My DBF and I are on the DDP for the first time in May and have booked a few signature restaurants. Now we know you no longer get appetizers at the normal restaurants but had read somewhere you get them at the signature restaurants. However looking on the Disney's official DDP document it says appetizer and then in brackets Guests ages 3-9 only. Now I am confused, can someone tell me if you get them or not?

You will not get appetizers, even in signatures, with the regular DDP.

If you book the Fantasmic Dining Package, you'll still get them (even with the regular plan) Another way to get them is to choose the Chefs Selection from LeCellier.

ETA - Just thought of another one - you get the salad if you order a skillet at WCC

Any of the places with Price Fixed Menus that serve family style will also include their appetizer, and of course buffets as well.

So, to summarize: Basic Dining Plan Guests in general do not get appetizers included in the DDP, except (A) under very specific predetermined situations such as the ones listed here or (B) if they are children between ages 3 and 9 - and Guests with party members in category B should remember that Disney's definition, and timing, of 'appetizer' may not agree with your/our own.
