So, what restaurant do you think you get the most from using your TS credit?

Monetary value wise I would say the Mama Melrose Fantasmic Dinner pkg.
It is only 1 T.S. credit and even on the basic ddp you get an appy. Plus, entree, dessert, drink, & seats to that nights show... but it is tough to get

I agree!:thumbsup2

In this case, Ohana's and Le Cellier!:thumbsup2

In terms of getting the best value, I would say Princess Storybook Dining in Norway. The food is not the best, but we like the idea that we are able to see 5 Princesses in one restaurant!:)

So, what restaurant do you think you get the most from using your TS credit?

Depends on your definition of "most".

I'm assuming you mean the most expensive meal you can get for 1TS. If that's what you mean, I think its Tutto Italia

Tagliatta di Manzo (Steak) $36
Double Espresso or Cappacino $5.95
Coppeta Sotto Bosco (berries, cream, chocolate) $14.00

Total $55.95

DIS CHALANGE: Can anyone out there find a more expensive combo for Entree, Dessert and non-alcoholic drink than I have?????

And I must agree with another poster that the best meal is what you enjoy, and may not necessary be the "most" value. I happen to be lucky, because I enjoy eating the "expensive" stuff.

When I ate at Tutto in September, I had wine (obvioulsy OOP) the Tagliatta, and a Cappacino and Tirimisu (instead of the Copetta) for dessert which is $9. My TS credit covered $50.95 of the bill.

This meal was my second favorite of my trip. The first being Le Cellier. At Le Celier it was:
Wine (OOP)
Cheddar Cheese soup (OOP)
Filet Mignon ($34.99 and I substituted the cream cheese potatoes :thumbsup2 for the mushroom risotto)
Maple Creme Brulee ($6.99)
Cappacino ($5.95)

TS credit covered $47.93 of the bill.

I just love a good challenge :upsidedow
Although I had to look around.... and I may have cheated:scratchin
Not sure if Flying Fish is on the plan, but I got this off the menus.

Char Crusted New York Strip Steak - Rhapini, Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, and Classic Sauce Foyot $42.00

Warm Chocolate-Peanut Butter Bread Pudding- dark chocolate gelato, banana brittle, brulée bananas, and sauce mosaic $8.00

Not sure how much the coffee/drinks are.

Flying Fish is on DDP, but it is "signature dining" and takes 2TS. So it's not as good a deal as the Tutto example which is 1TS.

I've read that using 2TS for any dinner isn't the best use of the credits, but if you like it the meal or location (i.e. California Grill during Wishes) then go for it!:thumbsup2

And to OP, sorry for "highjacking" the thread by throwing a challange out there to fellow DIS'ers. But I think it will serve you well if we can find the most expensive TS dinners on DDP.:goodvibes

See you're leaving in 4 days. Have a great time!!!:cool1:

I also see you're from the Cape. I'm from Falmouth originally (FHS '88) and my family is all pretty much still on the rock.

I did book Momma Melrose minus the Fantasmic pkg. Because we would have to eat real early as that is all they have left with the pkg. I just thought we would probably still be at our resort pool or just getting out of it at that time.

Do you think I will have any problems getting a seat at Fantasmic without the pkg? Or should I call back and try and book the pkg?

Any advice about seating at fantasmic would be nice.

Keep the pkg the seating is worth it. Also since you are on the Basic DP you get an appetizer with the pkg, you wouldn't otherwise.

You know your schedule ahead of time, just plan accordingly. Keep in mind pool time is also an option before bed. :thumbsup2 We did Fantasmic, EMH at DHS and still had time for a snack and dip back at the resort that day.

Is there something different about eating at Mama's on the DP than at other restaurants? You're saying we get an app. on the plan at Mama's.. I thought apps weren't included, just dessert. Does Mama's have a special deal that does include apps and dessert and entree & drink? It's one of my favorite places to eat anyway and this would make it even better!

The Fantasmic Dinner Package includes Appetizer, Entree, Dessert and a Drink.

A regular meal at Mama Melrose does not include the Appetizer.

LeCellier is a good deal on the dining plan:

Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce $34.99

Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake - finished with Honey-Thyme Anglaise and a Chocolate-Vanilla Walnut Sauce $7.99

Not sure about the beverage, but probably around $2-$3 for a soda.

as other posters have said, yes you get an appy with the fantasmic dinner package even with the ddp.

If anyone is lucky enough to score it..... go for it:thumbsup2
I find it much easier than trying to get seats for the show without the package...
in the past it wasn't too bad because they had the show every night, but now with the show only being a couple of times a week (depending when you are traveling) I think H.S. is going to be busier on those days (because of those that don't have a hopper) and the show would likely be harder to get a seat at.

I find it very tough to get the pkg. now that fantasmic is not every night....
I tried very hard to get a reservation back in October for this trip (we leave Thursday) and its been sold out. I've kept on trying too, but no luck:upsidedow

For us its okay to eat early and you can always seat everyone at the show and go to get some snacks or counter service to split while you are waiting for the show.;)
