Hello,
I'm training for my first half marathon.... Disney in 2010! I'm 26, chubby and would much prefer watching a movie at home than running. But I decided that I want to be a runner, run the Disney Marathon some day and get fit.... So here I am.
I did the first 5 or 6 weeks of the C25K program while it was warm enough to run outside. Now I'm just running/jogging/power walking on the treadmill 3x a week after work. I really hate the treadmill, but it doesn't make me dizzy anymore and it gives me a chance to listen to Trapped On Vacation. It's not all bad, I guess!
I'm pretty nervous about the race in January. I run very slowly but I'm determined to finish. In the next few months I'm hoping to increase my endurance and pace.
That's about all. Does anyone have any tips? Should I join a group? What do the groups do? I was thinking about signing up for a Cliff Bar pace group at the actual race to help me finish. Has anyone tried this?
TIA!:flower3:
