
So w/ Mom in agreement and since she's basically funding this little trip...that's what we went w/. as well I was concerned trying to book 7 TS less than 60 dyas out for 8 people may be tough.
We then discussed some TS options of where my Mom and us wanted to eat...
These were the TS choices to play w/:
MK-Liberty Tree Tavern
Cystal Palace
Tony's
Epcot- Princess Storybook Breakfast at Restaurant Akershus
Garden Grill
DHS- Sci-Fi Diner
Misc- Raglan Road
Boatwrights Dining Hall @ POR which was changed to Maya Grill at CSR
(POR was our first choice of resort, but it was all full so we got CSR)
On the day I called to make the ressie for our room/package I also attempted to make the ADR's. Below is a page from my pre-planning notebook as I was on the phone jotting down my times and dates and confirmation numbers.
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1581.jpg
This is what we ended up w/:
Friday 3-27 at MK (Mom's b-day) at 11:30 early lunch at Liberty Tree
Tavern at CSR (Suprise meal out for my parents) Maya
Grill at 7:00 pm
Saturday 3-28 at Epcot pre-opening breakfast w/ the Princesses at
Restuarant Akershus at 8:10 am
Sunday 3-29 at DHS Sci-Fi Diner for an early lunch at 11:15 or 11:30
(my notes are fuzzy) This is my Mom's choice, we last ate here
in '93 and she really want to do this.
I also had a ADR for Wed night at Raglan Road but cancelled that in just realizing we really wouldn't need it.
My QS choices:
These are not in stone but just what I'm thinking for now
CSR- Pepper Market
Marketplace- Earl of Sandwich
Cooke's of Dublin  anyone ever eat here? we're Irish
so though this would be fun and make up for not eating at
Raglan Road
MK-Main Street Bakery
Columbia Harbor House
Pinocchio Village Haus
DHS- Studio Catering Co.
ABC Commisary (for soy milk if needed)
Backlot Express
Epcot- Tangierine Cafe in Morocco
Yorkshire County Fish Shop in England
Lotus Blossom in China
? Bakery in Norway
Liberty Inn in America
Sunshine Seasons (for soy milk if needed)
AK- Restaurantosaurus
Harambe Fruit Market

We'll have 2 QS credits remaining from my parents which we can proably use toward an extra meal for Margaret or something extra for breakfast one morning.
Food Allergies:
Now this is something new to deal w/ it still is all :confused3 and feels like a big:headache: but my youngest Margaret has had food intolerances since a newborn pretty much as soon as my breast milk came in (sorry if TMI) she has been on medication, a restricted diet for me so I could nurse her, and then restricted diets her whole life. Right before the June trip she finally was on full cow's milk and during our vacation she flared up w/ horrible rashes up and down her arms, she looked like a burn victim:sad2:
That was at age 18 mo. We took her back off cow's milk and went to soy milk w/ still have cow's dairy in forms of cheese, yogurt, ice cream etc (plus all along egg by-products I just didn't know) she has never had any peanuts or nut rpoducts to my knowledge at this point either. I still felt a few months later she was still having issues, so I took her off all dairy. and we seemed to have some improvement till the infamous night of the pecan chicken... duh!!!!
W/in 24 hours of having that she had a massive exzema flare-up and we suspected a nut allergy. OH NO! This was shorty before her 24 month well visit, she had a blood draw for common nuts and just a few so possible reaction. Next step was to take her to an allergist. Thant unfortunately didn't happen till just 3 1/2 weeks ago. (she turned 2 end of Nov.) she was skin tested w/ all common food allergens including milk and nut. But the only thing she reacted to was EGG!!!! WHAT?????? This was totally not what I was expecting. So the peanut thing was a fluke, it was proably egg in that chicken and then over the holidays of course consumption of major cookies=eggs!
It just really didn't add up for me.
So now to the past 3 weeks. I checked ingredient listings like crazy and pulled all egg items from her diet for 2 weeks. Unfortunately can't really say if there was any huge improvement as she was sick w/ a cold the whole 2 weeks:sick: then this week we've been in the re-introduce egg back in, 2-3 items a day. I was thinking oh she flare up like a tomato, but no she didn't. so I'm still :confused3 Now starting on Saturday we have to a re-introduce milk and dairy back in and see what happens before she goes back to see the doctor on the 20th of Feb. UGH! this is very time-comsuming and tough. I now have a huge sympathy for those of you out there w/ this issues.
Anyways what does this have to do w/ Disney?
well I am not convience there is no food allergy or at least some type of lactose issue and I'm not going to swarm her w/ possible sickening food options on a week of vacation.
As of now I am prepared to go that week w/ no dairy or egg unless somethin major changes from now till then.
I have done my research of whcih QS places carry soy milk or other non-dairy or egg free food choices etc. But I'll get into that moe later.
Ok so the FOOD post has exploded and I really need to get some non-Disney things done today....so sad, but it's true;)
Thanks for Reading!

Great choices for ADRs! We were going to try Sci Fi, but opted against it to go to Rainforest Cafe (OOP). It looks pretty cool though.
Back to the hoppers for a minute... we are doing a mix of hopping and non-hopping this year. We have usually taken a mid-day break and hopped. This year we'll either do a 3/4 day in ONE park OR hop. The majority of our hopping will be when DBIL & family are with us. We want to fit in all 4 parks during 3 days - plus we want to see Spectro on one of our non-MK days.
And about the DDP - I wish you could do half the week with one plan and the other half with another. A combination of the QSDP and the DDP would be PERFECT! We want TS meals, but I'm a little worried about 7 (8 including Rainforest Cafe).
We'll be doing a lot of evaluating after this trip - hopping vs. not hopping (now that we are past naps), dining plan, on-site vs. off, etc...

And one more thing...
Disney is the BEST when it comes to accommodating food allergies/intolerances. They did a fantastic job taking care of Alex on our last two trips with his gluten/dairy free diet. He ate better at Disney than he does at home. Unfortunately, he'll probably be back on the gluten/dairy free diet for our next trip - more on that when I have time to get back to my PTR with the Alex update... ;)
I don't know how they deal with children under 3 though... you may want to forget to mention that the special food you are requesting is for her since she isn't technically on the dining plan... kwim??

suspected a nut allergy
I have a nut allergy (also shellfish).....that chicken pecan dish probably would have killed me. That being said.....I used to eat nuts as a child....I had mild reactions then but now as an adult it's a whole other story. I would keep her away from all nuts, peanuts included for now no matter what the tests say. I can't help with the eggs/milk.

I'm a little worried it will be sensory overload for Michael w/ the movie screen and eating w/ hitchhikers in our car...but we'll just see how it goes. We've eaten at the RC in the mall by us a few times, if its anything like ours, a couple rooms are very loud w/ extra noises and such, I can't remember if that is a problem for either of the boys, but check that out prior to be seated...
plus we want to see Spectro on one of our non-MK days. that would have been the only reason to hop on this trip for us...too bad you can't pay to hop only once huh?
And about the DDP - I wish you could do half the week with one plan and the other half with another. A combination of the QSDP and the DDP would be PERFECT! We want TS meals, but I'm a little worried about 7 (8 including Rainforest Cafe). I like that idea too:scratchin

We loved the DDP on our first trip as well! We had never done character meals at all so it was nice to be able to do those...we probably would not have eaten at all the places we did if not for the DDP.
These were the TS choices to play w/:
MK-Liberty Tree Tavern
Cystal Palace
Tony's
Epcot- Princess Storybook Breakfast at Restaurant Akershus
Garden Grill
DHS- Sci-Fi Diner
Misc- Raglan Road
Boatwrights Dining Hall @ POR which was changed to Maya Grill at CSR
(POR was our first choice of resort, but it was all full so we got CSR)
We totally enjoyed the Sci-Fi at DHS. My boys loved the sensation of being outside and they still talk about the silly sci-fi movie clips. The food was not bad....just average, but the atmosphere was well worth it.
We did Liberty Tree when they had characters...DH was not impressed with the food. Not sure if things have changed now that the characters are no longer there.
My DH and I would LOVE to try Raglan Road. Not this trip though....we are also doing QSDP and only paying for one OOP meal. (The tips not being included in the standard DDP really tipped the scale for us.)
I SO want to do a princess meal, but that is NOT gonna fly in my house! :sad2:
My QS choices:
These are not in stone but just what I'm thinking for now
CSR- Pepper Market

Food Allergies:
I feel very blessed not to have to deal with this issue with any of my children. I can imagine it must be a struggle to keep that constantly in the back of your mind.

So on Saturday morning before DH & I got up for the day we started talking about when or how we should tell the kids about the new trip to Disney...:scratchin:
We thought about doing a Blue's Clues style game by hiding hidden mickey heads on some clues and have them figure it out.
Then we thought what about a scavenger hunt around the house leading them to the surprise.
and that's when DH says:
"I need to go to the party store and buy some balloons!"
From there he came up w/ we have a scavenger hunt and the ending would be a suitcase w/ balloons in it...you know just like the commericals!
Because my Mom was coming by on Sat w/ some V-day gifts for the kids and dinner (my Dad is out of town visiting his sister) I thought we should do it today w/ her here.
In the afternoon we came up w/ 6 Disney inspired scavenger Clues that led the kids throughout the house. Like:
Go to the room where Lumiere sang to Belle....dinning room
What room would you find Remy the happiest? ....kitchen
and the last clue was go to the room where Lilo listens to her Elvis Records....the living room
When they arrived they saw this:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1645.jpg
and they did!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1647.jpg
Inside the suitcase they saw:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1649.jpg
Mickey holding the letter from WDW inviting our family back! party:
The twins were instantly jumping up and down and screaming :yay: "Disney we're going back!"
We had Michael read the letter outload about how the MouseScrapper Family is going back in March for Grandma's Birthday Gathering! They were equally thrilled it was coming so soon and that both Grandma and Ja-Ja were coming too!
But in the midst of all the excitement Mae was not happy....:sad1:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1660.jpg
We stopped and tried to figure out what was wrong :confused3 She was sad and thought now we were not going for her birthday (like I had said before I knew about this one) next year. After several hours and a talk w/ Daddy in her room she began to come around. She was insistent she didn't want to go because she has to take showers and then to my ears utter dismay...she blurted "It's to much Disney":scared:
Oh no....could one of my kids really think that? I was worried.
But by the night and definatley the next afternoon her tune began to change :butterfly after watching the planning DVD she really became excited and learning she was to have breakfast w/ the Princesses one morning she became :yay: finally!
and today she keeps asking and saying "I can't wait to go!" "I wish it was sooner" "how many days?"
:p I'm glad that is over.
So now everyone is on board and we are excited to go! :goodvibes
Here a couple more pictures from later that night of the kids being excited to go:

What a GREAT way to tell them. I was trying to keep my trip a surprise, but my oldest son found my planning binder!!! I acted just like I didn't know what he was talking about!!! :rolleyes1 On the cover is says "First Family trip to Walt Disney World...Planning Binder". He replies, "Mom, this will not be my first trip, remember when we went when Jah was a baby?" Take a look at pre-trip report for that explaination. Needless to say...I responded by saying "please don't read things that don't belong to you." I have to do a better job at hiding things if the details are going to remain a secret!!! ;)

I laughed when you mentioned Michael wondering about the fireworks...so typical and so funny!
Awww, Mae! She's in that "sensitive phase" now, isn't she? It just took a little while for the shock to wear off....sounds like everything is okey-dokey now! :goodvibes

What a great way to surprise them - and fantastic that DH was so excited to create the fun!! Not all of our DHs are as enthusiastic about Disney... :rolleyes1
Sorry about Mae's reaction... glad she cheered up a bit. That's exactly why I want to tell the kids a couple weeks ahead vs. the morning of as DH would prefer. You never know how they are going to react. :confused3

Aldine created her own countdown w/ some sticky notes in her room by her calendar the other day too. So the fun is really beginning now!
mommytothreeboys, new2wdisneyw, KathyRN, MaryAz, the balloons were a big hit, they stayed up through Sunday! DH is generally always happy to help w/ games, suprises and stuff like that. It really was funny how he just jumped up in bed and said "I have to get balloons!";)
Amy hope you get the project done...I know what you mean about not alot of DIS time this week.... I'm triple head of the school's big end of the year school Exploremore Day and we have tons to finalize up before the end of the week and then before Spring Break, so I'm little :crazy2:

Traveling with Aspergers (high-functioning Autism) and ADHD:
Our son Michael….pirate:
Michael neither is just an Aspie or a kid w/ ADHD…nor is he a boy who loves tackle football or playing in the dirt. Michael is who he is in the Perfect Design that God planned for him, before I even knew his name.
But yes the diagnoses above or label’s are part of him, it has always been there it just wasn’t known to me, him, or the world till 2007.
That year is very significant when it comes to these boards too. It may seem like a short 2 yrs ago, but it was months of denial, pain, frustration, anger, hurting, crying, and then joys, smiles, understanding, comforting and living.
Living with Michael for who is and who he will be!
I first joined the boards when it came time to begin planning our family’s 2nd trip to WDW in the summer of 2008. Just a month previous to me joining was when I first heard the word “ASPERGERS” and ADHD in the same sentence with my son’s name.
It was a partial relief to have come this far and have that piece of the puzzle, but I wasn’t ready. I didn’t know what to do….
In the midst of trying to figure this out, the Disney boards became I place of unseen comfort, a community I didn’t know existed, and a group of friends I have yet to place my eyes on…who have “held my hand” and have helped me through it. People like KathyRN, DisMomAmy, DisMomAmy9761, and more.
Some background info on Michael. He’s going to be 10 in May, he’s in 4th grade, he’s a twin to Aldine and the trip in March will be his 3rd. Looking back since birth and more so at age 2 DH and I always worried something wasn’t quite adding up for him and it was even more apparent against his twin sister. Now they were both behind physically w/ developmental growth and Michael had some speech issues. At first Aldine was being treated for PT/OT for a serious physical delay in walking. Well Michael of course was tagging along and the therapists started to notice he was struggling too. At first it seemed so subtle but as he grew, Aldine was grasping age appropriate skills and Michael was slipping behind. Once in pre-K things became more apparent and then definitely 3 years later in 1st grade. He was first diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder…after full fledge doing everything for that, we began to see more things that weren’t being helped. Finally in 2nd grade he was seen by a developmental psychologist and then that summer (07) he was diagnosed by a psychiatrist with the above disorders. This diagnosis was a long time coming and as hard as it is, it’s good to know and understand ways we can try and help Michael learn and cope with the many things that cause hurtles in his young life.
Which brings us back to Disney…
No child with any form of Autism or on the PPD-NOS spectrum are alike and Michael is no exception unlike my Disfriends little boys (Billy & Alex) Michael is a sensory avoider. He likes things quiet, calm, in routine, tangible. He doesn’t like to wait and has a hard concept of how long something takes. Crowds make him uneasy and unexpected things can really throw him for a loop.
You may be thinking right now…”why bring a child like that, to a place that is all those things…loud, crowded, a sensory overload for even those who do not have struggles …?”
Like most stories I’ve read, somehow, someway Disney is Magic! It is that Magic these children crave on a daily basis…and help them be kids and enjoy life to the fullest.
But one must still be prepared and as my role as Mom, I am. Again for this trip I will be making Michael his own special Disney guidebook catered to his interests and needs for a trip such as this.
Things that are tough for Michael while at Disney can be:
Crowds: feeling to “tight”:crowded:
Lines and waiting: even if it’s something he wants to do, it’s extremely hard, he may just rather pass (but then feel let down) :guilty:
Noise: he’s very sensitive to loudness and if he’s just the slightest bit “off” a noise he’s even used to can really bother him:scared:
Things not going according to plan: w/ Aspergers when you have a preoccupation or thought about something and it doesn’t go according to that thought in your head….uhoh :headache:
Over stimulated: he is generally a sensory avoider, something hard to do at Disney.
Feeling “lost” overwhelmed w/ the amount of choices: hence the need for a plan!:thumbsup2
What to do? :confused3
 Utilize Disney’s accommodations for children and adults like Michael to help w/ the lines and crowds ***which went extremely well in 08
 Have a guidebook for him, allow him to help plan and navigate while we are there
:scratchin: When a need arises and he’s starting to have trouble, we’re lucky there will be 4 adults on this trip. DH & I discuss situations like this in advance so we are not mis-communicating in the moment and then make it worse for him
:cool2: Be flexible, but have a plan and routine that mimics as close to his normal home routines as possible. Like when he takes his medicines, eats, snacks, allow down time before bed, and reading or alone breaks.
:thumbsup2 Have a travel kit: that has his personal items he resorts too. i.e. his oral chewy tube, sound deafening headphones, book, crackers, pencil and notebook
I’m sure there is more and that’s why I love the boards to always get fresh new ideas.
Thanks for reading and listening and being part of what makes Disney special for me and my son!

A beautiful and true sentiment....well put! It is not an accident that Michael is who he is. He will be a blessing to you and your family in a way no other child could. :cloud9:

I was in tears at this point. How awesome to have a support system of women you may never see in person but who help you carry the burden in a special way.

This post is really moving. It's not just the beautiful resorts or the well kept parks...there really is something about Disney that makes it truly special. That "thing" may be different for each of us, but we can share in our appreciation of it just the same! God bless you and your family!

I just have to say that I've gotten most of my information about how kids with Aspergers and Autism behave (in general) from you 3 ladies. And just being aware of it helps everyone. DH had an experience in Magic Kingdom with a little boy where DH was just confused by it. After, I was able to tell him why I thought the little boy behaved the way he did, and it was like a light bulb went off for my DH in understanding what happened.

Michael sounds like he is a beautiful child - as ALL God's children are. I know that the DIS helped me out when I was having DD testing for autism last October. Her diagnosis is anxiety. Her pediatrician isn't satisfied with the diagnosis and wants to see how she will be when she begins ballet classes, more playgroups, etc.

The ALMOST 5-Week Countdown
Now like I hinted in my initial post of the PTR, I like to plan, and that planning requires lot’s of time! I don’t think I’ve ever planned a trip just over 60 days away…even before I was OCD about WDW planning:crazy2:
To some that maybe fun and exciting but to me…it’s a little crazy (ok maybe a bit exciting too who am I kidding I’m going to Disney right?)
Last night when I set aside some time to get some planning things done, I looked over my TO-DO LIST to see what I could cross off and what needed to be added. Unfortunately I added more than I crossed off:rolleyes1
So I thought over the weekend I’d try and come up w/ a weekly list of stuff that needs to get done before we leave (in the midst of my regular non-Disney life). But today when Aldine brought in the mail I got this:
MICKEY MAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

our things
So now I’m super siked to get his list rolling no time to lose…it’s only 4:30 pm DH is on his way home from work I need to make dinner (the oven is still broken) and Margaret is gated in her room…hence no house destruction (Mommytothreeboys knows what I mean and I’m not saying her boys our house destructors….) (ok I did write this then and now it's like 2 hrs later....;) )
Here’s what is left on the Master List:
* Have my DH make the arrangements for our dog Maggie (hopefully w/ his sister)
* Finish the Master Packing List
* Finish my detailed Day to Day Touring Plans
* Finish the Master Tour Guide (overall plan)
* Finish detailed Dining Options (mainly QS choices)
* Print 30 day countdown sheets (I think that day is next Tuesday the 24
th?)
* Work on & Finish Michael’s guidebook
* Pull suitcases and start packing (I do already have basically all of Margaret & Mae’s clothes pulled already and several Disney things, but there is WAY more)
* Make Mousekeeping Envelopes (the kids help w/ this)
* Make Disney Autograph book straps (ie Heidi’s design and I really should update them w/ the pic's from 08)
* Finish clothes chart and print out onto cards for each person
* Make WDW journals
* Determine a Budget and gather $
* Get everyone’s TOP 5 choices
* Online Cancel mail for the week
* Email/call to inform school the kids are missing 2 days
* Have DH make new WDW kid id cards
* Make a new MouseScrapper id tag (I found one Diser who will be at CSR the same days as me)
* Determine anything to buy and purchase (that’s another list)
* 24 hrs before leaving print SW boarding passes (please let us get group A)
* Prepare house for us being gone, give neighbors emergency #
* Continue working on the PTR, figure out any possible live posts or Twitter posts
Geez, I hope there isn’t anything else? (ok I was reading over this I added 2 more things…)
Now to business here is my plan for now…
I will post the beginning of the week on Mondays and give you my list to accomplish that week including PTR posts and then on Fridays I will list what I did get done and what is getting bumped to the following week…let’s hope nothing.
So wish me luck and if you think I forgot anything let me know…(or don’t)

Quick little update:
so on my purchase list was new Croc's for Margaret and today I detrmined Mae needed new one's too. and with my super Irish luck :shamrock: when I wnet on the Crocs site I clicked on outlet (which I didn't know that had) and found the Ariel Crocs Mae wanted 50% off and new Disney Mary jane crocs plus WTP gym style shoes both 50% off for Margaret AND I qualified for a sling bag for 50% off for Aldine...we needed to get her a new bag for her stuff for the plane and thougt she could cart some of her own stuff this time around in the parks. So :yay: for me and the kids feet!
Also last night I pulled some more things for the Disney box:
Mickey Jewerly from Aldine's and Mae's jewerly boxes (if you have it why not wear it there right?)
Kid's pin lanyards we need to go through them and pull off some of the nicer ones to keep at home
Mickey Mouse glowing head wands
Michael's pressed penny book
As well when I was out shopping I picked up some large gallon zip top baggies, and lemondae single serving mixes
This morning I also pulled out Aldine's suitcase, a duffle bag, a carryon bag for the plane (maybe need to decide on this still) and our pop-up laundry basket.
Today DH is out running errands after shoveling the fresh 6 inches of snow we got...YUCK! I am so done w/ winter! so besides some cleaning and :laundy: I hope to get some Disney trip stuff done today.
Should be back on Monday w/ my LIST and more fun!

Next weekend I plan to do up his book (I'll be away w/ girlfriends and should be able to get it all done. I have a thread about it on the disABILITIES threads, that I will update. I will post the link here then. It will show you everything I plan to help him out and maybe help you and your son in the process)
thanks for sharing and :welcome:
Thanks! I look forward to more, more, more. This is a whole new ball game for us. And I bow down before the organizational prowess here!!:worship:

I'm sooo done with winter too! We got several inches of snow last night (this is school vacation week so it didn't effect school) and we got about 4 unexpected inches last Friday morning (which did cause a school delay)! Enough already...
Can't wait to see our to do list for the week!
Can't wait to get our Mickey Mail!! We're just a few weeks behind you. :goodvibes

To Do List Report #1
For week of 2-32 (Mon.) thru 3-1 (Sun): Days to go #33-27 oh BTW I am  too...so I hope the magical lure of Disney will help get me better...
My Disney to do’s
1) Finish my detailed Day to Day Touring Plans (I have day 7-Epcot and day 8 departure left)
2) Finish Master Tour Guide: I’m creating an Excel Spreadsheet which includes each day: park hours, EMH hours, parade or show times, brief touring plan, activity options, QS & TS restaurants & meal choices
3) Print 30-day countdown sheets: With being short on time I came across a thread/site by fellow Diser BayouMickey who created generic Disney themed 30 or 21 day countdown sheets. So each of the 3 older kids picked one and I did too. I’ll print them and put them on their bedroom doors, mine will go by the computer (which basically is WDW trip planning central right now).
4) Finish possible QS dining choices: which goes hand in hand w/ the detailed touring plans. This just helps in pre-deciding some choices so your not standing there in the middle of DHS hungry and don’t know where to eat or what is close by…plus by checking the menus ahead of time I can know for sure if the places have enough choice s to please everyone…
5) Work/Finish Michael’s guidebook: I haven’t actually started it yet, but w/ my scrapbook weekend ahead of me this weekend is the prime opportunity to get in done. So before Friday I have the prep work to do.
a) talk over plan of book w/ Michael get his input
b) print maps if needed
c) get his TOP 5 choices
d) type & print his daily schedules
e) gather any materials things needed to complete it
6) Order the seatbelt attachment thing for Margaret for the plane
7) Possibly if time confirm our budget and figure out monies…
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now some actual Disney Plans that our done:
My Magic Kingdom Detailed Touring Plan
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1579.jpg
I’ve decided not to be too crazy about the touring plans this trip and have them as a GUIDE and go w/ the flow…if we don’t do everything it’s not that big of a deal…we know we are coming back! By reading about other’s experiences the plus and minuses of having a major detailed plan, I know it is a good idea to have a frame of reference, a goal in mind for that day…but you don’t want it to over take you and your family and it end up in the trash….(Kathy) plus sometimes the best intentions don’t always work out and you have to go w/ it and you never know you might be pleasantly surprised by all the little Magical things you normally miss (MRYPPNS) plus sometimes when it rains it rains and you can either freak or laugh and have a good time anyways (Amy)
So with that said…don’t be afraid to point out any crucial uh oh’s :scared: in my tour plan or give me the thumbs up :thumbsup2 for hey that looks good….
Magic Kingdom is going to be split between 2 days our 1st full day at WDW (day 2) Friday-My Mom’s birthday and day 5 (Mon).
Here’s my theory for the two:
1) we’ll have Michael’s special card
2) on day 1 of the 2 we’ll have Mom’s special Birthday FastPass!
3) The 1st tour day will be a rope drop and tour through late afternoon w/ skipping the mid-day parade
4) The 2nd tour day will be a late arrival day and stay on for Wishes at 9 pm
MK Friday 3-27 Make Mom’s Birthday Magical at the Magic Kingdom
*arrive well before rope drop so we can visit GS w/out delay and get Michael’s card and Mom’s FP
* Once in park stop in the Main Street Hat shop to get Mom’s 1st B-day surprise of her own custom MM ears
*head straight up to Fantasyland and go to Dumbo
*2 possible choices here…1) head over to Toontown and wait to visit the Fairies or stay in FL for:
*TMAoWTP
*split for SWSA & Cinderella’s Carousel
*PPF
*Take a break at Pooh’s Playful spot and have a snack
*Go to Toowntown to take the train around to Adventureland
*Split BTMRR & Frontierland Shootin Arcade
*Haunted Mansion
*early Lunch ADR at LTT (11:30)
*POC
*head over to Tomorrowland and SPLIT Space Mountain & TTA
* BLASB
*Main street shopping
MK Monday Day 5) Another Magical Day at Magic Kingdom
*arriving mid-day after shopping at the Marketplace
*head to Tomorrowland, ride the Speedway
*LFCC
* Toontown: if missed Fairies on 1st day do now, playtime in tot-lot, picture in front of Mickey House
*Ride the Mad Tea Party cups
*REPEAT any Fantasyland favorites or didn’t do on 1st day PPF, IASW
*see Mickey’s PhilharMagic possible SPLIT w/ Carousel
*Haunted Mansion
*Tom Sawyer Island (figure about 1 hr spent here)
*dine for Dinner (try to eat before/around 4:30/5:00 pm)
*POC
*ride MCoA (may need to SPLIT w/ SFRTH)
*Jungle Cruise
* REPEATS of whatever else we may want to do again—including fit in: Splash Mt & Tiki Birds
*go grab our viewing spot for Wishes (8:15 ish, try around Tomorrowland Bridge side of Castle) grab a snack/treats while waiting
*after show hang back away from crowds for a bit…maybe good idea to have Margaret’s jammies w/ us.
well that is it....
Thanks for reading as always...and I promise if I don't get back to the Dis this week to catch up on everyone's PTR/TR I will next.

OK - your touring plans look great for MK. I can usual follow along with your abreviations/initials pretty well, but you lost me on this one... MCoA is the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, right? But without dragging out a guidebook, I can't figure out SFRTH.
Your to do list is long!!! Makes me want to get my butt moving! Can't wait to see the guidebook for Michael. :thumbsup2 I really need to get started on mine. I'll start printing stuff out this week...

Just one note....You may want to have Mom make her ears at the end of Day 1 instead of trying to do it before Dumbo. Not because I think it will be busy in the hat shop but because it may take her awhile to pick it out....lots of things to choose from! While she's doing that, some/all the kids could explore the back of the expo or firehouse.

I know I'm thinking that too....but it would be so nice for her to wear her ears all-day on her b-day. I'm thinking 1) split up, or 2) DUMBO is not high priority for the twins, and if Mae chickens out again...do I dare say we may just skip it.

So hey here is my Pre-Friday to-do list CHECK-IN:
I may not get a chance to post before I leave for my weekend away so I figure I'd better do it now:
1st off thanks for the get-well wishes, I am really feeling a ton better, I am so relieved!
And for the weather resport:
Chi-town: it is a actually 60 degrees outside....but POURING RAIN!!!! hope the pump keeps a pumping!
Dis-town: 67 and partly clouding...still nicer there:)
What's been crossed off the list:
:thumbsup2 Finished Master Tour guide
:thumbsup2 Printed our 30-day countdown sheets
:thumbsup2 Ordered seat-belt thing for plane
:thumbsup2 Went over Michael's guidebook plan w/ him last night and we decided on him having his own versions of our daily touring plan maps, w/ descriptions of the rides, etc and laminated for him. He also wants his treasure hunt sheets, and an overall plan for each day. **Please NOTE more specific info I will post next week on my thread in the disABILITIES board***
:thumbsup2 I edited his plans for each day and printed them.
What's left?
Finish my detailed day to day for days 7 & 8
Create/edit touring plan maps for Michael and print
Review Michael's TOP 5
Get all my stuff together to make his book, finish the 08 WDW trip album (and begin on Aldine's Album from age 6 (yes I am 4 yrs behind....:sad2: )
I have a good feeling I should stay on task!
Have a great weekend all!

I was waiting until the books actually arrived to post this on my PTR, but I'll give you a little sneak preview over here...
I bought the boys their own guide books called "Guide to the Magic for kids" - it was mentioned in the latest allears newsletter. Check it out at www.guidetothemagic.com. I decided it would save me a lot of trouble and I ended up buying 2 because I know the boys would have a hard time sharing. It shows all of the rides and different attractions in each area of the parks. And it comes with stickers for the rides, etc.
I'll still have to do the little ring of index card about rules and different scenarios that could come up on our trip but the book seemed to cover most of the things I was looking for at the parks. I'm not sure if they will take them with us to the parks each day or not... we'll see.
It's $25.50 through allears - although it seems to be listed at that price on their website...
Since you are so crafty and scrappy I'm sure you'll still make Michael's book - but I thought I'd share the version for anyone who would prefer to buy something. ;)

Actually my friend MRYPPNS made it. She posted a link to it fro her previous PTR, just a few posts up from this. I think she made it out of a ribbon, adhesive, and velcro.
Not that I don't LOVE her idea, but I found something in my kids room the other day that will work great and I don't have to make it. My Mom found these book staps in her stuff awhile back and gave them to the kids, (I just need to see if Mae has one).
So now I'm going with these and one more thing checked off my list :yay:

Ok so here we are on Day 24....:goodvibes and  Wow it's coming Fast!
So lasts week's TO-DO List was almost all success!
The only things I didn't get to were finishing up the custom touring Maps for Michael (plus my printer ran out of ink after printing all of the pictures I needed for the weekend....) and starting to prepare & finalize a budget for this trip.
Now to this week's TO-DO list:
(for the week of March 2-8th, Days 24-19)
* Create Michael's custom touring maps & print
* Post about his book on the Dis
* Start posting the WDW 08 Scrapbook (OK I know this doesn't have to do w/ the SB09 trip, but I'm so :woohoo: about finishing it!)
* Do Budget
* Pack kids clothes in suitcases and prepare a to-buy list for them if applicable (probably :rolleyes1 )
* Get my girls' TOP 5 Choices
* Work on the Master Pack List (filling in what is packed;) )
Other stuff:
I recieved in the mail last Friday the airplane seatbelt for Margaret and in a huge box from Crocs, we got Mae and Margaret's new crocs, plus POC jibbitz for Michael and the bag for Aldine...which is a bit big on her (bummer it's almost so cool Mom would steal it for herself. But I won't) I will post some pictures of this stuff later in the week.
Thanks for reading as always!

