I just realized...we leave in 37 days!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap, I have been so busy I didn't even realize we are in the 30s. CRAZY!!! A week from today I can officially begin saying, "This time next month we'll be in WDW!" :rotfl: This drives Aaron nuts, so you can bet I'll be doing it at least 3x a week. Muwahaha.

Btw, my BFF's baby is due Wednesday and my sister's due in about two weeks. I'm also going to Holiday World (http://www.holidayworld.com/) (a theme park in southern Indiana) on August 1 and the Keith Urban concert on August 15. Lots of stuff going on! I'm really excited for the next few weeks to come. :yay:

Ah, ok...I guess I got confused (which is VERY easy). That's so cool you got to ride it during the previews. Sounds like fun!! What's your highest score on there?

Hmm, that is a good question, I don't really remember what my highest score was! All I know is that on our trip in Dec. I was riding with some guy and I kept glancing at his score because I really wanted to beat him. He ended up pulling out the victory at the last second.:laughing:

August is just around the corner...our trips are going to be here so soon!

So glad to hear that everything is going smoothly with Erik so far :grouphug:

37 days?! Where does the time go??? Before you know it, it'll be the week you leave. You must be so excited to get going and be in WDW already. I know I'm excited and I'm still 3 days away from my ADR date :hyper: :hyper:

Thanks so much everyone for the prayers! We all really appreciate it! The doctor wasn't able to perform the surgery the way he originally planned because the pressure was higher than they thought. However, they did this experimental surgery procedure they think might help relieve some of it. The don't how long this will hold off the pressure build up, but it did temporarily fix it. He's also on several different meds to help with the pressure build up. So far, so good!

THANK GOODNESS!!! We don't know what the future will hold for his vision, but for now he can see out of that eye. We are just so relieved that he's been blessed with this small miracle right now. He deserved it! Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:
Such wonderful news! I haven't been posting, I'm just trying to keep up with my TR and the home improvement projects are taking over right now! But I read and prayed. I'm so thankful that it went well. :goodvibes:

My oldest nephew, Erik (age 9), went in for surgery this afternoon to relieve severe pressure on his eye. A bit of back story -- Erik was has Congenital Glaucoma. Over his short life, he's had over 40 eye operations. He has zero vision in his left eye and some vision in his right "good" eye. He had a tube placed in his eye to help alleviate some of the pressure. Recently, it's has started to build up to severe levels. He's in surgery now, and they don't know if they'll be able to save his "good" eye. Which means, he will be completely blind.

I just hate to see him go through this. He's so young! I know losing your vision is not a death sentence by any means. But still, the thought of being completely blind before you're ten years old?? It's hard to even comprehend.Oh no! Will def pray for him. Please keep us updated.

Woo Hoo for 37 days!! You are getting so close. I am tempted to pack my bags and sneak down there with you  Sounds like you have a busy month until you go.

If you are still looking for baby shower ideas... my MIL took a new potty chair, washed it, and served punch in it :rotfl2: It was hysterical. If that sounds too yucky you could do a clean baby bathtup or something.

I know!! I can't believe it's almost under a month. I'm amazed how quickly this countdown has went. Watch, the last few weeks will just drag.

Hmm, that is a good question, I don't really remember what my highest score was! All I know is that on our trip in Dec. I was riding with some guy and I kept glancing at his score because I really wanted to beat him. He ended up pulling out the victory at the last second.:laughing:

Ha! I always try to steal a glance at other peoples scores in hopes I'm beating them. I tell myself I'm not a competitive person but I totally am. I'm determined to beat Aaron when we go. I'm sure I won't b/c he's usually good at all that kind of stuff. :sad2:

I know!! You'll be in WDW this time next month. CRAZY!!!!! :dance3:

Ha! The more the merrier. You can sleep on the pull-out sofa. I'm hoping that with all the other things we have coming up that I'll be so busy I won't focus on how many days we have left. I'm not a patient person and get really antsy when counting down for a trip. I think I annoy everyone around me w/..."Guess where we'll be this time in [insert number of days here]!" :lmao::rotfl2:

I was cracking up when I read about the potty chair punch bowl. That is hilarious!! I told my mom about it and she was not amused. :sad2: I so would've done it though, if they had let me.

