I thought that booking process for a cruise was exactly 90 days from the date you want to book (from the first post on this thread). However, IMALOVDISNEY posted on 5/22 that they were able to book a cruise on 8/27. If it is supposed to be exactly 90 days, then I would not think one could book until 5/29. Is there a +10 rule for cruises similar to ADRs? I am not intending to give anyone a hard time. I just want to understand how this works. I have a question and I keep getting conflicting information.

Do you need to use a park ticket on an illuminations cruise?

The reason that I'm concerned is that my dh and I will be at wdw for 14 nights but are only getting a 5 day military parkhopper and will also be using 2 days from another pass. I have made plans to share a cruise with someone on an 'off' day. If I have to use a day off of my pass to do this cruise then I will have to cancel. I have talked to 3 CMs so far that say we don't need one because we never truly enter the park. One said "you get on at the yacht club, travel on the water, and get back off at the yacht club. There aren't any scanners to take your ticket." Made sense... but 1 CM said yes (stating they scan it on the boat) and the person I'm sharing it with asked a CM who also said yes. I'm SO confused!

Any help would be appreciated!

No, you do not need a park ticket for any Fireworks Cruise, IllumiNations or Wishes. You never get off the boat, you never step foot into the parks.

We are planning an early December 2009 vacation right now and want to see if we can find a family or a couple or two to share an Illuminations cruise with.
We have a few options, the night of December 2nd (our first preference) or the night of December 6,7,8,9,10 or 11.
We have shared before with success and hope to do so again. The pontoon boats seat 8-10 adults very easily, or any mix of up to 12 adults/children. We are a married couple 26 and 27 y/o.

Do not overbook your pontoon boat to prevent a disappointment at the dock.

No such thing as a Dumb Question.
No, you do not need Park Ticket/Admission to Epcot for an IllumiNations Cruise. The cruise starts and ends at Bayside Marina at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. You ll never step off e boat, you will not technically be in Epcot. But, it will be the best view of IllumiNations that you ever had!

I have made a reservation for a Premium Wishes cruise for Wednesday, October 21. Last year my husband and I did this and had eight people we found on these boards join us and had a magical evening. We are hoping to do the same thing this year.

The for the boat is $300 and tip ($60) is $360 so divided by 10 it is $36 a person or $72 a couple.

For those who haven't done this before we would meet at one of the docks (I'll know which one in a few days) at 8:00 p.m., have a trip in the lake and stop for the Wishes Fireworks. It's a wonderful trip.

A couple years ago, one of the Moderator's (NativeTexan?) used to put up each month's IllumiNations Cruise thread with a "sticky" so they stayed at the top of the list. For one reason or another, that has not been done for about 2 years now.
I guess anybody here can start them, I think it would be very helpful. Or maybe somebody here can contact one of the moderators and make a request to have these sticky threads initiated again, and maybe now we need to separate IllumiNations and Wishes, just to avoid confusion.

I have made a reservation for a Premium Wishes cruise for Wednesday, October 21. Last year my husband and I did this and had eight people we found on these boards join us and had a magical evening. We are hoping to do the same thing this year.

The for the boat is $300 and tip ($60) is $360 so divided by 10 it is $36 a person or $72 a couple.

For those who haven't done this before we would meet at one of the docks (I'll know which one in a few days) at 8:00 p.m., have a trip in the lake and stop for the Wishes Fireworks. It's a wonderful trip.

Just a quick question about the boats:
When I booked the cruise I was told that only 10 people could go on a boat, no matter the combination of adult and children. But I have read this on the first page of the post:
Pontoon Boats: Only 4 pontoon boats are available for this cruise. Each pontoon boat will accommodate up to 10 adults or 12 passengers if some of them are children. The cost is not determined by the number of passengers, so sharing a cruise is good idea if you want to reduce cost.

Can someone confirm this? I know sometimes you don't get the correct information from Disney when you call, I wonder if I should call back and ask again.

From the Friday after Thanksgiving until December 30th = Check In at Bayside Marina at 9pm
New Years Eve (usually 2 Shows) = Check In at Bayside Marina 1 hour before the early show, and Check In at 10:30pm for the late show.

Hi there. I can't believe we're having trouble filling two spots on your Illuminations Cruise! Don't people realize how much fun those cruises are? What a great way to avoid the Epcot crowds and fighting traffic jams to get out of the park. And you don't even need park admission to watch Illuminations from the boat. It's a great vantage point, too, right down at the level of the lagoon.
Surely there's someone who's going to be at WDW on Nov 17th who'd like to join the cruise and share the expense (and the fun) with 8 other people. Where are you two people?? :confused3
