Hey all, looking for a few extra viewpoints on this. Heading down for a week early April. Already have the dinning plan set up with our stay, just trying to figure if the extra options of the Deluxe Dinning or not. Is this not something that we feel that is a must but I'm trying to figure out if it's something that would be a good fit for the two of us. I do have family that proablly will be dinning with us a night or two, so i guess my one question is that is it possible to use some of our credits for them also? Being able to hit sit down locations is a lot better for us sometimes then the quick serve locations as it's nice to just sit and relax from time to time... Just looking for some extra input.. sorry if this ran on a bit.. lol.. Thanks for any ideas everyone.. :wave2:

For what it's worth, DW & I have done the DxDDP a couple times with a few different length of stays. Our most recent was our Disneymoon, where we were in the parks for 4 nights. That would be 12 dining credits and 8 snacks per person, for those of you keeping score at home. We had a great time, but towards the end of it, we were on a bit of a dining overload. We tried to do it as rationally as possible, mixing in 2 credit meals, breakfasts, lunches and dinners throughout the trip. We had lunch on our check-in day at Captain's Grille, then a dinner at CRT, day two we did a lunch at Sci-Fi & dinner at Narcoosee's, day 3 was a breakfast at Cape May Cafe then a dinner at Jiko, and day 4, we had breakfast at Spoodle's, lunch at Coral Reef, and dinner at Raglin Road. It was alot of food, but we really enjoyed it. In hindsight, we might not do a DxDDP trip that long again, previously we've done one or two nights of DxDDP, and that seems to work very well for us. We aren't exactly heavy eaters, nor do we eat like birds...just right in the middle...so it was a bit overwhelming at times, not to mention that DW started to get sick during our last full day in the parks from the nasty cold snap Orlando had in the middle of last week. We like the Dx option, but probably won't do it for more than a few days at a time in the future.

Hope this helps your planning,
matt

We did the DDP for our last trip and it was great it is a lot of food, but it will also save you a lot of money if you plan to eat at signature restaurants every night. We mainly did TS lunch or breakfast and signature dinner. You will not be able to use extra credits for family members.

We will have Deluxe dining in April.

My thought is that the DxDDP is for people who enjoy signature dining and table service (which is what we are doing for all our breakfasts & dinners - snacks & CS for lunch). I want a break from the parks. I want someone to wait on me when I'm on vacation. I'm a SAHM w/ two kids. I want pampering and good food that I don't have to prepare :snooty:

It has worked out for us the last two trips. It did seem like a lot of food. But this is how we did it, We booked a character breakfast and then a TS usually 2 credit dinner but not always and a CS in between on days that are not 2 credit dinners(I usually get some form of salad in between so I don't burst). If it was just DH and I we would just use the DP but with two boys who are always eating it worked out great. Sept. 2007, I took a friend and her daughter it also worked out because we ate at 2 credit TS at night and it made my friend really appreciate WDW - they'd never been before. I would first see if TS are in your plans.

Some complain its too much planning but I like having somewhere to sit and regroup especially for dinner. We've had some great fun at dinners in Disney. Plus, for me the planning is one of the funnest parts.

I first look at park hours or historical hours and plan which day at which park and then I look at the menus and plan the meals.

I believe that you can only use credits for those on your reservation. Good luck, Have fun with it.
