I have been lurking on here for a while and I know I saw a thread with some completed designs. I was wondering if those who have used these designs could post some pictures of the shirts, books, tickets, etc and a little thank you to the DISigner. It would be nice to see some finished products!!

Kara,
Thanks for posting the pictures - you did a terrific job - they all look great - 2 questons for you -
1 - what type of transfer paper did you use?
2 - what size are your autograph books? Did you just use scrapbook paper? I love the ribbon idea - how did the work for your kids? Any other suggestions to making them?
Thanks,
Tammy

I made the scrapbooks 5x7 for my daughter, and 4x6 for my nephew. I used 67lb cardstock and then after I cut them out, I hole punched the ends and tied up with ribbon. I bought a small clipboard to keep it on - makes it easier for the characters to sign - and carried the whole thing in a ziplock to keep it from getting wet. Started this in May, 08 and still use it each time we go. It is heavy though, but the characters and handlers love the books!
For the transfer paper, I use either HP or June Tailor for light fabric. Both of those worked well for me.

Where did you find the design of the mickey ears with the tiara on it? The tiara looks sparkly--did you do something special to that design. Would love to make some for my friends 40th birthday party at WDW.

I cannot remember who did the tiara - maybe kellybell? donatalie? But I bought small rhinestones and glued on in a few places. I loved the finished product of these shirts! My DD loved the sparkles and it was fun for our mother/daughter trip!
I would just post a thread asking for the mickey head with tiara - whoever did it will be willing to help you. These designers are amazing!!!

I can't make any changes - sorry! I have NO creative skill!!! :rotfl2: I just save all the designs in case the designers take them down. Try triplefigs - see if she's still out there and could maybe help you?
As for the black mickey heads with our names and favorite characters? rumblytumbly did these for me, but she's not designing right now. I did see some other designers offering the mickey heads.
I used HP transfer paper for light fabrics and it did NOT wash up well at all! One wash and it was peeling off.
I get all my shirts from jiffyshirts.com. They are super cheap but you can get Hanes Beefy T's for about $3 or $4 so it worked out great! Now the transfers I used for the dark shirts were June Taillor for dark fabric and after nearly a year, and wearing the shirt around the house, it is still in great shape!
I don't like working with the transfers for dark fabrics, but they do seem to hold up better for me. But I like the way the transfers for light fabrics feel on the completed shirts.
As for the envelopes, I set my printer to #10 envelopes, but they never seem to line up and fill the entire envelope.
I'm an addict when it comes to this stuff - I thought my husband was gonna divorce me after our big trip back in May! Now I just do the ocassional tsirt or dining invitation for us. But it's so much fun to do! And the Epcot pasports were a huge hit for DD and my nephew!!!!

This is what I was able to do with the hats. I am by no means an expert. So maybe there is someone else who can do a better job. I couldn't do the bows. With the hats, I didn't kow how to get rid of the yellow outline.

I was looking at the two designs you did for me (thank you again) and I realized the hat one is bigger than the other and a little lighter. I think its because of the WDW at the bottom and the minnie one has more black outlining. Would it be possible to just take the bows off of this one so that the print and size and color are all the same. Sorry to bother you.....the minnie one just looks so great, I think the boy one would be better with just the mickey heads and not the hat.
Thanks so much, I really do appreciate your time!

Here's the autograph book I did for my 6 year old DD. The autograph pages were designed by Heather. I don't remember her DIS name and I don't think she's on here anymore, which is a shame because she was really talented. She had someone take her and her DD's designs, make an autograph book and then put them on ebay for sale. Everyone that has seen the autograph pages has loved them and asked where I got them.

Thanks! It was my first try at any type of scrapbooking and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I did the same thing for DD11 except her scrapbook has Tinkerbell on the front. Their autographs are identical but I used a few different photos for DD11. Now I just need to get the funds to do the vacation scrapbook! LOL

This will be our first time going and I have a little question. When you made your autograph books how did you decide what characters to do pages for. I figure you did characters that were musts but then what. I want to have a page for each "just in case" but it looks like it will add up quick. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!

I did every single character - I know, crazy! But every time we go and get new autographs, I pull those pages out to lighten the load. But yes, I had over 130 pages at first. My SIL is going in a couple of months and she only put in the "main" characters, plus the Playhouse Disney pages. That way she can still let them see any characters, they may just not get autographs. And you can always print out a few generic pages....

I will probably do what you did and print out every page. DD will only be 18mo. so I am not gonna do one for her. It might lessen the load;)