I was inspired to look at the scrappin on Dis. It seems quite a few of you are scrappers. In the past I have always paper scrapped. But seriosly considering doing digital.
What programs do you use? What is easy to start with, and grow with. Do you print at a digital site, on your own printer.
I even tried to download disney font, it is on myself desktop. I could not figure out how to unzip the file so I could add it to my fonts.. Any suggestions?

OK to all the SCRAPBOOK WAITERS! I realized after I uplined over 150 views it would take forever to edit size and post in to a probably 5 page thread! so my new process is to post a few of my ulimate favorite layouts and then post a link to a web album of the album...get it? Just need to edit a few things on the pages and then have DH help me get it set up. Hope to finish it up and post on Saturday w/ it. I will post the link to the dis scrap thread here

I've done a little of both but mainly the traditional paper. I print half and half. I try to do all my 4 x 6 pictures and bigger online I like Shutterfly and then print 3 x 5 and wallets at home. I have a HP printer.
I even tried to download disney font, it is on myself desktop. I could not figure out how to unzip the file so I could add it to my fonts.. Any suggestions?

My Epcot Touring Plans:
So as anyone who has been there knows EPCOT is HUGE!!!!!!!! And it requires a lot of foot travel and time to see it all. I really love Epcot for everything it does offer to appeal to youngest and oldest in your group.
And I’m so lucky my kids love the Countries!
This time we are so happy to get to experience another Flower & Garden Festival, (first was in May of 05) we can’t wait to see what great and interesting Topiaries the Disney Gardeners and Imaginaers come up with!
Our Epcot Touring Plan will consist of one Full day and one ¾ day.
Our Main goals are to see as much of the Festival as possible, try the WS Kim Possible Adventure, See and experience more of the countries especially the West side, and ride Soarin and Test Track, plus see Crush…DUDE!
The first touring day will be Saturday the 28th (our Day 3)
* Dine at Restaurant Akershus-Princess Storybook Breakfast
Our ADR is for 8:10 am (So we are figuring we need to catch a Character bfast bus no later than 7:20-30 ish am)
After I sprang the surprise and gave away some details, I asked my DD’s if they want to dress up and as who? Now I had already bought the cutest little Sleeping Beauty Costume (on sale) for Margaret, figuring of course they’d say yes. Mae was all over that and has decided to wear and old Belle costume we have…BUT! Aldine (almost 10) has declined :sad1: oh man how could this young girl grow up so quickly that she doesn’t want to wear a costume anymore….I’m hoping she may change her mind before we go.
* See Soarin’
We’ll have to utilize “baby swap” again for this as I’m afraid Margaret will still be too small. But now we have a better plan.
* Kodak Labs
For those not riding the 2nd time will go over here and hang out and play till we get back
*Ride SSEI certainty hope the lines won’t be too bad…Michael is a little nervous for this one (I think because he can’t really see anything from the outside) If too long we’ll wait till the end of the day.
* Turtle Talk w/ Crush
At this point I plan to skip the Nemo clam-mobiles going in unless the wait is walk-up and just go in through the other entrance and straight up to Crush!
* Seas Pavilion
This will be a time/interest decision there if we walk around and check other things out.
*Take the West side Water Taxi up to the other side of the lake?
* Explore the Japan Pavilion
Especially take to time to walk around in the big store and the toy/robot museum (Also some time before this pint we’ll check in the KPWA kiosk and get our phone…I’m really hoping you can do this over a couple of days)
* Morocco
Look around and check out all the cool things!
* Dine at Tangierine Café’
QS meal I’d love to eat before or around 11:30 am. We’ll adjust the tour accordingly. Other food options are Harry Ransden Fish & Chips. I will most likely have to have food or get something from a different QS place for Margaret
* France
* United Kingdom
Be sure to look around here and I want to find those Mary Poppins books and possibly make a purchase
* Canada
If time allows we’ll stop here….I felt bad telling one of my BF who’s Canadian I may skip her homeland :rolleyes1
* Ride SSE if we didn’t do it yet
* Head on out, but first stop to show my DDad our LAL Tiles (from 05) Hey if anyone ever wants to find our tiles just pm and I’ll give you the location!
BTW our evening plans for this day include:
A CSR rest night
A possible Night out for DH & I hop back over to Epcot
The 2nd touring day will be Wednesday our day 7)
*Arrival time I hope to arrive at or before rope drop in that 8:30-9:00 am time frame
* Another opportunity to ride SSE (see a pattern? We have not ridden this ride since our ’98 trip and the kids have never)
* Ride Test Track
* SPILT those not riding TT will go over to Innoventions East or something F&GF (probably DMom & the little girls)
* Ride Universe of Energy
My notes-KIM the time for this and time entering queue just right so we don’t wait that long
* Scheduling in (not that I really need to but…) Take time to explore any special F&G F things in the FW side: Especially Pixie Holly Fairy Garden & Minnie’s Magnificent Butterfly Garden
* Dine at Electric Umbrella for Lunch
* Mexico & ride the Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride
* Norway: Ride Malestrom (SPLIT) and look in Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe for some good use of our Snack Credits
* Time for a mid-day break (shootin for 12:30 ish)
Either head back to CSR, Marketplace, or split up and do both (i.e. Mom, me and older girls go shopping, boys and Margaret take a nap)
* Hop back to Epcot (shootin to be back around 3:30 pm)
* Tour Innovention West and take time to get Disney’s Visa’s cardholder meet & greet picture
* Visit Italy
* Visit Germany (Note we spent quality time here in 08 so can skip if needed)
* Visit China maybe see the Reflections of China Movie and look for Mulan (if she wasn’t at the breakfast on Sat)
* Dine for dinner at Lotus Blossom Café (probably have to get some diff foods for some of the kids or try to order off adult menu for them Norway & America are close by)
* If time allows anything else?
* leave for the night we are not staying for Illuminations so we’d like to get out of the park before 8:45 pm or at latest.
That is it for EPCOT…I have pretty much everything in there, but I know we won’t have time to do all…we’ll cut or squeeze as necessary. Here’s hoping for less crowds on the 2nd day and great weather for both!
Passports ready…are we?;)
Thanks for Reading!

Do you realize that you can bulk upload to photobucket in any size that you want? 800 x 600 is the size I use as my default setting.

Wow! It seems like you have a lot crammed in there, but I'm sure with 1 3/4 days you will get most of it accomplished. :thumbsup2
What I've read about the Kim Possible thing is that you get a fastpass from somewhere (sorry can't remember at the moment) and then you report somewhere (sorry) to get your phone(s) (up to 3 per family I think it said) during your fastpass time. You are assigned a country where your mission will take place - I think you can request different countries for the different phones, but I'm not sure... When you finish your mission you can turn in your phone for another phone in a different country - I don't think you have to get a new fastpass, but I'm not sure how many missions you can get... I'm not sure if all of the countries are part of the game. From what I read (on allears) it didn't seem like you could keep the phone more than a day - but I'm just drawing that conclusion on my own. Is that what you were expecting???
I can't wait to hear about your adventure! It sounds like fun!

* Dine at Restaurant Akershus-Princess Storybook Breakfast
Our ADR is for 8:10 am
After I sprang the surprise and gave away some details, I asked my DD’s if they want to dress up and as who? .…BUT! Aldine (almost 10) has declined :sad1: oh man how could this young girl grow up so quickly that she doesn’t want to wear a costume anymore….I’m hoping she may change her mind before we go.
Oh, the girls will love the princess breakfast! Tricia was 12 when we dined here last Spring; she did not want anything to do with wearing a costume, either. But, she loved seeing the princesses and taking pictures with them, especially Belle in her ball gown, which is a rarity!
*Ride SSEI certainty hope the lines won’t be too bad…Michael is a little nervous for this one (I think because he can’t really see anything from the outside) If too long we’ll wait till the end of the day.
Perhaps a little flashlight would help with the dark parts....BUT...I think he will love the interactive games in the post-show, Project Tomorrow! Be sure to budget lots of time for this...the games are lots of fun!
* Scheduling in (not that I really need to but…) Take time to explore any special F&G F things in the FW side: Especially Pixie Holly Fairy Garden & Minnie’s Magnificent Butterfly Garden
:flower1: Yay!
Oh, it all sounds like so much fun!! :woohoo:

I wasn't sure what I was expecting I read a blog of it on the UG and was basically thinking if we had to do both sides of the countries to solve the whole mystery no way could we get it done in one day...so I was hoping you could pick up from where you left off. I'll find out soon and clue you all in!
Kathy
We have a flashlight attached to his lanyard that he can use if needed, I'll remind him. And yes the after part sounds really cool. I'll make sure to schedule in extra time! Thanks

My whole family LOVES Epcot as well. It's our favorite park and we plan on spending a lot of time enjoying it! :thumbsup2
Watching them grow up is so bittersweet. It's fun to watch them become their own little individuals, but the fact that they don't need us like they once did is both wonderful and sad!
* Seas Pavilion
This will be a time/interest decision there if we walk around and check other things out.
We rushed through here last trip. DS14 would like to spend time here so we probably will. UGH..I hate fish!!
* Morocco
Look around and check out all the cool things!
* Dine at Tangierine Café’
QS meal I’d love to eat before or around 11:30 am. We’ll adjust the tour accordingly. Other food options are Harry Ransden Fish & Chips. I will most likely have to have food or get something from a different QS place for Margaret
Our favorite country in WS and our favorite CS!!!! YAY!
The 2nd touring day will be Wednesday our day 7)
*Arrival time I hope to arrive at or before rope drop in that 8:30-9:00 am time frame
* Another opportunity to ride SSE (see a pattern? We have not ridden this ride since our ’98 trip and the kids have never)
* Ride Test Track
* SPILT those not riding TT will go over to Innoventions East or something F&GF (probably DMom & the little girls)
* Ride Universe of Energy
* Visit Italy
Looks good! Isn't it great to have a second day?? This park really needs it!
Here’s hoping for less crowds on the 2nd day and great weather for both!

Recap of week's 4 TO-DO List....
But first  and  We're at Day 20 till we leave "HOLY COW!!!!"
So what is done:
I have packed the three older kids clothes (Mae, Aldine, & Michael) in their own suitcases. Yes I used the ZIP-LOCK bags for their clothes. I packed 1 outfit for Days 2-7 w/ anticipating doing laundry at least once (MY awesome DH offered to do it late one night for me:hug: ) so we'll have a repeat outfit on Day 8).
Each bag is labled w/ the child's name, day and date. I also have a list inside each kids suitcase of what is left to pack.
Here is a picture of Mae's suitcase:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1759.jpg
It actually belonged to Aldine awhile back and she requested using it, so I thought why not :goodvibes
Oh everytime I have the camera out Margeret asks "Picture me?"
so....
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1758.jpg
I have Margaret's clothes packed as well in zip-lock's but not sealed, have to put a starting day diaper in each bag still and half to decide what piece of luggage her stuff is going in.

whoops another Margaret picture...

The Master Packing List is basically complete and has lot's highlighted as already packed :yay: I will share my CRAZY packing list later...
As well this week I have been working on Michael's custom maps, posted about his guidebook and working on getting the 08 Scrapbook ready to share, plus I prepared our spending budget for the trip (another forthcoming post).
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1763.jpg
How she'd sneek in here again?
OH and I did something that wasn't even on the list but I've been thinking abou it....I made labels for our resort mugs since they are all the same so we can keep each one straight and new labels for the twins Autograph books (have to buy news ones)
What is LEFT?
* Finish and Print Michael's Maps (bought ink at Target today)
* Work on the 08 Scrapbook post
* And go over the TOP 5 lists still
Thanks for reading Have a wonderful weekend.
Up NEXT: week 3 to-do list, My Trip Spending Budget, Grocery Service or NO?, My DHS Park Tour Plan, and maybe some more pictures of Margeret :rotfl:

I haven't had a chance to read through your entire PTR yet, but I did look at your touring plans. If I matched up your dates correctly I believe we will actually be at the same parks on three days - your Days 4, 5, and 7 (DHS, MK, and Epcot).
We will be at those parks on March 29th, March 30th, and April 1st respectively. Do those match up with your dates?

We have quite a few similarities on this trip. We also decided last minute to take this trip and didn't have a lot of time to plan. We'll be celebrating MY birthday on this trip! :goodvibes (March 30th)
My parents have traveled with us to Disney on our two previous trips, and we loved it. But, they felt they couldn't afford it this time with the economy the way it is so this will be our first time just the five of us.
Guess what?? We're eating at Sci Fi at 11:25 same day as you! :rotfl:

Yes it is a pain, I'm thankful it's under controll for now, we had another set of bad rain yesterday and we are staying dry. No my parents are good...I think just a tiny amount of seepage but after what happend last year w/ the pond overflowing the village is really on top of it now. My Mom told me they pumped down 3 feet of water to another area to keep on top of it. Whew!

THE WEEK 3 (DAYS 16-12 TILL WE LEAVE:cool1: ) TO-DO LIST IT'S SMALL THIS WEEK NOT THAT I DON'T HAVE LOTS TO DO BUT I HAVE TOO MANY OTHER THINGS GOING ON:(
* Pull, try-on, match up outfits of my clothes for the trip
:thumbsup2 did this morning (just have a few last minute clothes items to pack week of)
* Pull clothes for DH and match up outfits
* Work on PTR posts!
* Do the Garden Grocer thing or not?:confused3
* Trim up Michael's custom maps and have DH laminate them at work for me (2nd part proably next week)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok The GARDEN GROCER DEBATE
The thought of using a grocery service came into play last week when I figured out our spending budget for the trip (which I'll post the whole thing later) and when I did a line for Margaret's food needs primarily the SOY MILK!!!!
So here's the deal on SOY MILK
1) I have no actual approx cost for it, so I'm basing it on what milk would cost at QS places $1.29 she drinks a cup (little over 8 oz) of soy milk 2 x a day. And we'll be there 8 days the total possible cost of her milk alone (not including the cup in the morning flying down ) would be :teacher: $20 .64
Now for those of you unfamilar with the coast of soy milk in comparrison to regular milk that is crazy! I can buy a 32 oz carton at home that will last roughly 3.5 days for around $3.00 Which would mean for 8 days of milk I would need 2-3 cartons coating me $9.00
$21.00 or $9.00 :confused3
So that's when we starting thinking back to packing it in a suitcase...but I'm too nervous the cartons would pop! and the smaller juice box style cartons in a 3-pack basically cost the same as a large carton and I'd need 5 3-packs....
So should we buy some there, pack some?
Or should we do a Grocery service and get milk sent to us plus a few other things?
 :confused3 MY MIND IS CRAZY w/ this?????
So let me explain a few more things:
2) Where is the soy milk in WDW?
supposedly at all TS places (we are only dinning TS 3 times and not really at times she'd want or need her milk) and at 8 QS places (2 in AK, 1 in DHS, 1 in Epcot, and 4 in MK) 4 of which would be easily accessible and 2 of which I already plan to dine at...it's available but not very convinent.
3) my packing situation....
I am trying to pack lighter which is not going so well with a family of 6 and stuff for 8 days. We are flying Southwest and do not have baggage fees unless w/ exceed the 1 per person rule. So that sets us at 6 BAGS!!!!
I have 3 bags packed w/ not much room left
I have the carry-on bag with day 1) clothes needs which later becomes the souvenir bag and checked on the way home (bag 6)
and I have bag 4 pretty much packed w/ room for diapers, tolietries and hopefully DH's pillow (it is a must or no good sleeping for him)
and then bag 5) which is a soft duffle and is pretty much designated for w/ stuff already.
So where could I pack soy milk? and now I'm thinking where could I pack the misc food things I was planning on bringing anyways:confused3
4) What food was I thinking of bringing?
2 things of dry cereal (for breakfast in the room)
small bags of goldfish and teddy grahams (manily for Margaret)
some dried pineapples/raisins
some mini bagels
Crackers (like Ritz) Micheal has this thing where he MUST always eat crackers before bed
5) The Garden Grocer
Ok so I looked at their site and as far as I can tell there is no minimum order but a $12 fee (and I'm drastically running out of time to place this order if I'm going to do it.
What would we get?
Soy MILK (duh?)
yogurt
OJ
? reg milk
? 26ct diapers (help with packing)
applesauce cups
and then I could add the above items
I'm guessing that our food order w/ the fee could be around : $72.42
My Mom thinks I should just do it and some of the food they would eat too. And then I'd always have her milk in the room which basically is when she would need it, when she wakes and when she goes to bed.
So PLEASE!!!!! give me YHO's on what should I do?
this is where I'm swaying...try and get a few dried goods in the suitcases the best I can and then order the soy milk and other fresh stuff.
I'll check back in later tonight as I feel if I'm gonna do it it needs to be NOW!!!!
Thanks!

I just skimmed so I'll come back and read more, but do you think you could carry on a container of soy milk? Can you get a doctor's note? Call your airport and see what they say. If you can, I have suggestions on how to store cold food for flying.

OK - now I've read the whole thing... Did Southwest change it's baggage rules? Last year when we flew it was 2 checked bags per person - we had 6 I believe for the 4 of us and it was no problem. Plus we could each carry one on (along with a personal item). I know JetBlue is 1 checked per person - which makes me nervous...
One option for your food is to pack a box. Put the milk in there along with the other food. Maybe double bag the milk inside the box. :confused3 I packed vacuum sealed bread last time (and will have to do that again). It puffed up but didn't pop.
But honestly, if you can order your diapers, snacks and milk to have in the room I think you should go with Garden Grocer! It'll be worth the peace of mind and convenience. I would have done that in the past if I could have gotten Alex's special food - but I couldn't so we had to make it work on the plane. This year we'll have the rental car for at least two days before we check in (or the whole week) so we'll hit the store before we check in.

When we flew down this past November I took packages of Horizon milk and juice boxes in our suitcase. I put them in plastic bags, and just crossed my fingers. They were fine. I was able to get them in our suitcase no problem, was worried a little about weight, but with clothes, it was pretty light. I imagine if you brought three cartons, you could spread them out between the bags? Helping with the weight, if you were going to try it. Maybe the single serving packages would be easier to pack, but they do cost more, so then the question is if that is worth it.
I am tending towards the grocery order.. it is maybe an extra cost, but then you have it? The cereal, etc. that I brought down I took out of the boxes, and packed in the suitcases. Wrapped in plastic bags so in case they popped I didn't have an explosion of cherrios... the milk containers have to be sturdy to last all that time on the shelf, and I suspect they are airtight, so the "expansion"/"explosion" is probably pretty unlikely.

We will be using Garden Grocer for our trip in April. I did see that there is a 40.00 Minimum order when I went to pay but it looks like you would met that.

but do you think you could carry on a container of soy milk? Can you get a doctor's note? Call your airport and see what they say. If you can, I have suggestions on how to store cold food for flying.
The soy milk I buy is shelf so I don't need to worry about keeping it cold.
I belive a carton of soy milk exceeds the liquid amount restrictions. If the milk was prescription or she'd become violently ill w/ out it or I absolutely couldn't get some upon my destionation then yes on the doctores note...but none of those are they case. thanks for thinking of that
Did Southwest change it's baggage rules? Last year when we flew it was 2 checked bags per person -
I just checked their website and yes you are right it is 2 per ticketed passenger...this may open up a new possiblity but defeats my trying to pack light rule.
One option for your food is to pack a box. would you check the box then? I don't know I'd be nervous the stuff would get smashed around...
But honestly, if you can order your diapers, snacks and milk to have in the room I think you should go with Garden Grocer! It'll be worth the peace of mind and convenience.
peace of mind and convenience is the key!

that is true I didn't really think of that...I just don't know how much air space is in there?

Ok after thinking it over more and do some fuzzy GG math it seemd to be a good idea all around, plus my Mom chipped in the servive fee, tax and tip. So what I'd be spending at home to bring down there is basically the same.
So what did I order?
12 pack Dr. Pepper
2 boxes Cheerios
applesuace cups
26 count Pampers diapers
goldfish crackers, pretzels and grahams
mini bagels
1 soy yougurt
kid yogurt
1 carton OJ
6 yogurts for my Mom
and 3 cartons of soy milk
sub total $62.40
delivery $12.00
gratuity $10.00
tax $4.06
Total: $88.46
My portion: $48.77 (49)
Here's hoping it all works out!

I think you did the right thing. Just for the peace of mind that Margaret will have what she needs when she needs it is worth the extra cost. And now it's done and off the to-do list. the extra luggage is yet tbd...we'd love to manage w/ just 6. It's so confusing. We really don't want to lug our giant green rolling and chance it going over weight and paying for it (had the same issue thalast 2 Disney trips) and we don't want to buy another suitcase either. The duffle I was thinking to use as bag 5) we now realize cannot be securely locked...so I have to see what else we have or ask around to borrow something...but (did you see that coming) just about everyone I know is traveling that week too!
we'll see:confused3

My Spending Budget
I appreciate those who share their budgets because it can help you gage what is reasonable and how much you should be thinking to spend. Yes WDW is expensive but there are many ways to cut corners and try and save a little here to spend more there right?
Well as most of you know this was an unxpected suprise trip and my parents are basically taking my family down. Otherwise I don't honestly think we could afford to go back to back.
I know all the #'s for the trip and if anyone is intersted in that breakdown just let me know, this post is merely our spending $ for the actual trip.
BUDGET
* Airport Parking = approx $80.00 (for 8 days)
* Luggage Tips = up to $35.00 (if we get assitance at our home
airport, if I catch the CM bringing our luggage to our room,
and for the DME driver on the return)
* Mousekeeping = $35.00 (7 nights x $5.00)
* Table Service Meals = up to $304 (we have 3 TS ADR's and my
parents and I are splitting the meals basically 2 A & 2 C and
the tip)
TS breakdown: 1) LTT up to $68.00
2) PSB breakfast up to $76.00
3) Sci-Fi Diner up to $60.00
4) Mom and Dad's Suprise B-day Dinner @ Maya Grill up to
$100 *** I'm hoping my 2 siblings may chip in on this one as
a joint gift
* Misc food needs: 6 inch b-day celebration cake $21.00 plus
t/t (though may split this w/ my Dad or he may
pay for)
Possible kid QS meals for Margaret $12.00
* Laundry:laundy: = $10.00 (this would be enough for 2 possible loads and 3
dryers)
* Pressed Pennies = $5.20 (for a possible 20)
* Mini-golf = $41.00 (for 1 A and 3 C, have room voucher for 1 free A)
breakdown: $11.75 A, $9.75 C
* Souviners: will be recieving a $200 g/c w/ our package deal and
$75.00 we're going to pre-buy each older kid a $25
g/c at the Disney Store
* Groceries/Diapers = $49.00
* Photopass CD (pre-order) = $149.95 (I'm pre-ordering the
professional photobook as well that normally is 75 for 50
and the CD is 99 non pre-order is 130)
Grand Total is: $817.15 a little  but not :scared:
KIM this is not the actual amount I'm bringing w/ me I'm giving my Mom our portion of the 3 TS meals ahead of time, and the g/c and PhotpPass is already paid for as is the grocery order.
Thanks for reading.
Off to organzie my hubby's clothes, do a pre-estimate of how many diapers Margaret may go thru, and a few other misc things.

J-
I usually send a box down ahead of time (UPS) with dry foods and even the heavier toiletry items (like shampoo). My goal is only one checked bag per person! Just mail the box to the resort and pick it up at check in.
We've used Garden Grocer twice; the price of milk and fruit is less than picking it up on property. Plus, it saves us a side trip to the grocery store on the way in from the airport when everyone is chomping at the bit to get to WDW!
I try to think about convenience as well as cost. I think you made a good call!

Thanks for the comments on my spending budget...
after I logged off I figured out how much cash stash I had already and what I needed to withdraw next week (to give my Mom and the stuff for down there) I am so OCD that I figure out for the most part how many kinds of bills I nedd and the amounts. Plus I paper clip w/ post-it;'s the seperate tip $ and stuff so it's handy
Amy I genreally try to figure tip in the 18% and then can give more if the service was :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I use the menu's as a guide to guestimate what I think people would order and then just calculate it up.
Heidi is does add up quick...I hope we can stay in that $275 range for souvenirs...we'll see:rolleyes1
Glad I could help spure some ideas and glad you guys think it's in the reasonable range! My non-Dis friends would be like :scared1:

You think you're OCD???? Check me out.....I ration cash out by day in envelopes based on the budget and our plans for that day. I give DH $100 the first day for his wallet, then each night I bring his "bank" up to $100. I carry whatever is left over for that day and the rest stays in the safe. This way there is no way we can run out of cash. And every day's envelope has a mix of bills so we always have change for tips.
As for shopping.....I'm hearing everything is on sale.....you might end up with more because of the deals.

I did the seperate enveloped for each day last yr too...but didn't have a "bank" of money very smart....
I havn't decided yet how or what amount of $ we'll cary in the parks. I may just keep it in the room and charge back and then pay up each night...I've done that on previous trips. I don't anticipate needing much cash on hand this trip.
SALES!!!! ooh that sound fun! and dangerous:rolleyes1

“Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho it’s off to DHS we GO!”
My DHS Touring Plan
So as nu2wdisneyw said planning your day(s) at the Studios can be tricky and I agree. Last June we had a planned 1 ½ days…but it became busted between SWW, heat, crowds and weather. Figuring two of those four will not be an issue this trip, we should have better luck.
Our game plan is basically an all-day tour w/ break in the park or possible rest back at CSR. And then KIM our last day is “park tbd” and the Studios is one of 2 choices.
Here’s the Plan to Conquer and Enjoy DHS:
1) arrive hopefully before park opening and based on that possibly grab some grub for breakfast at SRC and use snack credits from the DDP
2) Obtain a FP for Toy Story Mania if necessary
3) Ride the Great Movie Ride
4) Obtain FP for RnRC for my Dad & I
5) Ride TSM
6) Go the Narnia Prince Caspian Exhibit if open
7) SPLIT ride RNRC and non-riders can look for characters or go in shops
8) See PHDL times: show times as of 3-8
22-minute shows
9:40, 10:30 & 11:20am, 12:10, 1:30, 2:20, 3:20, 4:10, 5:00 & 5:50pm
9) Dine at Sci-Fi Diner and 11:15 am (be there 11 am) **Obviously adjust above as needed AND look for Carisanboys and family.
10) Obtain FP for Star Tours for who wants to ride (not me)
11) SPILT Star Tours and non-rider look around SW area/shop maybe Jedi Training 20-minute shows
9:55, 10:50 & 11:45am, 12:40, 1:30, 2:20, 4:00 & 4:45pm
12) See MV3D possible SPLIT here as Michael is not fond of 3D movies
13) Explore HISTK play set and take an extended break, rest time
14) See LMASS times: show times as of 3-8
33-minute shows 1:20 & 4:30pm
15) Ride TSM again
16) Maybe DH take Mae and Aldine to VotLM (FP?)
17) Like to squeeze in HSM pep rally if we can for Aldine. Show times as of 3-8 are: 20-minute shows at Sorcerer Hat
10:00 & 11:00am, 12:00, 1:00, 4:30 & 5:30pm
18) Dinner time possible QS choices: Studios Catering C or Rosie’s All American Café
19) Maybe take a drop on ToT if time
20) Time to find spots for F! my waiting plan is to grab treats/snacks or leftover desserts from dinner and bring in w/ us. Have a game, books, etc to amuse the group Plan to sit near the back due to reported noise, fire, etc. We also will examine the possibility of some staying some going. The show is at 8:30 pm, figure hoping to get in theatre around 7:30/45 pm Seating begins 120 minutes prior to showtime This is what it says on Steve Soares site so is 1 hour in advance no good even if intend to sit in the back?:confused3
21) If we stay (all some) for F! after show we hope to hang back or exit w/ crowds but find a place to sit and wait for most of the crowd to exit before heading to buses.
****PLUS Make time to see the Characters we saw NONE in 08 except for FroZone and Mickey
I realize this is a pretty big list and most likely things will have to be adjusted and or cut when we are there…this really is a guide of what we’d like to see.
If we come back on the last day some possible things to do would be:
1) TSM
2) PHDL
3) B&B show show times as of 3-8: 30-minute shows
10:45am, 12:15, 1:45, 3:45 & 5:45pm
4) TGMR
5) HISTK
6) See One Man’s Dream
7) Dine for lunch ABC Commissary
Thanks for reading as always!:goodvibes

Hey there ~
I think you quoted the wrong DISer...I've never been so I have no idea what it is like to plan. I am LEARNING lots for you all!!! :confused3

Oh my goodness! I should have found your PTR sooner. Since I'll be staying the same week at CSR, and now several of our park days are going to be the same, I could have learned a lot from you.
My idea of planning is no where near yours (and I'm slightly jealous:rolleyes1 ). After reading through your thread, I have created a list of things I hadn't even thought about yet. I have a lot of admiration for "born organized" people, and you fit in that category:) .
I have had company all week, and Disney hasn't been on my radar at all. Now that it is 13 days away, I'm slightly freaking out:scared1: .
Since I work weekends, I won't be able to start anything until Monday. Maybe that is a good thing, and I'll be able to gather my thoughts.
I've really enjoyed reading about your family thus far, and am looking forward to more!

The show is at 8:30 pm, figure hoping to get in theatre around 7:30/45 pm Seating begins 120 minutes prior to showtime This is what it says on Steve Soares site so is 1 hour in advance no good even if intend to sit in the back?:confused3
Julie, I think that as long as you are planning to sit in the back/upper seats, you will be just fine getting there 45-60 minutes before the show. If you're getting there early, you may want to pack a couple of beach towels to sit on; those metal benches can be hard and uncomfy! :rolleyes1
Remember, a lot of guests automatically try to get seats as close to the "stage" (water) as possible. The seats in back tend to fill up more slowly.

That's what I was hoping...there would be no way Michael or Margaret could handle waiting any longer than that. and thanks for the tip about towels. I'm actually basing most of this plan on what I've read from you so :thumbsup2

Wow! I can't get over your planning skills!! :worship:
ID TAGS!! I have to add that to my list of things to do. I think I've said this before, but my list is getting longer, not shorter! :scared1:
Your DHS plans look optimistic! I'm doing the same thing though - it's more of a wish list and I'm expecting to miss some of the things on my list.
As far as Fantasmic - I'd shoot for closer to an hour than 45 minutes. I've read that it is pretty much full 45 minutes before the show. Can you send a few people ahead to hold the seats and then the rest of you can join them at around the 45 minute mark??

I agree with the hour ahead of time but I wouldn't split up and then try to get together. It's hard to to find people in that theater.

The plans look good. The shows are tough to work around so the day is a hard one to schedule. It looks like you've done a good job getting in the Must-Dos and you can work from there! Nice! :thumbsup2

All I can say is... :faint:
Then I'll mention that I copied much of your packing list! :worship:
DMIL is leaving for Florida on the same day!! I hadn't realized that until now. She is going down to Florida for 3 weeks! She's splitting her visit between the two coasts - visiting her mother an brother & wife on the east coast, then visiting DH's brother (the one we are visiting soon) and family on the west coast. I'm sure your path's won't cross though... she is staying clear of Orlando.
By the way... let me know how the online check-in thing works out. :confused3

My Wishes for him on this trip:
* He has a great time, the wonderful Magic of Disney works again and he is a sweet happy boy with no struggles or hardtimes because of his ADHD ad Aspergers (with that in mind...if and when something does upset him or frustrates or whatever we can all handle it w/ grace :goodvibes )
* He may be willing to try some new things and the new things he is interested in go well
* His wishes come true and he comes away w/ some special memories

Awesome post Julie! I love the pics from 2005 then 2008...how time flies!
Thanks and I know even though Michael and Aldine are both turning 10 in May he looks the most different to me...not a little boy anymore:sad1:
That is an adorable little rolling backpack for the plane.
Mae got it from m sister for Christmas she picked it up megga on sale...it's really nice.
I have to inventory our carry-on situation and see if I need to purchase anything.
I think we finally have all our bag issues situated, just need to decide what Margaret's things will be in for in the parks.:confused3
Your wishes for Michael are beautiful. He is blessed to have you for a mommy! :goodvibes
Thank you so much:goodvibes
I love that board game - I'm already looking for it online!! :thumbsup2
we recieved it as a gift or bought it several Christmases back... it's based on Disneyland, we really like it. hope you can find it.
And those pictures of Michael are adorable! It's amazing how they grow up so fast!
yes they do!
Do you need to add "cook corn beef & cabbage dinner" to your to do list?
actually I am so bad this year....we didn't have it. Normally I host both sides of our family for a full fledged Irish feast and my SIL helps w/ the cooking. There was just no way I could swing this year, time, energy and $. Oh well next year my brother's getting married right before St. Pat's that will make up for it!
Julie.....love all the old(er) pictures of Michael. I bet he'll have a wonderful vacation!
Great flasbabck pics. I hope Michael has a wonderful time. We are bringing a princess inflaible bed for our little one.
I'm sure he will! He's excited his Ja-Ja (grandfather) is coming

Yes we have that too...ooh I didn't even think of it for my list...man I have way to much Disney stuff:rolleyes1
Cutest ever "wiggle bed", I hope its comfy.
[COLOR="seagreen"]We've had it for a long time. MY DMom ordered one for Mae and one for my nephew when they were 2...it's been used many times. She seemed to sleep fairly well up a little earlier than normal from the night and nap but overall good. Hope she sleeps well there.
I see you've packed lots of wet wipes ! :rotfl:
Oh yeah you like that?:lmao: and that's just for on the plane or in the parks...I'll have another set of wipes for in the hotel room....never can have too many!

So here's yesterday's update:
* Mae & I updated 1 of her autograph books from last year (the one that still has pages in it to fill)
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1808.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1810.jpg
* I found and packed a few more misc items:
stickers for Margaret's amusement
a mini game for possible play while waiting for F! and a deck of UNO cards
a 20 Q ball (w/ fresh batteries) for line distractions
I think the other day I packed some plastic utensils for Margaret, some diapers, and pool toys too.
* I pulled out our tolietries bags and all the little bottles I have and went through our sunscreen/block to what was good or bad.
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1815.jpg
* and I added more things to my shopping list
It's coming along......
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday our Day 9) celebration was making shamrock cookies (I totally cheated w/ the pr-made kind but it still worked)

little bubbles (idea from MRYPPNS)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And in celebration of Day 8)...
the next thing I look forward to is:
Getting on board the DME bus and seeing the "welcome sign" for the 1st time (for this trip:goodvibes )
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/100_1440.jpg
from 2008
and here's a fun flashback from my 98 trip w/ my DH, BFF and her boyfriend at the time on our way to the airport
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/100_1817-1.jpg
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What I hope to get done today is:
well not much...my day is full of non-Disney things today...so maybe just get a few more things organized and go from there.
Thanks for reading,

Recap of Day 8)
I have tried yet again to do the pre-check-in thing and still no luck :headache:  but my Mom called last night and said she just did it and got it to work...siad everything is in there, showed requests of connecting rooms and ground floor.
I actually got a few things done despite my busy day
* Sorted thru my big Trip Planning Binder and pulled out importnat papers, info I will need down there
* I made a smaller Pressed Penny List for Michael to hunt for based off the large unofficial's guide list
* I put our Disney travel doc's in my purse and have the luggage tags and DME stickers w/ our luggage locks..trying to stay organized (My room & dresser is command central right now)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last night for our Day 8) celebration Mae, Margaret and Michael played:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1824.jpg
Aldine was at a church club, and DH was cleaning up in our basement still from the water damage 2 weeks ago, and I was working w/ another parent from our kids school on the school event...so it wasn't a big family affair, but no worries we have lots more fun ahead us.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In celebration of Day 7) till we go, another thing I look forward to is:
Seeing and staying at CSR for the first time...some things CSR Diser fans say not to miss are:
walk around the resort at night
visit the Lion Fountain
ride the waterslide
try the hot tub
visit Panchitos
try faijitas at the Pepper Market
sit at the tables at the Luguna bar overlooking the lake
get a massage

I tried with no luck today and yesterday to check in. I'm also nervous that our travel documents haven't arrived yet from our TA. If they don't arrive tomorrow, then I'll give her another call.:confused3
Your kids sound very excited. My DD cried all the way to church last night. She realized we would be leaving the day of her school beach party, and she will miss it. My five y.o. said, "but sissy, we will be at DISNEYWORLD". Olivia has the right idea.princess:

Congrats on having only ONE WEEK to go!! I hope that Aldine is right and the time from my 30 days flies as well! :cool1:
I love the AK photo ops...I need to figure out where to take ours this year. Maybe at the sword in front of the carousel at MK or in front of the Inside Track sign outside Test Track..I have good pics of all three boys from 2007 at those spots.
Your touring plan looks good. I like the late arrival...it will be good after a late night!
And I AM scared of Flights of Wonder! Funny bird story...we were in Wal-Mart on Monday and walking in the lawn and garden section inside the back of the store. As I was turning the corner to go down an aisle, two birds flew right at me and I screeched like a little girl!! :scared1: These were tiny little sparrow-type birds....I have serious concerns about birds of prey!!! LOL! I'll have to be brave for my boys, but I'll be shaking on the inside!!
Have you ever done mini-golf at WDW? We may consider doing it this year as we have more down time scheduled in....maybe you can give me a good review when you come back!
Looking forward to the next update! :surfweb:

"My name is............I am .....years old. I am staying at......resort. My parents are......... My dad's cell phone number is.......
For Michael's he added that "I have Aspergers Syndrome and ADHD" and on Margaret's we added "I have a severe dairy intolernace."

In Celebration of Day 7) on Thursday night, Mae and I played Disney Princess Wii while the other kids looked on when they were home or not doing homework, etc. Mae and I finally finished her 1st full game.

Here are 2 more things I am looking forward to about going back to Disney....
meeting some Disers and maybe some friends from home (we know about at least 3 families going around the same time as us)

thanks!
I found BayouMickey's thread and her countdown printables...then I looked at her saved work site, and that is where I found the LGM design w/ Tink and just loved it...and used Publisher to turn it into a tag. It's double sided and I think that ribbon was leftover from some candy from last Easter or something.
I'm really happy w/ it. I attached it to my bag.
Well off to make some popcorn and watch WALL-E.

I love your new Disboards ID tag!! It's awesome!!
Funny story... you know that DH and I went away this weekend, right? Well I told him that we should stop at a Target if we see one because there isn't one near us. We stopped and spent quite a bit of money. :headache:
Then while he was in the shower last night, I checked in on the DIS to find that you had just purchased some prefilled soap pads at Target. So I made him stop at Target again on our way home today. :rolleyes1 But I couldn't find those soap pads anywhere... what brand are they?

I love your dis tag! Too cute!
My travel documents have arrived, finally.:cool1: When I told DH to look for them on Sat., he became worried. Maybe the travel agent idea wasn't so good after all.
Have you been able to check in yet? I have had no luck with MULTIPLE attempts.
My itineraries are reshaping (again:rolleyes1). Disney added spectro shows for next week, and I've been trying to adjust some of my ADR's. I'm not sure we want to do Tusker House for breakfast on a day we aren't going to be at AK. Seems like a waste of a morning, but I can't get into anywhere else.
I can't wait to spend Thursday evening by the pool!

Please note....I wrote this all yesterday 3-22
UGH! How can the boards be down for upgrades w/ only 4 days to go….I have so much left to share and so little time….
Well hopefully they soon will be up and running and in the meantime I’ll type it up now and have it ready to go.
Day 4) to go…where has this last week gone?
1st off where am I in regard to the big To-Do List…GREAT! I revised the list down to the last minute stuff (and yes of course I added a few things to make sure I didn’t forget)
Withdraw our remaining spending $ needs and divvy up accordingly
Buy Disney gift cards for the 3 older kids
Pack misc clothing items (after finishing laundry)
Get out hair clips/ties for the girls
Put together Aldine's carry-on bag
Change from my Mickey purse to the VB backsack for the trip
Pack kids cd players
Charge up the Leapsters and then pack 1 base & cord (put fresh batteries in Mae’s)
Haircuts
Pack our Trip journals (DH to bind at work on Monday)
Check weather for Thursday hear/week in Orlando
Print boarding passes
Give emergency #’s to neighbor
Get house straightened up and prepared for week gone
Put on luggage tags, DME tags, and locks on luggage/carry-on’s as needed
Put together mousekeeping envelopes
Try that pre-check-in again….
And if time allows decorate our pressed penny $ holder and my daily journal with Mickey scrap paper
Ok I think that covers it…..
Now for our Day 5) Celebration we did watch WALL-E and I made popcorn…we had a fun time snuggling up together in our basement to watch it. (sorry no pic’s to share this time)
In honor of Day 4) till we go another thing I am looking forward to is
Having fun & sharing my Mom’s Birthday with her and the surprises we have in store for her.
Here is a couple pic’s of my Mom on some previous Disney trips:

1984/5
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/Scan10006.jpg
And because the actual b-day room decorating was a bit too pricey I bought my own stuff
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1914.jpg
For only $14 and plan to decorate her room when her and my Dad are out to dinner on her b-day (surprise) I just hope Mousekeeping won’t be mad?

I have to agree that the boards being down all day was a total downer!!
How special to be able to celebrate with your mom. I LOVE the throwback pictures! I think it's a great idea to decorate the room yourself..why spend all that money for someone else to do it? You will add that special loving touch that someone else couldn't...good for you!
Good luck with the last minute prep! I know how that goes! I'm so excited for you!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Aldine’s TOP 5!
1) BTMRR
2) Splash Mountain
3) the tea-cups
4) KS (safari)
5) Kim Possible World Adventure (in her words “go around the world in 2 days”)
Oh and possibly get a haircut at the Main Street Barber Shop….originally on Sat I had appt’s for all 3 girls, but at the same time was Michael’s Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts. I tried to push the time back as far as I could and just miss a little of it. But then he made it into the top 24 cars (out of 36) and then I called and was able to re-schedule a morning appt for Mae & Margaret on Tuesday (Aldine will be in school and her hair is the least in need of the cut anyways) but she get’s in her cleaver sneaky head about asking about a haircut at WDW…so we’ll see. And BTW Michael and his super rocket car came in 3rd place!
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/WDW%20SB09/100_1912.jpg
My Wishes for Aldine….
She gets along w/ her siblings especially Mae (as anyone who has a younger sibling in particular a sister the “claws” can come out) Just want them to have fun and enjoy this trip together.
It would be so fun to have another opportunity for another “Mommy/Daughter Time” like the last minute just the 2 of us to MK at night. Even just hanging out maybe in a hammock at CSR would be special…
Enjoys taking one of her mini American Girl dolls along for the trip. I’m letting her take one w/ as a special privilege and then she wants to take pictures and do up a little scrapbook all about it. She wanted to take one since she saw KathyRN’s daughter take hers (and probably before that). I don’t want to deal w/ the big 18” doll but a little 6 ½ “ doll is manageable. She has 4 of them and at first thought I meant she could take all 4 but um no….she has yet to decide which doll she’s going to take. It should be fun!
Here are some pictures of her from the last 2 trips.

Mae’s TOP 5!
1) “the famous Movie ride” w/ Grandma
2) TSM
3) make another Mask in Epcot, but says she doesn’t need the tags again
4) eating
5) meet Jasmine
My Wishes for Mae…
She enjoys all the rides and attractions…sometimes she get’s a bit nervous (like last year freaking out before getting on PPF)
Has fun dressing up like Belle for our Princess breakfast (and I hope the real Belle is there)
Keeps us with us all and doesn’t tire out too much w/ the walking
Has a wonderful time and the magic of Disney shines thru her sweet heart.
Here are some pictures from the last 2 trips.

This is actually after we got home from Disney, my MIL bought her this outfit in China.
Margaret’s Wishes
Now since she’s only 2 ( 28 months) and can’t really tell me what she’s looking forward to I can only guess…
I’m looking forward to and hoping she’s more interactive this trip and recognizes more characters. She loves Minnie and knows most of the Princesses.
I hope she may go up to some of the characters and take pictures.
In regard to her food intolerances and eczema that we can keep them under control and she stays comfortable and healthy during the trip.
She sleeps well in her little Wiggle Bed.

Ok all this is a quickie
Last night in honor of our Day 4) till we go we played Disney Wii Think Fast Trivia Game and Adline won!
Today the only real Disney things I accomplised was posting what I hoped to post yeaterday and then catch-up for today...plus I helped Michael pack his carry-on bag before school this morning.
Hope tonight after kids are in bed I can get a few misc things done and finished up.
Oh and yesterday DH made some "holding straps" (via idea from MRYPPNS) from some old cup straps we had for Margaret's cup and Minnie plush (this plush is actually not her favorite favorite....but she'll travel to the parks w/ us and on the plane. Her fav Minnie will stay in the resort room.

I know I can't believe it about Spectro...many thanks to IndianaJ I wouldn't have known till we got down there and then I would have been excited but :eek:need to adjust the Tour Plans....but I am very proud of myself...the maps are done and packed and I haven't pulled them back out to ponder what changes we could make. I think (dare I say it) ...wing it ;)
thinking try and stay at MK an extra hour on Friday to squeeze in 2 things from the Monday list and maybe drop 1 or 2 others to accomadate finding a parking spot while we wait for Spectro to begin.
Yes the doll is a very nice Mommy gesture. and I think she is very excited. She has an AG scrapbook and comments she doesn't really take her dolls many places so how can she scrap about them...well now here's her chance. And she's going to take Josefina. She has an 18" Josefina too and that is who she'd want to take.
Kathy...bonus w/ the 6" no need for anything extra just the doll and a protective "rain poncho" (zip-loc bag)

FIRST THANKS FOR THE EARLY MORNING WAKE-UP DANCE AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2
WELL IT IS HERE THE LAST DAY BEFORE WE LEAVE....I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT....well I guess I can :rolleyes1
SO FOR A RECAP OF THE LAST COUPLE DAYS:
IN CELEBRATION OF OUR DAY 3) TILL WE LEAVE, I PULLED OUT THE 2005 DISNEY WORLD VACATION SCRAP ALBUM AND MAE AND I ENJOYED LOOKING THRU IT TOGETHER
SHE LIKED HOW HER "BLANKIE" WAS IN A PICTURE...I SAID YES IT SURE LOOKED A LOT NICER THAN. AND SHE SAYS SHE REMEBERS THAT THE TTA (OR AS WE LIKE TO CALL IT "THE WE-WAY PEOPLE MOVER" WAS HER FAVORITE RIDE AND STILL IS.
YESTERDAY DAY 2) I WAS ABLE TO CHECK SEVERAL THINGS OFF MY TO-DO LIST...BUT OF COURSE ADDED LIKE THE SAME AMOUNT ON AS I CROSSED OFF DOESN'T THAT ALWAYS HAPPEN
LAST NIGHT I ALSO READ A COUPLE DISNEY STORIES W/ MAE AS THE TWINS FINSIHED UP HOMEWORK. AND A FUNNY STORY, IN THE CAR MAE ASKED ME WHAT WAS THE FIRST THING WE ARE GOING TO DO WHEN WE GET THERE ?
I REPLIED WELL GO TO OUR HOTEL
SHE THEN ASKS WELL WHAT WILL WE DO THERE ?
I REPLIED WLK AROUND, THERE IS A PLAYGROUND AND A POOL WE MAY GO SWIMMING.
SHE THEN ASKS WHAT ABOUT ARE ROOM ?
I REPLIED OH YES WHEN THE ROOM IS READY WE'LL GO THERE TOO....
FINALLY SHE ASKS WHAT ABOUT EATING ?
I REPLIED WE'LL EAT LUNCH WHEN WE GET THERE TOO AT A RESTURANT CALLED THE PEPPER MART
MAE BECOMES REAL QUIET AND THEN ASKS CAN WE BRING SOME FOOD FROM HOME ?
I ASK WHY ? THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF FOOD THERE.
MAE SAYS BUT I DON'T LIKE PEPPERS :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
NOW TO TODAY THE LAST DAY TO GET EVERYTHING READY....WHAT'S ON THE LIST.
WELL BETWEEN MY NORMAL WED. THINGS, I NEED TO
* CHARGE OUR CAMERA
* GET SOME DVD'S TOGETHER FOR THE PLANE
* PRINT OUR BOARDING PASSES (IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES)
* GIVE OUR NEIGHBOR OUR EMERGENCY #'S
* PUT ON THE DME TAGS AND LOCKS
* GET OUT MEDICINES
* FINAL HOME PREP'S
* PACK SOME SWEATPANTS FOR MARGARET
* COUPLE LAST MINUTE PACKING THINGS
* MAKE MUFFINS FOR BREAKFAST AT THE AIRPORT TOMORROW
WELL I HOPE TO CHECK-IN LATER TONIGHT & MAYBE FIRST THING TOMORROW BEFORE WE LEAVE....
AND THE LAST 2 THINGS I LOOK FORWARD TO AT WDW ARE:
* WATCHING MARGARET & MAE WALKING THRU EPCOT IN THEIR COSTUMES
* ENJOYING ALL THE MAGIC IN EVERYTHING!!!!!!

I almost forgot about our boarding passes this morning at 6:45. I remembered at 6:55, and we got B1-4. I hope we can sit two and two.
I'm packed and ready to go. The dog is off to Grandma's house, the fish has found a new home for a week, and the girls are off to school.
I hope I remembered everything. I feel like I packed the WHOLE house.:rotfl2:
How many carry on's do you have? I have my bag, a small cross body for Brandy, and a backpack for the girls. Surely that will be ok. We are taking two umbrella MaClarens for the girls. My seven year old is a HUGE walking wimp, and I figured with the crowds and heat, I shouldn't push her.
All right, I should stop obsessing and relax.:rotfl: Less than one more day.:cloud9:

Do you have your group A boarding passes in hand? I just checked in my MIL for her flight tomorrow and I thought of you as the passes were printing! ;)
Yes did it at like 8:41 am yesterday and we got Group A :yay: 41-48
I am SO excited for you!! You leave tomorrow!
I know what you mean about the list. Mine always seems to get longer as I get closer to a trip...how does that work?
So cute about Mae not liking peppers...that sounds like something my Jonah would say! LOL!
I can't wait to hear about your trip and see pictures of your beautiful family enjoying WDW. It will give me something to do while I pass the last few days till my trip!
Julie in case I miss you before you leave......have a safe and wonderful vacation! I'll be thinking of you this coming week.
Can't wait to see you there! WooHoo!!!:cheer2:
The little girls have a shared backpack (the pink one I posted about), Michael & Aldine each have one, I have my backsack, DH has his laptop bag, we have one med duffle w/ shorts, swimsuits, med's, etc and then I'm walking in w/ a paper bag w/ muffins and napkins and then a tiny cooler bag, w/ a toddler meal, vegan cheese and a cup of soymilk for Margaret going home we'll check the duffle and I have a large tote folded in one of our suitcases for souvenir overflow on the way home. and our large stroller for Margeret which we like never use anymore, but when I took it out of the closet yesterday, she was so excited "that's mine!"
All right, I should stop obsessing and relax.:rotfl: Less than one more day.:cloud9:
