Does anybody ever go to this show? I've read lots of trip reports and nobody mentions it. We used to have a dueling pianos club around here but it went under. I LOVED to go! It was great entertainment even though they got really raunchy sometimes I'm sure it doesn't get like that on the Disney Boat.

Anyhow, has anybody seen this show on the Wonder? Is it any good? Are the family show and the adult show much different from each other?

Thanks for the feedback!

I went to it on the magic. It was a decent show! I have heard all good things about it. I think we needed a bigger crowd the night I was there. They play the Piano "fantastic".

Last year I caught the Dueling Pianos show on the Magic several times, the early show and late show. They change the show slightly for the adult crowd in the evening. The male/female performers were well versed in hundreds of songs, and even had a book to look at when someone threw a tough one at them. It was a great time. The tropical drinks in hand made it even better!!

On our cruise the early show with the dueling pianos was a family show. They put the kids on the stage and sang the Chicken Dance, Head-N-Shoulders-Knees & Toes, etc. I thought it was great. The later show was more adult oriented.

On the 3/23/02 Disney Magic cruise, Dino & Greg from London -- "the British Boogie Boys" -- put on highly entertaining dueling pianos shows in the Off Beat Club. Their audience interaction was lots of fun, and their musical skills were terrific. We went to two of their adult shows and one of their family shows.

I see that the Navigators from the 5/11/02 Disney Magic cruise ( http://www.dcltribute.com/navigators/west_carib/ ) now show "Fidelio & Carl" as the dueling pianos performers in the Off Beat Club.

I wonder Fidelio & Carl are as good as Dino & Greg?

Have not been on the cruise yet, but for anyone who loves dueling pianos, do not miss Jelly Rolls at the Boardwalk! Adults only though, but never raunchy. They usually have two sets of players, so there is never a break, they just keep going and going.....

We went once on the 11 May Magic. It was Fidelio and Carl. They were good piano players. They did have the kids do wheels on the bus and a couple of other things. It was a pretty small crowd, and no one truly got into it. I didn't think it was good enough to go back. We enjoyed the Rockin Bar D shows a WHOLE LOT more.

Saw it on the Wonder, great Family show. It is dependant on the crowd and the more the crowd got into it the more the performers went at it... Sorry did not see the adult portion... If you are going on the Wonder, don't miss it!!!

We went to the show on the Wonder in April. We did the family show, it was good and involved the kids in the songs. The show lasts only about an hour and then we went to Disney Dreams in the theater. It is a good thing to do after dinner.
If you are a fan of dueling piano shows, you must go to JellyRolls at the Boardwalk. A great time!!

We went to this almost each night of our 4 day honeymoon cruise last June. LOVED IT. We threw the request for "White Wedding" up there and they didnt' know it, but you couldn't tell that when they played it. We laughed the whole time, and are planning to return in a few weeks on the 6/6 Wonder cruise. :)

Try to go! You'll love it!

Two entertainers sit at opposing pianos playing various routine and requested songs. They ask for and get audience participation, dancing, etc. It is a great show, the performers are top notch and it is an enjoyable way to unwind. There is beverage service there too (wink*). It is a must see....

Two singer/ players face each other across two pianos. Folks request songs (for tips) to see if either player can remember words/tunes. Each pair often has a routine of songs that nearly always get requested, then they harmonize and play four hands. Add a whole lot of banter, bad jokes and stupid dance routines for the audience and there you have it.

You know you have the cruising bug when throughout the year, you keep a list of songs you think will be nice to hear at Dueling Piano's for your next cruise. My favorite song for our upcoming January cruise will be:

"A Thousand Miles", by Vanessa Carlton

I think they can do a nice job with that song. I just hope they have a female vocal. One of each is always nice.

WE WERE ON THE MAGIC APRIL 27TH, AND GOT TO KNOW CARL & FIDELIO VERY WELL. IF SOMEONE IS GOING SOON ON THE MAGIC CAN THEY PLEASE ASK FIDELIO TO PLAY"HITCHCOCK RAILWAY" BY JOE COCKER. IT IS AN INSIDE JOKE. YOU CAN THEN TELL HIM THAT HARRY FROM NY SAID HI! ALSO, PLEASE PASS ON TO CARL THAT THE NEW YORK GANG SAID WISH THEY WERE THERE & HI. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

We went to Duelling Pianos on our cruise starting 09/22/01, the first 7-day-cruise after 9-11 and it was so great!!! The last half hour our the musicians played the American Anthem, You're a Grand Old Flag, America the Beautiful, etc. and it was so pathetic - Especially for us Germans as in our country openly displayed patriotism ist still frowned upon due to the dreadful part of our history from 1933-1945.
We're looking forward to see -and participate in - the show again on our next cruise.

I love Jellyrolls and I love DCL.

The problem with the Dueling Pianos on the ship is that the sets are too short. Just when people get into it, its over.

I think the comedy club concept was much better on the ships.

Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk is non-stop.

One week to go....

I had a great time at the dueling pianos in off beat. I am 20 and dont even know most of the songs they are playing, but i went at least for a little while every night (except the night they had off). I just go back from 7 nights on the Magic (Aug. 3) and it was Fidelio and Carl. I thought they were great. Carl only had one more week before he got off, so I dont know who will be replacing him. He said said he was coming to Oregon and Reno and places in the West, so I was hoping to try to figure out where he was playing, but I didnt ever find out his full name. :(
Anyone else know?

Thanks and have fun!

The Dueling Pianos are the best. We have been on 3 cruises and they get better every time. This past June 22 cruise we ended up being from the same town as one of the piano players. He actually had a cousin that lived next door to my SIL and it was more fun than ever as he did lots of funny stuff that pertained to where we lived. They played extra long as we were a great crowd and they didn't want to stop playing as much as we didn't want them to stop playing. Go for the Dueling Pianos at least a couple of times on your trip, you will be very happy you went.

We were on the 6-22 also although we never got to meet Roberta and Ralph.
Fidelio and Carl played and we ended almost every evening listening to the adult version of dueling pianos (when they close the doors-look out!!) There was good audience participation most nights which was alot of fun. Warning: if you are easily offended or expect Disney showtoons(the real ones) during the adult sets, don't go.
We had a blast!

I saw Dueling Pianos onboard the Wonder in Sept 2000 and again in Oct 2001. I can't remember the name of the 2 men but they were great. Once we discovered the show we went every night for the late showing. We loved it. We loved the "adult" songs. Each night someone (not always me ;) ) would request the Gang Bang song and they would explain that it was kinda raunchy and if anyone had a problem with it to speak now and they wouldn't sing it. No one ever said they had a problem with it yet once or twice someone would go and complain and they wouldn't be able to sing it for the rest of the cruise. I hate hypocrites! I'm sure they don't allow that song any longer and I hate it that a few people can ruin it for the rest of us. They should've just went to the earlier show with the rest of the kiddies.