Wow, I have been so neglectful of this thing lately. SAD! Even more sad since our trip is only 25 days away!!!! :yay:

I've been pretty busy with with a lot of different things this past week or so:

Quilting!!
My BFF is expecting a little girl. In fact, she's officially a week overdue. :scared: I decided to venture into the quilting world (no easy fete -- I am NOT creative) and make something special for her little girl. Her nursery colors are black and white. I decided to use black, white and an accent of hot pink. My sister helped me along, but I did 95% of the work all by myself! :woohoo: The best part is, I was able to keep my big mouth shut and sent it off as a surprise. I really hope they love it, b/c I'm quite proud of it!

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p228/kmphilli/June2009238.jpg

Baby Shower
My sister's baby shower was a success! I wound up only doing the Price is Right game, but people seemed to enjoy it. We had a great turn out and she received some really nice things. The best thing, probably this Uppa stroller. It even made me have stroller envy!

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p228/kmphilli/June2009223.jpg

My niece was born!!
My sister had her baby!!!!! Maya Marie was born last night (July 27) at 6pm. She was 8lb 4oz and 19.5" long. She is absolutely gorgeous!!! Everything went very smoothly and everyone is doing great. :goodvibes

Great update. The quilt (and your new DN) is so cute. I tried knitting once, it didn't work out so well so now I leave it to my aunt and grandmother. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I liked quilting far more than I anticipated. Generally, I try things like that and fail miserably. But, this was actually quite therapeutic and relaxing. I only cursed a handful of times -- quilting must agree with me! :lmao:

I know!!! :hyper: I do have several things I want to wrap up -- primarily our itinerary. I still haven't really finished it. I saw where they adjusted the hours to early August, so I'm hoping they lengthen late August too. Hopefully, I'll post my new itinerary on here today. :goodvibes

Thank you!! Don't you just love babies? The only negative thing -- I now have serious baby fever!! I can't wait to have one of my own...even after I saw the aftermath of the birthing process. :scared:

You only have three left on your ticker!!! :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: We'll be there before you know it. I'm getting so excited!!!!!!!!

Hey Kirsten!!! Congrats on your new baby neice!!!! LOVE the quilt!!!!!!!

25 MORE DAYS!!! EEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!!

Hey Lynn!! How are you? Thanks so much -- I'm completely in love w/ her already. She is so cute!!

I know!!!!!!! I'm so ready to go. Well, actually...not so much. I had this urge to pull out my suitcase and start packing. You should've seen Aaron's face. :rotfl: I also need to start organizing all my pins, too. How does Tim travel with his traders? He uses a binder, right?

Wow, you did an INCREDIBLE job on that quilt! :worship: What a gorgeous recipient of your quilt - she's a gorgeous little princess: Congratulations, Auntie!!!

Thanks Lisa!! Yeah, she really is a princess -- spoiled rotten already. She's the only girl. She has FOUR brothers. The poor thing will never be able to date.

How's your mom and grandpa doing, btw?

Wow, that quilt is amazing! Great job on it!

Aw..the baby is adorable! Congrats on being an Aunt! :cutie:

Thank you!! I was really excited how it turned out. I hope my BFF likes it.

I love being an aunt!! It's great b/c I get to spoil her rotten and then send her back to her parents. :rolleyes1 It's great!!

LOVE the quilt! It's another thing I have on my list to learn how to do when I'm out of nursing school.

Thanks!! I had always wanted to learn, and my sister had taught herself so she helped me. It was a lot of fun and pretty relaxing really. I cheated and used a sewing machine. I couldn't imagine doing all that by hand. :scared: The hardest part was cutting everything out in a semi-accurate way. That was seriously a PAIN! But otherwise, it as a lot of fun experience.

We carried our pins in our pin trading books, and in baggies for the ones we were going to trade. We had a carry on just for pins!!!!! LOL. Security in Philly airport thought we were nuts lol.

HA! I knew you'd understand my need for packing three weeks in advance. I've already put aside a lot of things that I want to pack. I can't wait to officially start packing. I'm such a nerd.

I love you had a separate carry-on just for pins. I was so nervous the first time I traveled w/ them. The airport security people thought they were some sort of weapon and they scanned my bag three times. I had this horrified look on my face and yelled out, "No! Not my pins!!!" :rolleyes1 They thought it was hysterical.

Looks good....and exhausting! ;) Just how I like my WDW trips. :rotfl2:

Are you guys the type to utilize a mid-day break since you are going during such a hot time of year and the park hours are longer or do you go go go all day long?

