I think you will be disappointed when you see it. Small, very limited equipment.

I agree. The equipment is outdated and it is crowded. It would be nice to see some of our dues to shape it up.

To be honest most economy motels have a better exercise area and their equipment is in better shape than OKW.We usually just go over to the DI Spa.They have a great fitness area.
How much did that cost you, Madcoco?

... head over to VWL, check out "Sturdy Branches". Very impressive and I believe its free to all DVC members staying on points.
IMO OKW has an arcade room & a fitness center just for the sake of advertising that they do have these facilities. Even though when on vacation DW and I don't spend much time in either arcades or gyms, we still believe that if your going to do something,do it right, not just for appearances.
I exercise regularly at home & always go w/ the intention of using the facilities at DVC. I never enjoyed the rm at OKW. I thought the BWV looked much nicer but it was quite busy & I didn't use it. I loved the rm. at VB & used it thru out our stay. HH was less user friendly, but I am determined to try it again in Aug. I also will bring at least one exercise video that doesn't require weights & has little jumping, in case we are not on ground level. Hate to trade the view for exercise LOL.

When OKW opened, the equipment was state-of-the art at the time. I would hope when it's time to replace the equipment that they will replace it with the current "state-of-the art". Maybe that time is coming soon?

sorry pam, but that equipment was not "state of the art" when OKW opened in '92. Being an avid gym person for about 12 years now.. That equipment was "OLD "ten years ago..most gyms got rid of the nautilus equipment in the late 1980's....dave:(

that equipment was old when it was new. Not only do they need new equipment but at least 3 times the space. Four or five pieces of great equipment does not a gym make.

KNWVIKING Thanks for the tip.
Don't know what the Spas new policies are but when DI was open, they use to charge us $60(I think, have to ask DW) for length of stay plus it is close to OKW.

NyDizfan, I agree. When I was in college in the 80's it was not state of the art, never did like nautilus. Whenever we do stay at Okw, I'll usually go over to the BW in the morning for a lap around the BW, a quick workout, then another short lap around the BW. Pick up food for the family at the Bakery, then head back. At night, I like to walk by the BW fitness window with a beer in hand and point to it to the people on the stairmasters. They usually get a kick out of it. Haven't tried the Wl or BC one yet. The Coronado was nice when we stayed there. BTW, Dizfan which gym do you belong to?
