I know it's a ways off, but we couldn't help ourselves. We are headed down the week after their Thanksgiving. We were down 2 weeks before Christmas this last December. Got really home sick...perhaps too close to Christmas? My parents are coming along this time too :) YAY!
Staying at the Contemporary-Dlx dp-Limos to and from the airport. No, we aren't rich, we are starting to save already! I figured it out (budget freak here, nice to meet you) divided it all up by how many pays between now and then. So excited!!

We had contemplated that week as well as I heard the crowds were lesser. But I need the Christmas decorations!! :)

Absolutely!! I will be the one waving back ;) lol! We were close going with WL with the club lvl. Seems like a great deal. But I love the CR, and we would like our own room for our own down time. I think my folks need time away from our kids too...I know they love them, but they do tire one down. ;)
Count me in!
YAY!! :)

I know the feeling, we're going Dec 20-27 and staying at the CBR. I think the ADRs can only be made 90 days out now? Used to be 180 days, I believe. I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong.
Been checking for flights from Edmonton (YEG) but prices have been "Soarin'" lately but it's still way early. However, having said that United is showing the lowest fare for our dates ($853 pp) that I have seen in awhile, so there's still hope. Westjest (pun intended) is about $4500 for the four of us for any decent times! Sure wish we had a US airport near us!;)

Ugh, thats rough! We are in NB, and we drive 7 hrs just to get a good price in airfare. Last year, it was around $800 US for all 4 of us. SO now with the exchange rate, thats about $1020 CA now. BAH! The dollar! But for 4, thats still really good. Even with the driving and parking. A cheap rate out of town here for airfare is about $650 per person. We have 4. So... still cheaper to drive to Maine. But, we flew Air Tran last time from Portland, Bangor is 2 hours closer and Im just finding out Alligiant (sp?) air flies out of there and offers some good prices. But these domestic airlines aren't posting their airfares until 6 months in advance. I still have 2.5 months. :(
Ok, was just talking to DW res, just to see if I have anything attached to my name in regards to discounts. Nothing, but she said USUALLY these things come out about 3 months ahead of time. SO, Aug/SEpt? And yes, ADR are 90 days out. SO very end of Aug for me. I will be on the phn exactly 90 days out! lol

We received a 40% pin so we have booked December 2-6 staying at CBR with dining. We then are moving to a condo for the following week. I was able to book three air fares with airmiles from Thunder Bay so instead of paying $2870 we are only paying $543. I am hoping the weather will be nice.
Dec 15-22 at FQ or POR. Just waiting for a deal to pop up for a package or room only and for flights from winnipeg.

I wonder if WestJet will be running its nonstop flights from Winnipeg next winter? An Edmonton-Winnipeg-Orlando connection wouldn't be too bad for us. The nonstop through Calgary is expensive and I doubt if it would ever go on sale.

My DH works for West Jet, and as a manager, he is told about route schedules earlier than they are released to the public. I will post as soon as the Winter Orlando flights are announced, hopefully they add more direct flights!

Ooooohhhhh, insider information! But seriously, thanks so much, I'll be looking forward to that.
Our family does love WJ (as all proud Albertans should) and we fly with them whenever possible. The problem is their only reasonable flight to MCO for us is the nonstop from Calgary because we don't do well with the red-eye flights through Toronto with 4 hour layovers.:scared1: Now, if we had a nonstop from Edmonton or connection flights through Winnipeg so we had more choices, that would be great.:thumbsup2
I'm not a big fan of United, but will use them to save a couple of thousand dollars on our flights to MCO.:guilty:

I have a question about that pin. I really want one, but I get to thinking, is the 40% on room only? We want the tickets and the Din Plan.
Just thought I'd ask.
I wish we could get some great flights out of halifax or even better, Moncton (NB) We live about 3 min drive to the airport. But it's SO much cheaper to fly out of Portland. (and hoping for Bangor)

yes our 40% pin was for room only. I am keeping my eye out for FD for our time period as I think it may give a better discount.

So with room only does that mean you can't get the dp? and would have to get park tickets seperately? We are goingg to be staying at Contemporary, so I would think that any room discount would be the best savings right?

I was lucky enough to get the 40% off email back in October when the first wave of discounts was sent out. It is room only, BUT you can make it into a package with tix and dining plan. You will still pay regular price for tickets and dining plan portion of the package, but your room rate is 40% off. This made our nightly rate for WL only $144 a night plus tax, which is a great savings (standard room, we saved about $100 per night). I was able to book two separate rooms with this, one for us and one for my parents.
As for FD being a better deal than 40% off....it depends where you stay and how many people in your party. Basically, I think FD is a better deal if you are at Values, but it comes out to almost the same thing if you are staying at a deluxe.

We have toyed with the idea of going the week before Thanksgiving. I hear the crowds are lighter... doesn't mean that they don't exsist, but the week after Thanksgiving there are Christmas decorations and such. I've only been the one time, with the decorations. My parents first time, and Im really fond of the DIsney Decorations. Just adds so much I find. Kids love it too. BUT I cant stop thinking about the week before... Im stuck. lol

I'm debating going the exact same dates. Did you get the 40% PIN? If I want to do it I'll have to book ASAP....if anything is still available.

I was just on Air Tran's website and they already have rates for mid NOV. Im a week too early it seems for the dates we are travelling, but YAY! I can get a rate of $84 each way per seat out of Portland! ( every week before we leave, so assumably the dates we are going as well!!)

I was lucky to get the 40% pin...and standard rooms. Hoping for an upgrade at check-in (my parents first trip ever and their first vacation with DD) - but we'll be happy with the standard rooms if that's what we end up with. We've only been to WDW once before, in Aug for free dining, and we are really looking forward to milder temperatures and all the Christmas decorations.
I have a feeling with this economy, they might release some other really good discounts later in the year, if they see that they are still underbooked. So you can still be lucky! Keep checking your emails.

I didn't mention that I did get that 40% PIN as well. I just haven't booked anything or even called to enquire. It's the first PIN that I have received and I feel like I MUST use it :rolleyes1 DH doesn't care one way or the other but he really enjoyed FD in 2007. If that were to come back I think he might feel a little different.