For all the days you don't have any ADRs planned, what's the plan? Meals in your room since your staying at VWL or will you be eating at counter-service places? If it's the latter, got any faves? I'm looking for a few to add to the itineraries for our trips in October and December.

Ha, so true! You almost need a vacation after you get back from WDW.

We'll do breakfast in the room. DH LOVES cereal, and I'm planning on getting some fruit and Cliff Bars. We'll do counter service for lunch while at the parks. I really like CS restaurants for some reason. For dinner, we'll be eating at various restaurants in the area. You've inspired me to do a separate post about food options.

I didn't think there was anyone who didn't do a whole post about food :rotfl2: It's one of the most fun things to talk about and probably one of my most highly anticipated post to read in a PTR and TR. Last trip in 07, none of the food was planned---this trip with (hopefully) Deluxe Dining Plan, every bite will be planned down to the last Dole Whip ;) I have a DM that gets cranky when she's hungry, so consistently giving her something to eat will be a must. :goodvibes

HA! Food is definitely a driving force behind any trip we take. I'd love to do the DDP some time. I'd have to do it with someone who'd fully appreciate it. DH doesn't like Disney food ::GASP::. Yeah, he's weird like that.

Your DM sounds like me and my family. We have some serious blood sugar issues when we don't eat. We get grumpy FAST. So, I understand how important for everyone sanity getting fed is. :thumbsup2

I'm definitely one of those people who is ruled by their stomachs. I love food, especially at WDW! Anne inspired me to list out all the place we'll be eating to correspond w/ our itinerary. We'll also be stopping by Wal-Mart or Publix to pick up some snacks and breakfast items for the week.

Sunday

Breakfast/lunch -- We'll grab something at the airport, probably something boring from McDonald's or Chick-Fil-A. Hey, we're on vacation...gotta start eating bad immediately!

Lunch/Snack -- Roaring Forks. (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=16) I'll probably get a salad and Aaron will get a pizza.

Dinner -- Carrabba's Italian Grill (http://www.carrabbas.com/menu/pdf/38PF-37PW.pdf) I know, they're a chain. But, it holds special meaning to DH. Aaron is addicted to this restaurant and this is where it all began. Plus, he's convinced it's far superior than the one we have in Indy. :rolleyes1

Monday

Breakfast -- Eat in room, Aaron will have cereal and I'll have some fruit & Cliff Bar.

Lunch -- Cosmic Ray's (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=152). It's a staple when you're at MK. I love all the different variety they offer. That said, I'll probably go all out and get a...cheeseburger. :rotfl: I love their fixings bar. Anyplace that has free cheese sauce gets an A+ from me!

I'll get Flame Tree BBQ (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=169)...love the Pork sandwich.

Dinner -- Toy Story Pizza Planet (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=142). This is a MUST for us when we're at DHS. I love the pizza and salad combo!!

Tuesday

Breakfast -- Boma (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=197)!!! I am really excited to try this place. The Jamba Juice sounds so good!!!!

Lunch -- Pizzafari (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=170)for Aaron...he LOVES their breadsticks.

Dinner -- Whispering Canyon Cafe (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=17). I CANNOT wait to try the skillet. Mmmm! Sadly, DH is not going to eat at WCC. So, we'll probably get him Giordano's (http://www.giordanos.com/main.php). He's in love with their stuffed pizza. Any place that serves about a pound of mozzarella in their pizza is a great place for DH (and to clog your ateries ). Here's a pic of their yummy pizza!

http://www.onewed.com/files/imagecache/576w/images/1042920/food-and-drinks-at-weddings-midnight-madness4.JPG

Wednesday

Breakfast -- In our room -- although, I might head down to Roaring Forks and get a yogurt parfait. Those things are AMAZING!!!

Lunch -- Peco Bill's (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=147). This is my other favorite counter service restaurant in all of WDW. I usually get the taco salad or the BBQ pork sandwich -- so good!!

Dinner -- Flipper's Pizzeria (http://www.flipperspizzeria.com/). Their Mediterranean chicken pizza is AMAZING! Seriously, so good. Here's a picture from October: http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v349/244/48/6852884/n6852884_47105233_6327.jpg

Thursday

Breakfast -- Chef Mickey's (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=55). I'm so excited to have breakfast w/ Mickey and Minnie! I'm even more excited to see how grumpy it makes Aaron. :lmao:

Lunch -- Pizzafari (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=170) We'll go back and get some breadsticks. We'll probably be so stuffed from breakfast we won't want anything else.

