OT: Has anyone stayed in Destin, Fl?

I am considering Destin for the lat 2 day sof our next trip since its "on the way home." Has anyone have any recomendations? Looking for a Beachfront resort/hotel, kid friendly, nice pool perferable can get an Ent. or AAA rate.

Hey Sue!! I love the Destin/Fort Walton Beach Area. A good website is for the visitors bureau for that area. It is www.destin-fwb.com. I hope this helps you out some. I can't remember the names of any in particular in Destin, because I usually stay with my sister who lives there.

The absolute best relaxing vacation place!!!!!! We rented a condo at Maravilla resort. Very reasonable. Kids will love the Gulfarium in Fort Walton Beach---very hands on. Have a great time!

We LOVE Destin, try VRBO.com, we book a condo thru them each year, it is individually owned condos, houses for rent by owner. We've only had good luck. They usually have pics, prices and availablity listed right there.

Here's the website for a very nice, Gold Crown, timeshare resort, Fairfield Destin at Majestic Sun (http://www.efairfield.com/inside/resorts/0040.asp). I don't know what the rentals cost but I've read glowing reviews. We hope to visit sometime. It's right across the street from the wide open beach and offers plenty of onsite activities as well. Just another option.
