View Full Version : No school - who's home bound?

We got the call already that there will no school tomorrow. We have lots of hills and sn@w drifting on roads because of corn fields. Being rural does have its disadvantages.
This the third day home this week. My boys are NOT happy because now we are one day into June. We used up out last designated day today. They were hoping for a two hour delay.
Who else is gonna be home tomorrow?

We still don't know, but DS16 was looking and it's supposed to go down in the 20's and it's been raining on top of ice and sn** all day today. I'm sure something will happen tomorrow...like 2hrs late or something.

We don't know..tomorrow is a schedule 1/2 day anyway.. so if they decide on a 2 hour delay.. it would be a waste..they'd get the elem to school, older kids to school, immediately have to go back to the elems to get them home and than the older kids home...the poor bus drivers would be driving for 5 hours straight!
We are still hoping they just call it off.. We have 5 built in days... and we have only used 2... one is being made up in Feb... and we have 3 left...

I'm guessing we will be on a 2hr delay.... no idea why the hell they are waiting to let us know since every other major county has already announced it... they are such dorks here.

Ashley, highs in the 60s would feel like summer to most of us right about now.
We have a 90 minute delay, two sn@w days, our last day of school is the 17th now too.

School here...only one of the Catholic High Schools is on delay...but not DS16's. I was standing at the door, and you could hear the ice cracking as he drove down the street. I'm sure the major roads are fine, but he still had to get out of our neighborhood, and pick up his friend in her's. He called me that he got in OK. WHEW!!

Deb, I'm glad you DS is safely at school.
How much did you all get?
We had about 3-1/2 of the white stuff on Tuesday, then 1/2 of ice that compressed the white stuff and then about 3 inches of white stuff over the ice. Had to punch through the ice with my fist before the ruler would go through. The total was only 6 inches. And we have our third snow day in a row. I'm guessing the ice was enough to make the snow plows have a hard time cleaning up the roads.
A car just drove past my window, so it must not be too awful out there. If I stick to the main roads & highways away from steel hills, I should be able to get to the grocery store.

Come on down Lisa!!! Everybody! But only if I can come up there to escape the 100+ degrees in the summer.

Sounds like a good reason to pull out the CC and visit a certain website of a certain Big Box store...
