Layout Challenge #13

[Arizona Rita]

Hello!
For this challenge you will be scrapping your Disney Sweetheart!
Your sweetheart can be your spouse, kids, Disney fave or anyone else that you consider your Disney Sweetheart.
Please use the following on your Layouts:

Disney themed paper
at least 2 photos
an element of your choosing
and somewhere on your page you must a Heart, that is visible.

If Ive left anything out (Ann and Nancy will chime in) please bare with me as this is my first time as hostess:)
Banana will pick a name from the entrys on the 17th of Feb so you have until the 16th to post lo. That gives you Valentines weekend for any special activities you may have done for Valentines Day.

The winner will recieve a WDW/DL embellishment kit (includes 25 chipboard tags, 3 sticker sheets, 20 brads and 5 rolls of ribbon).

Oh, thanks for the offer, but don't change it for me - if I don't get to it right away, I don't know when I would. I think I will do a layout without pictures before we leave and just make sure I take pictures that will fit the layout (wouldn't be the first time scrapbooking dictated life :rolleyes1) and I can just print those couple of pictures at home.

AR~ It's a quick fix to bold the date..
Just go into edit...
highlight the date...and on the tool bar just above where you are typing this in at... hit the "B" and it'll bold what you highlighted!!! :)

Gina, If you are doing it as a gift or heritage page thats fine, is that what you mean? I dont think it has to be "MY" in that sense of the word as long as we keep the sweetheart theme.

The pictures I have that are perfect for this theme are of my brother in law sitting on the floor of Country Bears with his 2 nieces and nephew curled up around him giving hugs. :)

Funny that you mentioned DH.. when I try something and it doesn't work the first time out.. I call DH and tell him how stupid his computer is..because as we all know.. it CANNOT be my fault it didn't work right.. it is NOT an operator error...it has to be the computer!!! :badpc:

It's yucky cold and starting to sn** now so I can't get downstairs because I'm afraid if they call school early for some crazy reason I won't hear the phone... so I'm hoping tomorrow to get some work done!

Dumb question...what do you mean by "an element of your choosing"? I have a couple of great shots and partially started scrapbook pages of my oldest from her first trip to Disney that I think I could take in this direction for the challenge...if only I could figure out what an "element" might be.:lmao:

It could be a flower, sticker, file folder, chipboard shape, brad, eyelet, paper piecing, stiching, ribbon or fiber, basically anything other than a photo, journaling, and background paper would be an element.

It's suppose to be getting nutting in the area vanyel!!! MY gosh!
DH has been on the road 1.25 hours so far..and is still 30 minutes from home on a good day...so at least another hour... so a 45 minute drive is going to take him a whopping 2.5 hours to get home.. He said it's not so much the roads but the lights seem to be out of sync and only letting about 5 cars thru a light.. :(

Just wanted to give you all a view from outside the box. Not exactly the normal "sweetheart" theme, but boy I sure do love the bad boys of Disney.
I have one of Jafar, but I didn't fit nice on the page. I had to have Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers. That was the high light of our trip. Being able to interact with them alone.

First, :welcome:!! Nice to have you in our cozy little corner of the boards!!!
We had this question come up just last challenge... Here is what I said on the subject. It's tradition that the winning entry hosts the next challenge.
Me personally, I don't mind if it's digital or traditional... I however had not put any thought into a prize for digital entries. As long as you don't mind getting a traditional item as a prize I'm all for it...

As for drawing the winner..it's an open draw... the hostess puts the name in a bucket, hat, cup..and someone draws the winner...so it's open to anyone as long as they are willing to host the next challenge.

If for some reason you'd rather not be chosen as a winner you could always enter and ask not to be put in the drawing... but we'd love to have you in the drawing. We started these challenges for the traditional scrappers just to start thinking outside their comfort zones..BUT we are open to all scrappers digi/ traditional/ hybrid....

yep that was what i would say too! This challenge is more general than some of the others. It can easily be paper or digital. But the prize needs to be something for the paper scrappers.

ok thats great thanks for filling me in on how it all works. I have some really cute valentines kits that I want to use so if I can find the right photo I will give this challenge a go.

I am hapy to think of a challenge if I was to win and give a prize. When I was out in Florida christmas 2007 I went overboard and brought a lot of disney scrapbooking supplies so I am sure I could get a prize together if necessary. It would be good for someone to use them because I never got a project off the ground, lack of time, confidence and equipment. I found digital scrapping recently and it just suits me better as I have always played around with our photos on the pc so I am in my comfort zone :goodvibes

One last question I am in the UK so is it still ok to play or would prize posting be an issue?

The photos do not necessarily have to be at Disney, but the paper does have to be Disney theme paper. And any other Disney elements (stickers, brads, etc).

Yea they did didn't they. I love those ones, plus you get a free 5x7. It is the one INSIDE of Epcot behind some curtain, buy the video games. I'll see if I can find what time they say it is, it was during x time to x time though. When I get home tonight I'll check for you. But you don't know who is in there it's a "surprise" we were just lucky to get Mickey and Pluto. I was happy. :goodvibes

That Visa thing was pretty cool. We were the last ones in when we did it, had Goof and Minnie and they took alot of time with us and played with Banana and me! Anyone should take the time to do it if they can.

It is great. The characters didn't make you feel rushed at all like you do at other areas. But we did our shots and got out so we didn't take up that much of time.

Glad you see the hearts. I actually used the 5x7 one and two other pics on another page right before that so this great idea turned into 3 pages. :cool1:

Here's what I came up with for this challenge. I even used swap pieces!!!:cool1: These pieces are from the color swap. I just changed the brads in the flowers to hearts and added some more heart brads in other places as well. I had wanted to do this with the Mickey photo and I thought I had 2 that went together for this, but I guess I dreamed it because I can only find the one photo. So, to get the 2 photos, I added Tigger since he's just so Tiggerific!!!

Yes, the picture with Tigger is the same one that I used to have in my signature. It's my favorite Tigger picture! He liked that I was wearing my Tigger ears!!:rotfl:

I like that paper too and this was my last sheet of it!:guilty: And, yes, that's me. Those are my 2 favorite character pictures. They were taken on the same trip. There were 4 Moms and 4 teenage boys and it was such fun to embarrass the boys (that's why I wore my Tigger ears at Crystal Palace)!!!:rotfl: Mickey surprised me with the kiss, I wasn't expecting it. I thought I was just going to have my picture taken with him. After my picture, though, all the other Moms had to have Mickey kiss them too! It was such fun!
