Bad news

Hi folks,

I'm sorry to announce that we won't be doing a show this week. John and Kevin had something important come up at the last minute, and they won't be able to do the show this week. I'd rather not do a show without them, so I decided to skip this week.

However, that means that next week we'll have A TON of stuff ready to go up with the show - including LOTS of HD video (this new camera is UNBELIEVABLE).

Again, I apologize - I hate missing a week, but sometimes other things are more important. I hope you understand.

Wait a minute... Hold on... There are things more important than THE PODCAST? Surely, I've misread your post. Some of us really, really want... no scratch that need the podcast. Now I will be forced to drive my long drive to/from work without the repertoire that I look forward to each week. And hey, what was that with no one in the peanut gallery this week? Someone is slacking...

Did I convey my understanding and sympathies toward whatever took y'all away from your duties, I mean your entertaining us with a wonderful show? I'll be looking forward to next week's show with anticipation. Will we be getting a make up? You know an extra ten minutes here, and extra ten minutes there... An extra spin of the prizematron... Oh wait, I'm never in the running on that one...

I'm looking forward to seeing the HD video. We're thinking of getting a video camera this year (not anything as fancy as yours). I'm on the fence about whether to go SD or HD. HD is obviously the future but they are so much bigger to work with. I would be really interested in hearing about your experiences in editing the videos.

Yeah, I'll try and stage a few as soon as I can. They won't be 'finished', but I'll give you something to chew on :) I have some playing around to do with the video in order to find the right settings. In order to get the 'really good stuff' on the web the way I want it, I probably won't put it on YouTube (too much compression). I will warn everyone that you'll need a good broadband connection to see these (although I do plan to make them available for download as well, but if you don't have a decent connection, it would take forever to download them.