Dinner -- Still undecided about this. Surprisingly, we're not huge Epcot fans. However, we'll definitely hit up the Boulangerie Patisserie (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=330)

Friday

Breakfast -- In our room.

Lunch -- If we go to Universal, we'll eat at the Comic Strip Cafe (http://allears.net/uni/menu/men_csc.htm). Universal is notorious for having crappy food. I thought about going out of the park and doing a restaurant at City Walk. Since we only have one day to do both parks, we probably won't do that, though.

Dinner -- Sweet Tomatoes (http://www.souplantation.com/). :lovestruc This is my one of my all-time favorites in Orlando. Why? Because I am obsessed with salad bars. Seriously. I think they are the best things in the entire world. Mmmm, so good! Plus, Sweet Tomatoes has some seriously good blueberry muffins.

Snacks
I can't forget to mention all the great snacks that we plan to gorge ourselves with.

Popcorn Bucket -- WDW popcorn is far superior to all other popcorn.
http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v349/244/48/6852884/n6852884_47092986_4119.jpg

MK Bakery Cupcake -- DH loves these things!

Ice Cream Sandwich

Yogurt Parfait

Dole Whip -- I figured I'd give it another try. The first one I had wasn't that great.

Rice Krispy Treat

Peanut Butter Fudge

Mickey's Ice Cream Bar

I'm pretty sure I gained ten pounds just from typing this all out. I can't wait to get there and start eating!! :rotfl:

:rotfl:

Mmmmmmm, sounds great! That Giordano's pizza looks pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I had considered that as a possible dinner option for us after returning from Cirque du Soleil. We can hang out in our room and eat deep dish pizza. ::licks lips::

One thing that I don't want you to hold me to, but I believe I read a post on the Restaurants Board that the MK Bakery no longer has cupcakes? I'm not positive, but someone said that their family tradition was to get MK cupcakes first thing in the morning for breakfast and last time they went the cupcakes had gone the way of the French Toast Loaf and were eliminated. :confused3 Here's hoping they are still there!! :thumbsup2

Have you ever had Giordano's before? It's AMAZING!! We got hooked during trips to Chicago and became incredibly excited to find out they had some down in Florida too. Mmmm...it is definitely worth it. I highly recommend it!

OH NO!!!!! Aaron is going to have an aneurysm when he finds that out. Now, I'm off to do some cupcake investigation. :goodvibes

That pizza is AWESOME! I'm still not sure if it's better than NY style, though. It's probably like 2000 calories per slice, but totally worth it!

WHAT?! That's just like me not having tomato soup. :rotfl: LYNN...you HAVE TO TRY THE POPCORN!! Ok, I'll calm down now. Seriously though, that popcorn is so good. I swear, they put something else in it. I could just eat Disney popcorn all day long.

Yeah, don't you hate when you don't have restaurants close by that you love? Although, you're probably right...you probably like it more since it's not readily available. I love their waffle fries.

I KNOW!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!! I can't believe August starts tomorrow. This summer has FLOWN by. Not that I'm too sad...we're going to Disney World soon!!!!

It's seriously the BEST popcorn. EVER! I think you can get a small box of popcorn for 1 credit. I always have to get a popcorn bucket. I usually will save the bucket, and use it to collect spare change. I have another one I use for whenever I make popcorn. It's like a little piece of WDW right at home. Haha.

I have been trying not to pay too much attention to my tickets because counting down day by day is a very slow process, but when I checked this morning and saw that our October WDW trip was only 74 days away, that was definitely exciting

We enjoyed CM breakfast last time (it was our only ADR!), so I booked it for our last morning. The other day, Grumpy (who has seen the ADR list and the trip plan at least 10 times!) says "we're not going to that Mickey's place for breakfast again, are we?". When I stopped laughing, I told him that we were and he was going to like it :rotfl2:

Dinner -- Still undecided about this. Surprisingly, we're not huge Epcot fans. However, we'll definitely hit up the Boulangerie Patisserie (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=330)

Dole Whip -- I figured I'd give it another try. The first one I had wasn't that great.

Just wanted to tell you about the cupcakes at Starring Rolls at DHS. They are to die for. I have been dreaming about them. I got the butterfinger one which wasn't very good cold but after letting it warm up it was the best thing ever. I wish I had taken a picture darn it.

17 days, now!! :yay: Seriously, the time has FLOWN by. It's going to be here before I know it. I've been so busy w/ non-Disney life (gasp!!) Don't you hate when work and other issues get in the way of your Disney high? Psh, the nerve!! I have a lot of things going on between now and our trip. The most exciting thing is a Keith Urban concert!!! I have been looking forward to it F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!! I'm making a to-do list that seems to grow a mile each day. I'll hopefully post it today.

Wow, 74 days is really not all that long. It will be here before you know it. I haven't even had a chance to check out your PTR lately. I swear, I just want to lock myself in my office and only do DIS related things. Think anyone would notice? :rolleyes1

Well, sort of. No one is certain, but it sounds like they only sell them at the Confectionary on Main Street. Twinmom posted some really yummy looking ones they sell at DHS at Starring Rolls. I'll definitely be trying out those Butterfinger ones. YUM!!

WOO HOO!!!!! I can't wait for you to go!!!

I know, me too!!! :woohoo: I'll definitely be texting you updates, pictures and all that other fun stuff throughout our trip. Ooh, I am SO excited!!!!!

HA! I'm doing that to Aaron, too. He's going to be so confused. We both need to make sure to take lots of pictures/videos to document their reactions! :lmao:

Wow, that looks delish!

Mmm, it really is! Cheese just oozes out of it. So good! The best part is they are located right outside the Disney gates on Apoka-Vineland Road. You should try it!

We enjoyed CM breakfast last time (it was our only ADR!), so I booked it for our last morning. Geeze, your list looks good girl! Here's something I recommend packing: hand sanitizer. You can get them in a mini travel size, which is perfect for your bag at the parks. We used it all the time before eating.

Ha, thanks! I might have borrowed that awesome list from All Ears for some inspiration. In the past, I've always forgotten stuff that I just borrowed from my sister or mom. Since its just Aaron and me going I know I need to be more organized.

Thanks for the hand sanitizer tip -- very smart!

OOOH yeah.. get a hand sanitizer!!! Definitely. You can get them at Target for like dollar, the travel sizes.

Yeah! I'm going to head to Target sometime this week and pickup all my trip stuff. I love shopping for travel stuff. I seriously get so excited over it. Haha, I'm so lame.

What is it now - 13 days??

12 days!!!!!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

I seriously can't believe it's almost here. I'm getting SO excited!!!!!

Ugh, I'm so jealous....12 days. :yay:

I hope you guys have a great trip and let us hear all about it when you get home. I used to hate reading through TRs, but now that I have found some really good ones---I have found them to be the perfect way to pass the next 64 days or so until our weekend trip in October. :thumbsup2

It's official...well, sort of. We're going to spend a day at Universal/Islands of Adventure!! We were debating whether we wanted to spend the money on tickets. But, we figured we might as well since we're not sure if this might be our last vacation together before we have kids (hopefully not, but you never know). Now, all I need to do is buy our tickets to make it official.

I found this thread (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2197962) about discounted Universal tickets through Ticketmaster. If that doesn't work, we'll just buy them off the Universal site. The TM offer would save us about $30+ -- not too bad. Either way, I'm excited about going.

Since we have officially decided to go, we'll need to make some changes to our itinerary. Aaron wants to have one day where we don't do anything. So, here's our new and improved itinerary.

Sunday, August 23
Arrive MCO at 1:50pm
Stop by Wal-Mart or Publix to get some snacks, water, Diet Coke (for Aaron)
Check-in to VWL
Get settled in room
Take boat over to MK -- I'm hoping we get there by 5:30-6pm.
Spend evening at MK (they're open until 1am)

Monday, August 24
AM -- Epcot
PM – DHS (evening EMH)

Tuesday, August 25
AM – AK
PM – DHS
ADRs – Boma (breakfast, 7:35am), Whispering Canyon Café (dinner, 9pm)

Wednesday, August 26
AM - AK
PM - MK

Thursday, August 27
Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Swimming and exploring WL
DTD
Outlet Mall -- I LOVE the Disney store there!!
Sweet Tomatoes!!

Friday, August 28
Move to POP
Universal/Islands of Adventure
Dinner at Carrabba's

Saturday, August 29
We have to be at MCO by 8am. SAD!!!

I'm getting so anxious. I'm so ready for a vacation. I've just been dragging here lately. Blah!! I'm going to make sure to take a little notebook (stole this idea of tinkgurl) with me to jot down details for my TR. I've never done a TR before and I know I'll forget everything by the time I get home.

You know, I never really was a fan of TRs either but now I've gotten sucked in. I love to live vicariously through everyone else. So fun!

Now I'm debating on whether I should switch Wednesday and Thursday's plans around:

Wednesday, August 26
AM - AK
PM - MK

Thursday, August 27
Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Swimming and exploring WL
DTD
Outlet Mall -- I LOVE the Disney store there!!
Sweet Tomatoes!!

I think a break in the middle of the week might be beneficial for Aaron. However, that goes against Tour Guide Mike's advice. Do you think the parks will be really crowded on Thursday? Touring Plans recommends avoiding MK on Thursday. Hmm...what to do?

YES!! :lovestruc That thread is AMAZING!!! I have been drooling over all those awesome pictures since we booked. I'm in love. Here are some of my favorites:

Hey Kirsten! If you think the break will help Aaron then just switch the days. I have never used any touring plans so I can't help you there. We go the same time all the time so I know which days to do which parks. I haven't been in August so I can't help. Sorry.

Hey Lynn!! Yeah, I'm leaning that direction too. I'm just worried it's going to be super packed and then Aaron will be even more miserable at the parks. I just don't know what to expect in August.

Decisions, decisions. I think I'll go post on the theme parks board.

I was able to get a pin code for the Ticketmaster discount for Universal tickets! I wound up getting two 1 day-2 park tickets for a total of $140. Had I bought them on Universal's website, it would've cost $195. So...I saved a whopping $55 on our tickets!! How could I pass that deal up? Even better -- I was able to print them off in my office so we're all set!

Here's the link (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2197962), if anyone needs the pin code PM me.

We are leaving for WDW in TEN DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana:

Ok, now that that's out of my system...I need to decide which purse I want to carry in the parks. Here are my two options:

Option #1 - VB Tote
It's big, will hold miscelleneous items (including ponchos, spray fan, etc...). However, it doesn't have a zipper and I'm worried my stuff could fall out.

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p228/kmphilli/vbtote_petal_pk_400.jpg

Option #2 - VB Betsy Bag
It's big enough, won't hold ponchos or other items though. It does have a zipper though.

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p228/kmphilli/pink-2.jpg

What do you guys think? I thought about bringing both, just in case. But then I thought, do I really need to bring two purses?? Oh, the dilemma!

Cool you guys decided to go to Universal! That should be fun.

Yay for only 10 days. Almost time for single digits!!

Ohhh boy, Vera Bradley again. :rotfl: I love the tote but would be afraid to use it in the parks just because I prefer to have a zipper. Speaking of VB...I had my mailbag already to use but then I got another gift card and ended up buying a new hipster! I am OBSESSED...it's really bad. :rolleyes1

I'm hoping the crowds won't be too bad. Aaron is a HUGE Universal fan so he's really looking forward to it. I just wish the new Harry Potter area was open.

Ha, VB is SO addicting!! Although, recently I bought a Coach bag so now I'm REALLY in trouble. :rolleyes1 Which hipster did you get?

Yeah, I saw Harry Potter land is opening next spring so I'm hoping that means it'll be open when we go in April!

Uh oh, Coach too?! I don't think I'll ever get into Coach, way too expensive for me. You know what is really sad is I see sooo many young girls at the mall (I'm talking 10, 11 years old) carrying Coach. And I thought I was spoiled when I was younger...

We probably won't go to Universal in April...unless Harry Potter is open! It does look like it's going to be really cool.

Wow, that is sad, I don't even know if I could recognize those brands (other than Coach). haha!

Have fun at the State Fair! We went to the Wisconsin State Fair on Sunday. Got our traditional cream puffs (mmmmm, sooo good!) but didn't bother trying the chocolate covered bacon. Yes, that is right, they had chocolate covered bacon. :rotfl::scared1:

I'm officially starting to freak out a little bit. While I know I wasn't exactly a genius planning a trip during hurricane season, I never really thought much of it. After all, who cares about silly hurricanes -- I'm going to Disney World! Well...Tropical Storm Bill has turned into a hurricane and I'm STRESSED! :headache: I'm already one of those people who worries WAY more than they should, but now I'm REALLY freaked out. I checked out the projected path on the National Weather Service website and it does look promising for us:

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p228/kmphilli/Bill.gif

I'm sending out all the good weather vibes I possible can. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes I just hope it stays out to sea and fades out. I'm actually not so worried about being down there for the rain. I'm far more FREAKED out flying down there on Sunday. I'm not really an easy flyer anyway so add this to the mix and I'm officially SPAZZING out. :scared1:

Please help calm my craziness!!

You'll be fine!!! :goodvibes Just keep a positive attitude and realize that WDW is hardly ever really affected by a hurricane since it is a decent amount inland. Plus---if a hurricane hits, less people will be out on the rides, so that'll work out well! ;)

Here are my hurricane stories, to put your mind at ease :thumbsup2

In October 2005, we honeymooned just south of Cancun. While we were there, the thought of a hurricane never crossed my mind but we ended up leaving two days before Hurricane Wilma (a Cat. 5 storm) made landfall right on Cancun. So many hotels were ruined, tourists stranded for days and residents left homeless. We were lucky we got out just in time---left to come home on October 18 and Wilma hit October 21.

Last year in August, we planned a trip back to the same place in Mexico. One day before we were scheduled to leave---Hurricane Gustav appeared. The projected path was that it would be making landfall right over the Cancun area. I kept thinking positively and made the (possibly) foolish decision to go anyway and make the best of it. I checked the weather everyday while we were there and a few days into the trip, that Cat. 3 hurricane was still supposed to be making landfall where we were. At the last minute, it took a turn to the east and went right through the islands and the Yucatan Peninsula and we didn't get even one day of rain.

In the end, travel during hurricane season is a real crap shoot. I hope nothing will spoil your trip (or delay your flight) and no matter what happens, once you are down there just keep repeating the mantra "I'm in Disney" and smile and you're bound to have a great trip.

Good luck!!!!!

Thanks Anne!!! I've really come to realize that I just need to let go of all the worrying. It's taking away from my Disney high and that's no good. Plus, you're right...if there is rain it will drive lots of people away and the park will be far less crowded!

So glad to hear your hurricane stories turned out so well. It definitely sounds like you have some seriously good weather vibes going on. I just hope they carry over to me, now. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Sending you some :wizard: hoping that Bill doesn't mess up your long anticipated vacation. Have fun, take lots of photos, and stay out of trouble!!

We have a Chef Mickey's reservation at like, 11:20 or something, and since we get the kosher menu we pre-order, and it was breakfast food. We're having a late morning that day, so it will work great.

Ooh, I'm jealous! I tried to get an even later ADR but to no avail. Sounds like fun! Hope you have a great time!!!!

Just 1 more full day to go!! AHHHH!!!!!!

We leave tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!

YAY! It's here! Have a great trip! Can't wait to hear about it when you get back! It's hot as all get-out down there right now, but it's completely doable if you pace yourself!

Thanks Beka! I can't believe it's FINALLY here. It feels like I've been planning FOREVER!!! I'm not sure if I'm ready for the heat, though. It's like 70 here today. Can't wait to come back and read your TR!! I love all those FB pictures you've posted. I can't get over how cute Conner is!

I had a lot of catching up to do but wanted to be sure I stopped by to see you off before you left.

VB: I liked the one that you could close. Who needs to carry all that stuff around anyhow?

WooHoo about adding US!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Aw, thanks!! I'm getting all excited. WOO!!

I've decided to stick w/ the zipper one. Although, I might throw the other one in my luggage...just to have options.

I'm going to take a TON of pictures at WL/VWL. I am so freaking excited to stay there!!!

Thanks -- I hope the weather is tolerable. :goodvibes

Can't guarantee about the staying out of trouble. ;)

This time tomorrow, I'll be hanging out at the Magic Kingdom -- hopefully riding Splash Mountain! I think I'm all packed, all my stuff is sitting by the door and I'm ready to hit the road!

I'm proud of myself -- I remembered to check-in online exactly at 11:30 this morning. So, I was able to get A-19 and A-20 boarding passes. Not bad!

I am so freaking excited!!!!!!!!!!!:yay::banana::yay::banana:

Thanks everyone!!! We had an AMAZING time. The Wilderness Lodge is simply breathtaking. I'm definitely a groupie now. It had me the minute I saw the big archway. Swoon...so in love! :lovestruc We had such a great time. The crowds weren't bad -- longest wait time was about 20 minutes (minus one snafu with Splash Mountain and an idiot CM). Universal was even better -- are longest wait there was 15 minutes!!! The even better news is neither of us died of heat exposure...now that's definitely a plus!! :thumbsup2

I'll be starting my first ever TR soon, so hopefully you guys will follow me over to that. In the mean time, I'll leave you with some cute PhotoPass pictures:
