I am planning a trip in December 09, and am anxious to get underway. I know that discounts for this time won't be released for a while, so I am not sure what I should do. Go ahead and book so that we make sure we get the resort we want, and then hope that if discounts do come out we can apply them? Or just wait? Has anyone had success with applying discounts after they've booked? Much appreciated!!
Thanks!

We're booked for September and yes, I booked it before any discounts. I will call and get the rate(s) adjusted as deals come out. I like to start paying it down ASAP and this makes me actually do it and not have the money accessible for me to put towards something else. This is what I did for our last trip to WDW and I had no issue applying discounts after the fact.

We have booked and then called and had discounts applied to our reservation. The CM's are used to it and do it all the time.

I booked for June of this year before the discount so that I could start making payments, then I called, they applied the discount, and my trip is almost paid off. I love it!

When you hear about a discount, make sure you call to apply it asap. I book when I know I am going, I use my AAA so I know I will get some kind of discount. Then when something better comes along, I call right away. When this latest 4/3 deal came out, I called about 5 minutes after it was announced and I was able to apply it to my reservation (well I got a new reservation and then canceled the old one but I got the same thing I had). A day later the resort I wanted for the time I wanted was already sold out of the discounted rooms, so you do have to jump on the discounts if they are good ones. Just a tip.
