Bamb~ Update in OP

I just received a text from Buffy just now..
Her MIL passed away this morning from a major stroke.
They are currently working on arrangements now.

I would like to do something for her as a group... any suggestions...

I will keep everyone posted as I find things out. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!

UPDATE: I just got an email from Buffy.. She and DH send their thanks and love for all the support. They will be leaving on Saturday to drive to the Atlanta area. Driving was more more affordable than flights.
She said the photos are in gaps but she is hoping to get some family photos at a later time. They are doing a small graveside service for her so they don't want flowers sent...

Maybe we could send some flowers to the house for them.. or gift cards for dinner....

I like the idea of gift cards- maybe if we can get them emailed to her we could get them for places they would be able to eat at along there trip- it would help them with the expenses for it.

One charity would be the American Heart Association. Also everyone please remember Feb 6th is Go Red For Women day. Every women is to wear red that day to shine a BIG OL' RED LIGHT on heart dicease. Here's the sight...something I truly stand by unfortunatly. http://www.goredforwomen.org/
I was what was called back in the late 60's a blue baby. I was blue when I was born. Apparently my heart operates backwards. My vessels are somehow switched. So the smaller weaker side of my heart pumps to my entire body while the larger stronger side guys to my lungs...instead of the other way around. Medical term....transposition of the great vessels. I had open heart surgery before I turned two. The doctors told my parents I wouldn't live past 5 and if by some weird chance I did I would NEVER have kids. Well I am here to say very loudly that I am going to be 40 this summer and have 2 GREAT boys. Granted I am done, cardiologist says so. I celebrated my 3rd birthday on January 20th, that was when I became battery powered. I know have a pacemaker.
Ok sorry for babbling, but moral of the story is enjoy everyday which I am sure BAMB MIL did.
So in response if anyone is looking for a charity I would say the go red for women cause. But the gift card to a rest or maybe even a grocery store would be a nice idea too.

Definately not too late- we all couldn't mail until this morning so tomorrow would be fine. Lisa is going ahead and getting some cards today and if there is more money that comes in then she will give it to them when they return.

Ok girls..OPERATION GIFT CARD has been accomplished...
Unfortunately there were no gas cards to be found...so Lisa utilized the VISA cards for them!!! :) So she got them the VISA card and some Starbucks cards to help keep them up during the drives...

Buffy will call one of us, me or Lisa, when she arrives and I'll update the rest of you when I hear from you!!!

It's such a great group of girls that we have here.. Always willing to support one another in a major crisis and or just a vent due to life in general.. I personally can't thank all of you enough!!! :thanks:

My DH and I paid a visit to Buffy, Mr. Blink and the Blink children to get the house key and for Mr. Blink to gave Mr. Sneeze instructions what to do should their basement start to flood. Certainly the last thing they need to worry about coming home to after such a trip.

BAMB and Mr. Blink was touched that so many people have sent their condolences.

They are currently in NC headed to GA tonight.. they will be at their destination late, late tonight....

They are doing well...as well as they can at this point..
They got a bit of a delayed start on their trip..that is why it's taken so long!!!

As of late last night they were due to get into GA last night..
During our conversation they said they were meeting w/ the funeral director this AM..
As of now the services will be Tuesday at 2pm @ A.S. Turner and Sons in Decatur, GA. The burial will be at the Marietta National Cemetery.
Please continue to keep them in your prayers..

All kids have done well on the drive down..but confess to numb backsides due to sitting on them so much! LOL

They did arrive safe and sound in GA in the wee hours of the morning yesterday. Buffy isn't thrilled with the hotel, said it was okay and they won't be switching. What a drain this trip must be for all of them.
