Can anyone tell me anything about Double tree guest suites in Downtown Disney? I'm booked there in November.
Thanks

Welcome to the DIS!

I'm going to move this post over to the Orlando Hotel and Attractions board where you will get good info for hotels that are not Disney owned!

The last time i stayed there which I think was a bit over a year ago, I felt it was a bit run down. Not comparable to most Doubletree suites. I heard they are renovating some of the rooms. But usually for the same price you can stay at Embassy suites or Homewood suites on Palm Pkwy. which is maybe another 5 minutes away. They are much nicer & include breakfast 7 happy hour.

I see you were scheduled for November. How was your stay? We have reservations at the Double Tree for 2003 and I have plenty of time to cancel if I need to. What do you recommend? Our family is 2 adults and 4 children so I wanted a suite that will accommodate all of us instead of having to book 2 rooms (which I would have to do at any of the Disney Hotels).

heart4dis:

You may want to take a look at the Residence inn Lake Buena Vista on Palm Parkway. It's about 5 minutes away from the parks and they have two bedroom/two bathroom suites. The suites also have a small kitchen with a full size fridge and stove. You also get a free breakfast buffet in the morning with eggs, waffles sausage and assorted pastries, fruit and cereal. We stayed there last December and thought it was great. Got a good price from orlandodiscountrooms.com

Thanks for the tip. I take it the Double Tree wasn't up to expectations. I'll check it out.
