A couple of episodes ago Kevin did a segment talking about the best places to get a burger in the Orlando area. I remember Five Guys and Fuddruckers - does anyone remember what else he mentioned and specifically recommended? We're planning where to eat on the evening of August 21st, the night before our 7 day cruise. Yes, we like to plan ahead! :)

Thanks!

I've been a staunch Beaches & Cream supporter, but we've now switched to recommending the Dolphin Fountain for a great burger.

I just re-listened to the end of the 12/24 show in which Kevin discussed cheap eats/burgers and he only mentioned Fuddruckers and Five Guys. (He also trashed Peco Bills in the MK...but, we all know that. :rotfl2: )

I've been to both burger joints and I would recommend Five Guys.

Both are great burgers.

I prefer 5 Guys

John prefers Fuddruckers.

Also consider Celebration Town Tavern.

Of the three...Fuddruckers is the closest, then CTT and then 5 Guys.

5 Guys is 10 minutes away.

Hope that helps.

Thanks - that's great info!

We'll be staying at the Sheraton Vistana that first night - we're leaning towards 5 Guys right now (we're a party of 10, including 3 teenagers and 4 kids under 8) so something casual would be great.

Next will be plotting our route, since yes, we are planning geeks like that (right Sandy?)!

I've been to both 5 Guys and Fuddruckers last week. I prefer Fuddruckers. Fuddruckers also has more choices (fish, chicken, salads) all in a very casual atmosphere.

And, if you are REALLY hungry, you can get a 1 POUND burger at Fuddruckers! Boy, would I like to see someone eat one of those monsters.

As a benefit, Fuddruckers is right at the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd, in the Crossroads Plaza.

I can't believe nobody mentioned the milkshakes at Fuddruckers!!

I haven't been to the one in Orlando, but I assume it's just like all other Fuddruckers - the Shakes are incredible!

The burgers are the best of the chain food burgers - maybe Johnny Rocket's could give them a chase, but those burgers are smaller.

Yes, the Orlando area Fuddruckers have milkshakes but I'm not really into milkshakes. If I had one, that alone would fill me up and I'd have no room for the great burgers!

Kind of OT, BUT Bobby Flay opened a burger place by me, Bobby's Burger Palace. It is SO good!!! It was the first one he opened and I think he's only opened one more in NJ since. If it's near you, GO!!! You can google it to find locations. They have great shakes and fries with dipping sauce too.

Now I'm going to have to go get one this weekend.

I'm eating here next Monday (02-02) for the first time. Been wanting to try it since '06. :hyper:

I had lunch at FIVE GUYS BURGERS today in Fort Lauderdale. OMG! What a great burger. It reminded me so much of California's In-N-Out burgers. They're made fresh as are the french fries. I will definitely be going back! Thanks for the recommendation, Kevin and John!

Just curious, I checked their website, they do have a Johnny Rockets in Kissimme, not too far from disney.

Good bugers, and some entertainment while you eat - an old fashioned diner / soda jerk place. Great shakes, as well.
