Ugh. Thought I was doing great putting the t-shirts together until I realized the instructions say wait 24 hours after doing the transfer and then wash before wearing. I can't do both, so what do you suggest?
Wash them after 12 hours - it won't hurt the transfer - and then they'll be ready to wear.
or
Don't bother washing them before you wear them.
or
It's really important to wash them before you wear them and you do need to wait 24 hours, so you're outa luck kiddo.
Thanks!!!

Assuming you have already washed them prior to doing the iron on - there is no need to wash them before wearing them. I always wait until after our trip to wash them again. This was they look crisp and new!

Can you not get away with ironing onto a brand new shirt (unwashed) and then just wearing?!

You really should wash before applying the transfer. This removes the sizing they put on the shirt and allows the transfer to adhere properly. (Be sure not to use fabric sofner or dryer sheets as well)

What about if you plan to wear the shirt the once? I wont wear mine after I get back from Disney as they'll be specific to that trip and I'll want to do new ones for the next one anyway. Will the transfer stick without washing the shirt?

It really depends on the tshirt and the transfer.
It will probably stick fine but I have heard others here talk about the corners lifting off or even having the transfer peeling off.

I wouldn't take the chance on trying to put a transfer on an unwashed shirt. It is very easy to wash (no softener) and dry it before I iron on a shirt. It is not so easy to spend money on transfer paper, ink to print the transfer, the T-shirt and then have to throw it all away and start over because I didn't wash it first. Just my 2 cents!
